Like the place but lineup wasn't quite our style. I wished I'd caught Pop Evil. I thought they were playing at the same time as Stone Sour but they came on way earlier. That disappointed me. But we will continue to go. I've enjoyed it for a few years now.

Shows were good. I felt that Bullet for my valentine should have been on the side stage and Pop Evil should have been on the main stage. Pop Evil had so many people crammed on the hillside. I feel like the vendors for food were very under prepared for food items because by 8 pm most of them ran out of some menu items. Beer was stupidly priced. I will say the staff for security was awesome. Also speakers on main stage were not good for some of the bands.
Farm Bureau Live at Virginia Beach - Virginia Beach, VA - Fri, May 3, 2013
This concert was pretty awesome. I thought All That Remains & Buckcherry definitely ROCKED that Second Stage. I think Three Days Grace ROCKED the Main Stage. Seether was not as enthusiastic as I expected them to be, though. The show was pretty damn awesome overall, though.

Most times it's very enjoyable and this past one didn't have a strong line up of bands as previous shows. Also, was told by the venue that the promoters of the Lunatic Luau was not allowing chairs or blankets/sheets and having lawn seat tickets, we were not able to enjoy due to the lawn being muddy from rain the night before as well as the cold weather, too uncomfortable so left without being able to enjoy the concert.

3rd luau; very impressed by how they keep on schedule, so that the last band gets in their entire set. very easy to get back and forth between stages and i think the right bands were on the right stages. our favorites were papa roach and 3 days grace. the FREE signing tent was a plus, even though the lines were really long; but if you planned, you got to meet your favorite band. good job! i love how y'all have it the nite before the big 2 day show in NC...much prefer 1 day/night. we'll be back!

This year's Luau was very well organized with the bands playing on two stages at different times so that they did not overlap each other. The VIP tickets were well worth it to be able to meet the bands quickly and that was well organized too. All in all, it was a great day and night of rock 'n roll!!

Who decided the line-up for the mainstage? It is sad to see Seether 'headline' and perform so poorly, when you have an awesome band like Sevendust who has played Luau several times and slays it EVERY TIME on stage. Papa Roach and Three Days Grace were good as well as Buckcherry (on 2nd Stage) It was a cold & windy day but the music kept people warm. Thanks FM99!

The place was PACKED and it was a little chilly with the wind, but all of the bands were amazing. The ones that stood out the most for me were Three Days Grace, Volbeat, Sevendust, and All That Remains. The first three were on the main stage but All That Remains absolutely killed it on the second stage. Great show!

I was at the autograph session for Shinedown,my favorite band for several years now,to get their autograph. Barry was the first and nicest one there.Eric was next, very nice, then Zach, and the the "Almighty BRENT SMITH". He did not look you in the eye,so I asked if he played an instrument? "Yea I play a instrument" I asked which one he said 'I play an instrument". I was so taken back by his answer and actions that I was really hurt. I have never heard of any poor autograph sessions from this band ever! I was numb. Maybe a bad day for Brent but I found it to be very unusual for him. I felt really hurt by this experience but they did put on a great show.

Even though it rained off and on for the first 2 or 3 hours of the show, and the mud was horrible, this was a fantastic concert. Even with, or maybe because of the short set length, the bands packed their sets with hits. If you get a chance to go to a future FM 99 Lunatic Luau...DO IT! You will not be sorry.

This was our 3rd year going to Lunatic Luau, and the lineup this year was lackluster. Usually we are bouncing between the stages to see all the great bands, but this year we stood in line for 1.5 hrs to get autographs, and didn't care who we were missing. Hopefully next year the lineup will be better!

The show was at an ampitheater and it was raining off and on.No problem with that. Everyone was pretty cautious. If you ever need the paramedics at a show, these are your guys! I had fallen going down my row to get to my seat and busted my nose and forehead. They were there before I knew it. The show was really on time with all of those bands and it raining, the crews deserve a lot of recognition. Every band was really good considering the weather!!!

My husband and I drove 5 hours for this show. We had such a great time. The bands were amazing, the venue was great, if it weren't so far I'd come back over and over again! The only thing we didn't like was the beer (and soda) was SOOO expensive. I think that was a bit much. We shared two between us and that was it. And we almost didn't do that. The bands and location was great. Easy to get in and out of the venue, and the crowd was well handled. Only down side was that there were too many bands for the time frame. Wanted to see more of the top three bands and the side stage was just too small to handle the crowds. Volbeat and 5FDP killed it! This should be a two day event, allowing more time on stage, per band.

The lineup could hardly be much better. But, the ping pong effect of bouncing from one stage to the other to see the artists was a little aggravating. There should have been more time between main stage and side stage play times. I had to miss about 10 minutes of play each time, at least. Sometimes they were playing at the same time. Something was a little shifty with the audio for the bands (audio drowned out almost completely by instrumental), but I wouldn't even begin to know where that originates from. Especially since Volbeat's sound was dead-on perfect. We will definitely be returning if the lineups continue to be this good. Be aware of crowd surfers at side stage. Got a little out of hand sometimes. Standing on the grass hill will help you avoid that.

Avenged Sevenfold is either being unoriginal or paying homage to musical influences. I can't decide which with This Means War sounding a lot like Metallica's Sad But True and their stage setup that reminds me if an Iron Maiden show. Neither were bad, just very similar to what's been around for a very long time. Five Finger Death Punch had way more energy and stage presence than any other band there. While I associate them with more "Ooh Rah" bro - fans and while they totally lived up to that association, they were more entertaining and fun to watch. I would have liked to see Volbeat later in the evening when things were more amped up. I think they're one of the best bands that played and deserve more attention than the 2nd stage overlap causes them to get. Either way, great time, great show. My son and I had a lot of fun.

Overall, was outstanding, as usual. Only thing I couldn't figure out is : Why was Seether the headlining band?? They had NO props, had the lights turned away from them, looked like some garage band from around the corner, and pretty much sounded that way. The rest of the bands were awesome!!! Papa Roach put on one hell of a show, as did Three Days Grace (even without Adam). All of the side stage bands were great, esp Pop Evil; those guys rocked it out!!!! Also, Volbeat was very good; look forward to seeing them again as possibly a headliner........

I went to see Sevendust, who I've seen quite a few times and are amazing every time, and Volbeat primarily. Beyond that I would've been glad to see Papa Roach and Seether again, and wouldn't have minded seeing All That Remains, P.O.D., and Nonpoint. I thought the autograph tent was an awesome idea since meeting the bands is usually kind of difficult, especially at large venues. Unfortunately each band was at the tent for 30 minutes and it took over an hour in line to get to it, so you either missed out on 2-3 really good performances to get an autograph from one of the bands and couldn't really plan for which one, or just didn't get an autograph. That is also one of the issues that came from the lineup. Seether headlines for all of these bands? They have some good songs, but they really didn't try to put on a show at all. No backdrop, no crowd involvement, almost no effort it seemed. They just stood there and played looking kind of bored. Yet Sevendust went on at 4:30 in the afternoon and Volbeat just 30 minutes after they finished. Also, 3 Days Grace just replaced their singer with Matt Walst from My Darkest Days. One day this guy is singing frat boy rock looking like the dude from The Goo Goo Dolls, and the next he's mimicking Adam Gontier, dyes his hair black, and tries to look like some goth kid that just woke up after a night at a Marilyn Manson concert. I get that the band wanted to keep touring, but this was just lame. And even with that, they had a long set, later in the evening. Autograph tent should've had the big bands at it early in the afternoon and had 2 bands at it at once while Trapt and Otherwise were playing, so that people could enjoy better bands that night and with better energy. That said, all the bands on the main stage, except Seether, worked to put on a good show and it was an enjoyable experience.

I missed RVNT but from what my friends have told me they were terrible. Tremonti was decent. Unlocking The Truth was mildly fun. Sevendust was a great burst of energy. The Sword was disappointing. They just didn't seem to fit with the other bands on the bill. I skipped out on them to go and witness Bullet For My Valentine. Despite not being a huge fan of their music they put on a fantastic live show. Pop Evil was good for crowd surfing but otherwise could care less. Stone Temple Pilots put on a pretty chill set with some surprises. Steel Panther was hilarious. Stone Sour came on and put on an electrifying show. One thing I would recommend for the venue is to provide some better lighting on the lawn. I couldn't see anything in the mosh pit. Alice In Chains came on last and provided a superb and atmospheric performance to close out the night. I hadn't been to a Luau since 2015 due to lacklustre line ups but this show gave great bands for a great price. More shows like this please.

So you know, I've been to many of these and I've been around the block a few times. Holding this on a Saturday let a whole lot more people attend. Great move, however, if one of the artists you want to see starts at 3:10pm and they don't open the gates until 2:45pm, you miss the first 2-3 songs, and that's if you are near the front of the line. Did you see the line? Didn't attend last year because of the repeat of groups. This was a great line up! I am a big Alice In Chains fan. However, their performace following STP and Stone Sour was anticlimatic at best. It wasn't even them though. After getting blasted by the previous bands, I could barely hear AIC. It sounded muted. That was disappointing and you could feel the energy level in the place fall. They played all the hits, but then the show just aburptly ended, Wierd. I've seen them before (in the last couple of years) and that wasn't what I saw. Overall, had a great time. Didn't get wet or freeze as bad this time. The majority of the Luauers played it cool.

This was my second time attending Lunatic Luau, and I absolutely loved it. I love that they have the autograph tent so that you have a chance to meet the bands. It really makes the whole experience even more awesome. My only issue isn t with the event itself but the venue. Everything is tremendously overpriced. Little 6-8oz drinks are $20... $16 for a daiquiri... $4 for a 16 oz bottle of water. merch is crazy too. $40 for a T-shirt when I can go on the bands websites and buy the exact same ones directly through them for $25... It s a nice venue don t get me wrong but I strongly suggest packing your own food/drinks within the guidelines of the venue.

Venue was ok. Smooth entrance and exit from parking lot. 20 minute delay in opening gate. Not a very secure check in, men were patted down, women were wanded. Paid extra for VIP which was a joke. Was trying to avoid bathroom lines and dirty toilets but there was no difference. Toilets overflowing, 15-20 minute wait during band breaks. not worth the extra $50. Staff and workers were all polite and friendly. Alice in Chains boring as hell, no way they should have headlined. Stone Sour put on quite the show as did STP. And seriously.......Pop Evil at the side stage, what a mistake!! Remove Tremonti or Bullet for my Valentine and put Pop Evil on the main stage where they belong. All in all good music and fairly behaved drunks in mosh pits!

I purchased pit tickets for my son and I . All was good until about 5 o'clock . That's s when the invasion of people who did not buy pit tickets showed up . Apparently people take a screen shot of there tickets or copy them on a printer and show them to the pit wrist band people and you are in . So , I pay full price , they buy a lawn ticket and we end up in the same place . The pit was so crowded and full it was not fun at all.
