Staind

STAIND IN CONCERT:With three consecutive No. 1 albums of anthemic nu metal in the '00s, Staind became one of the most successful alt-rock groups of the decade.  Blending muscular guitar shredding and singer Aaron Lewis's emotional, melodic lyrics, the band's impressive live shows span their entire discography, treating fans to studio-perfect renditions of their biggest hits alongside alternative, countrified versions of songs like "Mudshovel." With rumors of new material beginning to circulate, the band's 2014 tour dates are sure to contain a few special surprises for their loyal fans.

Venue great....seats great....the band barely spoke.... Just performed their music n left (8:30-9:50). I sang along to every song but I was more hype about being there than they were.... So yes a little disappointing.

I have never seen them in concert before but after this show I want to go whenever they are in the area. They had an unannounced opening band (Sakara) that is produced by the bassist and they performed extremely well. When Staind came on stage and started playing it was as good as the recorded versions. Aaron Lewis sounds just like the cd with no need to add enhancements to his voice. One of the most unique things I have ever seen is the fact that they do a 3 song encore. They come out with Mudshovel to get the crowd going again and then mellow it down with It's Been Awhile. Aaron Lewis then says that its too slow to go out with that song so he has one more and they play For You. It was a really good show that packs well played music with Aaron Lewis's funny personality. Bottom line is if you are a Staind fan or a rock fan in general go see this 20 year old Billboard topping band while you can!

Halestorm's performance was not very good, although they did at least get the crowd into it. Chevelle was very disappointing, several missed notes, some mic feedback, made it feel like you were watching your neighbor kid's garage band. Shinedown was simply amazing, every song played well, and a nice song selection. As always they got the crowd involved, there wasn't a single person sitting down in the building while they were playing. Staind started out well by playing Raw, but after that, a horrible song selection. Most of what they played were not hits and Aaron's voice didn't sound too good. Overall I was disappointed with the concert, however this is the first stop for the tour so some of the kinks need to get worked out. I have seen Chevelle twice before this concert and they were amazing so I'm sure they won't be so bad the next shows, same for Staind although they could use a better setlist.

We thoroughly enjoyed both the show and the venue. As an "older rocker" (but not ready for "the chair", YET) My lady-friend and I had a wonderful time, enjoyed fellow-polite fans for an evening of outstanding metal and ballads, mixed perfectly and presented professionally by a grouping of well-matched, complimentary artisans of a "not appreciated enough" genre of American music. Although the security did their jobs TOO well (wouldn't let us on the floor, even though there was plenty of room) we were still able to shake and sway in the reserved seats (WHY did I buy THOSE?) and commiserate w/ wonderful, tattooed and pierced, and not, fans.

Overall I thought it was a good show. Thought Shinedown did the best - all excellent songs. Halestorm had a good show, and later with more experience, will be a great band! Always love Chevelle. My friend and I (he is male) thought Staind was boring, so we left.

I was really disappointed with the sound quality of Chevelle's performance although they are an awsome band. I found myself wincing and wishing it was over because the sound was too distorted, it was very hard to hear the vocals. I was really enjoying myself with Shinedown, vocals and performance outstanding. When they were done, I found myself letdown because I wanted to hear more, but quickly forgot that feeling when Staind came out and rocked the house down! I was totally taken over by the vocals, the quality of the music and the light show was amazing but not overdone. I definately did not get enough of either Shinedown or Staind, especially impressed with Staind's performance. I would see both again in a heart beat and would welcome a chance to see Chevelle again with better sound quality.

Halestorm and Chevelle where great openers for the concert. Shinedown exceeded my expectations and should have played longer because they were by far much better than Staind. Staind was disappointing and we left before they were done playing.

Halestorm rocked saved their best song to last. Chevelle was great. Enjoyed them. Shinedown Rocked the house. They should have been the headliner. Staind had no stage presence. The instuments washed out the vocals. You could not hear most of the words being sung. If not for shinedown the concert would have not been worth it.

First Shinedown concert I've ever been too...and def. wont be the last. The band was very fan focused on making sure everyone had an awesome time from the front row to the nosebleeds. Hailstorm got the show rockin early. Chevelle played their famous hits and a couple new songs. The whole reason anyone should go see this show is for the Shinedown and Staind.

We weren't impressed with Halestorm, Chevelle or Staind. Halestorm and Chevelle were too muffled of a sound and couldn't really hear the music. Staind was a very boring band to watch. However, Shinedown really put on a good show.....we were really impressed by them. Thanks!!

Only familiar with 3 or 4 Chevelle songs. They were good but the bass was really loud. Shinedown was awesome. Staind was really good. I didn't realize how hard rock they are. I have only heard the slower tunes they play on the radio. It was so hot on the floor that I went outside before the end and missed it when the singer went on floor to the sound platform to sing. Overall it was an excellent concert. I hope there are more concerts that have multiple hot bands on tour together.

The Civic Center is ok but a little too much echo. Probably from not being filled with people. Halestorm was great, the most entertaining but didn't get enough play time. Chevelle was terrible and should be removed from the tour. You couldn't hear their vocals their their instrument play sounded like crap. Their obviously a studio band. I was very disappointed. Shinedown was awesome and should be the headlining act. (stating the obvious) They deserve at least another 1/2 hour of play time. Will definitely see them in the future. Staind is what I expected, a solid performance. Seeing them once in concert is plenty. They gave me no reason to buy more of their albums or a ticket to their next show.

While I never really new Halestorm much, they got the concert going. The drummer really loves the audience! Then came Chevelle who was fantastic. They really started to get the audience up and dancing. Shinedown was just as i suspected: phenomenal!!! His voice is just as good in person as it is on cd's. I've seen staind once before and they were just as great this time. they played alot of new stuff and unfortunately, I haven't heard much of it before.

Halestorm is an amazing opening band. They sang and played very well and was ingaging with the audience, which is unusual for an opening band. Chevelle was good, this is the second time I have seen them. They play well but you can not hear the singer very well, the music overpowers him on stage. Shinedown was amazing! They always put on a great show and this is no execption. They mix everyones favorites with a few new ones thrown in. The only thing with them is that should have been the headliner. They had everyone singing, eveyone out of their seats, and everyone was having a great time. They are so appreciatative of their fans and make every person there feel that love. Staind put on a good show. They sang wasy too many songs that no one knew and people started leaving or was sitting down. There were way too many new songs in a row and lost alot of peoples attention including mine and I am a big fan. Overall this is worth seeing and tell a friend to go with you!

Halestorm was 'ok'. Not a huge fan of theirs to begin with but did not do to bad. Chevelle kicked ass as usual. Played their classics and their sweet new stuff. Shinedown stole the show without a doubt. They know how to move the crowd and get the hype going. LOVED them. One of the best performances I have seen. I am a huge Staind fan but not a huge fan of their newer stuff as I have not really listened to it enough because did not grab my attention right off the bat. So was kind of disappointing at the beginning but tords the end, they kicked major ass. His acoustic performance was awesome! Over all badass show and will defiantly see them next time they come through Peoria.

I was very happy with Lo Pro. I did not expect much but their set was great. Halestorm was the best of the 4 bands. They will be HUGE very soon. First of all i really enjoyed the show and i want to thank Halestorm, Chevelle, Shinedown and Staind for coming down to Hidalgo, TX. I would also like to thank the Q 94.5 for playing their music and keeping us informed on when theirs gonna be concerts in the RGV. As for the concert itself I think that Halestorm really played their hearts out and were an amazing opening act. Even though I dont know much about them, I could feel her passion and love for her music and she definitely gave the fans their moneys worth. Chevelle was good but they could have played better, reason being is because I saw Chevelle play in Corpus Christie, Tx and they played way better than they did yesterday. I guess the singer wasnt feeling his songs or something was up with him that day. Shinedown took this show by the horns and gave one hell of a show, I will not forget their concert because they really got the fans going with songs. Staind had an awesome show, Arron's solo performance will be one to remember. I wasnt expecting for him to smoke a joint and through it into the audience, that was great. Overall their show was an amazing experience and I cant wait till the next rock bands come down, whoever it may be I will be their because I cant live with out rock n roll music.

Missed LoPro - Halestorm, Chevelle, and Shinedown rocked! Staind however was a different story. I don't mind their music but the bass player and lead singer leave something to be desired. There was nothing wrong with Staind, they sounded good too. But Stained didn't get the arena rocking like Shinedown did.

Even though this was stainds tour, shinedown stole the show. Chevellle rocked the house just like you would expect them to, and hailstorm isn't bad for an up and coming band, but when shinedown walked on to the stage, the house went nuts. Shinedown, Chevelle, hailstorm, and even the openning act that no one has ever heard of, Lowpro rocked the night and kept it comming. Staind was just a little bit to week for this crowed but hey, they brought the rest of the bands so you had to let them play.

My boyfriend and I had floor tickets and it was an awesome show! Halestorm started and she really rocked. Chevelle came out next, which they weren't my cup of tea but they were pretty good - I have to give them credit. Shinedown came out and absolutely tore the place up. The crowd was jumping, people were singing, holding up lighters - it was awesome! Then finally... the best for last - Staind! It was so exciting to see Staind finally come out. This was a good concert overall. The seats were good all around, location wise. I dont know if its possible to get a "bad" seat, compared to bigger places like Rupp and such. Halestorm was good, Chevelle was good, although I wished that I could have heard a little less music and little more voice. It was hard to make out his words at times. Shinedown was amazing. I believe they were the most charismatic with the crowd. I could have watched them all night. Staind was good too, but they didnt play alot of the songs I loved and I noticed the crowd wasnt as into it, but it's hard to follow an act like Shinedown. But when Aaron Lewis came out and sang in the middle of the floor, that was the highlight for Staind..and they had a good closing playing "Mudshovel" Great concert. Great night!

Once again another fantastic show by Staind. These guys are great, even 16 years later. They did all the usual stuff and Aaron Lewis also did an acoustic version of a new song for his upcoming solo....so wonderful. Love love love Mike Mushok, John April and Sal G too......they are all amazing on their own!!! The venue was also very nice...new for me at the Pool at Talking Stick. It was a SRO unless you were VIP and then you could have a cabana..pffffttt. The SRO was a small crowd, there were maybe 2000 people and I think that is a high count. The sound was excellent and the band did not disappoint in any way.

Every song was performed to perfection. It's one of those shows where half the time your eyes are closed, you're slowly swaying back and forth, and just taking in the sweet serenade. However, it was over before I knew it. For an $80 ticket (plus fees) I would've liked to hear more than 10 songs. They came on at 930 and the show was over at 1045. Was really disappointed at that, but all in all it was still worth the money. Quite a memorable show.

I purchased the VIP Meet & Greet package, and became one of three people selected via the VIP raffle to enjoy the concert from the stage. It should have been for the first 3 songs, but the road manager didn't scoop us up until 2/3rds of the way through, allowing myself and 2 strangers to basically mosh in a private pit on Mike's right flank. It was very hard to see Johnny on Bass while backstage, and the sound wasn't as intense as when I was seated, but overall an amazing experience. The meet and greet went well, and the merchandise received is very neat. I recommend bringing something to be signed for your one item to be signed by the band, as the drumheads provided are almost gaudy since they are so plain. I brought along a promo poster for 'Illusion of Progress' made back in the day. The band had black sharpies, but I had them sign with my silver one for enhanced contrast. During the show, Mike and Aaron threw picks to the front row and some secondary row people. Aaron mainly tossed them to the front row people. The songs played included alot of titles from their newest album, with classics such as 'right here' 'so far away' 'home', and a solo acoustic from Aaron titled 'fill me up'. Other classics were played and enjoyed by the crowd such as 'for you'. The show was supposed to let out at 10 PM, but ended at 9:35. It also started slightly late (~8:10). The setlist was excellent, I would have preferred more classics though. I fnot for the on stage experience, I would rate this concert and experience a mid range 4 star rating.

It didn't matter where you were it was an awesome view! As anyone knows its better to be up front and I was 10 feet away from the stage, if that. I do miss Selmas ampitheater that place was a much better venue.

Staind's performance was excellent, and it was a wild night. I'd never given their music a chance, and thought i'd attend this show to see what the fuss was all about. forget all the slow depressive music videos you've seen online and on TV. they rock! they're heavy as hell, and rock very hard, to the point of mosh pits breaking out! excellent song choices. a fun night

I saw the show 2x's, once in Detroit ($12 lawn) and in Toledo ($50, 10th row) and each time was a great experience. Halestorm opened and they are worth seeing, Lzzy wails and Josh the bassist, Arejay (the spunky drummer) and Joe (guitarist) are very nice and approachable. They bring it and the entire band met fans after the show in Detroit, they had an early curfew for the next tour site and I didn't get a chance to see them after in Toledo. The guy next to me in the crowd thought Chevelle was amazing, they aren't my cup of tea but there was a few songs I knew from the radio. They had their new CD for sale for $10. Shinedown had some crowd participation, and play the favorites. Staind's two song acoustic brought down the house, and they played some old skool hardcore music that you can really get into. Toledo's show was in the rain, it was the best rock show I've seen and the bands really appreciated the audience. I'd say make it to this concert! Only a few dates left, when Halestorm comes back around on tour they are def. worth seeing!!

So just went to the concert last night. It was awesome. An all out rock show. Was about 10 feet from stage. Halestorm kicked things off and got the crowd going. I had only heard a few songs before the show and thought they sounded decent. Man this show changed my mind. They kicked butt. They interacted with the crowd, rocked hard, and Lzzy's voice is incredible. Lets just say I got the album after the show. Chevelle, up next, was alright. They played a few new ones and then all their hits. . They were pretty good but definitely ranked lowest on my list for this concert. Shinedown. Where do I start. Unbelievable. Not only do they sound amazing they know how to put on a show. They interact with each other and with the crowd. While only playing maybe 10 songs their set did not feel short. The extras they throw in between songs makes up for the shorter set list. They played all their hits from the three albums with a focus more on the newer songs. By far the best on the bill. They were worth the cost of admission alone. Staind closed things out and sounded good. They hit hard playing quite a bit of their older heavy stuff along with the newer popular songs. While they didn't put on as good of a "show" as Shinedown they definitely rocked. Their guitarist is a beast and Aaron is just awesome. They had a presence up there that was just great even if they didn't interact with the crowd as much. Overall it was a great night. If you have a chance to get to this tour before its over do it! Worth the money especially since the shows have reduced ticket prices. Also the Amphitheatre at Station Square was perfect for this event. All standing room and you could get as close as you wanted to.

Lineup in order of best performances overall: Shinedown, Halestorm, Stain'd, Chevelle. Shinedown was so amazing, but excluding my bias as I've seen them five times now, ha, their overall stage presence and ability to get the crowd going without saying unlimited profanities was uplifting. Halestorm was amazing as always, Lizzy's vocals are even tighter now, which is ridiculous since her range is glass-shattering (in a good way!) Stain'd was kind of disappointing as my friends and I all agreed-the songs sounded the same and were kind of like they were performing to a karaoke machine rather than an audience-no interaction. Chevelle seemed nervous or just very nonchalant. They didn't speak at all except to announce the next song and barely moved, and the overall sound wasn't very good. Alot of times I didn't recognize their big hits until halfway through the song (and I actually am a fan of Chevelle.) While walking back to the car, two members of Shinedown were out back of their tour bus signing autographs and just hanging out with nothing but a caution tape, which was really cool. They're so laid back and just really awesome people-not to mention hilarious. This was probably the best concert I've ever been to, minus the venue, which didn't let me bring my camera in (even though they were allowed, I saw several others-I think he thought it was a video camera. Irritated), and had no signs posted as to where people could sit but rudely stopped me when I went to sit down. Oh well, it's their job. I just think putting a sign up would be easier than yelling at everyone who goes to sit. However, that aside, AWESOME.

The show was awesome! This was my first time seeing Shinedown and they were really great...I would definitely go see them again. Staind rocked the show...they were awesome! They started out strong and ended strong. I loved Aarons solo...his voice and lyrics are really just amazing! I would have loved to have heard more songs off their new disc The Illusion of Progress...but you can't play every song off every disc. Staind never disappoints and Shinedown was a great addition.

Great venue and great show. It was a little hot in there but it just made it better being up close and personal with the fans. I caught 2 drumsticks, 1 from Halestorm and 1 from Chevelle. This show will go down as one of the greatest shows I've been to.

I went thinking, ya staind is good and talented but i wasnt to sure about how they would be live. My girlfrind loves them and we like going to concerts so i was more than willing to go, and i dont know why but i wasnt expecting what happened that night. Well let me tell you iam a bigger staind fan now than ever. They put so much energy through air it was amazing, you would have thought it was their last peformance. Its the bands that sound better live than on the radio that i give the highest credit to and appreciate so much, and you could see thats just how they do it. Best part was they were so crowd friendly making us laugh more than a few times, and giving extra songs they didnt have to play, it was great!

Quick review - Chevelle was pretty good - nothing special. Staind - great musicians, sound was over-amped, and it was actually a kinda boring. Shinedown played to the entire audience, was energetic, and made the night. Overall a good experience, but Shinedown should have headlined the show.

This show was incredible! The energy was fantastic and the crowd was really going wild after the other groups got everyone wound up and ready for Staind. Aaron Lewis, guitarist Mike Mushok, drummer Jon Wysocki and bassist Johnny April all were at their best playing the hits everyone expected while mixing it up with a few newer songs to keep the crown on their toes. It was my first time seeing Staind live, and I am proud to say I wasn't dissappointed. Aaron's vocal abilities continue to amaze me. Definately one of the few vocalists who can hold his own against the album version - the songs sounded so good you could close you eyes and think you were listening to the studio version. My only complaint, if I had any, is that there isn't much movement on the stage. Aaron and Johnny should take a note from Mike and move around a little more.

You're either a fan of one of the best bands out there or you're not! Staind rocked last night and if you were there you saw brilliance! Staind performed songs not mostly heard in previous shows. The mix 'n matches extended from their debut album "Dysfunctional" to their current release from last year. It was one of the best shows I have seen Staind perform in 6 years. Aaron performed two solo songs in the middle of the crowd at the sound table.

This 4-band concert rocked the roof off of Merriweather Post Pavillion. Halestorm did a great job warming up the crowd for the acts that followed. Lzzy Hales strong vocals and nimble fingers left a strong impression and a desire to hear more from this local band. After a brief, stage-change intermisson, the Loeffler brothers and CHEVELLE stormed in and kicked ass in a set I wanted to go on ALL NIGHT! These boys put a great playlist together and sounded EXCELLENT! It seemed like the night's show-stealer was SHINEDOWN. Brent Smith strong vocals and genuine appreciation of the crowd and his fans carried over into the delivery of the band's music. Shinedown had the crowd on its feet, jumping up and down and screaming fore throughout their 45 minutes set. STAIND closed the show with a nearly 90 minute set that, naturally, focused on Aaron Lewis' vocals...from balladeer to screaming rock god...but ALL GREAT!!!

I only saw the last three bands, but Shinedown rocked my socks off as usual. They were superb as usual, and this is my fourth time seeing them. Staind rocked too, as this was also the forth time to see them live, and I have to say my favorite time. Chevelle did not disappoint either!

Halestorm was the first band to come out. I've never seen them before and they were really good. They were very energetic and had the crowd pumped up. Chevelle was the next band up. Chevelle wasn't good at all. They had no stage presence at all. They were just standing there hardly moving around and hardly interacting with the audience. Shindedown was on after Chevelle. They came out with great energy and stage presence. They had the audience from the moment they first got on stage. They played all their hits from all their cds. Their energy never once died out. Shinedown is really amazing to see live. Staind was the last band, the headliners. They took a little longer to come out then the rest of the other bands, but it was so worth it. They came out rocking the arena down. Their energy was so great. They had the audience from the moment they came out. At one point the lead singer Aaron Lewis went out into the audience to play by himself on top of a stage in the back of the floor. He played It's Been Awhile and Outside. The whole audience loved it and was singing a long. After those two songs were over, he went back on stage and they closed, rocked the house down with Mudshovel (my favorite song of their's). I highly recommend going to see this concert if it comes to a city near you.

Staind was fantastic! Actually better than anticipated. The production was first rate, lights, sound, etc. Wish we coulda had fireworks though. Of course being the fourth, we forgo seeing any to attend the event. It would have been nice if at the very least DTE would have set off a few for us. Shinedown was great! We have all their CD's and couldn't wait to see them. Brent needs to work on his vocals though. He pulled every trick in the book to get us to notice he can't hit the high notes live. Sad really, as they haven't been around that long. Maybe they shouldn't tour as much, or take longer breaks between shows. The rest of the band really covered for him though, and he's a great showman! Chevelle was ok. Sounds like they want to be Tool lol! Don't know if that is their intention or not, but I have no idea what any of the lyrics to the songs were. Mumbleville. Halestorm was wonderful! My daughter's were with me, and they kept talking about them long after they had gone off stage. I think they made a great first impression. Looking forward to more from them.

I had an awesome time! You couldnt ask for a better line up of bands together. I absolutely LOVE Shinedown and Staind and they deliver every time I see them. Non stop rockin hits the from the minute they leave the stage until they end. I had great seats this time as well I was right in the center of the pavillion about 14 rows from the stage that couldnt have been better besides being right up front under their noses lol. I would recommend anyone see these bands in concert anytime or this venue for any show its a great place to go and enjoy yourself

We went to see Shinedown, though Staind was going to be a bonus. Shinedown put on such a great show we left, because Staind couldn't have held up against them.
