Really disappointed in the show . I am probably ignorant about variations of YES. Am glad I saw ARW last year. Todd played too long and the only song I wanted to hear kind of sucked. And nowhere to park either.

Come on people, quit with the negative reviews. I get it - you want to hear the popular songs and hopefully someday Yes will do a "greatest hits" concert. This concert is more of a journey through the history of Yes, so unless you're a diehard Yes fan, maybe you won't recognize all of the songs but they still play some amazing music! My only regret was that the concert was too short - 1.5 hours at the Grand Sierra Resort. Not sure if this is true, but I was told the casino limits the the bands' play time in order to get people back out on the casino? Had a blast and can't wait to see them when they come back around!

Although there were some weak moments as the various acts worked out the first night jitters, the performances were well up to standard. In fact, if anything I would say that vocally, Yes is stronger than it has been in many years. Todd Rundgren is an odd addition to this set, and although I enjoyed his show, I think everyone in the audience around me would have preferred Carl Palmer doing a full hour, and Yes doing two full hours, skipping Todd. Carl Palmer's band is without question one of the most underrated acts on the planet right now. Everyone who likes progressive music should make an effort to see him.

Carl Palmer started off the concert and put on a great show, although he could use someone singing. Todd Rundgren was OK, but he only played one of his hits which was disappointing, his show should have been shorter to allow for Yes or Carl to play longer. Yes put on a great show, they sounded great! I really enjoyed them playing a song from each of their first 10 albums, but my wife wasn't happy since they didn't play Owner of a Lonely Heart!lol :)

Carl Palmer is still a force! An hour of Todd Rundgren goes a long way for these ears. Yes was in fine form with a fun set list. The problem was the show started at 8pm and finished at 1145pm. Start an hour earlier, set Todd free, and we're in business!

I've enjoyed being able to go back to my childhood with bands from my early years touring again. This is the second time I've seen Yes in five years and they still rock! I was initially upset to find that Jon Anderson was touring with them, but Jon Davison did an amazing job! If you closed your eyes you would have thought Anderson was on stage. Carl Palmer rocked on drums as always and out in a great, but short set. Todd was awesome too. That was the first time I saw him in concert, but his show was great. I would have liked to hear more older stuff from him, only because I'm more familiar with his stuff from the 70's and 80's. Definitively buy the tix!

Great to see Carl Palmer doing some of the ELP catalog though strange without vocals or any keyboards. The guitarist and bassist did very adequately though. Todd Rundgren was fun to watch, an interesting sandwich between these 2 prog rock giants. Yes was truly on form, the set was fantastic and really enjoyed their set from beginning to end. The VIP experience was long and tedious. Had to stand for over 30 minutes after show to get herded into a small, hot and stuff room to wait another 15 min to cycle through getting pics and autographs. Wish they gave us the option to wait until then to get posters and other give aways... no sense in making us drag them around all night with all the dead time after the show. Was over an hour after show before we left venue.

Carl Palmer's band was excellent. Set list was all ELP highlights. The ony problem is that they were only allowed 30 minutes to play. Todd Rundgren's set was a sleeper. The only things that kept me mildly entertained were the 2 dancing girls. Yes played a set of deep tracks that were slow, long, not challenging and downright boring. Their 9 album concept would have been better served with a montage followed by at least a few hits. We left during the encore, Roundabout, as it had begun to rain. They were not worth the ticket price nor getting wet to see them perform.

If you are a Yes fan, you should go to this show. They are playing songs only from the first 10 Yes albums, which are the best, in my opinion. And, they sounded GREAT! It was wonderful to get to see one of my all time favorite guitarists, Steve Howe, live. Apparently, they are planning on doing a 50th anniversary show next year and, if so, I'll plan on being there.

Carl Palmer surprised everyone with his amazing ELP Legacy. Todd Rundgren is always (this was my 15th time seeing Todd) the king and never fails to please old fans and win new ones. Three factors conspired to dampen the Yestival concert experience for me: Too much of the concert devoted to the other bands, a sub-optimal set-list of Yes songs, and late evening rain combined with an open air, uncovered venue. Yes's idea of playing one song from each of their first ten albums was a good one, but they did not choose the best or strongest songs and the result left me disappointed.

Let's get the venue and guest services out of the way right off - superlative!! While I had the VIP package plus meet and greet (M&G) even the regular ticketed attendees got into the venue very quickly. Having said that, this venue is the size of an oversized movie theater. One Guest Services woman did have an issue over my frozen bottle of Gatorade but a supervisor corrected her that my medical condition was an exception...again excellent customer service! As I sat front row center, I can tell you the performance was lively and audio a bit high-end. I really thought the concept of 10 songs, one from each of the first albums, announced by Steve Howe at the beginning would be interesting but with no opening act and a prompt 8pm start the show was over in 90 minutes including encores...which still after 10 days leaves me feeling a little unsatisfied. One reason for hope is the announcement of the 50th anniversary tour in 2018 which hopefully will be the band's big blow-out laying it all on stage like the days of yore. I won't rub it in too much to say that the backstage M&G was freaking awe-inducing. I share the same birthday with Geoff Downes which got me a fist-bump and a big grin. It was also very touching to see Dylan Howe sitting in on percussion/drums and next to his dad Steve at the M&G - two of the most genteel and humble guys in music! A brief note that the joy of this Yestival show was diminished with the passing of Walter Becker; as much as I screamed with joy at the Yes concert I wailed in sadness for the loss of a musical legend. If you have to beg, borrow, or steal go see Yes as many times as humanly possible while they still give a thrill!!

Carl Palmer still has amazing stamina on the drums. Todd Rundgren showed his vocal skills and guitar licks. Yestival with Todd Rundgren and Carl Palmer was a night to remember. I saw Yes twice, in the 70s and the 80s. They sounded as good as ever, and it was a pleasure to see and hear their music live again! Carl Palmer was great, and it was a nice walk down a musical memory lane. But Todd Rundgren was by far the best part of the night for me. He sounded and performed with just as much style, arrogance and energy as when I saw him at Western Washington University in 1979. I loved him then, and I loved him on Saturday night. It really was an epic night!

I wish Carl Palmer and his tribute to ELP would have played longer. He tore it up. With only 2 original YES members playing it was good, but not as good as it once was. I did not care for Jon Anderson's replacement at all. No one can replace him, and although he did a fairly good job, I did not care for the way his body language was a copy of Jon's. As a 66 year old who has been in love with music since I was 5, I have gone to many, many concerts over the years, including several ELP, Todd Rundgren, and YES concerts. It's been a privilege and a thrill to attend amazing concerts by all of these artists. So I was really excited for this show. Carl Palmer (and his band) were incredible. He is still one of the best drummers in the business and he entertained us with a set that honored ELP without over-stepping. Todd Rundgren was at his best. Todd and his band of renowned musicians turned in a generous and entertaining set that featured a good deal of Todd's new material, but with a nice tip of the hat to the past. YES. I admit that I have never see YES without Jon Anderson. Jon Anderson's unique voice IS the voice of YES. Jon Davison does his best to fill those shoes, but doesn't. I thought this version of YES sounded like a good YES cover band. Timing was off on a few songs, and they were pitchy here and there. Jon Davison gave 100% but the rest of the band was not entertaining to watch. The fact they they incorporated a lot of visual distractions saved their performance. Carl Palmer's Legacy ... Yes. Todd Rundgren ... Yes. YES ... no.

I have attended between maybe 15-20 concerts per year every year for the past 30 years with many of them as a VIP ticketholder and this concert YES Meet & Greet experience at Tulalip was the absolute worst. Arrive over one hour early to the venue as instructed and there were three separate long lines of people. One line to Will Call, one line to Main Entrance, and one line to VIP merchandise tent. Unfortunately, no signs nor venue personnel were at the back of the line to instruct VIP ticketholders what the three lines were or where to go and we had to figure out what each line was after we asked about a half dozen other people that had been waiting forever. To be sure, we walked to front of line to ask Staff member, then told to go to end of Will Call line. Wait 20 minutes, get tickets then told to go back to end of merchandise line. Wait 20 more minutes, get VIP memorabilia and then try to enter VIP gate but told we're not the Casino Hotel's "High Rollers & Sponsors" VIP Guests so then told we have to go to the back of the line for the main entrance with all of the other regular ticketholders. Another 20 minute wait. Total frustration. VIP at Tulalip means Very Idiotic People. Finally watch the concert and was very happy with the performances. However, afterwards for the VIP Meet & Greet was another disaster. About 100 people met in the one waiting area after the show, and waited for some instruction, and waited. Finally, we were told to wait in a line over there and we waited, and waited, and waited in the cold dark night air. Finally, they started to parade us into an enclosed tent area to rush us thru for our quick flash photography with the band. Always be ready for the flash because they did not wait for you to pose or smile for the photo. Some photos show the band half asleep or looking down or around. Totally unacceptable photo but that's what you're stuck with. Worst photo ever! We were so frustrated and tired and felt so cheated by the whole VIP experience that we immediately left and didn't even stick around to wait for the autograph session. Besides, that was just one more long line of waiting again. W-O-R-S-T VIP experience ever!!! Never again.

First up was Carl Palmer, who played with Emerson and Lake, forming the band EL&P. Palmer still has it, one amazing drummer, unfortunately they had no vocalist to sing some of their hit songs of the 70's. Todd Rundgren did fill-in on one song "Lucky Man" and of course nailed it. Todd Rundgren and his band were up next and blew the doors out, he is truly the most amazing artist of the 20th and 21st century bar none, wished he would have played as main act and for another 2 hours, instead, Yes was the main liner and basically put me to sleep the first hour of their show, but Rundgren was worth the price of admission.

Such a disappointment. If you are hoping to go to the show and hear classic rock numbers like Starship Trooper, I've Seen All Good People, or Long Distance Runaround, forget it. They don't even do Owner of a Lonely Heart, or anything recognizable from that entire album. Finally, at the end of the show, they throw in Roundabout. Wow. Thanks a lot for trying not to be a complete rip off. Too little too late. If you like their obscure, unknown songs, then this show might be right up your alley. For me, that's not worth $100+ per ticket. I could see a Yes cover band and hear better songs.

Yes picked a song from every album for their programming format.. Unfortunately, this resulted in a collection of obscure songs from older works and too many songs from their later "pop" phase. I preferred to hear their earlier musical pieces. They were far superior to their later ones. Still, it's always a pleasure to hear talented musicians play. So that was enjoyable.

SOUND WAS EXCELLENT!!!! PLAYED A SONG FROM THEIR FIRST 10 ALBUMS. THEN CAME OUT FOR AN ENCORE OF TWO NUMBERS. 1ST WAS MADRIGAL WITH STEVE HOWE ON GUITAR, THEN JOINED BY JON DAVIDSON ON VOCALS & FOLLOWED BYSHERWOOD ON VOCALS. TO ROUND OUT THE NIGHT THEY DID ROUNDABOUT. THE AUDIENCE & I WERE A LITTLE CONFUSED BECAUSE EARLY ON A LOCAL RADIO STATION, DOWNES DID AN INTERVIEW WITH MAX AND STATED THEY WERE GOING TO DO SOMETHING SPECIAL TONIGHT. THEY DIDN'T. NEXT NIGHT IN SAN FRANCISCO THEY DID STARSHIP TROOPER AS THE THIRD ENCORE SONG. GUESS DOWNES GOT HIS SHOWS MIXED UP. THIS WAS THE SHORTEST YES SHOW I'VE SEEN CLOCKING IN AT 90 MIN. BUT ALL IN ALL THEY DIDN'T DISAPOINT, ONE GREAT CONCERT!!!!!! WITHOUT TODD OR CARL PALMER.

I attended the YESTIVAL show in Las Vegas at The Joint in the Hard Rock Hotel. I was surprised to see only about 35-40% of the tickets had been sold. The upper two levels were virtually empty. Musically the show was quite good. However, the set list may be a little obscure to the casual YES fan. This time through, they played one or more songs from the first 10 albums they released. Due to the limited commercial success of many of those albums, many attendees were unfamiliar with several of the songs. That did not deter Jon Davison from giving forth an excellent performance. He has done an outstanding job resurrecting many of old songs that they haven't played live in years. Replacing the late great Chris Squire was Billy Sherwood. The shoes he must fill are large. For me, Chris Squire and John Entwhistle played in a very similar style. By that, I mean that their base line was very melodic, almost a song within a song. Sherwood duplicates the sound quite nicely but is still lacking some of the extra pizzazz that Chris would give you. Not intended to be a criticism, just an observation. Vocally, he seemed a little unsure of himself and lacked the punch that we grew to love from Chris. I was happy to see Alan with the band but sad to see he's having a tough go of it these days. He played a little less than half the set. Steve Howe's son Dylan did a very nice job filling in for Alan on the remainder of the songs and did a little double drumming on a couple of songs which is always fun to watch. Despite the criticism Dylan has received on some of his Dad's solo efforts, I felt like Dylan did a very nice job live. Steve is still the perfectionist he has always been. His repertoire of guitars is slightly smaller than years past relying mostly on his trusty Gibsons ES175, ES345 (signature Model) and a beautiful blond ES5 that I had not seen him play personally. He has updated his Variax 600 to a newer model. You would recognize as the guitar mounted on a stand that he leans over to play while still wearing one of his big Gibsons. His Fender steel also gets plenty of work in this show. Noticeably missing from tonight's show were the Portuguese and Steinberger 12 string guitars simply due to song choice. One side note which I neglected to ask him: Why is he still playing corded guitars? Why not wireless? My hunch is dependability and reliability. One thing he is a stickler for. The MEET and GREET was not worth the added expense in my opinion. For me, Yes is all about Steve Howe, Chris Squire and Alan White.. No offense to Geoffrey Downs (love the guy) but with Chris gone and Alan playing a limited set list, this is essentially the Steve Howe Show. Musically, no complaints in the slightest. However, his all out refusal to sign any musical instrument is a real slap in the face to fans that have honored and appreciated him for the last 40 years. For me, Steve is easily one of the 10 best guitar players ever. Having a nice memorabilia piece signed by him would been a real treat. I play left handed, so any "rightie" I purchase gets mounted on the wall. Because most of the guitars Steve plays are in excess of $5000 I chose to purchase the Variax 600 which is still $800+ to take to the M&G. When I asked Steve to sign it he looked away slightly, made this little euww kind of face, shook his head a couple of time and said "uh no". Needless to say I was disappointed, deflated and a whole long list of words describing my absolute sheer disappointment. I get that some musicians are annoyed that piece they sign end up on EBAY. I gladly display guitars in my house that are personalized: To Mick....Keep on Rockin or Thanks for coming out tonight....Cheers Steve Howe RRHOF 2017 :) That's what I was hoping for. I appealed to his Road Manager Alan and he kindly replied it was not his place to speak to Mr. Howe about it and that I should contact Steve on my own....yeah right. How do I do that? Guitarist like Brian May of Queen, Sell personalized hand signed guitars to concert attendees through his website. Hello, Steve?? are you reading this? Here's another way to monetize your success but more importantly, give the fans something they crave. High Quality, Authentic Memorabilia. In Summary, YESTIVAL is a pass. Under any circumstance, don't spend the extra on the M&G. There's just not much added value if you're hoping to mingle with the band.

I remember Yes from the 70s. This show was boring as could be. Sure He is a great guitarist but his music was just noise, about 5 songs in a row I never heard of and was just uninteresting noise. I finally got up and left after an hour and I was on row 5. I was surprise how many other people were leaving. Everyone was saying the same thing. Yes should of played some songs that were played on the radio and people knew. Sure they might have played 3-4 songs at the end everyone knew but the first hour was just boring.!!!!!!

We were not impressed with Todd Rundgren's act. Too long and very strange! We didn't go to see him anyway. As far as Yes goes, I had thought when I bought tickets that Jon Anderson would be there as lead singer. Instead, it was Jon Davidson. I guess I got my "Jons" confused in my rush to "grab good seats." No one can replace Jon Anderson! Why he never tours anymore, except for one night at the Hall of Fame, I don't know! Also, very few of my favorites were played. Overall, a waste of my time and money!

If I had to do it over again I wouldn't bother. The seat I bought near the front had been displayed as basically the last one in the area when I bought it on line. When I got there jjust before the first act there were dozens of open seats all around me. People from the cheaper seats started moving into the empty seats. At first, some ushers made them move. By the time of the third band they had given up. I could have bought the cheapest seat in the venue and still could have sat in the expensive seat I paid for. The first act, Carl Palmer, was OK, but the bass was way too loud. His using a guitarist to cover Kieth Emerson's parts on classic ELP tracks is weird. He's still a great drummer. Why not form a new band and do new stuff? Todd Rundgren was the main reason I went to the concert. Unfortunately, the bass was so loud it drowned out the entire rest of the band. I was shocked that a guy with Todd's technical chops could allow such a terrible sound mix to ruin his entire set. The Yes band that showed up was OK. The guitarist Steve Howe was great, but the rest of the band seemed like a Yes tribute band. The singer who sounds (imitates) like Jon Anderson does a good job singing like him, but he doesn't compare to the original. Parking in downtown Baltimore is a complete nightmare. I paid $20 to park in the Kaiser medical center lot about 5 blocks from the venue. The open air Pier Six Pavilion is scenic, overlooking the Baltimore harbor. Sadly, there were no restrictions on smoking ioutside the seating areas and heavy smoke from tobacco addicts wafted into the seating area the entire time. The place smelled like one big ash tray. All in all it was a lousy experience and wild horses couldn't drag me back there for another concert regardless of who is on the bill.

And then, the group I had been waiting for, came on. From the first chords, there was something terribly wrong with the sound. Yea, it was "loud" alright, just like every other time I had seen YES, but the distortion from the bass was unbearable. I'm not stupid, and I understand that the bass tracks created by Chris Squire are part of their sound, and even though the bass vibrated our bleacher seats, the distortion was undeniable. I figured that the sound engineer, located "directly" below us, would quickly figure it out. But he didn't. After the third song, I looked at my wife, and could see the pain in her face, and I asked if she wanted to leave. The applause after these first three songs was "polite", but not to the volume given to Todd Rundgren. We went behind our bleaches and I talked to another fan, who echoed the same sediments as me. My wife met another woman in the rest room who said she thought it was her who couldn't tolerate the sound. We left, as they were starting to play a song from "Close to the Edge", but I just couldn't do it anymore.

The band Yes was a very disappointing performance for me. The lead singer who is not an original member was very annoying and had a very funny voice -- he sounded like Mickey Mouse. However, one of the opening acts Todd Rundgren was excellent -- 5 star performance. He stole the show from Yes. The other opening act was Carl Palmer who is the only surviving member of the band Emerson, Lake & Palmer. Carl is a drummer and not a singer. He performed by playing drums and was accompanied by a guitar player and a bass player. There were no vocalists and the songs of Emerson, Lake and Palmer were performed as instrumentals only. While Carl is an excellent drummer, the whole performance lacked without the vocalists.

Yes was very good. Saw ARW last year and impossible not to compare the two groups. ARW was great and not sure about this version of Yes. However, this was a very high quality show. Steve Howe is an amazing guitarist and this was a great representation of Yes. Todd was extremely entertaining. Always interesting to see what Todd is up to. Carl Palmer unfortunately due to time did not play long enough but live the homage to ELP. Wonderful evening of great music.

Carl Palmer was the opening act. It was him on drums accompanied by 2 guitarists. Excellent tunes but no vocals. It was strictly an instrumental show. Todd Rundgren followed. He had 2 scantilly dressed women back up singers who kept changing outfits and hair colors. He played a set of what can only described as techno pop and only played 2 of his old favorites at the end of his time on stage. Very disappointing. Yes rocked the house and was well worth the price of admission.

Volume of unsafe & deafening level, yielding Kleenex in ears by us & others. Filed complaint w/ sound set up company & venue. Music distorted; diff to decipher vocalist's words. Visuals were terrific! Carl Palmer - terrific; entertaining format as always. Todd Rundgren - NOT my style; vocals not always on key. YES - Reason I went; am tired of same old; need to play wonderful music from post 1987 era, like ARW did!

This is NOT YES!!! Steve Howe is dated, Geoff Downes is sloppy and uses horrible sounds like a Casio, Jon Davidson is a bad Jon Anderson rip, and Billy Sherwood is ok but not close to Chris Squire. And then there Alan White, poor ole bugger can't even walk and appeared to be in pain for the three songs he played. Dylan Howe handled the majority of the drum duty and did a good job. This is like seeing a Good cover band, not even a great one. I walked out because they sucked!! Todd R, great artist, bad set list did;nt fit in. Should have played more prog and not his new stuff. Under utilized Kaz Sulton. Slow version of the Icon was disappointing! C. Palmer was great!! Great band and set

I loved all three acts -- Carl Palmer, Todd Rundgren and Yes -- and I've been a fan of all three for decades. Here's the real deal... those who ignorantly criticize Todd's show basically don't know what they're missing. The man has nearly 30 studio albums and everything he's released from 2000 on is really, really good. It's OK if the music isn't everyone's cup of tea, but you would hope that people would recognize good music when played and a great performance when it's performed by an unabashed musical genius. Rather than criticize for not playing songs from 1972-80 how about listening to one of the albums he's released over the past 20 years? His album Liars (he played two songs from this) is a masterpiece. So realize he really needs to play most of the "newer" songs to promote them and hope that people enjoy and recognize how wonderful his newer songs are. Really -- the song Truth from Liars is just as great if not more so than I Saw the Light from Something/Anything. For once I welcomed the diversity of the acts. Palmer was great but those who thought Yes was the best clearly have never seen them with Anderson, Squier, Wakeman etc. They were just OK. Loved the unusual set list though.

I am not sure why this was called Yestival? ELP were very good but needed a vocalist. Todd Rundgren was good but played too long. I thought all of these musicians would play YES songs with YES. YES was GREAT!!! The sound was too too loud for the Hershey Theatre Venue. Glad I had ear plugs; lot of people sat in the lobby where you could hear the music tolerably. Many people just left. There was no need for the volume to be so high. In a small theatre as is Hershey loud was not needed. The YES music was solid and excellent musicianship. If they return to Hershey Theatre please make sure they turn down the sound system. Thank You. baroque

I think Yes and Carl Palmer did a great job. Carl obviously wanted to play longer, and I wished he could have. Seemed like a real gentleman. "Yes" also did a great job. However, the reason I went to this concert was to see Todd Rundgren and I wish I hadn't. He has a great voice, but nothing he played was really familiar and made me feel like I was in a Russian disco. I know I am a little long in the tooth, but if you are hoping to hear some 70's and 80's stuff - this is not your concert. He sang "Hello, its me", seemed board singing it (I get that) and that was pretty much it for the old stuff. I will go see both Yes and Carl Palmer, again. Still like Todd, but I will have to get my fix from the albums I guess.

Hershey venue is relatively small. Nice view from almost every seat. All the act were excellent. Nice variety of selections from all the acts. Was surprised at ELP Legacy execution of song selections without the synthesizer and vocals. Only 1/2 hour set with 4 songs. Guitarists were very commendable. Todd did a very good show. You really have to be a fan to fully appreciate. Still has a good voice. 1 hour set. YES did a fine job. Missed a couple of favorites, Starshiptrooper and Awaken. 2 hour set. The only problem I had was the volume for such a small area. Even with earplugs, resonance of the bass or keyboards caused by head to vibrate on a lot of the songs.

Nice to hear him do so many relatively recent songs from "Liars", "State", "Global", and "White Knight", closing with the inevitable but still inspired and inspiring "Just One Victory". 4th time we've seen Todd in last year and a half and every time it's different (even if it's similar. Played stuff from new album, same fantastic touring band, the Global Girls ALL AMAZING. Would see him again in a heartbeat. Would have enjoyed: Man in the TinFoil Hat, Evrybody and Holy Land. He might have done, but wasn't the headliner. Ii've always wanted to see Yes live. I would say this was a Yes experience, but the lineup has always changed through the years I finally got to see one of my guitar heroes Steve Howe. They did not disappoint. It rained at the outdoor event toward the end of the Yes set and most of us stayed and were rewarded with Roundabout. YES! Unfortunately we arrived too late to catch Carl Palmer's ELP Legacy.

The acoustics were so bad all you could hear was loud noise. Yes' lead singer was dull and boring. Todd was wonderful, full of energy, howerever it would have been nice to make out at least some of his lyrics, impossible due to the horrible mix between vocals and instruments. Unless there was a solo it all sounded like one big blob of noise. Terrible!!! Oh! I attend at least 3 concerts a year at different venues with no complaints. This show was awful.

The venue itself is very nice, near ample reasonable parking and many restaurants. Carl Palmer's ELP legacy sounded fine, but everything was instrumental, would have preferred vocals. Todd Rundgren was doing some R&B persona, whereas I prefer his rock side, so the only thing I really liked was "This is not a Drill" from the new CD. Yes current touring concept is to play at least 1 song from each of their first nine albums so I was exposed to some songs that were good that I wasn't familiar with. I rated the concert, good but not great.

I have seen yes many times in my life, some average some amazing. I would rather just see them alone. Carl Palmer experience with very good musicians were excellent. Todd Rundgren was a huge disappointment a complete waste of time. I would have rather have seen yes play a longer set instead of waiting till 9:20 to see them come on stage. I just don't get the Todd Rundgren thing why they thought he would fit in the mix. He was just awful. However yes was good A bit off at times I think they're tour just starting at something to do with that but Billy Sheraton their bass player was absolutely amazing. Seem like he was note-for-note, and it was as if Chris Squire was playing through him. Totally amazing best musician on stage by far. And I am a huge huge Steve Hal fan. But Billy stole the show in my opinion

Carl Palmer, accompanied by a quality bass and guitar player, played a short all instrumental set that was very good. I knew all but one song and will be looking for the album with the song I didn't know. The set was very high energy. Todd Rundgren's set was lower energy. The band was left in the background. Todd moved well for his age and survived tripping to the stage over a monitor. I didn't know most of the songs, but I could tell which were songs were recorded earlier in his career, since the backup singers needed to cover for his voice. A fan of his in the next seat enjoyed the set. YES played a set that lasted about 1h 40m that included one song form each of their first nine albums. It was good to see the change in the set after the last few concerts. The current vocalist was great, especially on You and I and Starship Trooper. He was much more relaxed and expressive than when I last saw him in 2015. Now that Steve Howe is the senior member of YES, the set featured him, this is a good thing. The biggest worry I had going into the concert was the new bass player. Chris Squire was YES, but the current bass player was very good with a couple of exceptions. Alan White was MIA for a number of songs, not sure why, but, the other drummer was good. (on many songs, both drummers played) Geoff Downs still isn't able to play all of the keyboard parts, but the ones he can play, he is very good.

ELP Legacy is the perfect opener for Yes. And Yes was mindblowing and sound like they are still in their 20's. BUT Todd Rundgren SUCKED!! I've been to over 350 concerts and he was the absolute worst thing I have ever ever had to sit through. He only played one song that anyone in the entire audience recognized and he somewhat butchered that one. The rest was absolute garbage and wish I could get those 45 minutes of my life back. Hell I had to spend another 20 minutes apologizing to my friend since I had been telling him for days how great it was gonna be to see Todd Rundgren play.

They were supposed to play one song from each of the first 10 studio albums. For two of the albums, Relayer and TFTO they only played excepts from songs from those albums. Lazy! As far as the other song selections I was hoping for some deep cuta that have not been played live recently but they just recycled songs that have been included on the past 2 or 3 tours. They seem to just be phoning it in. Also two openning acts so Yes can play less. Quite disappointing.

Yes is the premiere progressive rock band of the '70s and '80s ... they had the richest keyboards (Wakeman), the most underrated guitarist ever (Howe) and rich, layered harmonies exploring meaningful ideas. In Baltimore Monday, we struggled to hear the current keyboard and the wonderful lead singer Jon Davison over the pounding bass and ear-splitting drums. Clearly, their sound techs' eardrums are blown. We had to listen to Yes CDs in the car to get the Yessongs back in our heads. Rundgren mocked himself and rock's evolution with a bizarre and self-absorbed conglomeration of styles and flash. The girls in hotpants and red bras were an embarrassment for some of us Nazz admirers. Carl Palmer and two young gifted musicians did a 20-minute vocal-less tribute to EL&P which could've been an hour.

Subject: SER: Shows I'll Never Forget : Yes. - Yesterval Pier Six Concert Pavilion Baltimore Maryland August 7, 2017 It seems like only Yesterday that I saw Yes here in Baltimore in 2015. While that show was one of many experiences seeing the Worlds Greatest Progressive Rock band, the show did mark the first time I would see Yes without guiding light and cofounder Chris Squire. Now, years and a few tours later the band continues to evolve. While Billy Sherwood is firmly established as bassist, switching from his 90's duties on guitar, the Yestival tour with The Carl Palmer's ELP Experience and Todd Rundgren Marks the return of long time drummer Alan White, who sat out most of the 2016/winter 2017Tales/Drama album tour. Additionally, drummer Dylan Howe has been added to the rhythm section for the tour which covers the band's history through the first 10 studio albums. Taking the stage after a high powered set by Todd Rundgren, the band looked surprisingly relaxed and self assured. Surprising because both Sherwood and keyboardist Geoff Downes just finished an extensive tour with the band Asia less than 2 weeks ago. The confidence level was also surprising because none of the current members played on the original recordings of the first two songs. Indeed, I don't believe "Survival" has ever been played by most of the band including long time guitarist Steve Howe and drummer Alan White. Not that this seemed to matter as the band jumped in with both feet. Sherwood's bass was front in center followed by Downes' growling Hammond like organ sound. Dylan Howe and Alan White provided a jazz back beat which was quickly accompanied by Steve Howe's acoustic and electric playing. The band's opening with a Yes deep track was a shot across the bow. "Time and A Word" from the album of the same name was rendered with the delicacy and nuance it deserves. Jon Davison made the song his owe, and the band seemed totally at ease with the classic having played it back as recently as 2015 . " Yours is No Disgrace" ramps the energy up considerably. Dylan Howe and Alan White, pull off the original Bill Bruford drum opening with a well practiced precision while Steve Howe and Geoff Downes take flight. The vocal blend of the Yes choir is superb and Sherwood walking bass is reminiscent of the master. " Southside of The Sky"' from Fragile presented a pleasure surprise from the Fragile album. The opening drum salvo, unique on the orginal version was carried out with enthusiasm . Though the song was performed during the 3 album tour the band seemed well practiced to handle its nuances. Downes piano break was assured and he made no effort to cover the Wakeman passages note for note. Davison's lead vocal growled with passion as did the drumming of Dylan Howe. The song seemed transformed from the version on the live, Like It Is album. " And You And I" and "The Leaves of Green" both have been given workouts recently by the band on prior U.S. Tours and were carried out in workman like fashion. Howe, Sherwood and Davison all providing fine performances of 'Leaves' as they did during the Tales/Drama tour last year. The double drumming on And You and I was the pulse the song needed. "Soon" presented the only slight disappointment of the night. The excerpt from the Relayer album is a fine short form song but there are so many great elements on the that you could ask for from the album that it was a bit of a let down. I suspect an epic like "The Gates of Delirium" will have to what to a tour for the Relayer album. "Going for The One" and "Don't Kill The Whale" both were given excellent work outs during the 2015 tour too . Still the songs have lost none of their impact. Indeed, with Dylan Howe's added presence on drums these two rocked with even more intensity. Steve Howe continues to amaze with his Slide guitar work on the former and his Les Paul leads and solos on the latter. I've never heard a more raunchy version of 'Whale'. "Machine Messiah" was an insanely powerful epic closer to the Yes set. Though the song smoked with Jay Shellen providing the back beat on the last tour, Alan White and Dylan combined to give the song a pulse that it has been missing in recently years. The Howe opening lead was totally locked in with Downes' 80 era keyboard sound. Davidson and Sherwood's harmony vocals were in sublime only to be topped by Billy Sherwood's phenomenal bass runs. The night could not be topped, yet Yes pulled out two of the more commonly played Yes numbers forgoing a deep cut played earlier in the tour. Are there other songs from the first 10 albums I wished they had played? Yes! Was the performance at this year's YEStival epic? The answer is Yes! Luckily this tour continues for several more weeks in North America and there are even bigger Yes plans for the Yes 50 year celebration in 2018! The 2017 version of Yes can still deliver and the promise of 2018 seems even more fascinating.

I used Parking Panda and parked 5 min from the venue for $1 (!) A brief walk with umbrella, and a $10 hamburger later, I was in my seat. Carl Palmer opened with two young musicians and MAN were they great. A bunch of ELP tunes sans voce, and so much energy! Two takeaways: 1) Carl Palmer has the vitality and passion of a 20-year-old. Amazing man, and his chops are as fine as ever. Who ever saw a Moog Synth Solo performed using a Chapman Stick? LOL - wonderful treat. I have been a "side-listener" of Todd Rundgren for these many decades. First time I ever saw him perform live, and I loved it! Another energy-bunny guy that makes me want to exercise and eat better! he's what, 68? 69? Bouncing around with sexy young girls (great talented and very capable young ladies) like HE was 20? What the heck? His voice is in great form too. Finally: YES: just wonderful. A song an album from the first album through Drama. A REAL treat for me was hearing SURVIVAL live! In my 50 plus tours now, I have never heard that song performed on stage. Kudos, guys! All were energetic and happy, and I for one think Steve Howe looks VERY good with his new beard! Go Steve :) Musical performance was great. Acoustics were not so great - keys and vocals lost in the mix sometimes. The lighting and video were definitely stepped up from the last many years' shows. Really cool, and sometimes mesmerizing. Great job on that, everyone. So I think this is something like the 53rd time I've seen YES live. Like everyone, I miss the old members, but let me tell you - this line up is tremendous. Steve Howe's son Dylan performed a large portion of the drumming, and I think it is because Alan White is still recovering from back surgery. Heal fast, Alan, I can't wait to see you on your drummer's throne on Cruise to the Edge 2018 :) Great job, all groups - I had a fantastic evening watching you and listening to you! Rock on!

This is a review of the whole event, not just Yes. Carl Palmer's ELP tribute was very lacking. This showcased his drum playing but that was it. There were no vocals and it just left me very disappointed. Todd Rundgren was more of the same. He did a 13 song set however only one of his hits was played, Hello It's Me. The rest of the set was stuff that very few people recognized. Yes did great. Steve Howe is still a fantastic guitar player. Their new singer has some big shoes to fill vocally but he does it admirably. If this was a Yes only concert, I would rate it higher but the other 2 acts really diminished it for me. Note that if you are looking at tickets for this, check the setlist because the other Yes, the one with John Anderson and Trevor Rabin, is also touring as Yes with AWR.

It was good to see Carl Palmer looking healthy and playing strong. Todd was having multiple tech issues and the vocals were at times blown out , yet pulled off a decent set. When it worked lighting and production as well as choreography (yeah really) were elaborate and impressive. They made the set for me with a super rendition of Just One Victory as the final encore. I'll leave the assessment of Todd's political agenda up to you. Yes was very impressive! Steve Howe seemed to be struggling at first but was right there by the 3rd song (Yours Is No Disgrace). Although Jon Davison has a little less range and power than Anderson , he covers the part well. Geoff Downes was super on keys and Billy Sherwood was absolutely outstanding on bass. I wasn't too sure about the duel drummers , but it worked. Yes chose challenging material for the set and pulled it off well! Very glad I was there and highly recomed this event.

Carl Palmer ROCKED for 20 minutes, Todd Rundgren played for what felt like forever (which is good if your a big Rundgren fan. Yes played for an hour and 30 minutes- at the most. Didn't recognize lead singer. Jon Anderson, apparently replaced 5 years ago. New guy can't hit the same high notes, and sounds different.

Pretty disappointed with the Carl Palmer "ELP" Experience! They couldn't SPRING for a VOCALIST? KARN EVIL #9 is just not the experience I was hoping for without the SIGNATURE lyrics "Welcome Back My Friends..." Todd Rundgren, I thought would have HAD an EXCELLENT voice to employ. His show was (even with the imperfections--which he FREELY admitted) "BANGING"!! And then the highlight of the evening, "YES" in concert, I thought could have been better if they hadn't concentrated SO MUCH on the lesser "later" albums. GONE was "All Good People", "Starship Trooper", and I'm wondering if the rain (that began to pour down) curtailed the ENCORE--in which we didn't hear "Owner of a Lonely Heart"??

yes was good but seemed a little rusty, neat having steve's son back-up on drums, is AW coming off the road? huh. I really like carl palmer tribute good thought but seriously, WO/ lake vocals and ESPECIALLY keyboards from Keith. every song I close my eyes and imagine HUGE SYNTH/KEYBOARDS but they were missing sooo much. Todd RUNDGREN was pretty good as never been a big fan but they were pretty good, only complaint was sound control really way off, and poor mixing evident on 2nd song had to stop start over. another song not sure they were able to even do due to issues delays, it interrupted flow of show a little irritating. I heard this 1st show of tour so issues could be expected. overall I would recommend this. too unfortunately it started raining 20 minutes b4 end of show. it was fun though.

Great concert overall; only complaint is that Todd R played way too long! YES was the headliner!

In one night, three rock icons from the 1970s still going strong. Carl Palmer's ELP Legacy performed instrumental versions of ELP classics, Todd Rundgren with a very strong and high energy set, and the final act, Yes, played a piece from each of their first 10 albums in chronological order. VERY happy with the performers and choice of material.

It's not a 'full festival experience'. It's just a triple bill concert. The disparity between marketing and execution is disturbingly humorous. I mean, they don't even try. Carl Palmer's ELP Legacy is not to be missed. Very inventive and also respectful to Emerson. Rundgren is featuring mostly newer material with a touch of Utopia and early solo. YES is pathetic. Howe can't keep up (playing behind the band all night, missing many notes along the way), Alan White is literally not to be heard, and Dylan Howe sounds like a softer Bruford. Billy and Davison play and sing the notes, but the passion is missing. So many missed setlist opportunities.... A Relayer medley, perhaps? An abridged TFTO? Some actual effort to keep these tired old songs interesting? These guys are showing up barely even rehearsed, much less reaching for anything resembling new ground. Same boring show, poorly played, cheaply executed. Oversold and under-delivered right down to the 'festival experience'.

Overall, Yestival 2017 was good. I wish that Carl Palmer and his band played more than the 30 minutes allotted. They were FANTASTIC! He even autographed merchandise after his set which was very nice. His band COOKED. But, unfortunately, at the 25 minute mark, he was introducing is final song! :( I had seen Todd Rungren twice with Utopia (late 70's, early 80's?) and thoroughly enjoyed their progressive rock music. Tonight, unfortunately, we got little of that. I am not a "Todd is God" fan although I recognize his immense talent and creativity. I really didn't enjoy his set this time but many in the crowd did. I would have enjoyed the show more if it were a Yes/Carl Palmer double bill. Yes was very enjoyable. Of course I would have much preferred it if Jon Anderson and Rick Wakeman were playing with Steve Howe but I love Jon Davison also and hope that he will be part of the mix should any reconciliation ever occur. That being said and given the fact that Yes "official's" summer tours tend to lean toward shorter sets unlike their other recent tours which are 2 to 3 hours and full albums are played adventurously, I did like the setlist selection. Yes played one track off each of their first 10 albums and substituted some deeper tracks for the more predictable hits in more than a couple of cases. I really appreciated that! This was opening night and I felt that the drumming didn't gel quite well yet but that will get better as the tour goes on. Steve Howe was great as usual and Jon Davison is doing fantastic and brings a great vibe to the stage. And Chris Squire's hand-picked replacement, Billy Sherwood, is quite a good bass player and his love and respect for Yes music in particular and progressive rock in general is quite evident. The venue on opening night was an outdoor amphitheatre and it began raining during the latter part of Yes' set. For safety reasons, Yes only played one of the three scheduled encore songs. I was really looking forward to seeing them play Madrigal tonight but I am more interested in the bands' safety so that we can enjoy many more shows like this one! I recommend the show!

Audience seemed somewhat divided between Rundgren fans and Yes/Palmer fans. Seems like Todd would have had material to better fit the entire audience, but his part seemed out of step with the Yestival Prog rock theme. His set was too long and Carl's too short. Yes was great and Carl Palmer even greater than I expected! He managed to recreate ELP hits without Emerson and Lake in a way that didn't try to replace them, but elevated their memories. Great show, but unless you're a real Todd Rungren fan go get a couple of beers during his set.

Palmer rocked. Set was too short. Todd and Yes were heavy on the volume and could not hear the lyrics. Any messages being made were missed.
