I've loved little mermaid since I was little and when I found out it was on stage I had to see it. It was awesome; songs you know and love, new songs that fit right it. Great acting as well. Overall amazing and already have suggested others to see it!

I took my 9 yr old granddaughter to The Liitle Mermaid, and she loved it. She liked the eels lights and rollerblades, and liked how the cast was raised up in the air on wires to emulate swimming. Personally, I thought Sebastian was hysterical - perfectly played and cast. Eric had a strong voice as well. Ursula's costume was fantastic. The entire show was modernized and with little twists to entertain all. We truly enjoyed.

I took my 3 girls to see the show. They absolutely loved it. They were glued to their seat the entire time and never wanted it to end. The music, singing and dancing were great as well as the scenery. I loved the fact that they used skating to simulate swimming. They received a standing ovation at the finale. Would definately see it again! Well worth the money!

The sets were amazing. You actually felt like you were on and under the water. The costumes were beautiful as well, especially, Ursula's. The only negative was the way the story line was changed.

I am an AVID Little Mermaid fan. I love everything from the original Hans-Christiansen story to the 1992 movie (the year I was born). I even enjoyed the second and third movies Disney developed. I have to say that after waiting and waiting to go to NYC to see this play I came away happier than I ever expected. The seats were amazing and not too expensive (for broadway anyways), and the musical itself was amazing! The sets and costumes were fantastic and the story line was great. I loved how they were able to stay true to the classic movie and still make it juicier and original. I liked how it wasn't exactly the same as the movie because it made the show unique as all musical's are no matter what they are based off of. The music I already had memorized but I loved being able to put the music with the scenes. The acting was also spectacular; each actor or actress brought their own style and flair to the characters while still maintaining the original personalities that the movie brought to life. I even thought parts of it were sweeter and more romantic than the movie (of course it was longer to so more time to develop the story and characters). The depth that was in each character was refreshing and delightful because I got to know them even more intimately than I did in the film. Drew Seeley (who i have never been a huge fan of) SHINED in this production and I hope to see more of him in future works, plays, and movies. BRAVO AND ENCORE THIS SHOW WAS ONE OF THE BEST I'VE EVER SEEN and is now DEFINITELY my FAVORITE MUSICAL!!!!

The entire experience was amazing! I took my 3 daughters, ages 6 (twins) and 5 year olds. Absolutely mesmerizing from the very minute the curtain went up. I was worried about them getting antsy...the scenery, costumes, songs, etc...kept them on the edge of their seats! The best compliment I can give is when we passed the theater later that evening and saw people heading into the 8 pm show (we saw matinee) my girls begged to go see it again that minute! Enjoy!!!!!!!!!!

Just got home from taking my daughter to Little Mermaid. It was a fabulous first Broadway experience for her. We were impressed with the choreography and creativity involved in the show, particularly the use of "waves," lighting, portable ship, but mostly the heelies the actors used to give the feeling of them swimming. The lines of King Triton, however, was the one area that seemed disappointing. It didn't feel as polished and put together as the rest of the production. I'd say that part was a bit of a disappointment, but not enough to prevent us from going.

The Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts is really looking like a tired venue. The atmosphere is one of drab with the grey walls and and minimalist decor. In regard to the play Disney's The Little Mermaid, it truly was feast or famine. The actors playing Sabastian and Flounder were absolutely wonderful, Arial and her sisters performed very well, and the remaining cast performances were fairly nondescript, a disappointment considering several of the roles were lead roles. And the set left much to be desired. Most of the costumes were adequate, but many lacked the artistry that one would expect from a theater performance. And the "animated" scenes during the performance were extremely amateur and did little to add value to the production, in fact, it deterred from it. All in all, it was a fine time, and I would not consider my time wasted, but I will probably not return to the Duke Energy Center for the Performing Arts until there is an overhaul of the theaters interior. And I would probably downplay my friends expectations of this performance if they had already purchased tickets.

I was hoping for a little more creative variation and humor in the show. It pretty much followed the Disney movie word for word. A bit boring in my opinion since I've seen that movie many, many times during my daughter's childhood. The show did offer a few new songs, and of course, included all of the favorites. But it would have been nice to have seen them take some creative liberties to make it more interesting and entertaining.

The Little Mermaid costumes and set design were breathtaking! The orchestra was fabulous as well. There were a few extra songs and numbers that were not part of the original movie. I didn't care for the Scuttle number, but it was the only song and dance routine that seemed out of place. Sebastian was phenomenal and Under The Sea routine was marvelous! I went to this show with my mom (I'm 25 years old) as this was my favorite Disney movie as a child. We went as a belated Mother's Day & Birthday gift. The show was so fun. The acting was good, even from our seats on the side. The singing/ voices were great. But my favorite bit was actually the costumes. I felt there were super ingenious and was so impressed at how the mermaids were able to walk but still almost give the perception of swimming. It was obvious that they spent a lot of energy into making this a great performance and we were not at all disappointed.

This was a surprise birthday gift for my 10-year-old niece from my three daughters. Needless to say, she was thrilled! From the costuming and set to the incredibly talented cast, it was a truly magical experience. We were not familiar with the "new" songs that are included in the musical version (vs. the movie soundtrack), but they were absolutely enchanting. Prince Eric's "Her Voice" was a particular favorite of mine and my girls LOVED Scuttle's "Positoovity". I just can't say enough about the talented cast!!! It was humorous, touching, and comes highly recommended....

Lots of talented performers and colorful costumes. We were disappointed by the use of cartoon-like animation on a screen. I am confident that the cast and crew could have provided us with a theatrical performance rather than rely on an poorly animated mermaid swimming to the surface. Other than that, it was about what I expected. An entertaining evening but nothing extraordinary.

My 2 year old was so excited we had her dress up just like Ariel. She loved it so much she proclaimed it over and over again so much she actually got herself quoted in the Dallas Morning News as well as her picture on their facebook page. She has continually talked about it and my mother-in law thought it was so cool of how much my daughter & I loved it - we talked her into going and now she, her daughter, & her husband are going to it next week I think - they already bought the tickets. I have told countless people & my husband has as well at his job about it - He bought like 20 newspapers and gave some away and showed others who had small children so they could see if my 2 year old was mesmerized by it I am sure their kids would be too.

This was a truly magical adventure from the moment my 4 year old granddaughter and I stepped into the theatre. My granddaughter was in complete Ariel costume from head to toe. It was just amazing to see how awestruck a 4 year old can become. She sat mezmerized by the scenery, the actors and the wonderful music. Of course she sang along with all the songs. Naturally she had to have a "dinglehopper" and a purse so that she could be "Ariel". I enjoyed every aspect of the show and the special effects were amazing...you really believed they actors were swimming in the ocean...Prince Eric falling from the ship, and Ursula were in a word, AWESOME! WE found the Chef hilarious and Skuttle singing "Positoovity" just great! After the show my granddaughter was thrilled to get "Ariel's" autograph. I must say that for me and my grandaughter it was a fantastic experience and everyone, young and old would have an absolutely wonderful time "Under The Sea"!!!

Ive heard alot of critisism about it and so i was doubtful, however when the show started it was by far one of the most amazing productions. It was spectcaular in every way, the humor wasnt too childish, the customs were realistic and the signing was phenominal. Its sad that its closing but atleast on tour thousands of other people will be able to see the magic i saw.

The Little Mermaid has been my favorite movie since I was a little girl, and getting to see it brought to life on stage with new music and effects, was a dream come true. It felt like a blast from my past with a cool, modern twist. The dancing/swimming was amazingly well done, the sets were gorgeous, and the costumes were unbelievably beautiful. Although they are the bad characters, I enjoyed Ursula and her eels the best. Their costumes glowed with neon green lights, and the eyes of the eels glowed an ominous red which was a very nice touch to demonstrate the "evil" parts that they played. I loved the classic songs from the movie, and my new favorite that was from only the musical was the "If Only" quartet performed by Ariel, Prince Erik, Sebastian, and King Triton. This song gave me goosebumps and brought me to tears. I have also seen Beauty and the Beast, and The Lion King on Broadway, and so I highly encourage everyone that has the opportunity to go see your favorite Disney movie brought to life. It truly is an amazing experience that I will never forget.

I took my 15 year old daughter to see this show as a surprise for her excellent report card. The two of us sat there wide eyed like two toddlers in a candy store. From start to finish this show was just amazing! The talent of the cast was breathtaking, their voices actually raised hairs on my arms at times. The costumes were unbelievable, the way they would change with the lighting and look like a completely different costume was just "so cool" and I just couldn't get over it. Throughout the show I kept saying "Wow, look at the lighting, look at the beautiful colors." I just could not get over how vivid everything looked, almost fake they were so awesome. The show was good - some variations from the movie, but close enough. Good voices, colorful outfits & a solid performance. I would suggest folks with kids seriously think if they should take them or get a sitter for them. It is a couple hours & Ursula is pretty good. We saw several families with small kids leave before the show was over - I imagine they were scared or it was just too long for them.

We thoroughly enjoyed the production of Disney's The Little Mermaid, but it does not compare to The Lion King or Mary Poppins. The biggest disappointments? Flounder. Great actor, great job, but the costume was horrible and Flounder never had a crush on Ariel. Big mistake to play with the story line to that degree. The performers did a fantastic job, but the visual effects fell way short of a Disney production. Why the crude, old video trying to capture Ariel under the sea saving Prince Eric. It was horrible. With all they have these days digitally, it could have been spectacular. Instead those kind of images were very cheesy. And, why no dog?! Just too many changes to the original story line. That was disappointing, but it was fun and the performers were great.

The Little Mermaid was a wonderful, family show. I enjoyed it as did my 4 year old. Perfect length so she was not bored or distracted and wonderful bright costumes. We went home and she asked could we go back the next day!!!!!!

The Little Mermaid is my favorite Disney movie of all time. I wasn't sure the live version could live up to my expectation but, it did! Thay Floyd as Sebastian was absolutely FANTASTIC!!! The show was just as magical as it was to me 20 years ago. This show is an absolutely fantastic, fun, nostalgic night out. GO SEE IT!

Beautiful set that created a truly magical feel for being undersea with the merfolk. Loved the original scores & fantastic voices! The sound was perfect even in the balcony. Well balanced between instruments & voices. Well done all! Loved the fact that Sebastian & Ursula both received huge applause from the audience. We loved the good & the bad of Disney's offerings! Thanks again for making such wonderful quality theater available to the DFW metroplex. My grandchildren & I have precious memories of this event.

I loved the show! The little mermaid was the first performance that I had seen at music hall. The cast and production of the show was phenomenal! Although the show time I chose was the last Saturday of the tour and the traffic was horrible. The audience was very noisy but that is expected with that many children. I will be attending another show soon!

This was an unforgettable experience, it was my first time going to a musical and I loved it. This made me decide that not all musicals are bad and I plan on going to more. The actors were outstanding, and the effects that they brought to the stage were just magnificent.

I grew up with the Little Mermaid. It is one of the first movies I remember seeing in a theater. They ruined this story with the musical. I am baffled as to why they could not stick to the storyline of the movie. I have seen Lion King, Newsies, and Beauty and the Beast on Broadway, and all were substantially similar to the movies. The family drama added in to Little Mermaid -- between Ursula singing about murdering her siblings and Ariel yelling "I hate him" about her dad (repeatedly) -- are inappropriate for children. This is not Rent, Wicked, Chicago, etc. that parents should have to second-guess taking their young children to; the little girls in front of and behind me were frightened, kept asking where Ariel was (they had no idea the dress was supposed to represent a fin), why the story was different, and upon intermission, immediately asked what "I hate you" means. The odd relationship they created between Flounder and Ariel was just that - odd. I would never pay to see this one again, which is out of the ordinary for me. I have seen most shows at least twice, traveled to Broadway for many, etc. The only reason I am giving this 2 stars is for the performers; the actresses who played Ariel and Ursula were very talented. Overall though, the story was ruined and I would not recommend this to anyone.

Wasn't sure how they would pull it off but it was impressive and the flying was seamless. Voices were also spot on. I was a season ticket holder for years but haven't been recently, the improved sound was great.

As with all of the Disney musical productions, the sets and costuming were amazing. Honestly I did not expect a ship and mermaids floating underwater, but they made it happen. The actress chosen as Ariel sounded enough like her movie character to keep even the most enthusiastic fan happy.
