Such a great show. He reminisced. Played lots of the songs he wrote including many he fails to get credit for. Praised other musicians like Hank 3. So glad I got to see this legend.

I don't enjoy Kid Rock's music. He apparently doesn't find enough success in Rock, so now he is creeping into country music. David Allan Coe sang song after song that he seems to have collaborated with Kid Rock to write (or that Kid Rock has on a CD). If you like Kid Rock and you want to hear an old washed out musician sing his music, this is the concert for you. If you like the golden oldies of country music, pop in a CD and save the money.

What a treat to see a "Legend" ! It's been many years and missed opportunities to see DAC, so when the time came, I dropped everything to go to see him. David Allan Coe is a true show business artist. The audience needs to give the respect he warrants, and stay in tune to whats happening before them. I am so happy to have witnessed a man, who at 78, can still keep the poetry in motion. I would say, if you have not seen a David Allan Coe show, get to one of the few that he's doing. Go for his show and take it all in, lots of fun. Thanks Mr. Coe !!!

To those who criticize him for shutting down early, please remember he may have saved someone's life. Jomaxx it wasn't cowardice or being a good husband that led to his shutting down the show, I know him and have witnessed him stop a problem in the audience when possible and when not possible YES he would cut the show short. Good for him! He is a seasoned performer who cares enough about his fans not to want to see people seriously hurt or killed because he didn't shut down when it was in his power to do so, All entertainers should do the same. Too many people don't know how to behave in public and think they can do anything, anytime. By the way for anyone attending his shows in the future HIS RULE is "if you want to sit in the first three rows you must stay seated during the entire show and no throwing beer bottles in the air". If you can't live with that you are welcome to move back in the audience. If you can't do either of these you are welcome to leave, He or some of his crew or security will show you the door if you can't find it. Have a great time at his shows. I also witnessed B.B. King stop the show at his final Homecoming Show in Indianola, MS to settle the crowd down a little. It worked for him too.

While I have seen him last year and I knew he isn't a great show, to me he is a living legend and I will continue to go as long as he plays here. That being said, there was a fight in the crowd and hour into the show, his wife got upset and walked off the stage. He being a good husband played 1 more song and when she wouldn't return he then left the stage abruptly. Um, you are a country rebel, you have never seen a fight at one of your shows? I mean come on man!!!!

It was great to hear David Allan Coe blaze through a medley of hits, especially since I'd never seen him before. He opened with a trio of Merle Haggard songs before racing into his own songs, with his band desperately trying to keep up. The show was really starting to smoke when a fight broke out. At that point, it seems like Coe was happy to wrap up the set and leave, which was sad since the band seemed to have more fuel in their tank.

Was SO excited to see DAC; he is a legend and has been a favorite of mine for years. But, was very disappointed on 6/22/16 when we saw him at B.B. King's in NYC. He cut the show short ( less than an hour). We think the reason was that a fight had broken out in the crowd( not a huge fight & there was security to reslove it). When the fight happened he left the stage and when he came back and said his wife didnt want him to play anymore. Then he did a shortened version of 'You Never Even Called Me By My Name', and left the stage for good. Not even an hour long. So justbto be clear, the man who sings all the songs about his time in prison and how rough & tough he is, stopped his show because of a few rowdy fans. Completely unacceptable to the fans who paid for a full show. So disappointing.

DAC still has an amazing strong voice at age 76. And he really sang, it was not a recording. Only downside was that some other artist played for one hour the opening act. His performance lasted just over one hour. But it was worth it.

Reading reviews of other shows I knew he was going to play some covers. After 7 or 8 songs I only recognized 2 and I know a good deal of his material. After a few songs I told my buddy that if he played one more Kid Rock song we were leaving, he began to play picture and we left. After all those years of material he should hold true to what he has accomplished and not play others material.

I had a great time with seats right up next to center stage on the end of the table, when you choose your seats, I would recommend getting them on the end of the table, it gets a little crowded later in the show. 8 Second Saloon is your typical country bar, a bit divey like the rest, but no reason not to go to a show there. Staff was OK, I had no problems.

DAC came out and he needed to use a cane to get to his stool and also some help from his wife. That may be left over from his car accident; don't know. His wife then left the stage and did not come back (DAC said after that she wasn't feeling well). He opened with Ramblin' Fever and ran through a nice set that included a lot of hits and some other ones I didn't know but they sounded good. It was a 3-piece band - DAC with his guitar, another guitarist, and a drummer. He did a "songwriter's portion" of the show in which he sang songs he wrote for Johnny Cash, George Jones, Johnny Paycheck and Tanya Tucker. His voice is still pretty good for a man 76 years young. The sound was good after some early initial problems that were fixed quickly. As someone who grew up listening to DAC in the 70's I expected the crowd would be mostly people in their 50s and 60s and I was pleasantly surprised that most of the audience consisted of young fans in their 20s who appreciate true traditional country music.

The concert was awful! His wife sang half the time & she can't carry a tune. We literally had to go to the back because of the pitch of her voice. When he did sing it wasn't his own songs & he never finished a whole song. The concert only lasted an hour in which I was glad of. We never heard his most popular songs either. It was a waste of time & money!

I have been a huge DAC fan for 40 years. I believe he has one of the great voices in country music. His renditions of his own songs and some great covers make up a big playlist on my iPod. This concert at BB Kings was a huge disappointment. While his voice was OK, he rambled all over the place sometimes only doing 1 or 2 verses of songs, then segueing into something obscure. Half the time, it sounded like he was making up the lyrics as he went along. I know he's old but he could have been much better. A set list of his great songs sung in their entirety with a guitar player and a decent rhythm section would have made all the difference. I'm sorry I went. It just tarnished the memory of one of my all time favourites Not worthy of a BB King's concert

The only real reason to see DAC anymore is if you re like me and grew up on the man. Most of the people there were in my boat, owned a couple of his albums, knew his classics, as well as his underground. He played stuff most of the crowd didn t recognize and his set was over pretty quick before some burley guy had to help him off stage. If you ve never seen him, do it soon. If your use to the old DAC, its worth skipping.

I love David Allan Coe, the legend, the outlaw, and especially the song writer. Davids voice has lasted through all the years of a hard led, and leaded, life. His great talent as one of country outlaw music's greatest writer/entertainers will always stand on the top of my list. That being said it was almost painful to see my legend outlaw with a bad rug and barely enough energy to make it through a set that just three years ago at a north Texas venue was still entertaining and left this writer with fond memories and wonderful stories that I will be sharing for many years to come. The venue, Wonder Ballroom, was a good one for enjoying my artist of choice for the evening but would be much better suited to a winter concert. It was so hot that any enjoyment we may have been experiencing was lost in the extremely uncomfortable heat.

What else can you say but that David Allen Coe still puts on a heck of a show even at his age. He will be playing as long as he is able. The O's who opened for him were awesome as well. A pair of very talented musicians with a bright future ahead of them. The House of Blues is just stunning. i can't say enough about the venue. Very comfortable and easy access. We will for sure be returning for many more concerts there. Especially if its DAVID ALLEN COE.

We saw DAC At the altar bar. The atmosphere was great and we enjoyed the Beagle Brothers warming up. That set the mood. Then the great David Allan Coe performed, he did all his classics, sounded great and just jammed his traditional hits one after the other all night long. Coe is starting to look alittle old and slower on stage but he definetely has not lost it in the voice and ability to deliver a stone cold country song. It was a great night and I would recommend anyone who likes his music to see one of these shows. We loved the close casual atmosphere offered by the Altar Bar. One of the best shows I have seen in a long tim.

Sadly, even legends reach a point of no return. DAC should retire. He cannot walk, cannot play, cannot sing. He has precisely one chord progression he can play. His vocal range is about six notes. The audience performed better than he did. It was good to see him before he retires or passes away but the entertainment value was zero. $84 down the drain. BTW - "Mrs. Coe" does not make up for the shortcomings.

David Allen Coe showed up 2 1/2 hours late and played for 1 hour. And the set was one big medley, so he never even sang an entire song. He s clearly too old to tour. The venue is very cool and service was good but minature martinis were $19, so a real one would be $38. A new high water mark.

I've been listening to this guys music for the past 35 years. The show was ok BUT I think it was toned down for the Whiskey House. I didn't care for the opening act at all....was way to long for a one man show. I was somewhat disappointed with Coe for not using his own songs for an opener ie, Sun of the South what have been a good rocker. Also, didnt come to hear Merle Haggard or Waylon Jennings songs. Didnt care for Mrs Coe's envolvement either. But I can't say I was totally disappointed either, I happened to have lots of his cd's and listen to his songs frequently. Oh yes, did I say I was a fan!!!

We had a good time at the event, but not because the music was so awesome. I have been a fan since college in the 70's, and we always listened to DAC. I know all the old songs by heart and was really, really disappointed we didn't get to hear one full song from the past. It was nice to hear songs he had writen that no one knew was his song, but giving a little sympathy for those who wanted to hear something, anything, from the past would have been nice. I enjoyed seeing him only because I have heard him via tapes or DVD's over the years, and I could still hear some of the tones I was so familiar with. DAC came out with a four prong cane, and someone on each side of him, helping him sit down and bringing his guitar. Once he was settled, he was fine and took no breaks but also didn't come back on the stage afterward. I was just happy he did show up and wasn't so stoned or drunk he didn't play, like I was told he would often do at concerts.

I can't believe what I just saw...or didn't see. I have never seen a concert where the musicans didn't play on a majority of the songs. What were they even doing there? Maybe David Allen gets lonely on stage. Ridiculous drummer, guitar player..just terrible. I can honestly say I've never seen a worse performance. David Allen showed brief glimances of talent, certainly his song writing ability is/was awsome. He should just stay in the old folks home. The band..get a real job!

Had a great time. The venue was the perfect size, not a bad seat in the theater. David's sound guy could of been better, there was a lot of static on his guitar. But David sounded great!

David Allan Coe was amazing! He put on a great show. Even at his age, his voice is still as sharp a young man! The band was great as well. Including his lovely wife who sang with him on several songs. I would recommend any David Allan Coe fan to go and see his show! He is truly a living legend who continues to put his heart and soul into every performance!

Great show! He sang an awesome mix of old songs, new songs, and songs he wrote for other artists.

He went from one song to the next without skipping a beat. He was on stage for 90 minutes. He told a few short stories mostly explaining why he wrote a certain song, but it was more music than I expected. If you get a chance go see him.

David Alan Coe was who we went to see at an event scheduled for 7 PM. He did not take the stage until 10:40. He played a handful of songs, at a poor sound quality, got angry with one " fan" , and left. This one woman cheated a packed bar of loyal fans out of a full show. If David Alan Coe does not want to be disrespected at the age of 75, like he said, then maybe he should not schedule to come onto stage at venue serving alcohol 4 hours after the doors open!!!i am very disappointed with someone my husband considers a legend. What a terrible birthday present for him!!!

David Allan Coe was fantastic to see live. He was a great performer and his voice was golden. Even his wife was fantastic. However, even they were pissed because of how poor the sound quality was at 8 second saloon. He even had to stop in the middle of a song so they could re tune the guitar. There was feedback from the microphones and a loud humming/buzzing sound the entire time. Making it really hard to actually hear him.

First off the food, service, prices and hospitality at the road house was horrible. You will get better service at a golden corral. David allen coe was even worse he didn't sing any of his songs. He came out on the stage a hour and a half late and was just absolutley horrible. I'll never again go to the road house or David Allen Coe concert even if it was free!!!! It was absolutley horrivle and way to expensive!!!!!!

Poor DAC, I don't know if he wasn't feeling right after his accident or just feeling his age but this was not a good performance. His wife drowned out his vocals and in case you haven't heard her before its not pleasant. The opening act didn't show, he was so quiet you could barely hear him over his synthesizer and guitar. Just a poor show. I went to other shows of his and he knocked them out of the park. It just was a let down this year.

It was an amazing experience to see David at a small venue and I sat only 30 ft from him. Unfortunately we seen him after his car accident and it was very difficult to understand him. The sound was was very bad but when it comes down to it it was still Classic DAC. Well worth the price of tickets.

Awful concert! Can I have my money back? He sung little bits of his most popular songs all strung together in a medley.

He didn't sing many of his better known songs and rambled at times. Pretty disappointing overall.

DAC played straight through for about 90 minutes. Songs he wrote/co-wrote for others and his own tunes. His band was tight and the sound was awesome. Pretty damn good for a 74 year old man!

I was excited to see David Allan Coe for the first time at 8 Seconds Saloon. The facility was a very nice place for a large crowd. All the staff were smiling and happy to serve us. Drinks were very good as well. Seemed well organized and plenty of police present. We had a table on the front row and that is one thing I will never do again. The speaker for the lead guitar player (his son I am assuming) was ENTIRELY TOO LOUD AND OVERPOWERING. Much of the concert we couldn't even hear David Allan Coe sing his words becase the electric guitar was ear shattering. The only place we could really HEAR him sing was went we went at the backside of the dance floor next to the restrooms.... then he sounded really good. I would NOT recommend front row seats at this facility, although you have a good view of whose playing (and feel like you could reach out and touch them)... actually listening to and being able to enjoy the music was challenging, even with ear plugs. I was also a little disappointed when we didn't hear some of DAC's older songs in the old format. The new guitar player changed the whole style of music that David Allan Coe is famious for. Did NOT like the electric guitar screamin the entire time. I know several people around us were agitated by it, as were we. Even his song "A Country Boy Will Survive"..... that damn screamin guitar ruined the effect! The only other issue we had was that while they were playing our National Anthem, one of the musicians on stage continued to tune his guitars. I felt that was disrespectful and irritating.
