My mom and I took my almost 2 and almost 1 year older to the Chicago show last night as the start of their birthday weekends. It was amazing! My usually shy 2 year old danced and helped sing every song. He waved his light up wand we bought there in the air.and could not believe that his friends-The Super Readers-were there right in front of him. My 1 year old danced, clapped, and sang her way through the show. As for the show itself, it was very organized and FUN! There was a short intermission, which was perfect for the kids. At first I thought the tickets were a little expensive for a kid's show...but it was so worth it! I just soon save our eating out money for a month just so they can have this experience again.

This was the first time we actual went to an event like this. My husband and I took our daughter and she didn't take her eyes off the stage. Now all she talks about is Super Why and the character and how they came out the TV and became real. We are going to see Sesame street Elso make music live next. Thanks Ticket master.

Very age appropriate for preschool. My daughter (age 2 1/2) is a huge Super Why fan and she was mesmerized. We had a fabulous time, but it didn't have a lot of redeeming value for adults (other than the joy of watching our kids), unlike some shows designed for all audiences. There's nothing wrong with that, as long as you know what you're getting into. We did the VIP party pack also so we could meet the characters. It was okay, but probably not worth the extra expense unless your child is really into the characters, especially since you have to pay for everyone (including the adults). The "healthy snacks" were bags with dried apples and veggie sticks they gave out as you left and only to the children. We did it more for the better seats, which I think did make a difference with such a young kid. All in all, though, it was a fun show and the meeting of the characters was well organized.

We enjoyed the show very much! My son was engrossed in the show. I think he was taking it all in. And after it was done he started crying. Because he didn't want to leave the Super Readers.

My kids loved this show, but the production itself needs some help. There were costume malfunctions, it was a little too loud, the break was a little too long, and the masks of the characters were poorly done. The songs were fun, the storyline was exciting (loved the aerial dancer), and the kids didn't notice the costume inadequacies. But the 5 year old, who isn't particularly noise-sensitive, and who was totally fine way up front at Yo Gabba Gabba, covered her ears for 80% of the show, and the 2 year old, who LOVES Super Why, got so bored at intermission that she was trying to leave. With some tweaks this show could be much better, but it was still fun for young kids.

Hardly any props. Most of the show was in front of a huge screen. Kind of pricey for a 1 hour show. It was 30 minutes, then a 30 minute intermission, then another 30 minutes. My kids did enjoy it overall though, ages 4 and 7.

My 3 year old son is a hugh fan of Super Why and we had tickets in the 4th row from stage. He loved everything but the loud explosions that threw confetti and streamers into the audience. We fixed that by moving to the balcony for the second half of the show and my son loved it up there just as well.

Loved the show. My daughter and nephew danced throughout and I loved the fact that there was plenty of songs and it was interactive. We had VIP package so meeting the cast was awesome! Great photo ops and the cast was very baby friendly and allowed enough time for us to get pics in. The only reason I didn't give a 5 was because the snacks were horrible and we only could take pics with one cast member at a time verses the whole cast in one pic but I do understand that that may have taken forever with the number of ppl that we're backstage. Great show overall tho!

Although the show was great, we bought into the VIP party pack which promised a meet and greet with snacks. The party consisted of scene setters as back drops for photos, hot bottled water for snacks, and not all cast showed for pictures. If you want to pay extra for great seats you won't be disappointed, just keep in mind that's what you're paying for!

I took my 5 year old daughter and she loved the show. It was high energy and colorful, with confetti and good lighting. The video screen was a bit grainy, but we were sitting up close. I thought that the storyline of the show was good and it was appropriate for even the very young (no scary parts). It was a bit loud, but we were sitting right in front of a speaker. The actors were choreographed well and had a lot of energy. We really enjoyed the acrobat. The show didn't last very long - the first intermission was after only 30 minutes. But, actually, for the audience it was probably the perfect length. I would highly recommend the show.

The production was just ok. At one point, Princess P's wig fell off, exposing her bald, Velcro covered head. It was obvious that this was not supposed to happen. Right after, part of the giant video screen wasn't working. It just made it seem like it wasn't the most professional of productions. We paid good money for seats, they should have working props. My 2-year-old still loved it and that's what matters.

This show was a cute musical version of the Super Why tv show for kids. It was around one and a half hours long with a 10-15 minute intermission so little kids and toddlers will not lose interest and will stay focused. My 3 year old son loved it . There are a few loud noises that might startle babies so I dont recommend for kids under 2-3 years old.

We took our grandchildren and son and daughter in law to this show at the Beacon Theater .We were celebrating our 4 year old beautiful granddaughter's birthday! Our grandchildren were all excited and really loved the show! The only complaint I have is that the performance is only 1 hour long and has an intermission. I really don't see the need for an intermission when the peformance length is not long, and the tickets were not that inexpensive. But then again, you can't put a price on making a child happy! Abby will have special memories of her 4th Birthday! All in all it was an excellent show and we all really enjoyed it. I would recommend this show.

The characters all wore oversized head pieces that didn't change when they were "talking" or singing" and the producers thought, therefore that they could get away with no live singing or dialogue -- everything was taped. Badly. The "set" consisted of a screen behind the characters. The storyline made no sense. The producers must have tried to save even more money by hiring crappy singers to record the songs because the singing was horrible. If your kid really likes Super Why then spend the dough to buy the videos and toys. You'll probably spend less and your kid will be much happier.

My 27 month old daughter absolutely loved the show because she is a huge Super Why fan. That said, they started the show promptly at 6 pm even though there were still throngs of people outside at the Will Call Window. Perhaps they could have waited. The show was way too short for the money we paid. If you take out intermission, it was barely an hour.

Was supposed to start at 6pm, show started at 6:20pm. Intermission was at 6:45pm til 7pm then show ended half an hour later.. Definitely not worth paying 50 some odd dollars. Didn't leave the theatre satisfied although my daughter did love the show... Didn't like that it looked as if it was a girl in the Super Why costume because the way the character was moving was just not how the character on the show acts... I would not recommend this show unless you get an amazing discount!

Super Why was adorable, but I got the feeling the show producers forgot who their audience was. The show was set for 6pm. It started around 620. After 25 min, there was a 15-20 min intermission. Followed by 20 more minutes. So the show ended after 730. For a show for toddlers, starting late, with a long intermission, its really not considering your audience. So many kids were exhausted walking out. Just want future parents to know, while they say 50min performance, its more like 90 and plan accordingly with your kids.

I took my 5 year old son and 4 year old nephew to see Super WHY Live. They absolutely loved it! Seeing the characters live, the high energy, the colorful stage set-up, singing along with the great familiar songs. . . what's not to like?! They were captivated from the beginning to the end. Great message at the end, but I won't tell you because it'll blow the puzzle. The show itself was just the right length. After about 35 minutes a perfectly-timed intermission happens which allows for potty breaks and time to get out of your chairs and get the wiggles out. The show (including intermission) lasted about 1 hour and 20 minutes. PERFECT! If you're able to catch it in your town, I would highly recommend that you take your little one(s) to see it.

Our 2 year old loved the show. He kept his eyes on the stage the entire time. I would highly reccommend taking your little ones to see this show. He does not say a lot of words yet, but he was yelling out with all the other little ones at the right times. The line for the soveniers was too long. Maybe they should have had a couple of tables with the same items to help speed things along. Or had a table set up that you could see what was available once you got to the main table. You stood in line a long time and when it got to your turn for your purchase, you were a bit rushed as they were very busy.

I was not impressed at all. Accoustics were mediocre at best. Theatrics were not at all what I expected for a show of this magnitude. We have seen Sesame Street several times and The Wriggles and it was no where near that level of a show. The timing for the interactiveness with the children was timed properly. It did not give time for the children to come up with the answer. It started 25 minutes late and only lasted an hour.

The Event itself was probably perfect for the age group attended though it was 45 minutes late starting which when you have 2-5 year olds, it is an extremely long time to wait for a show to start. The price of merchandise was highly inflated but that is to be expected. The line for the merchandise was very long and since I thought the show would start at 3:30 pm I opted NOT to stand in line before the show. I did go out at intermission and stand in a still long line. Until I reached the front of the table, there was only one person behind the table....REALLY!?! I second individual did join the first as I reached the front. I bought a very cheaply made cape and mask for $30 and a light-up toy for $20. I did say OVERPRICED! We made extra for VIP which included a lame "meet the Super Why Team" after wards. It was marketing for their new cereal.

My husband and I took our 2 year old to his first live show. He loves this show on TV and thought he would like this live performance. It was well put together, it has all the live characters and the larger screen to help with the performance. My son would not take his eyes off the event the entire time. He was memorized, he thinks they are real and cried when they left the stage wanting more! They did a great job and would highly recommend for small children. They sent a great message at the end of the performance. All the children looked like they were having a great time. They even shot off streamers and confetti at the end! WOW he was amazed! The music was also loud and engaging for the kids. The only part I would recommend to this performance is to take out the intermission. The show is not that long where they need a break. The kids get restless then.

The show was good, about an hour long but the after party was terrible. The advertisement indicated "after party" with refreshments/healthy snacks. The after party was in some room in the back that was not decorated. There were balloons on the FLOOR... no helium. The refreshments were a table that had bottled water stacked on it and the CHILDREN received a white lunch bag with two snacks in it as you left the party. There were no refershments for ADULTS. The ticket price for adults was the SAME price as the children... so of course I expected refershment also. The "meet" part involved the four main characters coming in the room and standing/posing in front of four backdrops for photos. There was a table with a couple of Super Why coloring pages on it. Not enough for every child. And some portable crawl through/tunnel pop up for the children that looks like someone brought it from home. And that was it. See the show but save your money on the "after party". I was quite disappointed! Never again.

We took our 20m old son that adores the show and the live show was no different. He rarely sits on my lap for long. But he sat still and his eyes were glued on the show the whole time. We bought the tickets which included the after party and I would recommend it as well. Our son was afraid of the characters up close but we still got photos with him in our arms. He enjoyed being with all the other kids and playing with the balloons and tents they had all over the party room. He may be too young to remember it, But we have lots of photos and we will always remember his first live performance.

Overall, the show was fun but a bit too short. The first part was 30 minutes and then a 30 minute intermission (too much time to keep kids busy) followed by a final 30 minutes for part 2. Afterwards, the cast was very helpful and did well with the kids, even offering to take photos with our cameras. The area at the Orpheum was a bit small to house everyone though. Still, the time my daughter had was priceless. Would I go again? Probably.

The show was pretty good. It started off on a good note and had potential; however, I thought it was going to be more like the t.v. show - where there is a problem and they find a book and "jump" into it to find the answer; this was not the case. The answer was only three letters, so I knew it wasn't going to be a very long show and for the price of the tickets, I expected a much longer show - more than the hour that it was. Instead of a problem, it was a question. Then each character went on to do a musical number to show how "great" they are. I Wish they stuck to the fundamentals of the television show. My kids enjoyed the show, but it definitely lacked the great learning qualities the t.v. show offers.

I wasn't sure what to expect from this "party package" but let's just say it was one of the best decisions I've ever made. My children and I arrived very late to the show due to some heavy rain so we missed the first half. We got to our seats just in time for the second half, which was good, but it's the party that really made our day! When we walked in to a sea of balloons my daughters immediately started jumping up and down with excitement. From that point on, I just told them to go have fun...and they did! They kicked the balloons around for a while, then they stopped at one of the craft tables and decorated their own princess crowns. My youngest picked purple just like Princess P! After that they hopped over to the mask making table and decorated superhero masks. My oldest covered hers with pretty, shiny jewels while her little sister wanted hers green, just like Wyatt's. As soon as they were done, an announcement was made that the Super Readers were on their way. We were close to the front of the line so the girls got a great view of the characters as they walked into the party. They couldn't believe they were real! When it was our turn, one of the helpers offered to take the photo so the whole family could get in the picture which I thought was so sweet! After that, the girls ran around and made a few friends while I just snapped photo after photo (yes, I'm that mom). It was the cutest thing watching them have such a blast. When we got in the car, they wouldn't take their crowns off. They demanded wearing them to school today, too! If it wasn't for the party, their Super Why experience would have only lasted 20 minutes. I'm so glad I paid extra for it!

I am so happy I decided to take my two year old daughter to see Super Why Live! She watches the show each day while singing along and LEARNING. I hesitated thinking she would be too young but not at all, it was perfect. The look on her face when they came out...hands on her face with an open mouth, she was in complete shock. Mesmerized through the whole show and this two year old never sits still. The timing of the intermission was perfect for us as she had to go potty and we didn't have to miss the show. Perfect length, perfect show, perfect venue (never been to the Akron Civic Theatre and was pleased)! T-shirts were only $20 so I decided to get her one, she loves it (I figured they would be $30 or $40 and planned on NOT buying one)! We had such a great time, and at the end she said "oh thank you mom, I loves you so much"! Priceless moment made me cry.

My 3 yr old son was in love and was in tears when it was time to leave - he loved it. The baby was also in awww and sat and watched most the show. I thought they could have performed the show a little better - less of a TV screen for drama in the back and more props, but after all it is a TV show. I guess I'm a little use to real broadway shows with more theatrics. If your child likes Super Why, I would recommend it - was pricey, but the kids were in love so I'm a happy mom!

Show was good, with a good positive message for the kids. Little shorter program than what I was expecting, but my son had a blast all the same. He got to high five Woofster when he walked thru the aisle in second half so it made his night!

We have seen Sesame Street Live 3 times and love it. Very engaging and well done. Based on that we had some expectations that it would be a decent show - not the case. We were bored....the only thing that kept my 3 yr old's attention was the $20 light spinner we bought him and the $10 sippy/snack cup. Honestly, both great purchases since he plays with them both all the time. I would not go back to this show and would not recommend it at all. But again, that's comparing it to the great Sesame show....

The sound was terrible! For a crowd that large, the actors should speak slower so we can understand what they're saying and slow it down so children can hear and grasp what they're saying. The confetti coming down was a fun touch! It would have been better if ALL those who bought a ticket were blanketed with the stuff and not just the first few rows.

Wow, they took a cute cartoon about solving problems and took all of the problem solving out and just sang filler songs repeatedly for the rest of the time. There is a song about needing just one more letter that goes on and on. My kids were entertained, which is why I gave it 2 and not 1 star, but I was very disappointed. A very well done cartoon turned into a very poor live performance.

For over $500 for "VIP" tickets I expected more. The show was awful! It started late and then just when the story line got going, there was an intermission!! It was only 20 minutes into the performance!!! In the end, the whole show lasted approx 45 minutes. The "after party" included cereal and coloring for the kids, which I could have stayed home, saved the $500 and did coloring and eat cereal in the comfort of my own home. I am appalled they charged that money for nonsense.....I didn't even pay as much for a big name concert ticket as I did for this so-called show. Such a disappointment!

My son had a wonderful time at Super Why. Parking was easy, venue was quick to get into. The show started on time and kept him engaged. He was able to stand in the aisle and dance. We'd definitely go to see it again.

We took our 4.5 year old daughter. She loves to watch Super WHY on Sprout and was familiar with the show. It was very similar to the TV show and had some of the same songs. It had a mix of live action characters and a video with the animated characters. After about 35 minutes there was an intermission and the total show start to finish including the intermission was about one hour and 20 minutes. I think it was just the right length for that age group.

The show was for children but I definetly think that it would of been better for them. The only reason that I gave it 3 stars was because it was an hour and a half :-) more than enough time for the children and the adults to endure.

It was a fun show for kids, but it was definitely short (the whole event was about 75 minutes, and that included a 20 minute intermission). It would've been great if the characters would've walked around the audience for a few minutes and said hi to all the children. Simple stuff like that is usually what matters the most for the little ones.

This was a great show for me, my daughter and wife. The transition from the animation on the screen to actual dressed actors/actresses was seamless and well-rehearsed. The show had a nice 20-minute intermission after 30 minutes, then completed the show afterward, so the kid's attentions stayed on the program (as I noticed only a few kids with time-outs during the intermission). Laser lights, confetti/streamers, and plenty of sing-alongs will keep your young one occupied and leave them wanting more (much to my disappointment at the end of the show). I would definitely recommend to anyone.

Our grandson, who is 4 years old, was mesmerized. He loved every minute of it. He sang and danced most of the time. The fact that there was an intermission was difficult. He just wanted to see the show. Also, it was hard for him to see the show because of adults seated in front of us. He did have to sit on my lap, uncomfortable for me and him.

This was a fun show, definately geared towards young kids, and a good first show. The show started a few minutes late and had a longer than expected intermission (the intermission was about as long as the 1st part of the show). The visual effects were low budget, but convincing enough that young kids would appreciate them. The $12 lemonade and $20 flashing light toy were standard fare, but it would have been nice if they sold more items that were specific to the Super Why characters (stuffed animals, dolls, etc).

My son is 2 years old and when I take him to events (i.e. circus, movies, etc.) he usually doesnt behave and wants to jump around and never stays still... Well it was the complete opposite at this event. As soon as we got in he was GLUED to the performance and characters. It seems like where ever you sat was a pretty good view & I thought the performance was great and always as awesome as it is on television. I'd definitely recommend to friends, family, everyone.
