Matt Goss

Former teen heartthrob Matt Goss has come a long way since his denim-clad days as lead vocalist and one third of ‘80s boy band Bros. With twin brother Luke taking care of the drums and vocals and bass player Craig Logan, Bros enjoyed a string of hit singles before disbanding in 1992. At the peak of their powers, Bros smashed records across the world, including being the first group to sell out Wembley Arena for a 15-night concert series. Just around the corner from the arena, Matt led Bros into the iconic Wembley Stadium, becoming the youngest man to headline the venue - an achievement he still holds today.

I treated myself to a trip to Vegas for my 40th birthday. Top of the list was seeing Matt Goss and, boy, I was not disappointed. The Gossy room was intimate and welcoming and we had a great view even though we were right at the back. The door staff were very polite and showed us to our seats. We got chatting to other people in there and made some new friends too - the atmosphere was very friendly. The show itself is very engaging and whilst the ladies are swooning over Matt, he has cleverly provided something for the guys to look at too - the lovely Dirty Virgins - Matt's backing dancers. Matt chats to the audience, which makes it a very interactive experience and he puts the guys at ease too who may initially have felt a little awkward at accompanying their missuses to a Matt Goss show! He sings a mixture of his jazzed up old songs in a swing style, some of his new material and a brilliant rendition of Hotel California, in which he gets fully involved in jamming with his fantastic band. I popped to the ladies at one point and so powerful is his voice that is can still be heard outside the Gossy Room, and not a single note was missed. Overall, the tickets are reasonably priced, which affords great value for money, the mood was fun and uplifting, the man knows his art and if you give Matt a go you certainly won't go away disappointed.

The moment you walk into The Gossy Room you know you are going to have an intimate Vegas experience. The decor made me feel like I had gone back in time to a intimate Vegas lounge with the velvet drapes and gold pillars and table service. Table service was fast and with a smile so made you feel relaxed waiting for the show to start. I was not disappointed....... the band complete with horn section were fantastic and the Dirty Virgin dancers who are part of Robin Antins dance troop were stunning. Then we come to Mr Goss himself. He performed cover songs as well as his own material to perfection. His voice just captivates you and makes you feel like he is performing just for you and makes you want to sway along. Matt also engages with the audience by chatting and mingling with the crowd which the ladies love. They was quite a bit of screaming and come on eyes from the ladies, very cute to observe. It is truly a Vegas experience so if you have the chance please go and see it, you really won't be disappointed. You don't need to be a Bros fan to enjoy this show, it really is for everyone. Enjoy x

A must see show, absolutely FANTASTIC one of the best shows we have seen in all the years we have been visiting Las Vegas, the setting in the lounge of Caesars Palace was a master stroke, evoking feelings of old Las Vegas but with a modern twist, the man is a big big star, please, please go see him, you will not be disappointed.

"When will I be famous" indeed! Goss is big in Vegas - a resident performer in Caesar's Palace for some time, in the eponymous "Gossy Room". We went for the cheese factor (keen to see his post-Bros reincarnation) and found our expectations exceeded - a cosy, intimate setting, great live band, and smooth vocals (better than we remember from his Bros days!) covering a great set list. A great set, thoroughly enjoyed, and definitely recommended!

The venue is so intimate that it really feels like a private party with Matt Goss. The setlist is really mixed with some covers, some of his own stuff and of course a couple of Bros classics! Matt is great at getting the crowd involved throughout the show although the people we ended up sharing a table with didn't seem keen to interact - not sure why it's so difficult to clap or click your fingers in time to the music though... But it makes it a really fun night and then after the show a DJ sets up and Matt comes back into the room for a bit of an after party. So plan to spend the night. We were there on a night when his Mum was there too so it was extra special.

I had never heard of Matt Goss but saw some ads in the local papers that made me want to see the show. The space at Caesar's was not great but we ended up with great seats. Matt has a great voice and the band was quite good. It seemed like they had been together for some time. I recognized most of the songs that he sang but he did to some of his original songs. Even though I did not recognize the songs I did enjoy them. In addition to the music, there were 4 female dancers that made the show even better. Will definitely recommend the show to anyone that goes to Las Vegas

A great show - Matt pulled off a triumph. A true gent who made sure every member of the audience got a personal greeting. We were expecting a Rat Pack tribute but got about 50% of Matt's own material which was excellent.

Matt Goss is a sexy guy with very little singing talent. He attempts to hide that sorry reality with a 7-piece band, backup singers and smoke effects. Neither does his songwriting ability impress. (He performs many of his own compositions during this tortured act). What is laughable is how impressed he is with himself, as evidenced by all the inside jokes, mugging and smirking with his fellow performers. Goss is a shallow performer, who would be bumping his head as a lounge act. To have his own showroom, even an improvised remake of the Cleopatra's Barge dance-floor, shows how anything can be sold with sex in Vegas. The only thing this guy has in common with Sinatra is that he is trying to hide his receding hairline with a fedora. Pathetic. Just awful.

A very long wait to be seated and for Goss to finally appear on stage, 10:05 for a 9:30 show. He seemed cranky that the audience wasn't loving him enough, made several references to us being quiet. Band was great. Seating is very poor unless you buy $$ VIP. Overall, disappointed and wouldn't recommend.

Lets start with the facts. Matt Goss is a mediocre singer at best. He sings out of key, hits wrong notes, and has virtually no real technique. His style is fake and he painfully forces inflection into his voice. Moreover, he treats his band horribly. He doesn't even have the decency to introduce them on stage, even though they are the only thing that make his show worth watching. The room at Caesar's Palace is very nice, but having to wait 30 minutes to enter and then starting the show at least 30 minutes late is inexcusable. The band is good, with a strong horn section. The dancers are attractive, if somewhat pointless because of the small stage and venue. To make the claim that Goss is the king of Vegas or the next Sinatra is simply untrue and preposterous. He just doesn't have the raw talent of Sinatra, much less that of more than a dozen other singers in Las Vegas who blow him out of the water every night, even though he only performs twice a week. His obvious obsession with his image may have something to do with his lack of skill in his chosen craft. Perhaps a little less time in the make-up chair and a little more time in the practice room is a good idea for him. To be perfectly honest I found him to be incredibly hypocritical as well. He talks and talks onstage about what a gentleman he is and how he believes in civility and then proceeds to demean his band, singers, and dancers as well as the audience with crude sexual innuendo. Goss covers a number of songs in his show from Hotel California to I've Got the World on a String. He doesn't have the vocal range to properly sing most of these tunes, particularly World on a String and Luck be a Lady. No one wants to hear a singer straining to reach a pitch that is quite obviously beyond him. He, at least, can sing his own tunes, but unfortunately most of them are melodically pointless and harmonically ambiguous. Again, his band is the only thing that saves these from utter failure. I was also unimpressed with his attitude in general. He spends a great deal of time talking about himself and his life particularly emphasizing how great he is and all of the amazing things he's done, while simultaneously inferring that he has had an incredibly difficult life from which he has had to fight his way out of. Quite frankly, anyone who had a major label record deal at 17, and then went on to tour the world and spend millions of dollars should probably just shut their mouth about how hard their life was. Its condescending and pretentious. In conclusion, I'd like to make one final point. The production of the show is quite good, the room is very nice, the staff were good, the band is solid, the dancers are attractive, lights and sound were topnotch. If the producers were to remove just Goss and replace him with an actual singer who was engaging, talented, humble, creative, and funny they would have one hell of a good show on their hands. As it stands now, they do not.

Went to the show on Sat PM. 8/31 Audience was quite enthusiastic and seemed to like what they heard. I on the other hand, certainly acknowledge Matt Goss and his effort but the quality of the performance (his singing!) was not up to Vegas standards. He's a Brit (maybe that explains it) and his phraseology and timing was off. He hit s some horrible notes and since the band is quite loud (7-8 pieces with a big horn section) in a small room, it drowns out his off-key performance. Not really sure how he has been there for 5 or so years because there are many other singers in town worthy of that billing. You think (and he intimates) he s a Sinatra type (wears a hat swagger etc.) but believe me, Sinatra is turning around in his grave. Overall the show is just OK with a very loud band and an average (being kind) singer.

First saw MG at Hardrock in Vegas and they still haven't improved their line wait. I just expect to see a show that lasts longer than I have to wait in line to get seated. Over an hour for a hour show. The seating here is either very good or you get to sit away and below the stage level. Not good either. Be nice if they gave a discount price for those seats since you can only see the top half of the stage, when the dancers aren't totally blocking out the view. The band sounds great and Matt has a powerful voice. My advice, pay for VIP seating or make sure you don't get seated in the lower level. Bottom line I think it is a bit pricey for it's length.

It was a very good show though his mic needed to be turned up slightly (he was a little hard to hear). I was personally disappointed that he played so many covers, but he probably needs to do that in vegas to cater to the tourists who don't know his music (I don't know his music much either, but I'd rather here originals then Hotel California).

We saw Matt Goss On Sat. Night. The venue is Cleopatras Barge at Ceasars. The room was too small for the crowd and rather uncomfortable. Then the the show started 30 min late. Matt has a great voice and the band was good but the production was a little slow. Not bad, but really could use a new venue along with a little less talk and a little more action.

Matt's show is very classy - an intimate lounge show with a really classic "Vegas" vibe. He and his band perform some covers, some realy good new stuff and a couple of new takes on his older songs - something for everyone - all really good. There were people in the audience who knew of him from his Bros days and those that didn't - all enjoyed the show. My husband agreed it was a great show - and not just because of the dancing girls (who are also great)!!! If I had to pick fault - the show is not long enough!! We also met Matt a few hours before the show whilst walking round the hotel and he was lovely. I recommend picking up his CD after the show (Gossy) - really good. This show was one of the highlights of our stay in Vegas - and we love Vegas!! Wish we were still there - and if we were we would definitely check out this show again. Until next time!!

we stood in line and kept being told they'll let us in soon... eventually we got in and the show started at 10:05 pm. It was just getting started really and finished at 10:55 pm !! We had 50 mins of matt goss for $40 - i'd sooner have paid $60 and got an extra half an hour as this was way too short. By the time you take out his thank you's for coming etc.. he probably sung 6 songs. The unfortunate thing is he's a good singer - matt goss needs to move to a venue that gives him the full set time.

Having seen the show previously in Vegas in 2011 where we forgave the 20 min delay to the start of the show, the 2hr + length of the show without an interval was out of this world, Matt played and sang pitch perfect in the intimate theatre, he personally thanked each and every one in the audience by shaking their hand and came amongst us to play the piano - brilliant. Based on what we saw in 2011, we decided to take friends with us to see the show this year, June 2012. What a disappointment, the show again started late, was far shorter than 2011 - lasting just over 1 hour, there was no intimate piano playing, far fewer songs and we were seated in cramped conditions and felt as if Matt couldn't wait to get off stage - a feeling felt by others in the audience too - we all thought it was the interval when in fact it was the end of the show. How embarassing for us having hyped up the show to our friends. Certainly will not be recommending again! What a shame as we so enjoyed first time around. If this is the norm, do not waste your money - there are plenty of other shows in Vegas.

Forget Bros, those days are over, this is Matt Goss - the brilliant, perfectly styled soul-jazz singer. Matt turned out some amazing tunes drawing from old Vegas legends, some new variants of his Bros hits, which were hardly recognisable and all the better for it, but also some brilliant new material which he has written himself. Matt interacts brilliantly with the audience, showing his warm personality and genuine gratitude for having the opportunity to share his talent with you. The audience, on the busy Friday night I was at Caesers, was a mix of Brits and Americans, young and old, and I can tell you - everyone enjoyed themselves. There's a waitress table service throughout, and for the boyfriends and husbands tagging along there are 4 beautiful dancers to keep you entertained. Give me the air-fare and I'd be back in a shot. This is also a great value night out in Vegas terms. Go Go Go!!!

We arrived early due undeserved seating, we were shown to some nice seat toward the rear of cleopatras barge. Sadly after sitting down for 30mins & enjoying our first drink, we were told to move to other seats in the far back corner, due to VIPs who decided to watch last minute. The show was ok playing the usual rat-pack hits, but Matt Goss is nothing special, he looked bored & lacked interaction with the small intimate crowd. We collected our tickets and then went to the bar next door for a drink whilst everyone lined up outside the Cleopatra Barge. It was only when we were shown to our seats that realised why?? It is not seat allocated so you must get in early rto get a seat at the front section. Matt's voice was better than I expected it to be and he performed a mix of covers and original stuff. I was expecting more swing songs as he had been hailed as the English Frank Sinatra and his costume is the DJ suit and hat. The show only had one set and he did not perform an encore so I felt a bit short changed. The Viva Elvis show was a full 2 hour in one hit show.

The show was fantastic, and meeting Matt after in the 'greet and meet' was a lovely end to the night. He is so down to earth and seemed like a great guy. The Gossy Room had great music after the show and we stayed there until closing. The music in the Gossy Room is mainstream pop and RnB. Matt's show is more 'rat pack' and incredibly enjoyable. Would reccommend to anyone. And compared to other Vegas shows, it is an absolute bargain! You might thinks its a girly event, but went with my hubby and he loved it too. A great night out.

Matt Goss was excellent, I never realised what a great singer he was. The venue added to the experience, as does the small number of guests giving the whole show a intimate feel to it. I would go again, it was that good.

The show ia a total rip off. Matt Goss show Is not worth 50 bucks a pop. Matt does ok singing covers of some older tunes, but his own songs are weak.

I attended the Nov 18 Matt Goss concert - what a great show! That was my first trip to Las Vegas and I can't think of a better concert I could have seen. It had that "old" Vegas swagger going down, big time. The band was kickin', the backup singers were all over it and the dancers were, uh, smoking hot! Matt had the crowd eating out of the palm of his hands. He was equally fantastic singing the old standards like "Luck Be A Lady Tonight" and his newer material such as "Evil" and "Lovely Las Vegas". It may not be your overly hyped, big venue concert, but you will be hard-pressed to find a more enjoyable evening than Matt Goss in concert.

It was great venue, an intimate room with chairs and tables at various levels around the stage with waitresses serving drinks throughout the performance. Matt Goss was truly fabulous, he has an amazing voice and did various covers from Stevie Wonder to Frank Sinatra in addition to some of his own material. Matt encouraged the audience to participate all the way through, so the atmosphere was brilliant. Strongly recommend to anyone who fancies seeing a show whilst in Vegas.

I have been fortunate enough to see Matt at the Royal Albert Hall in London but this was a different kettle of fish. The gig was intimate and the setting really showcased the Vegas style of the Show. Matt gave everything and the Dirty Virgins supplied the hot support! This gig is such great value for a cracking' night out. My friends from London and Calgary, Canada partied in the bar afterwards. It was a great nite. Love the American party vibe. So much fun. Thank u Matt. I can't wait to go back!!!

Matt Goss has still got it...in fact I don't think he ever lost it. The location was so intimate and the set was amazing. Matt's voice was brilliant and I have to admit I had a tear in my eye when he sang a couple of old Bros songs. Spellbound from the second he walked on stage. Both he and his dancers worked the room and made everyone feel part of the set, Matt didn't work the outside of the room which was a little disappointing but his dancers did. The set was a mix of old and new remixed songs so everyone got a chance to sing along. We waited for ages after the gig to get a pic with Mr G but he didn't appear...just means I'll have to go back to get a pic with the man himself :) A brilliant night, not to be missed if you're in Vegas.

2nd time I have seen the show and it was great again. Matt really had to work hard this time as the audience were a bit cool - probably cos there were more if us Brits there! Didn't shake our hands thus time which was a shame but makes me appreciate that more from my last time. Great set, great music and overall great performance. Tickets very reasonable. Dont be put off by the Bros connection, Matt has an excellent voice and performs some classics as well as a few excellent songs penned by him.

Most Brits would say Matt Goss, the guy from Bros!!!! I would reply yes, go and see him and have a fantastic night. The venue is intimate and there is not a bad table in the house. It is just like the Vagas of yesterday with an up close and personal feel and atmosphere. Having seen variious shows in Vegas this is one I would definitely see again. Matt is a genuine guy and gets the audience involved. His band are amazing and extremely talented and the dances are a sight for sore eyes! If your in Vegas on a Friday or Saturday night go and see this show you will not be disappointed. For those of us not old enough to remember the Vegas of the 50's & 60's this will give you feel for how it must have been. Great show Matt, thanks

Wow what a show, it was worth every single penny, Matt's performance was spot on, the dancers sexy sexy , The venue was small which is great, every seat had a great view, We went on saturday 1st oct and got a two for one special not on the tickets but on the brothers, luke was also there, sitting right next to us. Matt and Luke stayed for ages talking and having photo's with everyone, We will be back in 2014 hope your still there. Loved every minute, what a show.

The Matt Goss show in Caesar's Palace is not to be missed! Matt's amazing voice belts out some old Vegas classics as well as some of his own material, all with that Vegas swagger so famous on the strip. He makes the show something special with his interaction with the audience, and his voice really has to be heard to be believed. There's something for everyone in this show, all done with old style Vegas class! Go along and enjoy a great evening!

Matt Goss at cleopatra's bardge (the gossy room) is fantastic we managed to get seats right on the dance floor in front of Matt and he was amazing. A small venue maybe 160 seats. A great live act and the best night out we had in vegas! You can meet Matt after the show and he is one of the nicest performers I have ever met. The ticket to see him is so cheap compared to every other show in vegas yet to us it was the bargain of all the nights out you can have. A very good voise and performer GO!

We bumped into Matt by chance in Ceasers and got put onto the guest list by Bass Man so was a free night out whilst in Vegas.. The show was great, intimate and met Matt afterwards which was a bonus for the wife - by then already weak at the knees!! It's a great night out and worth the $40 entrance.. We are planning a return in 2012 and will go again.

Show starts at about 9.45 but get inline early to get a good seat. We queued from 8pm and got a good seat. But don't expect an allocated seat as it is general admission and they do tend to try and overfill the room. So you will be cramped up. Despite all that Matt Goss was very good. Not all swing stuff, some Bros, some rock, some of his own new stuff and some reggae (very strange that bit) He really knows how to entertain and engages well with the audience. A great Vegas show in the old nightclub style.

I was unsure what to expect from the show as i hadn't followed matt since his Bros days. However, i wasn't disappointed. The show was sensational, made even better by the intimacy of the venue. Matt entertained the audience with ease and proved to be a fantastic showman. Would definitely see again if i was back in Vegas.

Five stars is not enough to give this amazing performer! He was energetic and funny and kind. He greeted his fans afterwards and took pictures with them. His voice and his talent is amazing and his band right there with him just blew up the stage as well. It was an amazing show and so much like having a big party of your own. I would completely recommend Matt Goss to everyone. He does have dancers called the dirty virgins who go out and play with the audience and tease the boys, it was great fun to see.
