Scissor Sisters

The Scissor Sisters concert at Terminal 5 was absolutely fantastic! After seeing them in Boston at a venue that forced the band to begin extremely early, it was great the show began at a normal time, past 8PM. I did feel like it took a very long time for The Sisters to take the stage, after about an hour and a half of a DJ. The DJ was fine for a half hour, even an hour, but became extremely dull heading into the half hour before the band. But once The Sisters started, it was an energy packed two hours of non-stop singing, dancing, and hilarious banter from Ana Metronic and Jake Shears. This band is amazing and worth every penny for a ticket. I came to NYC for the day just for The Sisters and I would do it again in a minute. Because they are not just your lovers, they are Your Sisters!

Every time I go see this band they never fail to impress!! I always look forward to their US tour, and I hope that i will never miss a stop at Philly!!

it was awesome. The songs they chose were great...although i wish they had performed "somewhere" from their newest album. The Matronics got more stage time which was lots of fun and there was more choreographer dancing to the songs which was lots of fun. They also made better use of background visuals this time. LOVED IT!!!!

The Scissor Sisters were amazing- Jake's voice and Anna's stage presence make for great chemistry on stage. The NYC crowd was meh. Not enough dancers in the crowd. THe Sisters should really bring their show to San Francisco. And they should really play two sets.

Bowery Ballroom is this band's favorite venue for more than one reason. The intimate setting is perfect for a better interaction with the band, and the sound system has improved greatly since the last time I was there. Sight is not an issue unless you are very short, in which case you have the option of using the balcony for a stage-wide view. Scissor Sisters were amazing as always, presented us a set loaded with new material that kept the party going all night.

Amazing show! It was high energy from beginning to end. One of the best concerts I've ever been to.

Not as it used to be.. Don't know what changed. Sound was not impressive. at times it seems that they were screaming and not singing. The new songs are nice.

The show is non stop with lots of energy. The band is great and the band rocks

Awesome, awesome, awesome show. Scissor Sisters debuted several of their new songs (all were great), and performed plenty of their old stuff. The venue was small and intimate but the band put on the same type of show as if they were performing in a huge venue. The SS never disappoint!!!

So lets have a KIki about this show..... actually just experience it for yourself. lets just say that everyone had their shorts off at the end of the show,.. werk!

This show is amazing. It doesn't have all the production value of their last tour, but the performances are amazing, and the music is their best and most complex and diverse ever. The Scissor Sisters have not run out of things to say, but are really hitting their stride and stardom. This might be your last chance to see them in a more intimate setting. They will get bigger, and then you'll have to squint to see them at Madison Sq Garden. Also, the audience is as much fun to watch as the show. People dance, and come in great outfits. FYI, there are no seats in Terminal 5. It's all GA, so your seat position is meaningless.

Absolutely beyond my incredibly high expectations. The music and performance was so good. The energy level of the band and the audience was sky high. I danced non-stop except when Jake sang Mary - just a very touching moment that brought a few tears. Can't wait to see them again - Soon please.

I had kind of gathered it from watching YouTube videos of Scissor Sisters performing live, but their shows are an "event" in the truest set of the word. Between the crazy outfits and wardrobe changes, good use of lighting, and great setlist, this is a show I would recommend to anyone. What really makes their concerts is the energy they bring to the stage; Jake Shears was sweating profusely after the first(!) song, and Ana Matronic really knows how to work a crowd. Terminal 5 is not my favorite venue to see a show at, and the fact that the band made the show so enjoyable despite this is as much of a testimonial as I can think of. Definitely check these guys out!

I just had a really great time at the concert. They performed well, they were entertaining, and it was the first time seeing Scissor Sisters and I wasn't disappointed.

I was able to sneak my way down to the front of the pit for most of the show, and ii just had the best time ever!!!! I danced all night, they Put on such a fierce show, and I'll never forget the waves of happiness rushing over me as I danced to my favorite band surrounded by beautiful lovely nice people!!!!

Sisters audio was freaking loud. I couldn't tell what a few songs even were until the chorus. Take it down a notch next time. Had a wonderful evening from DJ to Rye Rye to the Fabulous Scissor Sisters. See you at the next tour.

The Scissor Sisters are a top notch band with an incredible cannon of songs. Everyone in the group is a great musician and a dynamic performer. Their concerts are a guaranteed good time.

Scissor Sisters put on a great concert! They had loads of excitement, and the audience loved them from start to finish. HIghly recommended for a great time!

We showed up at 8:20ish, made our way up to the front and center and were dancing pretty much nonstop until midnight when the show ended. Between DJ Sammy Jo, Rye Rye, and Scissor Sisters, my friends and I were all out dancing the whole time, I've never left a concert so soaked in sweat and so entirely exhausted. One of the best concerts I've ever been to.

Figuratively and most definitely literally. The A/C at Terminal 5 appeared to be not working. It was the hottest I've ever been in my life. I soaked through my shirt completely. That aside, the band were as great as I've ever seen them (like 10 times). They gave their all despite the incredibly searing temperatures!!

The Scissor Sisters were amazing at Terminal 5 on Friday. They were clearly loving playing their home town and the energy in the room was palpable. It's hard to pick a favorite moment with so many great new songs and classics played, but the surprise appearance of Kiki DuRane (aka Mx Justin Bond) was an unexpected and special treat. Anna Mantronic really showed the female energy of the Sisters is crucial and she made sure everyone had a great time. Props to Rye Rye for a great open. She and her dancers were on point on she spit those lyrics with rapid fire accuracy and a smile from ear to ear.

This was my third Scissor Sisters show and they're by far the most fun to see live! They love what they do and the music is a riot. Love them!

This was my fourth time seeing Scissor Sisters perform at the Electric Factory. Maybe it was the less than energetic crowd, or maybe it was the setlist (couple of up tempo songs followed by a slow song), but there was a serious lack of energy at this concert. I was really looking forward to this concert and I left a bit disappointed. The show was nowhere near as enjoyable as the show 2 years ago. I put half the blame on the lame Philly crowd and the other half on the uninspiring setlist. Maybe next time...

Scissor Sisters gave an energy filled concert. They were fantastic. Can't wait to see them again.

This was probably my 9th Scissor Sisters concert. Every single show I've been to has had an amazing energy. The band just totally rocks the stage. The crowd is usually pretty diverse and generally friendly. Always a fun time! Always.

Amazing show...the band is so good! Love the new stuff and the energy was on all night... could have done without obnoxious HOB staff and the girl flipping her hair in my face and drink...but otherwise amazing night!!!!

I've seen Scissor Sisters every time they've been to Boston, from their first tiny show at TT the Bear's in Cambridge when their first album came out. I think this might have been my favorite show, mainly because it included songs from all four of their albums. The Sisters were in top form, and Boston was giving the love back!

I have been to a fair amount of shows at the Commodore and it has to be one of my favorite venues in Vancouver for sound/space. However, the sound was absolutely horrible for this show!! No matter where I stood in the venue the sound did not get any better. Lots of mic feedback and distortion. The performance itself was mediocre at best. They record way better than they perform live (new album in my opinion sucks).. I think someone else said it best in a past review that "they are a good karaoke band."

Having this been the 5th time I've seen the gang play in the Bay Area, they are always good and generate a fantastic vibe in the audience. However, this time around they seemed a little average. The Sister's vibe wasn't as strong as times past (costume changes seemed paired back, energy level seemed weaker). Could I simply have been extremely lucky the previous times? Or was it perhaps they were saving their energy for Coachella the next day? Bands have their ups and downs as well - so I can always chalk it up to that. Will I seem them again when they visit? Absolutely! They are a band not to be missed and you always leave their show with a smile and something to talk about.

It was a nice and powerfull gig by Scissor Sisters on a nice enviroment and venue like Hard Rock Live. Sadly there was no support from another band so the gig started at 8:00 sharp and I missed a couple of songs.

i've seen this band about a dozen times now over the last six years and they only seem to get better and better. This band always seems to make their shows a celebration of life and reminds us we're all human beings no matter what color, gender, sexual orientation we are. And their music live is way more powerful than in the studio - if you go to a SS show be prepared to shake your booty!

Yeah, they were just great. It was super hot and everyone around me was going nuts jumping up and down and singing along. That was everything I needed and so much fun.

Great show - Jake and Anna were flawless - however the sound at the Fox Theater kinda sucks.

The opening act, Caser Spooner, was lame. He stood in front of a mic and sang karaoke to his own songs which no one had ever heard of before. There was no musicians playing, just recorded music. I liked Fisher SPooner a few years ago but this half of them was not good. Conversely, the Scissor Sisters were INCREDIBLE! They are amazing performers and very entertaining. Jake Shears was even sick and he put on an AWESOME show. I would def go again.

This is the second time I've seen them in concert. The first was in San Diego a few years ago. They put on such a fun show. They looked and sounded great!

So this show has been a dream of mine for 6 years now. I recall being on the bus sophomore year of high school listening to songs like "Laura" and "Music is the Victim" and thinking, "God I can't wait til these guys get big because they will be amazing." And on Wednesday August 25th, I laughed, danced, screamed, cried and had one of the best nights of 2010. When a show touches something so deep and so primal in the human spirit they are either truly talented or a choir of angels... the antics and wardrobe of the band make me think the former is the more likely option. You can tell SS loves to be on stage and truly loves their fans. Fantastic show

Brilliant show by Jake, Ana and crew (Del!). The place just rocked with quite a bass note. The DJ was useless, really. Sammy NO! The chief opening act reminded me of Morrisey on Prozac, But it was all over when Scissor Sisters took the stage, and the moment had just begun. A tight band, lots of fun, and great camaraderie made for a superb evening. To see a band of their stature, especially in Europe and overseas, in such a great venue was totally thrilling. Front row, dead center really was front row, dead center.

Oh my god!! They totally rocked the house! The new CD night work is amazing...Ana has sizzling hot dance moves & Jake is smoking hott!!

Great show. Played almost the entire new album and many old favorites. Awesome encore included their cover of "Comfortably Numb". Great vibe in the Electric Factory overall. The Sisters had everyone dancing, whether they wanted to or not.

This was probably one of the best concerts I've ever been to!! geez... I'm still in shock! loved, loved, loved the sisters, every single one of them was incredible... and being able to meet them after the concert was a dream come true!

The Sistas rocked Terminal 5 last night - I heard they were great in concert but had no idea what to expect. Their positive energy, stage presence, and enthusiasm were contagious! They had the whole place dancing. Awesome time!

This was an amazing show. Terminal 5 was the perfect space for their show. Amazing views of the stage. The energy of this band is incredible. They will get you moving and grooving to their butt-shaking songs. Good times. Everyone seemed to leave the show energized and pumped.

Scissor sisters, as always put on a high energy and entertaining show, just a shame that the sound system at DAR Constitution Hall was so terrible. The rubbish sound absolutely ruined the event.

It was an unforgettable experience. Scissor Sisters is my most favorite band ever. Next time can y'all come a little closer to Texas? I had to go 700 miles to see you! But so worth it.

Their new material is rockin' hot! I'm just getting my hearing back. The Sisters rocked the Ballroom like nobody has ever done before. I cannot wait for the albums release. The show combined their new material with a few hits from previous releases. It encompased the true artists that they are. I'm only hopeful that a US/worldwide tour is forthcoming. Scissor Sisters... what can one say about a band that takes things to the next level. This preview of their upcoming album has made me, and others with whom I spoke, happier than ever that the album will be released soon. The show consisted of mostly new music, 9 songs from the new album, as well as a few favorites from albums past. Sandra Bernhard came out and performed "Tits on the Radio" with the band, which was a very pleasant surprise. I spent the entire show listening to get a feel for the new stuff, all of which I liked, and singing along with the songs I already knew. Yet, regardless of my familiarity with the song, my feet couldn't stop moving, I wanted to dance all night, and the energy from Jake and Ana is utterly contagious, fun to watch, and will take anyone watching for a ride. Scissor Sisters has once again proved that they have an amazing talent that we, as their loving audience, are happy that they've decided to share. If you never see another concert but one, I can promise a great, energetic, orgasmically musical time with Scissor Sisters!

The Scissor Sisters are one of the best live shows I've ever seen. Talented, good looking and funny, their songs penetrate and energize the crowd. Magic Hour is a great new album and their past hits always rock.

i took my daughter to see the scissor sisters ad while we loved their performance, we left early due to my daughter dveloping a migraine from the loud beat of the dj that terminal 5 had between acts.

Words can't describe. Great Songs, tight band and Jake and Ana are world class performers. As much fun as I've had at a concert.

They rocked it and so did I - they connected with the audience. Electric Factory is just a wonderful venue to see live acts!

This was one of the best live performances I have ever seen. Scissor Sisters are fun, hot, exciting, talented, energizing and amazing. Cannot wait to see them again.

The Scissor Sisters will never put on a bad show in NYC. They were really great. The energy was crazy high due to having so many hometown fans there. However, there were some disappointments. The Venue -Terminal 5 1) The weather (I know, not controllable). It was very hot and humid that night. The venue is not designed to be energy efficient or easy to maintain temperature control. On the 1st balcony level, it was downright steamy all night. 2) Location-unless you're willing to take buses or pay for a cab getting from GCT, Penn Station or Port Authority is going to involve walking...a lot of walking. The farthest west subways run is 8th Ave. T5 is between 11th & 12th. 3) Sound. At least on the 1st balcony it is subpar. The sound hits the upper level and the ceiling of the 1st balcony and stops. Unless you're right at the railing it is very muffled. The band 1) Invisible Light is the Scissters most epic song and what makes it so is the narrative at the end by Sir Ian McKellan. I have no issue with bands/solo artists using backing recordings. In fact SS did a great job with one for "Let's Have A Kiki". But with Invisible Light Ana spoke over the recording of Sir Ian and the song completely lost it's punch. 2) No everything else was great. Left before the encore because the temp and humidity in the building was unbearable.

The energy was high, the music terrific, the sound system perfect (it was far-from-perfect in Oakland show last month and everybody on the floor had a blast with the Sisters and the people dancing their feet off. Great show. Should be here more than once every 2 years!

Scissor Sisters never disappoints. The show was high energy from the opening act of rye rye to the bands performance. Full of dance hits and some oldies. Jake and Anna are amazing performers even in the really hot performance hall. Which on that note, they seriously need some AC. It was one of the hottest day in NYC and a room full of people made it a complete hot sauna.

The show was fantastic! I wish I'd gone to see them on Friday night as well.

Great show and great group of fans. Everyone was partying together. Would love to see again. I was surprised how nice the Warfield and staff was. It was my fist time there.

I've been fortunate to see the Scissor Sisters a number of times in the not too distant past. Their own show at the Fox Theatre in Oakland. Opening for Lady Gaga (Oakland and Sacramento and Los Angeles) ... And now their own show at the Warfield. Obviously they are able to present many more if their danceable hit songs when they headline. They hit the stage fast and furious and played for an hour and a half. Jake bouncing his muscular frame all over the stage and Anna with her witty in-between song banter. The show was great!! They didn't compromise anything even though they were going to have to get to Coachella for a next day show. Only personal grumble is that I wish they started at 9pm (not 10pm). This isn't NYC!!

Superb show with excellent singers and musicians. Enjoyed the high level of energy with only one small criticism - maybe I'm getting older, but the sound level was so great that the song lyrics were inaudible. Besides that, totally enjoyable concert.

This was one of the most AMAZING shows I've been to in a long time! Scissor Sisters are not to be missed!

Good show! Some audience members were out of hand, though. The Warfield needs to stop serving alcohol well before the end of the show! Too many drunk people for my taste.

I just love the Scissor Sisters and am so glad a coworker turned me on to them in 2006!! I just love love love their music. And they didn't disappoint in person. Jake's energy was AMAZING, and they give a great show--they sounded good (although louder than they needed to be), they definitely engaged the audience, and they didn't go overboard with too much fluff. They could have spent a bit less time yakking at the audience, but I suppose it's expected these days. In any event, I highly recommend going to go see them if you have a chance, especially while they're still playing small venues.

The Scissor Sisters are just outstanding. Their music is fun, danceable, and easy to sing along to. The set was full of a great mix of songs from all their albums. But the best part was Jake Shears and Ana Matronic's performance. They worked the stage, had adorable choreography, and were bursting with energy. The costumes were delicious to see, especially Jake's "manties". They talked to the audience and told really fun stories. I would see them again in an instant!

Jake is just sick and kinky. This band is the best ever. I love this show!

Their appeal on stage is sexy and alive. Loved everything about their performance, energy and realness. I would travel to see this show again and be present with them again. Loved loved loved the show!

The band was fantastic. The sound was really horrible on about 3 songs. Otherwise five stars.

One of the best concerts/dance parties I've ever been to! It's impossible to stand still during a Scissor Sisters concert, your body just wants to dance! If you find their music even the least bit catchy, you will have an awesome time. Make sure you're hydrated, you will get sweaty! I didn't think it was possible for me to love Scissor Sisters any more than I already did, but this concert has solidified themselves as one of my favorite bands, EVER. A good amount of people dress up, do it! Ana may compliment you in the middle of the show. Ana and Jake's performances are electric, and their chemistry is spectacular. Not only do they play great live music, they are also a sight to behold. The many costume changes are phenomenal, and you will want something one of them is wearing! With the many chats with the audience; you feel like you're part of the family by the end of it.

Being at a Scissor Sisters Concert is like being at a fantastic party, where you feel like you know and love the other members of the audience and you know and love the Scissor Sisters. Their music is fun, upbeat and very very good. Their songs, sung by Jake Shears and/or Ana Matronic are memorable and show real artistic range and depth. This was exhibited Friday night at the beatiful historic Warfield - from the first notes of "Laura" to the last notes of "I don't feel like dancing" their show was absolutely awesome. (I'm not sure I'm remembering correctly about which songs were first and last, but both of these songs were GREAT - as was the entire concert.

Fantastic show! The Warfield is a great venue and Scissor Sisters always deliver an unforgettable experience.

Pretty interesting opening acts. DJ filler was ok, but boring, way too long between Oh Land (who I loved) and Scissor Sisters. SS looked absolutley fantastic, the song set was great. It was just loud to actually physically hear anything. Seriously made my brain vibrate 3 times to the point I thought I'd pass out. So we left in the middle of the 4th song, which made me quite sad. I've been watching and listening to the Youtube posts of the concert, it was as fabulous as I knew it would be. Strangely, I can hear them sing actual lyrics and hear the music this way. And Oh Land is just fantastic on the videos, too. Too bad they did not sound that way at all to me in person. Just like at the end of a jet plane engine. Otherwise I just freaking love Scissor Sisters and now really exploring Oh Land, who is just a great singer and artist. Maybe I'll have to stick to Youtube and itunes from now on.

Scissor Sisters were great ... The venue a bit cramped but still a fun time. Didn't much care for the techno DJ in between the warm up acts ... not a good fit.

The Scissor Sisters ROCKED The Warfield. They energy in this show was infectious and the show was FANTASTIC!!! I would rate it in one of my top 5 concerts of all time I've seen. The opening acts were superb, as well. They both really got the crowd ready for the main act.

The band was better than ever! Super tight. We couldn't stand still! Only real criticism is that the vocals weren't as present in the mix as they should have been. We could understand the lyrics to songs we were familiar with but not so much the new ones. We can't wait to get the new album so we can find out what those words were. We love ya Sisters!!

I was standing on the ground floor about 7 feet away from Jake Shears and Ana Matronic and it was heavenly! The crowd was having fun and it was just such a great time! They were fantastic live! I had so much fun I just wanna go back and relive it. Hopefully, they'll come to Miami some day so I won't have to drive on up to Orlando again. But anyway, they were so amazing and I can't wait for the next chance to see them again! Note: It was my first concert and I'm so glad it was, not only something I love, but something that was just incredible!

Jake is hot. Literally burning it up on stage. They sounded absolutely fantastic, as usual.

This was my first concert with the Scissor Sisters and I was surprised by the crazy antics. I have 2 of their CD's and was anticipating a little more of their music's sensitive side and harmonies. Still, it was a jumping, lively, entertaining time. I really did enjoy it!

SS were phenominal! it was everything i thought it'd be and more! I was center, 4 people back with the best view; wearing all black. :) i screamed and sang until i was hoarse. Song after song - this band is fantastic! I was so happy to be there, to see them, to hear their songs live. Dance, dance, dance. I'm a fitness inst. so i didn't stop dancing. I love this band! THANK YOU SCISSOR SISTERS! I'd come all the way from WA state and got robbed my first night in Orlando. Your concert more than compensated for any neg energy i experienced. Please come to the West Coast (Seattle/Portland!!!) Respect. Love, Dawn :)
