The venue was great, nice intimate setting. And John Waite's voice was just as crisp and clear sounding as when I first saw him in 1982. He may look much older, but Waite sounded Great!

John Waite's performance in Anaheim proved to me that the former lead singer can still deliver the hits & may be one of rock's most underrated singers from the 70's & 80's ....... Head First & Midnight Rendezvous rocked ....

As a longtime John Waite/Babys fan, I was really looking forward to this show and it was even better than I had expected! John's vocals were spot-on and his backing musicians, especially the guitarist, were amazing. The best part of the show, aside from the fact that I was right against the stage (within sweat-dripping distance!) was the set list. My two favorites, "Everytime I Think Of You" and "Isn't It Time", both pulled out of the old Babys catalog, were included, as were all of John's classic solo hits. I had a fantastic time rockin' out to all of the songs I remember from back in the day...

John Waite gave an outstanding, energetic performance at the Hayloft. It was electrifying--he sang song after song with barely a break. He sang all of his great hits from now and the past with a clear, true voice that took me back in time.; I felt like a lovesick teenager again :) His repertoire of hits is timeless and classic because he reveals the mysteries of the human heart and the essential lifeforce that man searches for endlessly-deep, passionate love. Waite is a modern day Wordsworth--his poignant writing and haunting singing awaken long forgotten memories. And it doesn't hurt that John is still hot and sexy as ever--a show can't get any better--awesome tunes + a sexy man = customer satisfaction/Heaven :)

This was an evening of outstanding music. The two opening acts were exciting and interacted well with the audience. John and his group played every song anyone would have wanted to hear. John looked tired but his show was amazing as usual. I would highly recommend seeing Mr. Waite any chance you get. It is well worth any price.

Rocking into his fifth decade (sorry John...) John Waite's subtle almost entirely acoustic set (electric bass guitars don't count) was subtle, suave and sincere. He has lost none of the presence in his velvety smooth voice. I have always admired John Waite, I now can never forget him. Thank you for the best acoustic show I have ever seen.

Starting off with technical difficulties doesn't bode well for this show. But after it was fixed and John gave the sound man the appropriate salute, he went through his set list with a fury. John has an amazing voice. Later in the show he played Midnight Rendezvous, the opening song messed up by sound issue. Fans were please with inclusion of songs from The Babys. Overall a very good concert. I would definitely recommend John Waite to rock fans.

Great venue for this, the sound check team messed up the first song. However from that point on it was great. The drum solo was incredible and if there wasn't so many crazy old men screaming while he sang, it would of been awesome!

The show was really good. John looked and sounded great. After all these years the guy has still got it! ;). He had great interaction with the audience. His voice sounded incredible. He did a sing-along with the audience for "When I See You Smile". They loved it! He performed some of his new hits as well as some classics from his Baby's, Bad English and 80's solo days. He closed with a cover of Led Zeppelin's "Whole Lotta Love". I was blown away. He brought down the house! I am so glad I went. He has always been my favorite singer/musician so it was a night to remember! ♥

I saw John Waite a little over 3 months ago. John was amazing. I loved his music in the 70's and 80's. I bought his Rough & Tumble CD after the concert and have not stopped listening to it since. I can't believe his CD has been out for 2 yrs and I have just started listening to it. I must say ... I'm hooked all over again. His songs "Evil", "Skyward", "Better Off Gone" and "If You Ever Get Lonely" are some of my favorites. Now I'm waiting for his next concert so I can sing along to his new stuff. Can't wait to see him again.

I really like John but the set list had only 5 songs I knew. Two at the beginning, then a whole bunch of filler 1 of which was Bob Dylan song? I figure the reason there wasn t more Babys music was because he didn t hire a female back up singer, a voice prominent in Babys songs. I split the price of a reserved table so @ $75.00 plus ticket price I felt short changed. I will say even though I didn t like the set list. John voice sounded great.

John Waite sounds just like he did in the 70's and 80's!! His voice is timeless and puts on a great show. He sang songs from The Baby's and Bad English years along with his solo songs and a couple of covers that were AMAZING! What a great venue to see him perform. Not a bad seat in the house!

Saw John Waite at the Northern Lights Theater, and he did not disappoint. Sang his hits from the Babys, Bad English and his own stuff, and with his 3 man band he rocked it. Super fun and entertaining show, great music. He did an encore with a cover of Zepplin - he should consider doing a whole Zepplin cover album!!!

Great talent and still has the pipes. The band was top notch, although keyboards and female backing vocals would have enhanced the songs that heavily relied on these voices. The balcony sound was so so, the venues house sound system was lacking in bass and mid range vocal depth. John was high energy, and still hits all the notes with power and passion, basically he still has the fire and rocks!!

After all these years John Waite still rocked the roof off The Rose. I loved every minute of this concert, with the exception of the super long drum solo. I love drum solo's, but I would have preferred to listen to more songs than an extremely long drum solo, although the drummer was awesomely talented. I loved how they covered songs from The Baby's and Bad English in his set. I seen John over 20 years ago at the Hollywood Palladium, he was just as fabulous as the first time around. Thank you John Waite for a wonderful evening, I can't wait to see you again :)

The Canyon is a fun and interesting environment in which to see a performance, especially considering ticket prices are very reasonable. To me, John Waite is a huge star, and the opportunity to see him perform in such an intimate setting was amazing. His vocals are still great, and he still sings each hit in its original key, which is not common for 65-year-old singers. He is a legendary performer and his show is more than worth the ticket for admission.

I've loved the music of John Waite (and The Babies) since my early teens. My brother and friends even did sound for The Babies when the came to Youngstown, Ohio in 1981. They played the night John Lennon was shot in New York. I will never forget where I was that night. When the news got to the band (an hour into the show) they performed Drive My Car by Lennon McCartney and quietly walked off stage. Waite is a grand master of vocal and stage showmanship! He has kept what has escaped most other singers of his generation: His one of a kind voice that if you hear it on the radio or your iTunes you know right away who is behind it! I hope that he makes it back to NE Ohio soon! Dont be stupid! If he comes to your town - GO SEE & HEAR HIM! John F. Kiktavy

The Gordie Brown Showroom at the Golden Nugget is a really good venue to see any show, excellent chairs, very small venue, great looking. The sound system could be improved, but it is good enough. On Fremont street where there is a lot going on besides the concert you would attend. John Waite of the "Baby's" still has a very good voice and knows how to use it. The rest of the band is good. They played a lot of their hits from the days of the "Baby's", songs anyone of that era would recognize. Good value for the money.

First things first...the dude looks no where near his age! He is doing something right. But if you know artists who've been at it a while the question is always 'do they still have it?' John Waite still has it! This acoutisric set...a kind of side venture in between larger band concerts...is perfect in an intimate setting. He answers questions in between songs. Don't expect to hear The Baby's songs at this one. He does tunes from Bad English and his solo career. But his voice is still really fantastic. His guitarist and bassist were great.

I've seen John Waite many times. He still sounds great, but he only played for 1 hr which was very disappointing. He left out many hits. I think he did not like the venue & tried to get out of there quickly. I hated venue too. Small & intimate but annoying. People brought very young kids & let them run around on front of stage kicking up dirt. Don't bother spending extra for premium ticket because general admission is allowed to come down & dance in front of you blocking your view, & most of them were so drunk they nearly fall in your lap. Premium seats are 1st come & wooden benches so bring a pad. Will always buy tix to see John Waite when he comes to town, but never again at this venue.

This was my fourth JW show in the past 6 years and possibly the best yet. His voice is solid and projects emotion whether it's a Baby's or Bad English or solomaterial. I met him once and he remains thankfulfor his continued success and loves his fans. This showrreally blew by as there was never a time I looked at my watch and the brsr3 Baby' s tunes to kick off the show set the pace and never let up. I would love to hear him play an entire album live like a few bands have done but I don't know when he would find the time. I am proud to be a life long fan and am eager to see him and Tim the best bassist ever-- in central or north eastern Pennsylvania next time around. I am also looking forward to new material. Best wishes, pat

One of the reviewers below gave a lot of detail about the concert. And it's true that his guitarist rocks, and it's true he did a acapella version of When I See You Smile . And it certainly was one of the high points. Another high point was Whole Lotta Love by Led Zeppelin as the encore. It's very fitting because that guitarist is a very good guitarist and can do Jimmy Page justice. But I do want to point out that he played a number of new songs. I struggle with artists playing their new albums at the mercy of the audience. We listened to him. 30 to 40 years ago. I probably have a small chance of listening to his new music today. And I think that's the reason why he didn't play a second encore-- we just could not get excited enough for him (it seemed). They even set up the stage with the additional guitar. And pulled it back. He was probably going to play Isn't it Time . How disappointing. I'm not saying he didn't play a handful of songs. He did. But the concert was about one hour and 20 min. long. As he was singing "Missing You" it was not on the same beat of the music and was about a half second slow for every word. That was frustrating too. And he was so excited that we were excited about that song. I just don't know why he wouldn't play more of the music that we know him by. And the concert was free-- but I don't know that I would go see him again for free. That's quite a statement but not everyone felt as I did. Many liked it.

I have only seen John Waite in concert once, and although I have admired his music since the 70's and 80's (think Bad English and Babys, in addition to his solo work), I had never really seen him play until last Fall. When the opportunity came to see him at the Canyon Club I jumped at the chance. John's show was EVERYTHING and MORE that I hoped it would be. The rocking guitars of Shaun Hague on All Along the Watchtower was just the beginning to an Amazing and Wonderful night! Rondo's drum solo was beyond compare, along with the rockin thumpin bass of Tim Hogan, Debby Holiday's backing vocals on Everytime I Think of You (as well as all the other songs) were Awesome, and peppered throughout the night were songs ranging from ballads to the heaviest rock. The absolute HIGH Point of the night was John's ACAPELLA (yes acapella, meaning NO MUSICAL ACCOMPANIMENT at ALL) version of When I See You Smile. WOW!!!! John's vocals were Stellar, on point and beyond Amazing! He proved in that second what a REAL singer/musician lives, which is MUSIC ITSELF!! 90% of the 'musicians' today could NEVER even ATTEMPT singing without auto-tune, much less acapella in a concert setting. John Waite is the REAL DEAL!!! Music at it's finest! If you have the chance to catch him live, do yourself a favor and DO IT!! You will be glad you did!

I've seen John Waite several times through the years. He's been great every time, and this was no exception. At over 60, his voice sounds as good as ever. Lots of great rockers with a few candles on the cake have lost their highs, or their rock "screams", Not John, as was demonstrated near the end of the evening when he did an awesome version of Led Zeppelin's "Whole Lotta Love." Robert Plant can't do that song justice any more, but Waite's version was as screamin' as Plant in his prime. If you are thinking about seeing him, do it. It'll be worth it! I rated it four stars instead of five only because five is termed "amazing" by Tickemaster, and though the show was excellent, it was not quite "amazing."

I enjoy most genres of music...what made this an enjoyable evening was the size of the venue, the proximity to musicians and comfortable seating. I enjoyed the set more as the evening progressed. Most of us that were there were John Waite diehards... so to judge the vocals would be sacrilegious. I hoped for more of a personal connection with the audience... it would have been nice to have been brought up to speed with the life and future of John... but he is somewhat reserved. He is a solid songwrier... to hear what inspired his writings would have been cool. The fans of this age group are "family"... therefore, tell the story... and come out and play the last lick when everyone is on their feet beckoning for the return... nice way to homor the diehards...

This review is waaaay over due. Saw Johnny a few months ago, here in Dallas. His singing and the band were Great! But... His performance Sucked! He made absolutely Zero attempt to communicate with the audience at all. He was twitchie and seemed like he was just trying to plow through his set list and get the hell off the stage. I saw Roger Daltry a few nights before...and he would take breaks and talk to the audience...just like an old friend...well....ya...like for 40 years! Normally JW has a meet a greet afterwards at a merch table...Nope...his band mingled for a while...but Mr. Waite was a No Show. Maybe Johnny was just having a bad night...or is just too cool But, not as cool as Roger Daltry

John and the other guitarists were incredible! John may be older but his voice sounded just as good as his early years with the Baby's!!

John Waite's voice sounded as good as ever. His performance at the Glass Cactus was great. The setlist spanned his career in the music industry including songs from the Babys and his latest solo effort. The show was well worth the price of admission.
