I have been dying to see Will Downing in concert and on Mother's Day I treated myself. Will was funny, entertaining and overall a delight. The band was outstanding as well. I would've loved to hear him sing more of his songs but my fellow Brooklynite did just fine

The Jazz festival was absolutely wonderful. The artist were up close and personal as well as on their A game. Each one greeted the audience with much appreciation to their fans for their longevity. We all returned the love back to the artist who awarded us with one-on-one time after their sets. The crowd was respectful to each other and a good time was had by all. I can't wait for next year!!

This was my first time, but definitely not my last time going to this Jazz festival. The crowd was great, no drama that I saw from anyone, everyone was just having a good time. The only negative I saw was in the tents area. They were clusterred together tighter than ten toes in a pair of shoes. The park should have had this organized better in this area.

I enjoyed my self, it was wonderful. I especially like when the entertainers inter-act with the audience by coming out into the audience, even going out to those faithful fans in the lawn. The change overs were great, not a lot of time wasted. Also the fact that the two stages times were off by 30 minutes gives me time to check out both acts if I want to.

It's was FABULOUS as always. The music is always great and the people are fantastic. NO bickering or being rude. Just a good mellow time being had by all. The weather was also great this year. A bit cloudy on Sat. a.m. but over all a beautiful weekend. It's an annual thing for me and my crew and each year there are more and more of us. Kudos to WHUR.

This was my first time attending this remarkable event. I enjoyed it so much. I was very impressed with how welll it was organized with the number of people that were there. The show itself was truly awesome. I have told many of my associates and friends abnout this event and many of them plan to attend next year. I cannot wait for next years event.

The Cap Jazz Fest is a wonderful weekend. It is one of the highlights of my summer. I went on Saturday only but managed to see Leela James, Regina Belle, Rahsaan Patterson, Will Downing, Maysa, and Raheem DeVaughn within a matter of hours! It was amazing. Imagine yourself, gazing at the stars while being serenaded by the musical artistry of Rahsaan and Leela. Can you imagine all of these great singers in one venue? It is a music lover's dream! I plan to go back next year and stay the entire weekend. Folks had their picnic baskets, camp gear, and coolers. It was a great vibe- just relaxing and enjoying the good music! I loved it!

I have attended the festival every year for the last 10+ years. I felt that this year's line up was not as powerful as other years. Some of the artist that close should not have been the "closers". Stil had a great time.

The entire Jazz Fest was truly outstanding! The crowd that we sat near were true lovers of the performers and came just to see them perform. We sat on the law and had a great view for the stage and the big screens. It was as if everyone was at their own private concert with surround sound from the crowd. Next year I will stay at the hotel in Columbia, so I won't have to worry about driving home after being on such a nature music high. I want to be able to bask in all the after parties too. The Jazz Fest just gets better and better each year.

The event was wonderful despite the mud we had a wonderful time and are looking forward to next year. The variety of artist, vendors and music was just right. The best was that the crowd was so into the music that you did not realize how many people you were surrounded by.

Chaka Khan was great. Fourplay were the real deal. We enojoyed Will Downing as we always do, especially when he brought Maysa out. Eric Essix is too cool. Rahsaan Patterson is a wild dude. You can never get enough of Phil Perry.

Loved this concert, these two artists together are amazing. Gerald's sound is if you were listening to him on CD, he is wonderful and animated. Will's voice could literally put a woman to bed slowly. He sings with soul and meaning. The band was amazing as well and could all stand on their own especially his female backup singer, sista is an artist all on her own!!. The opening artist Avery Sunshine, I could have seen more of her. I'm definitely purchasing her CD. I would definitely see these artists again. There was one problem with Will's mic which wasn't fixed until almost the end of the concert, but he compensated well with the technical difficulty.

This had to be one of he best shows ever that Will has put on in all the years that I have seen him perform! Will came to have a good time and entertain the crowd. He had excellent interaction with the audience and was quite engaging. He was comfortable, the band members were smiling all night like even they were enjoying his performance. I am so glad there is new music out now for him and more to come shortly. Even got a chance to get backstage and chat and laugh with him for a bit since every song he sang was "My jam" and I made sure he knew it! Can't wait until the next time.

After a slow start, the wait was well worth it once Najee and Will Downing hit the stage. The alternation of performances was a great mixture of jazz and smooth R&B. Both of their albums are wonderful master pieces - but the live performances was unforgettable....If it was one of the last live performances for Will Downing, (due to his health) I am blessed to have experienced him live...

Will Downing brought his unimitable style and sounds to Club Nokia and again left the crowd satisfied but still wanting more! His performance was a mix of old and some of the songs from his new CD, Lust, Love & Lies. His energy level was off the charts and you felt it right off the bat. Will had great interplay with the audience, much more than in previous shows and it was a welcome addition. He never disappoints and Club Nokia was no exception. Keep it coming, Will!

Recently the heat here in the Motor City has been sometimes quite unbearable. I am a die-hard Will Downing fan since 1988. I love his smooth, sexy vocals and having had the opportunity to meet and talk with him,,I can honestly say he is a lovable and down to earth person. He sang songs that we wanted to hear and his interaction with the audience was an added crowd pleasers. The venue was perfect, intimate with good acoustics. I loved our seats. L'Stubbs was nice with very good vocals.

Will Downing is an outstanding performer. This is my second time seeing him live. The first time was in NJ (our home town) and now in Memphis. As you can see, I was impressed the first time which gave me the urge to go for round two. I was accompanied by a co-worker who thoroughly enjoyed herself as well. She was a first timer and was very impressed. As we were going along, I would tell her about the songs I thought he would perform and he did not let me down. I Try Nothing Has Ever Felt Doesn't matter how many years from now, those songs will always be on the top of my Will Downing list. I wish he would have sung "Stop, Look, Listen to Your Hearbeat". The last time I saw him perform, he broke that down into individual heartbeats. He sang, "Listen to your heartbeat, listen to your heartbeat, etc" and each time, he slowed it down. Had you on the edge of your seat. By the way, although he joked about being sick, I am glad he was able to recover and return to the stage.

I was blessed to see Will Downing in concert at the Jazz Fest West in Los Angeles and boy what a great show! He used humor, sensuality, and mesmerized the audience with his powerful vocal techniques. Parts of the show were nostalgic, part moving (tribute to Barry White and Michael Jackson). I will attend his concerts whenever, wherever!!!!

Finally, I got to see one if my all time Favs Mr Will Downing. I was just a little dissapointed, but that was because he didn't perform some of my favorite of his many many songs, but I understand there was only so much time allotted, so I had to settle for 1 1/2 hours. My Evening was made fabulous when I met and took a picture back stage with him which I will treasure for the rest of my life. He is truly an awesome talented singer and a perfect gentleman.

From start to finish this was for my sister and I the show of the year, what a way to close out 2016. The lighting the stage and the sound were all picture perfect. Mr Alex Bugon took the stage first and made pure magic with those eighty eight weighted keys of ivory, pure elegance flowed from his rhythmic fingers as he took complete control of the piano. My words will fail me as I attempt to describe the angelic presence of the very beautiful the very soulful the very seductive tones that escaped the lips of Misses Chante Moore. With her youthful energy and timeless zeal combined with her Majesty of air that turns into pure octave pleasure this ebony beauty left me spellbound and breathless as I marvelled at what she is still capable of. The two of them set the stage for a brother that I never thought that I'd ever see in my life time, Mr Will Downing. This brother gave it all and then some I mean from start to finish he took me back with the hit song Wishing on A Star and brought me back full circle with Don't you talk to me like that, Will Downings performance was magnificent.

This was my 1st event since moving to the Raleigh Area almost a year ago! The artists performing are artists that I have been following for decades as I have 20 or more albums of theirs collectively! I got more than I truly expected and really enjoyed the short conversations with Najee and Gerald Albright as they signed my CD's and Ticket after their performance!!! The amphitheater was especially a nice place. As it was also my 1st time in downtown Raleigh!!! Tom Browne was a added treat!!! I hope their will be more Jazz coming to the area!!!

I am a true fan. An evening with Will Downing and Phil Perry was absolutely wonderful. His soulful sound was a perfect way to spend a Friday night. Not a bad seat. Just wish the evening did not end after 2 hours. He has a great personal approach in dealing with the audience and interacting with them. Only wish he would have sang sins grin his new CD, Chocolate Drop.

Whenever he comes to my town - I am there to see him. Will never disappoints...and Karen his backup singer...that girl can BLOW! I brought a friend to the concert- she wasn't a fan but attended with me since my fiancé had to work...after leaving the show she has a different outlook on Will and has thanked me multiple times for taking her to the show.

I really enjoyed the Will Downing Show. He not only has a nice voice, but he engaged the crowd and told great stories behind the music he wrote. Th band and backup singers were great as well. "Oh, oh oh oh, don't you talk to me like that! LOL Love it!!!

What a wonderful almost enchanted evening! Will Downing has the most resounding sensual voice I've ever heard. The show was fantastic as he sang all of my favorite songs, his most popular hits and a few new songs that are sure to be favorites. The duet with his background singer was awesome. She sang that female part in the duet, Nothing Has Ever Felt Like This. The concert was perfect; as expected. I wouldn't have changed a thing. Maurissa Rose was great as well.

Always luv Will D and most Birchmere shows. Although he was entertaining , the show was far too short...he started around 7 :45 and finished by 9:05. Not worth the $90 spent...five of us attended and felt the same. Not what normally happens at this venue.

I've been waiting to see Will Downing in concert for about 20 years. Unfortunately, he would sell out before I got tickets, but this time we got tickets six months in advance. It was a wonderful concert. Will sang everything I wanted him to. He was warm and friendly with the audience, and his band/signers were outstanding. The venue was perfect, very intimate and the crowd was very mature and gracious throughout his set.

Have been a fan of Will Downing forever and have seen him in concert at least 10 times, and he never disappoints. Could sit and listen to him sing all night. And his band is always great. Can't wait for him to come to my area again.

Took my wife to see Will Downing at the Birchmere in Alexandria VA and the show was great. Unlike some artists, he took no breaks and displayed great showmanship by singing the songs we have grown to love as well as some new material. My only issue was with the venue. Although they had a good food selection on their menu, I would recommend assigned seats instead of general admission. The staff was constantly patrolling the aisles during the performance searching for open seats for patrons that showed up well after the show began. This was very annoying and could be alleviated by allowing patrons to select their seats before making their payment.

The show was very good. It was a great display of unified efforts of cooperation from the 3 performers. This gave the audience seamless transitions from one performer to another performer without stopping entertainment. Avery Sunshine really had a bright, positive, feel-good effect on the mood of the audience. Alex Bugnon plays clear, distinctive keyboard sounds that you look forward to when he taps the 1st note of every song. The wired microphone or settings used for the Will Downing lead vocals needed improvement. His voice level and clarity was slightly below the music level during the entire show. The band was very good with the versatility to play for these different artists.
