Barrington Levy

Amazing show worth the 3 hr ride. The. Venue Paradise rock club. Fantastic spot. Sound system amazing. Staff very friendly. The place was clean and felt very safe here.my new hang out too bad 3 hrs away.

Mr Levy played all the hits going back to classics from the 80s. The crowd participation was fantastic fueling the energy on stage - patrons were singing along - it was fantastic!

Mr. Levy is a musical treasure as proven by his vast hit records, long musical career, iconic sound, and works sampled by so many artists. In concert he was fun, engaging, humorous, and spoke of his respect for other reggae legends. His vocals were better than you've heard on any studio produced recording; truly sweet music to the ear. The audience sang the lyrics to all his songs. Definitely see Barrington Levy whenever you can.

I've seen Barrington Levy no less than a dozen times now, and not once has he disappointed! Always a solid, consistent performer. If you know his music and love his songs, do not miss an opportunity to see him! His energy, selection of tracks, and enthusiasm is a crowd pleaser. I've seen him a numerous venues, house of blues Anaheim being the most recent. I forgot who the opening band was, but they were pretty good too (I believe a local San Diego reggae band)... This particualr venue is great, with a good layout and great sound system. An extremely talented artist, and sounds great live!

Great Show! Probably would have been a higher attendance if was on a Friday or Saturday but I bought enough $10 dollar tall cans to make up for the brothers that coudnt make it. Good Vibes...

The show was great but the venue was too small for that kind of show and the main performer was on stage for about 15min when the other performers was on stage much longer.

Awesome show, great performances would def recommend going and i plan on attending next year.

A HALF AN HOUR FILLED WITH 15-SECOND SNIPPETS OF SONGS. NEVER ONCE DID HE EVEN COME CLOSE TO PLAYING A WHOLE SONG! VERY DISAPPOINTING. I'VE SEEN THE LEGEND BARRINGTON LEVY SEVERAL TIMES AND THIS WAS THE ULTIMATE LET-DOWN. I DON'T USUALLY POST BAD REVIEWS AND I MOST CERTAINLY DO NOT TYPE IN ALL CAPS... THAT'S HOW UPSET I AM.

The other reggae acts leading up to Barrington Levy were pretty good - however once Barrington Levy went on he only performed a 25-minute set! The hype man from 87.7 was TERRIBLE. Apparently it was his birthday that night, he was wasted and would not shut up -- yelling into the microphone constantly instead of giving Barrington Levy the chance to finish his songs. You would think as the headliner he would've performed the longest, and that unfortunately wasn't the case. Barrington Levy is one of the greatest reggae artists of all time and rarely makes it to Boston. He cancelled his last two shows so I was really excited for this show. The show ended at 12:45 and that was it... highly disappointed. I hope I can see Barrington Levy perform again.

Barrington has always been a favorite reggae artist to see. Unfortunately this show was rushed, artists did not get to have their full performance. There was actually no mention of these artists on the full bill. The late arrival of Barrington was very frustrating. But not so frustrating as the MC who was drunk, loud, and unpleasant. Boos were hurled for a reason.

Barrington went on stage at 12:30am when the doors opened at 7pm... Only played for 12 minutes and then walked off stage and ended the show.

I wish there was more of a description for this event when purchasing tickets. Obviously they used Barringtons name for marketing purposes. I didn't even stay long enough to see him because the dance hall DJs were so bad. Waste of my money.

My review is titled as such because we finally left the show shortly after 11pm when Barrington Levy was still yet to take the stage. In the meantime we were "entertained" by a series of amateur artists and DJs, and a loud and vulgar emcee. I'm sure Barrington was awesome and this review is not directed towards him. People were clearly there to see him and it was a major disappointment that it took so long.

Barrington Levy was amazing, he played all his hits, old and he even mixed in a few new tracks. It was an experience i soon will forget...

The show was really great one it got started but Mr. Levy was 1 1/2 hour late. In the interim while we waited they played some really great reggae songs. Barrington Levy's performance was awesome, my friends and I enjoyed it thoroughly. He appeared to not have aged at all and remains an energetic performer.

Barrington is a legend that still lives! As dynamic as always, crowd motivating and venue was a perfect place

Levi Came in Very Very Late.. There was no update on when the show would start... People stoof there waiting, waiting and waiting until 10:30 when the show began. Could have been organised better.

He cancelled the first show at bbkings 3 weeks ago and rescheduled for the highline ballroom. Ticket said 8 pm music. Doors at 6. No warm up band and he had not showed up as of 950

I would describe the Barrington Levy show at the Paradise as disappointing. I was hoping for a night of chill reggae as Barrington has delivered in previous shows. The night started fine with a solid performance by Soul Rebel Project who prepared the crowd for a great performance by Barrington with a powerful version of Informer . The crowd then lost its good vibe with an hour long wait for Barrington and a DJ who didn t realize that this was a reggae crowd. Unrecognizable songs were barely audible through the Paradise s muffled sound system. The closest reggae song played was the Clash s version of Police and Thieves . Eventually the crowd s restlessness turned to anger and many were booing because of the delay in Barrington s appearance. Barrington s band finally appeared shortly before midnight. Apparently, someone finally told Barrington that Boston entertainment licenses expire at 1 AM. His bass player appeared angry and his body guard/promoter guy (please tell me that wasn t a Phillies hat he was wearing) was surly. Barrington capped off this mood by mocking the crowd by opening with Boston, are you sleeping? a refrain he repeated many times during his set. Still, Barrington could have saved the night with a strong performance. Instead, he performed only a medley of his songs (probably due to time constraints) and rushed through each one. His longest song was a chant with the crowd of I feel good, I feel irie. By that time, no one was feeling that. The crowd didn t help, since most were pretty wasted and not giving off a reggae vibe at all. I came prepared to hear and sing along with a legend, not to be insulted by a crew at the Paradise who has no idea what reggae is and by Barrington s lack of respect for his fans.

The Paradise is kind of a challenging place if you want to keep your near stage footing. Lots of people pushing to get in front of you like you're not there. You have to be a bit flexible when it comes to holding your ground . Besides the band arriving an hour late, the Barrington Levy show was wonderful. He has a resounding voice, an exuberant personality, and his song selections were crowd pleasing. He created a sing-along environment that was most engaging and fun. I also liked Stevey the guitarist. He played a few riffs reminiscent of Jimmy (do I need to include Hendrix?), but he seemed rather angry and disturbed. Great show; great sound.

It's hard to believe, but the concert technically didn't take place until the following day! Martin Campbell didn't take the stage until after midnight, the star of the show, Barrington Levy took the stage at 2:15am!! The parking garage; closed at 3pm so I didn't get to stay for the entire show. EXTREMELY disappointing sound. Horrible is too nice of a word to describe the sound. Too heavy bass and not a good sound all together. Barrington, I love ya, but 4th and B will NEVER get another dime from me.

I have to say that Martin Campbell stole the show!!! HE WAS AMAZING!! I enjoyed the opening bands too!!! ... but what's up with Barrington performing @ 2am?? It would've been nice to have heard more of Barrington ... nevertheless, Martin Campbell was GREAT! I danced the night away... I would definitely recommend this show

Barrington came on too late but once he was on it was a great time

Barrington Levy is a legend and he lived up to that title with a great show last night. The crowd was mixed with older and young people as well as a mix of different races. The crowd was very lively. When Barrington came out the dance floor filled up quickly. Barrington went through all of his hits,he sounded great. He is one of the few performers that sounds as great live as he does on his records. I would recommend going to see the legend,if he is in your town

Barrington was on point last night. Did all the classics. His band was on point. The sound quality was superb. B.B. King security was on point. Vibe was good and all that. Sounding better live than he does on CD. B.B. kings is a good spot. Non complaints.

This was first time for me to see and listen "Real Sound and Real person" Barrington Levy.. It was Amazing.. !! His music always take me to the happy place.. :D

This was the second time I saw him on this tour and it was an amazing show both times. The show is fun and you just can't help feeling good and dancing. The opening band is great, too. I need to find out where he's playing next, I have some vacation time I need to use!!!

Barrington was amazing, though I wished he started a wee bit early. I did not enjoy all of the opening act's music/lyrics but the bands were awesome. The DJs were very nice, I kinda wished the played until it was time for barringon to take the stage.

THE LEGEND!!! He gets the crowd involved with a good message, great entertainer. One of my favorites. Love how he breaks down his songs. REWIND!

Due to the fact he was a little late getting on stage, that was the best show i have being to all year.

Barrington was a great show. He came on really late (doors opened at 9, he came on at 1am) but it was still a great show. He did all of his most popular songs and really got the crowd into it.
