In 1980 I flew to LA, saw Pink Floyd perform The Wall Live, slept in the airport and flew home. In 2016 I flew to LA, saw David Gilmour Live, slept in the airport, and flew home. The Voice was amazing. The Guitar was amazing. The production was amazing. I wish you could have been here.

On the second night of David Gilmour, we already felt like veterans. Great crowd and the venue sparkled as it did the previous night. David started the evening at 8 PM by playing 5 AM and continued through his set list with several changes from the night before. Crows flying out from the bowl, coins dropping from the top of the bowl and lava patterns adorned the rim of the bowl. All the other reviewers have mentioned how much of a master on the guitar and a great showman David is. They are right. The visuals were as good as the previous evening and the fireworks for Run Like Hell seemed to have lasted longer. At the end of the song, David said Run Like Hell, "WTF was that"????? as the crowd cheered on. Here is hoping they choose those nights for DVD. Today was a day where those not On An Island, were Coming Back to Life as they spent Money having the Time of their life thinking to their best friend, Wish You Were Here, dancing like a Girl in The Yellow Dress, but were filled with Sorrow as the band completed their set and held on to High Hopes David and band return soon.

Definitely one of the best concert I've seen, sound, light design, everything production wise it was perfect. The band members are among the best musicians you can find and David Gilmour at 70 still rock the house like no one else and confirm himself like one of the most influential guitar player in rock history. Last but not least the concert was almost three hours long, you really got a lot for your money.

David Gilmour played beautifully. Needed a little more variation in the song order. The Hollywood Bowl was good for sitting and listening to the music. There are lines for concessions caused me to miss a quarter of the show just to get one glass of wine and one water. The logistics for getting into the Hollywood Bowl suck on a level that is just not to be believed. Takes forever to get in and double forever to get out. There is no parking to speak of and we had to walk miles before we could even get an Uber driver to be able to get to us. Will never go there again! David Crosby was a guest vocalist who completely ruined Another Brick in the Wall.

This show was honestly a let down. Especially after having seen Roger Waters "The Wall" both times it was in the area. David is not in great health. His playing lacked fire or passion. His choice of David Crosby as a guest was odd. My Crosby's longtime collaborators have all ceased to work with him as he's not taking care of himself and it showed clearly in his performance.

I was lucky enough to be in the Pool section for the first of two nights. To be so close to the action was truly unforgettable. David was in fine form and the signature Black Strat was cooking up some serious solo action. The voice is still there as well much to my surprise. The light and Laser show designed just for the Hollywood Bowl was just out of this world. One of the best shows I have ever had the pleasure of being at live. It was more than a concert, it was an Event. It had that feel to it. I didn't think I'd ever get a chance to see Gilmour live since he is such a recluse these days when it comes to tours so I had to jump at the chance, TWICE in a row which offered me a 15 yard view as well as a view from halfway up the venue by the sound board, which allowed me to fully appreciate the lighting and special effects that I couldn't see up close. Money well spent and this will be a lifelong memory!

Once in a lifetime event from one of the greatest guitarist ever in a venue that was unforgettable. Sound was great and David has not lost anything when it comes to playing the guitar. Played most of the new album and several Pink Floyd classics and was joined onstage by David Crosby for a couple of songs including Comfortably Numb. With fireworks and lasers and an awesome light show it was a memorable night.

The show was pretty good. Gilmour missed a few notes, his guest guitarist butchered Wish You Were Here, and Crosby made the audience burst out into laughter at how terrible he was during Comfortably Numb. No exaggeration. There was audible laughter from the crowd as Crosby literally read the lyrics from the prompter and seemingly tried to make up the melody as he went along as though he'd never heard the song before in his unnaturally long life. All that aside, Gilmour rocked the house. Good mix of old and new stuff and Floyd covers blew the roof off the joint.

Once David's new album was released, I prepared myself for the eventual tour. Living in Washington State I held high hopes ;-) he would tour the Pacific Northwest. David's tour was announced but only in three US cities, one of which was Hollywood. I bought tickets anyway. Another show was announced for the same venue and I bought tickets for that show as well. A third show was announced and I sat back and thought, why not and bought ticket to the third and final show in So Cal. We had seen David perform live during the About Face Tour in '84, watched his Remember That Night and Live at Gdansk DVD's and knew he is better now than he was then. We had never been to the Hollywood Bowl before but found it magnificent. The moon was full that night and David played to the sold out show on both nights. The crowd was enthusiastic and loved it. I am glad we saw those two shows because the show at the Forum did not have the same visuals as the Bowl shows. BUT we were not disappointed. For a guy who just turned 70 he appears to still enjoy himself onstage and performing for the crowd. I like how he expresses his views through his music rather than blather about politics like some performers do. The three shows we saw were memorable. Here's is holding higher hopes he tours again. Thanks David and band for a great experience.

I don't think there are enough rating stars for Gilmour!! Been listening to Gilmour for over 40 years and my son has been listening since birth lol ...Coming back home for a few days to NYC for a birthday celebration for my 50th and my Son's 25th was just amazing. Gilmour's music, guitar & lyrics, truly speaks to the soul, gives ya chills and many times, brought us to tears! It truly was a once in a lifetime experience, my concert bucket list complete...At 70 years old, Gilmour is an amazing musician and I am so thankful to have experienced his music live. His new tunes were terrific, but his older songs & Pink Floyd tunes rocked the house with everyone singing along, just an amazing experience, never to be forgotten...Marc Brickman's lighting & technical aspects were terrific as always!

As expected, Mr. Gilmour did not disappoint! There is no doubt that he is one of the best guitarist of all time. Along with his vocals he has the ability to carry you along to soaring heights. Hopefully this is not the last he see of him. Even though my seat was up and on the right of the stage and you couldn't see the screen, the sound was amazing. The negative thing about the show was the 4 men sitting next to me that got up at least 12 times. All four would get up at the same time to go and get beer and then have to use the restroom. They would come back each holding 2 large plastic cups. If you want to drink that much, go to a bar , you don't care that much about the music!

Every song was amazing. Gilmour is the One and Only true guitar God left in the world. I saw Pink Floyd in Toronto for the Pulse Tour, unbelievable, and this show topped it, hands down. Rattle That Lock live was absolutely brilliant. Girl In The Yellow Dress, hauntingly good. Classic, classic, classic songs one after the other. David Gilmour's music is so far ahead of its time and will remain great and listened to for generations long after we are all gone. I've been to way too many concerts to remember, this was one of the greatest nights of my life. I truly hope for the good of all mankind David tours again next year and adds more cities and states to his schedule.

You would never know that Gilmour is 70+ years old. His voice is still as haunting and raspy as it was 45 years ago. His guitar playing is second to no one! From the moment he stepped out onto the stage, until the last note of Comfortably Numb, David and his band had complete control of the audience. He treated the crowd to a handful of songs from his new album, "Rattle That Lock", that seemed to more familiar to the crowd than one would expect, but they loved them nonetheless. A few tracks from the late 80's and early 90's Momentary Lapse of Reason and Division Bell had everyone bobbing their heads in unison, and the songs from the early years of Pink Floyd transformed the Gardien into a magical mist of fog machine smoke and reefer! I hope this isn't the last time we get to see this "Guitar God" on US soil. If it was... I'm glad I was there!

I've been fortunate enough to see David Gilmore 5 times now, 3 with Waters and Pink Floyd and 2 Solo. Like fine wine, Gilmour gets better with age and has perfected his craft unlike anyone before him. Set began at 8:15 and broke at 9:15 for a short break. 2nd set started promptly at 9:30 and he played until 11 PM. The Pink Floyd songs from DSOTM, WYWH and the WALL were the crowd favorites, but I especially liked some of the older obscure songs like Fat Old SUN and Astronome Domine. The encore of Comfortably Numb brought the house down as David tore it up during the solo. Everyone left spent.

I saw Pink Floyd in the summer of 1973 when Dark side of the moon was released and it was phenomenal! But Monday night David Gilmour put on the best show I've ever seen! I saw the Rodger Waters show a few years ago and the quality of his show doesn't come close! That's because no one plays guitar like David Gilmore! The whole show from the second he started playing was like a religious experience and the light show was awesome! If you want to see what a concert was like back in the 70s then go see David Gilmour!

David Gilmour put on an incredible show mixing tunes from Pink Floyd and his solo career. The setlist was dominated by songs from his recent solo album and included some lesser known, "pre-Dark Side" Pink Floyd songs. Even with his more laid back solo material, he managed to keep the energy level high throughout a roughly 2.5 hour set. I personally would have liked to hear some songs from his first two solo albums, but I suppose his goal is to promote the new album. Unlike many of his contemporaries from the 60s, his voice remains in great shape. His guitar playing was phenomenal, as expected. The stage was filled with very talented musicians and offered a great presence with the video screen switching between live close-ups and videos dating back to early Pink Floyd days. Gilmour clearly lived up to his status as one of the best musicians of the rock era. Rock on!

His playing and especially his voice and singing was the best ever...! His voice and style in jazzy "The Girl in Yellow Dress" was the testimony of his genius as a musician. Saw David Gilmour in Chicago at the Auditorium Theater. We tried for the United Center on Friday 4/8/16 but the bots had their way and couldn't get on line. Then another show on 4/4/16, the Monday before @ United Center. Same thing, bots ran wild and couldn't get thru. Sold out! I was waiting and hoping for the Wednesday show and YES! But it was at another venue. That turned out to be the best. Only two tix max and main floor could only pick up at will call with ID and the C.C. used to purchase. A hassle but since I wasn't a bot it was perfect! 9 rows back. Had seen him before many years ago at the arena's and needed binoculars. THIS WAS FANTASTIC!!!!! Sound was great and he was in top form. Figured this was the last time I would see him. What a night. I had my two children with. 22-24 year olds, and when we met up afterwards they could only say. "Now what do we do with our lives?" It was an experience! Every note perfection!

As a huge Pink Floyd fan, I've only had the opportunity to see the nameless other guy, but never David Gilmour. Last week I flew to Chicago and saw him in a small theater AND a hockey arena. He blew my freakin mind. I've seen all of his live performance DVDs and I'd say this performance was equal to or better than any of them. He played for 3 solid hours and played all of the Floyd hits (give or take 2 or 3). His guitar playing was spot-on and his vocals were flawless. After finally seeing him in person, I'm a firm beliver that he's the best alive at his craft. If you are considering seeing him, GO!!! He's like70 and may not be playing many more dates.

And flew from Houston, Hobby To Chicago, Midway to see the show. Thankfully everything went smooth and we got to enjoy a few things the city of Chicago has to offer. WOW!!!!! This was my 9th opportunity to see a "version" of Pink Floyd dating back to 1975 and this may have been the best. It's hard to understand how truly gifted these musicians are without seeing them live. Their technical ability to play these songs could not have been duplicated by anyone else. Vocals were fabulous as well. Almost 3 hours long with an amazing light show and effects that went perfect with the music.

This was my 3rd time seeing David Gilmour, but my first time with out the rest of Pink Floyd. I can honestly say I felt a much closer connection to him as an artist and the music. The volume of the venue could have been a little bit louder but I read that David likes it a certain way and that is it for clarity. The show was nothing short of amazing for my son's first experience with the band live and walked out saying this is the best concert he has ever seen.

The place was electric, the sound was crisp, and like the fan next to me said, David's playing was "silky"! Loved the mix of songs going all the way back to Astronomy Domine.

David Gilmour gaves his fans a chance to get to know him much better than ever before, by taking us through his songbook from several decades. Reflecting the influences from American folk music as well as jazz, in songs from Pink Floyd years up to the latest solo album, we got to see his true musical genius, beyond his contribution as lead guirarist in Pink Floyd. Of course, we all got to hear our favourites, so nobody had to leave disappointed, but if you take a step back and think about the choice of songs, it is obvious this was a review of his work over the last 50 years, summarized in 150 minutes. Was it a farewell concert? Maybe, but let us not go there yet, let us remember the wonderful music we got to experience instead!

I was on the edge of my seat the entire show. So many times I got chills. Just mind blowing guitar. It was not the show that pink floyd has done but every bit as mind blowing on the music side of things. I need to see David atleast one more time. Wow what a snow.

I'm an "old" Pink Floyd fan from years and years back and have seen the band more than I dare admit. Haven't traveled like I have with the Dead, but have trekked a few times and this trek from Salt Lake City was worth it's weight in gold. Starting off with 5 A.M. set the stage for an emotional roller coaster that went from Rattle That Lock, Faces of Stone straight into a time warp of Pink Floyd. The mood in the entire arena was excitement, mellow, anticipation of what the next song would be then the exhilaration of the tune, then hearing the entire Forum singing along. I will guarantee, this is not an isolated sensation. The Enclore...Oh, the Encore...Let's just say, close your eyes and go back to your happy time and place. Catch the show no matter where you are even if you have to buy scalped tickets...it will most definitely be worth whatever you pay.

Although not quite the historic venue the Hollywood Bowl is, the Forum is still a great place to see a show due to its great acoustics. The sound was fantastic (seats were right next to the sound board) and the crowd was into the show from the start. The only blemish on the night was when David forget some lyrics to Sorrow but other than that the show was a audio and visual masterpiece.

What a spectacular night with David Gilmour. I was mesmerized from the first note to the last and beyond. David Gilmour played two sets and an encore and was nothing short of phenomenal. From the 23 songs he played, 14 were Pink Floyd songs and the others were his solo material. All was great! As for the venue, the Hollywood Bowl is a terrible place to see a show unless you're in the orchestra pit and have a helicopter to get you out of there after the show. Never again. I wish I would've bought tickets to the Forum show instead. And maybe it was all the smoke in the air (if you know what I mean), but I can swear that I saw Joe Walsh coming out of the restroom as I was walking in. David Gilmour is a living legend and you better see him now that you have the chance because he is 70 years old and there is no telling if he will ever be coming back here to play again. Legend!

From start to finish, new material and classic Floyd, David Gilmour and company were outstanding. Hard to believe he is 70 this year. The band members were every bit as good as I have seen backing David in any performance of the past decade. The staging, lighting and sound quality were outstanding. Nearly a 3 hour show with no warm-up act we got more than our money's worth. Don't miss what might be a last tour in the US for this rock icon.

Night two at the Bowl. Tonight's surprise was the addition of What Do You Want From Me from the Division Bell album, played for the first time during the 2015/2016 Rattle That Lock tour. Up in the cheap seats I was able to see and enjoy the projections on the Bowl shell designed just for the Hollywood Bowl show and closing fireworks unlike the first night when our seats were too close to the stage (humblebrag). Another fantastic show and the band sounded even tighter than the first night.

I don't really know where to begin. The venue (Hollywood Bowl) has gotten the best sound of any that I have ever heard. The music: This was possibly the best concert that I have ever attended. David Gilmore was spot on with every note that was played. The backup band was fantastic. I never saw the original Pink Floyd, but have seen Roger Waters on several occasions, which were great in there own right, but David Gilmour and company was by far the best Floyd experience. The music selection, sound, light show, and venue made this show very special. If I ever get the chance to see Gilmour, I won't hesitate to go.

We traveled from Northern AZ to see this show and it was well worth the long drive to L.A.! The last time we saw David was at the 1994 Pink Floyd Division Bell tour at Sun Devil Stadium in Tempe, AZ. Needless to say I wore the concert shirt I got in '94 to the show. David put on a hell of a show that we will never forget! He performed a nice mix of his new music as well as Floyd classics. Awesome animations through out the show, wicked light show, amazing lasers and fireworks at the end. I really wished and hoped that he would have played some of his older solo stuff from his About Face album, I saw that tour back in 1984 too! I really wish he would do a proper world tour with multiple dates and cities so everyone can enjoy this show. It's a shame he's only doing a few dates and select cities because this is probably the very last time any of us will ever get to see him live.

Opening night for the North America Tour with special guest David Crosby (vocals on selected songs). Anticipation was high for this tour after a ten year hiatus from the On an Island Tour. Good mix of Solo and Pink Floyd Songs. Show felt more like a Floyd show than his other solo tours (2006 & 1984) with the addition of the round screen for visuals to go along with the smoke, lights and lasers. A must see for Floyd fans.

Wow! Probably the last time I'll ever get to see Mr. Gilmour...the show was spectacular! From beginning to the encore of "comfortably numb" this man is truly a "rock star". The 'black start' is like butter in the hands of this master guitarist. From the first note, you know it's David Gilmour playing. The Bowl is one of our SoCal treasures...the setting and sound. Yeah, parking is a hassle but this time we took one of the park & ride busses and it was a breeze. Well worth the $7.50 roundtrip. If you missed it, well, maybe they filmed it and you'll find it on DVD! :)

Great show, a classic multimedia light and sound spectacular of the kind that made Pink Floyd a concert legend. 50 years of musical history, new solo material blended seamlessly with the old Pink Floyd that we all know and love, and the Hollywood Bowl is one of world's great concert venues.

A majority of Floyd cuts with Rattle that Lock tunes rounding out a 22 song set. The crew created a special visual production on Money to leverage the Bowls architecture. It's a spiritual boost to experience the music and have thousands of people singing along with the words to Wish You Were Here, Shine On You Crazy Diamond, etc. Finally, the Brazilian sax player was at his peak belting out this special material. We went again two nights later to the Forum show - it was that good. David Gilmour turned 70 on March 6, 2016. Go see him, who knows when he will decide to take a well earned retirement from touring. This music is meant to be experienced as a live show.

Outstanding show, perfect night & 1st time at the bowl. Sound was dialed in well for that huge space. We attended second show & David Crosby did not make his guest appearance. The light show & stage is quite different than what Roger did on his tour, maybe one day those 2 will share the stage. David is a versatile artist but when he plays pedal steel it is in true form to Pink Floyd.

David was incredible! The band was great, I've waited a lifetime To see him and drove a long ways to see him, worth Every mile. I didn't really like Crosby to much, he's very stiff on stage and on comfortably Numb it seemed like he was reading from a que card. All in all, a show of a lifetime!! I strongly recommend going to the show! Cheers

All the people begging for a reunion need to give it a rest. I have had 30 plus years of Roger Waters, David Gilmour and Pink Floyd Concerts. Twice the music and twice the tours,. Quit beating a dead horse. Roger has been out of Pink Floyd way longer then he was ever in it. Really looking forward to the David Gilmour 2016 tour. Sure to be a great one for real, hard core fans. For the casual fan ( The one that thing they only released 3 albums) please stay at home. You will not recognized 80% of what he plays anyways. Leave this one for the real fans. For all the Iphone toting idiots. Leave the phones and toys at home. Try to live in the moment for once. Concerts used to be fun now all the non-stop iPhone nonsense is just embarrassing. If you want to see just the hits, go see a cover band. If you want to see the obscure songs you never hear on the radio go see David. If you thing he spells his name "Gilmore" just stay at home.
