I have been a fan for 40 years and am so glad we went. Maybe the best show I have ever attended. 3 founding members, horns as tight as ever, harmonies fantastic amd a new lead singer. They got Neil Donell from a Chicafo tribute band, Brass Transit and he is a great as good or better as Peter Cetera in his prime. I was surprized they played the entire Chicago II album to start the show, took a break and them played every hit.

The review title says it all. Chicago still puts on a great show with plenty of high energy and some of the most memorable songs of the 60 s, 70 s, and 80 s! Lots of fun to watch and listen to live!

Earth, Wind and Fire are my all time favorite band ever and I finally got the chance to hear them in concert! It was worth the wait! I was in heaven! Chicago was the very first concert I ever attended in my life and seeing them in concert once again brought back a flood of great memories! They were awesome! The two together were my dream concert! They worked so well together and sounded so great together! I will recommend them to everyone I can!

Both opened together, then EWF, then Chicago (with each group joining the other for a song/support during each others show), then both again for a mini-set of new songs by both groups and a few olds song sung together! They compliment each other very well!

The EWF and Chicago concert was enjoyable, but had some acoustical issues with chicago. It sounded like they were in a tunnel giving the voices tin sound. The seats were awesome when people would sit down so others could enjoy the concert. Overall the evening was enjoyable but would think twice before going to another concert.

Each group played to their strengths when on stage as a single band. Both played a single song from the other band with their own style of jazz and blues. Both did an outstanding job too! But the two bands together in the very begining and then at the end were stronger than the sum of their parts. Having 20 people doing brass, guitars, keyboards, drums, percusion and bass just really made a complete scene. The crowd was up on its feet and dancing and singing to all the words. All night there were great hits as well as solos by each. This is the 3rd time I have seen them since the two groups began hooking up together. They both compliment each other with their style and the different genres of music.

EWF/Chicago was a great concert! Sandia is a great venue and there isn't a bad seat in the house. Chicago didn't seem to have the benefit of the same technical quality of sound that EWF had - no reflection on the musicians, they just needed more help than they got in the sound department and the musicians seemed to sense that on stage. I had a great time!

I have seen many shows at the Sandia Casino, and I have to say, without a doubt, the show I saw last night was the BEST show I have seen in a long long time. The energy pouring from these guys is so intense at times, you can't help but DANCE! I sat next to Governor Richardson of New Mexico and he was enjoying it immensely! Even though the concert was both EW&F and Chicago I felt that EW&F put on the best show. I've seen them countless times and they never disappoint. Chicago was good but sometimes you couldn't hear their singers and missed Peter Cetera. But to have both groups on the stage at once doing back up on each others songs at the begining and at the end was incredible!!!!!

Chicago is more than an iconic band. They are still playing after 50 YEARS together. This was the 4th time I had seen Chicago and they were as amazing as ever. All of the founding members are over 70 years old and they can rock it better than many teenagers today. The music was great, the background videos they play are wonderful and thought out. And best of all you can tell these guys are still having a blast after playing these songs for years. I don't believe any of the songs played were less than 30 years old. I love their new stuff as well, however, the audiences want the old stuff. They are starting a new tour with REO Speedwagon next month. Go see them. You will enjoy it!

Show was great. To hear Chicago 2 live was amazing, almost like a time capsule. I have to admit I was skeptical about this at first, but it is surprisingly relevant for today s social issues, which is likely their reason for playing a 4 sided, 47 year old album. Jimmy and Robert both talked to the audience about it and to hear their recollections about the album and the band tied it all together nicely, especially Jimmy describing how challenging it was to relearn all these songs for a live audience. One particularly nice moment was Lou and Keith s acoustic duet. Regarding bandmember changes, it was barely noticeable to the overall show. Walfredo was a monster on the drums and his solo with Ramon was both exciting to hear and see. Neil s vocals were exciting and effortless. The videos and pictures, along with everyone s on stage rapport, make this show as exciting to watch as it is to hear. If your favorite songs were recorded after 1980, they play a few, which Neil sings wonderfully, but the show is more about old days. Only downside was sound mixing. Vocals were a little lost in the mix but this could be due to the inside venue and my proximity to the stage. See them while you can!

Main show was the entire 2nd album, but I knew only one song (25 or 6 to 4), but after the main set, they took a 20 minute intermission and came back to do a lot more of their best known and loved songs. Long show - 3 hours. Great talent. Would have preferred an entire show of best hits.

Saw the "original" Chicago in the early 90's at Robinson Auditorium and they left quite an impression. The original band members are now in their 50's and 60's, but still kickin' it. The last time we went to Verizon Arena it was called Alltel Arena. We had floor seats about 50 yards from the stage and the acoustics were so bad we walked out mid show. For Chicago we had front row seats, so the acoustics were good... No microphones or amplifiers needed. That being said, I don't understand why the horn players were so close to the front of the stage. They tended to drown out the vocals throughout the show, particularly if the instrument was pointed in your direction. The energy of the band members was fantastic considering some are in their golden years, and the show was great. We didn't recognize their new tunes as they don't get a lot of air time anymore. Fortunately they played a number of the "oldies" and the crowd went wild and sang along.

What an awesome concert. Chicago played their whole 2nd album for the first time in many years. It is up for an award and it should be. It is a fantastic work of music. Chicago then performed all their greatest hits. The show lasted almost 2 1/2 hours. With no on cores. They didn't need one, they played everything and played great and they knew it. What a amazing, fantastic, awesome show. The only thing that could have been better is Saenger sound system wasn't good enough to give the audience the crisp sound of 10 band members playing and singing at the same time.

Chicago still has the vocal harmony and musicality that sets their jazzy rock genre apart from the other classic rock groups. Their new lead vocalist sounds everybit as good as their former bassist he replaced. My only criticism was that the first six songs played were not recognizable hits that most people never heard of or could relate to. After that distraction they played one hit after another and the show was great from that point on!

Being a lover of great music I really enjoyed the concert. The music was amazing. The horns and percussion were amazing. I would suggest that they open with an old and known hit And even though they are trying to promote their new music they should integrate that with old songs not start the concert with nothing but new songs. I noticed a lot of people just sitting watching not really getting into it because they didn't know the music at the beginning. Once they started playing known hits and known songs everyone was dancing and really enjoying themselves. The Majestic Theater is a beautiful place to have an event I'm not sure what was wrong with the speaker system that night but some talking and some singing sounded muffled through the speakers. Maybe speakers need to be put further towards the back of the center. Overall I would definitely recommend this event to someone I had a really good time and so did my mom it was a Christmas present. I know also that CDs are not used as much as they used to be but it would have been great to have a CD available to sell at the concert.

Chicago was great!!! The venue was great didn t care for my row having to get up every three minutes to get a drink or go to the bathroom. Yes we had an end of the aisle seat but these people would come from the other end that also had a way out. They would come our way cause it was closer to the bar. Then the couldn't find where they needed to go so they would try other rows. I counted I got up a total of 18 times to let the same group of people in and out. The opening bad jd and the straight shots were okay they were more of a bluegrass band. They played a song that was written for Trevon Martin this was little much or the song telling us to get to church because we are sinners. They could have got a rock band to open.

I cannot say enough about the Chicago concert. There has always been bands that played guitars and other stringed instruments, but the blend of the horns has always been that solid sound that brought the music alive for me. When i was in Vietnam, Chicago was the band that reminded me of home and brought inspiration to my soul. I was impressed by the fiddle / violin musician lady of and the male 12 string guitar musician of the JD & The Straight Shot. The overall tone of the music and words of the JD & The Straight Shot seemed very downcast and negative. It definitely was not what I had anticipated as the opening act before Chicago. Very disappointed in JD & The Straight Shot except for the lady that played the fiddle/violin and the man that played the 12 string guitar. These two were very vibrant in their presentation and their musical talents.

JD and the Straight Shot were okay other than the screeching fiddle and that girl's voice. I put my fingers in my ears. Decibel level...whoa...way too loud. Chicago was superb, as always, a great performance. But, again, way too loud. Not sure if it was a Majestic issue or a band setup issue, but the music overpowered any chance for vocals to come through, so loud it was on the verge of distortion at times. Would have been 5 stars if not for the noise. Obviously not a head banger here.

Second time seeing Chicago. Last time was at Isleta. The band is excellent with over 2 hours of playing music with a 20 minute break in the middle. The first half was the entire second album and after the break were all the hits that sounded as good as the originals. Kiva seats are wide and comfortable but not much forward slope to the floor. Unless you are taller than those in front of you it is hard to see. Like other places where the seats are in a half circle, unless you are in the center all you see are ears on stage. No big screen TV's to show you the view from the front.

Chicago is one of the best live bands around! I read ahead of time that the first part of the concert would be the band performing the album "Chicago 2." There were several hits off that album, which the crowd came alive for. The lesser known songs were good, but, of course, the crowd was there for the years of hits! The second set was a sample of each decades' hit songs. It didn't disappoint! That is when the crowd truly got into the music. The band was high energy and amazing. Love me some Chicago!!!

Chicago rocked the "Air Capital" at Wichita's Hartman Arena with their signature horns, outstanding vocals, and high quality performance of their extensive catalog of hits. Their 1st set included the entirety of their Chicago II album and the 2nd set showcased more hits. New comers Neil Donnel (tenor), Brett Simons (bass), and Walfredo Reyes (percussionist moved to drum set) & his brother Danny Reyes (percussion) enhance the already musically superb group. The 3 original members have surrounded themselves the best musicians to give their fans the pinnacle of performance.

It's always awesome to see great musicians who have perfected their craft. That's what Chicago brought to Jesse Auditorium last Sunday Night. The sound was tight. The horns magical. While I wasn't crazy about the fact that the band led with their whole second album, some of those songs were good though I had never heard them. With their catalog, they can do nothing but hits. Still the musical performance on those songs was also top notch. A fun evening with an old friend!

This concert was wonderful. The venue acoustics were poor (echo chamber), but Chicago made the best of it. Overall, a great night! Returned to our hotel and booked Chicago / REO Speedwagon for June. On a personal note, I had no idea the talent level of Walfredo Reyes Jr. He absolutely rocked me to the core. I'm an "old" drummer who has heard many over the years. The Reyes brothers are a super boost to my favorite band of all time. Thanks for a great night Chicago!

If you like early Chicago, you'll love this show. A good portion of the show was dedicated to Chicago 2, and select songs from Chicago Transit Authority, Chicago 5 and Chicago 7. Not many of their 80's tunes, which was fine with me

Loved the concert at the Five Flags Center, a cozy venue, with great views of the band, and a great sound system to be able to hear them. Did the meet and greet after the show, a thrill of a lifetime for me!

Chicago at the Fairplex was awesome, they could have played a little longer, maybe 2hrs instead of just a little over 1-1/2hr.

Was able to snag 2 tix for 3rd row, just off-center to the right. Performance was high energy. Every song a hit. Also bought the picture option for afterwards - the members were really gracious as I shook several of their hands and complimented each one of them. Not pretentious. Genuinely appreciative. Will absolutely see them again whenever they re close to the LA area.

We greatly enjoyed the Chicago concert at the Rio Vista Outdoor Amphitheater at Harrah's in Laughlin, NV. Rio Vista is a smaller, more personal venue. Chicago did their usual excellent show. Their talent, joy and zeal for what they do is so apparent in their performance! :D

I've been waiting over 40 years to see the band Chicago perform. I was NOT disappointed - this band is great. They produce the sound and experience I'd been waiting for. I loved the LONG set list (30 songs). It's awesome that this concert was in a Theater setting. The videos shown behind the band were spot on. I LOVED everything about this concert!

I can believe they've been together for 50 years because the band is really tight! They sounded just as good September 3, 2017 as they did when I saw them back in 1985. If you ever get a chance to go see Chicago, I suggest you go!!

I first saw this band circa 1970 (I am old) and 5 times more since. They never disappoint! We were a little bummed however on Sunday when Jimmy Pankow was absent. We sorely missed his stage antics. Was very cool when percussionist Walfredo Reyes Jr. was going so crazy on his set that he toppled over to the ground. A roadie, quick on his feet, reacted and saved him so all was well.

If you have not been to the Vino Robles Winery amphitheatre, it is a beautiful venue without a bad seat, including lawn seating which is what we had. Took out stadium chairs and we were glad we did for the back support because Chicago played for over two hours and they were great. A better show than when we saw them four years ago

We thought Chicago gave an incredible performance! What was really terrific was that even though they have been performing this music for 50 years (and there are still at least 3 of the original members of the band), they look and sound like they still LOVE the music and performing together. They had energy, musicality, stage presence and seemed to really love being up there. All of this in 110 degree weather - unbelievable! The audience loved them. I first saw Chicago as CTA, when they were the warm up band for Hendrix at the Forum in LA, so this was a walk down memory lane for me. And it was better than ever. I was super happy that we went, it was an incredible performance and evening.

This was a special for my husband. I have seen Chicago before and loved the show. My husband had stars in his eyes. He loved the show. The band is still as amazing as they were 25 years ago at the Greek Theatre!! The venue was beautiful and we look forward to more concerts there.

Not only do they have every instrument in their band, but the singers are great and they alternate songs with different singers so you are not constantly listening to one vocal. Their new lead singer came on in 2016 and brought back so many memories for he sounds just like the original singer. This band has great instrumentals, songs, showmanship and sound. You couldn't ask for anything better if you are attending a true and down to earth concert!

We have seen Chicago over 7 times. This is one of their best times ever. They seemed to really enjoy playing this time and it showed. Nick Lane did a great sub job and should be an addition to the band

What a great evening and a wonderful way to celebrate our 15 year anniversary! Chicago was amazing, and it is their 50 year anniversary as a band! Back in 1991, Chicago was my favorite band and my first concert, here at the Chateau Ste Michelle Winery! They were just as good...maybe even better than back then! We sat on the lawn, comfortable and sound was awesome! Delicious wine and we got to bring our own picnic. Fun dancing with friends to the music! Everyone was dancing towards the end of the concert...it was spectacular!

Chicago is a band that's 50 years young! And the depth of their talent has never stopped growing all these years! That's why this music is timeless and this band is a must-see show! The BIG moments with the horn section blasting to the solo keyboard moments with Robert Lamm, there is no letdown in talent. Some bands after so man years really should hang it up. These guys will stop playing when they believe they're not giving the best they've ever been. The song range that they can select and play from makes you realize you could go to a dozen concerts and know you'll hear something new every time. Every member of this band is a phenomenal musician - from the still founding members, to the added members along the way. This Chicago band must be heard in concert to be completely appreciated! And they LOVE playing their music! As a lifelong fan for as long as they've been around, it took me until this year to finally see them in concert. I wish I hadn't waited so long. I'll see them again next year!!
