The game was fun and I enjoyed the Dr. Pepper Arena. Very nice arena, good food, and play areas for the children. There's no bad seat in the entire arena, and they play music throughout the game. For only $10, you can't beat it. Would definitely recommend this event to anyone who likes basketball. Although it's the D League for the Dallas Mavericks, it's still a good time to spend with family and friends.

The Texas Legends at the Dr, Pepper Arena is an enjoyable event. The arena, the "business fair", the kids zone, and the food were all very family friendly. The seating is great; not a bad seat in the house.

Even though my beloved Dallas Mavericks seem to be playing on the same skill level with third and fourth graders this season, I still felt the need to go support my local teams. Not the Mavericks though, for I was off to watch the mighty Texas Legends D League team. So I grabbed my bro, and after a stop at some Greek restaurant we ventured into the Dr. Pepper Arena in Frisco. Actually, it was a little after game time when we arrived, and by the time we had made it to our seats the visiting Northern Arizona Suns (NAS) had already scored 34 points. Yes, they had 34 points, and the first quarter wasn t even over yet. Wow, they re going to score 140 points in this game, I noted. So, are these guys professionals? my bro asked. Yes they get paid, I replied even though the mighty Legends closed out the first quarter down 43 to 28. Apparently, they re not getting paid quite enough. But hey, we ve got some players to watch here. Baylor s former, standout postman, Johnathan Motely was on the court to use his 6 10 frame to dish in his, team high, 22 points, but the player that quickly grabbed my attention was Legend s guard, Keith Hornsby when he charged into the lane for a two-handed slam dunk. Pretty impressive for a 6 3 guard! What s even more impressive is that he s the son of 80 s Grammy winning singer/piano player/song writer Bruce Hornsby. I have to wonder if Keith has Bruce Hornsby s range? Okay, if you didn t get that, Bruce Hornsby s band was called The Range. However, I m guessing it had nothing to do with anyone s basketball shooting ability. Kuddos for the fan turn out. The Dr. Pepper Arena might have even been a third full! But I doubt it. I will say there was probably twice the turn out here than the turnout I saw at the Oklahoma City Blue game last month, north of the Red River, and the OKC guys kicked some royal B Ball butt bringing in a win, BUT the Legends have a secret weapon that the Blue didn t have. Great players? Hardly. The Legends have DANCERS! Yes, nothing brings in the crowds like tight shorts and a little midriff on display! I m not sure how these ladies got stuck dancing for the D League because they looked pretty major league to me. Of course, I m looking at them through middle-aged eyes which means on a scale of 1 to 10, anything under 30 years old is an automatic EIGHT! Oh yea, back to basketball. Well, my blessed home team actually cut the Suns lead down to single digits a few times! However, the guys from Arizona had a secret weapon of their own, and this came in the 6 1 point guard Josh Gray, who was freaking everywhere!!!! If he was a few inches taller he would had played in the NBA All-Star game last month. Yes, in the 41 minutes Mr. Gray was on the court he sunk in 42 points! Math isn t my specialty, but I d say those are pretty darn good numbers. Speaking of good numbers, I was totally blown away as I went to buy my fix of Bavarian Nuts at the game and found out they only cost five bucks! Seriously? They re up to $12 at the American Airlines Center. By the way, along with the absence of dancers, I couldn t find a Bavarian Nuts stand at the OKC Blue game for the life of me. Sure, they won their game, but no dancers and no flavored cashews and almonds? Seriously? What s the point? Who cares if the Legends got shellacked 135 to 116 by the Arizona guys? They had hot dancers and reasonably priced Bavarian Nuts. I d call that a good night!

I think this is a good thing for the the city of Frisco and it will get better as the team has more home games. The fans seemed a little distracted or not completely there but I think it was because it's only the first game. Once the fans get to know the team, arena and everything going on there it will be more fun. I am definitely going to watch more games at the arena, it will only get better.

Being a true basketball fan, I enjoy the game played at every level, and I ve enjoyed every Texas Legends game I ve ever attended. The atmosphere, the excitement, and fun of big league basketball are all there. Not only are there future and former NBA players on this team, but the Legends dancers aren t bad either. The only thing missing at the game is the ENORMOUS price of the NBA. I ve followed Eduardo Najera s career since he played at the University of Oklahoma, and it s exciting to watch him now coach this exciting team. Watching former Mavericks starter, Delonte West, add his electrifying playing style to the Legends was alone worth the price of admission. If there are basketball fans out there that can t see paying the inflated NBA prices, the Legends are a clear and fun option.

My wife and I like basketball and have Mavericks seasons tickets, so we decided to see what a Texas Legends game was like. Here are a few thoughts. The announcers constantly talk during play of the game, which is annoying. The lines were long at the concession stand. We missed a big part of the 2nd quarter waiting or our food and drinks. On both sides of the court are areas where the kids can play. Wow there were a lot of kids that night and the noise was constant. That might be designed to simulate the noise of an NBA arena, but it was distracting, at least to me. With all that said, the prices were reasonable and it was entertaining, but I wished for more focus on the court of play, which is why we came there in the first place.

I enjoyed the Texas Legends game Saturday night. It was cool to see Del Harris in action. Nice to see the community involvement, and all the families. I didn't know Sam Perkins would be there, nice surprise. The in-game activities were well done by a very professional media staff. The only thing missing was Lamar Odom, making those of us who bought our tickets after the press release feel, and actually be ripped off by some never to be known ugliness. Sure it was announced hours before the game he would not be there. Not much consolation. Record crowd? Of course. Would have been a record anyway? Can't know, but by definition it never had been.

I purchased the tickets specifically to see Lamar Odom, who is one of my favorite players. I gave up my Mavericks tickets to go support Lamar. I understand how things happened and he was needed elsewhere. While disappointed I wouldn't see Lamar, I decided to give it a try anyway. When we arrived, someone came outside and said, "Follow me, I'll get you in faster." A crowd of us went through a side door and through the workout room and offices to get to the arena. This was the highlight of the night. Someone was in our seats as they were told it was general admission, sit where you like. They ended up moving, but I wish they hadn't. I am a basketball fan and would like to see the game if I spend $80 on tickets. We could not see anything through all of the kids playing in the area along the baseline. At one point, I didn't even know the game was on our end of the floor until I heard the announcer say that Sean Williams scored a basket. Now I know not to sit along the baseline, it would have been nice if we were warned that these seats have an obstructed view. We left at halftime, extremely disappointed.

I was really impressed by the Dr. Pepper Arena staff and the quality of entertainment this facility provided for the entire family. Our tickets qualified us for a free bar-b-que dinner in the Club which was totally unexpected. We felt extra special! There were activities for the kids that were fun to watch & lots of entertainment during the breaks in play. The Texas Legends dancers were top-notch, the game was exciting and overall, what a great bang-for-the-buck! We'll definitely buy tickets for another basketball game.

This a great event for the kids! There is a mini-basketball court and a spinning type ride for the kids to enjoy during the game. I was surprised to how open the arena was, you could literally walk around court-side during the game. The prices for the tickets and concessions is reasonable. The only thing that seemed to be a high price is parking ($10), otherwise very affordable. The game itself was uneventful, but it is a "farm" team. I would recommend this as a family outing, but not for a date due to the number of kids. Overall, not a bad way to spend a night out with the kids.

Great seats, unless you actually wanted to see a basketball game! When seated in these seats, you literally could not see any aspect of the court. I am 6' 2" and neither me or my son could see even a corner of the floor from these seats. I wouldn't give these seats away, completely worthless for this event.

This was our very first Legends game. My partner and I took my brother and nephew to the game as part of their birthday presents. We all had a great time. Overall, I think the game atmosphere was amazing. My girlfriend, 6 year old daughter, and myself had a blast at the game, meeting the players and cheerleaders. The kid's area was fun, but had little to offer a 6 year old girl really. The only issue I had with the entire evening occurred during the 3rd quarter when the hype man had all the kids parade up a section on the opposite side of the court from my seats. I had no idea where they were going or what they were doing. Within 60 seconds the hype man returned to the party pavilion but he had no children with him. My heart was racing as I ran around the arena in a panic looking for my 6 year old. She had been instructed to get stickers from all promotional booths in the arena for a contests. When she was in the kid's area, I was content because she was in eye shot. When the parade hit the aisle, I was uncertain what was going on. I did not feel comfortable having her walk around unsupervised on the opposite side of the arena. It was not something any parent would sign off on if they were given the details in advance. Aside from that heart racing moment, the game was a blasts.

If your kids like sports then this is a perfect way to spend an evening to let them enjoy themselves. If you enjoy Basketball that makes it even more perfect for you to have some fun also. The Legends are putting a great product on the floor, 84 points in the first half sums that up. We had a great time watching the first half & spent most of the 2nd half watching my kid have fun playing all the free games. Great inexpensive fun for the family.

The Houston Rockets D League team, the Rio Grande Vipers, were in town to do battle with my Legends in front of probably the largest crowd I ve ever seen at a Legends game. So with a crowd of 5,775 and an inflatable alligator bounce house on hand, the teams took to the court. Now pro basketball players come in all heights, but this Viper team certain shows they come in all widths as well. This played true when 6 10 185 pound power forward Raphael Putney tossed in the first points of the game with a three-point shot. I nearly expected the arena sound system to start playing the song Pictures of Matchstick Men when the rail thin player made the basket. I m not sure what song should be played when the Viper s beefy power forward 6 10 350 pound Joshua Smith lumbered out onto the court. Maybe Pat Benatar s song, You Better Run! There was no running away in this game though, for the mighty Legends jumped out to an early lead and kept it all through the first half. For size doesn t matter where the Legends are concerned. It s the hair! Legends star Chris Douglas-Robertson (better known as CDR) took the court with his blond dreads flying and slapped in 24 points, and former NBA (Hawks, Suns, Nets, & Pelicans) not to mention Greece and Australia player, Josh Childress brought his dynamic fro to the court to add another 17 points and 7 rebounds. With a 55 to 50 halftime lead the Legends left the court to a bunch of young ladies/girls from some local school of traditional Indian dance to bring an international flare to the evening s festivities. Of course I thought this display of India culture was to acknowledge Legends center, Maverick s 2015 draftee, and India native 7 2 290 pound, Satnam Singh. If such was, this was the only acknowledgement poor Satnam got during the game because he never left the bench. Oh well, maybe Satnam was resting up because his team seemed to be pretty darn good without him. Slightly cool hair guy, Jamil Wilson, might have contributed 19 points, but it was his razzle dazzle, 360-degree slam jam that made the high light film. As for the part when he fell on his butt afterwards, we ll just edit that little bit out. Another jam worth noting was the taking flight of 6 1 guard Patrick Miller to slam in another two points for the home team. Of course he kind of fell on his butt afterwards as well. Once again, we ll edit that part out. I would have like to have edited out the last part of the game because my mighty Legends were now trailing in the fourth quarter! With 6.8 seconds left in the game the home team was down 113 to 114, and after a quick foul they sent Viper 70% free throw shooter, Jarvis Threatt, to the line for two free shots. Threatt rips the first shot! However, the second shot rims out, and Childress pulls down the board and flips it to Legend s guard Tu Holloway for a long, open three-point shot. As the game buzzer blasts the ball sails through the air and sails and sails and sails………….and BONK! Yea, Legends lose 115 to 114.

If you actually want to watch a basketball game you can skip this. First , the basketball is pretty sub par. It's along the lines of a bad pickup game. Second, they play music THE ENTIRE GAME. It's annoying and makes it impossible to hear anything going on out on the floor. The whole experience is clearly geared towards entertainment, not basketball. You've been warned.

As an avid basketball fan I will say that my first D-League game was really really cool! It provided me a better perspective on what it really takes to make it to the NBA. The only problem I had was the continuous music that was playing throughout the game. It is a basketball game, not a concert.

I love the Legends and the arena, I even love the kids area (my kids are too old)....but I paid good $$$ to sit in row B and all we saw were people young and old standing and or going in and out of the stands at the bottom of the aisle. There should be one way to get into the each of the fanzones. Most people seem to be there on some promo or free deal. I will never sit that low again...it is not fair that I should be subjected to having to watch more people walking from end to end when I am trying to watch a game....You are wartering down the product, the only movement between the baskets should be on the court and courtside seat folks....and the soda taste like dirt!

First visit to legends BB at Dr. Pepper arena very dark even with lights on. Ball game played second fiddle to silly games, endless commercials over the PA system, loud music continually. Reminds me of a state fair midway. We sat close to floor hoping to hear player interactions. Nope, too much loud music. Liked the ball game, dislike the presentation. 1st to see the Legends. good product. nice tv screens cheerleaders, great seats at good prices, and access to the floor anyitme you want it. if you have really active kids, there is a lot for them to do. on each end of the court there are all kinds of kids activities. beware though: if your kids are younger you will have to stand in line with them and will miss much of the game to do all the activities. a really good size crowd for minor league. we bought the cheapest seats but were able to move closer. I will say, as with most sporting events, the music and volume is just too loud. its difficult to even talk in a normal voice.
