Mayday Parade

Mayday Parade

With 2013’s Monster in the Closet, pop punkers Mayday Parade scored their first Top 10 album on the Billboard 200 and earned praise for what critics called their most emotionally accessible release to date. Drawing comparisons to Queen for its intricate vocal harmonies and guitar work, Monsters deals with life’s big diary-worthy questions on anthemic singles “Ghosts” and “Girls,” while exploring new territory on the country-influenced “Angels” and piano ballad “Even Robots Need Blankets.” Hailing from Tallahassee, Florida, the band recorded their 2007 debut before they’d even selected a band name. After settling on Mayday Parade, they went on to release Anywhere But Here in 2009 and a self-titled third album in 2011.

This was a great show! They all were amazing. The mosh pits and crowed surfers were kind of harsh though, which I really didnt expect for these bands. But it was worth it. After the show was amazing. I got to meet William Beckett. Overall great show.

This was a really good show with such a solid line up. Even though Set Your Goals couldn't make it, You Me at Six did a very nice job of opening, followed by Quietdrive, an unexpected but not altogether unwelcome change. I haven't listened to a lot off the new Quietdrive album, so i didn't appreciate it as much as I'm sure I could have, but they still played well and I enjoyed it. The Academy Is. Always do a pretty good job, and they did not in any way disappoint. The new stuff sounds good, and the older songs they played I really like as well. Mayday Parade was amazing. They played all the songs I wanted, and they introduced me to their new songs, which are fantastic. I purchased the CD that night and have been listening to it non stop since. This is another phenomenal Mayday Parade album, and they played a really good show. I can't wait for them to come back.

The venue isnt the nicest in the world. but im not there for the place im there for the music. i love the ap tour this is my second time. its just so much fun. I love that they always have a band signing. And I got to meet one of my all time music heroes at the signing. And my other favorite thing is that the bands hang out by their merch booth so you can meet them and get a picture. Ive met the Secret handshake and A Rocket to the moon at the ap tours ive been to. And also an awsome thing was that alot of the local bands came to the show. Take Cover, Sing It Loud, and Quietdrive, which was awsome. I cant wait till the next AP tour in spring.

I really liked the British boys You Me At Six and then The Secret Handshake....they are both are very interactive with the audience and that's what I like when going to a show. I have seen them both live before and they were even more amazing the second time I saw them. They both remade popular songs and the people that didn't know them as a band knew at least one song and not totally out of the loop. I liked Quietdrive, but why wouldn't I they are a hometown band. The Acedemy is and Maday Parade were ok live but I only knew a few songs from each band. Other than that the show was amazing I would totally recommend this concert to all of my friends! :]

This concert was seriously one of the best I've been to in a long while. Even though one of the bands couldn't make it, the tour had Quietdrive fill the spot, and they did great! A mix of 5 bands couldn't get any better than these 5. All the bands were super cool as well and stayed after to hang with all the fans!

Despite waiting in the rain to get inside, and the building itself being seemingly a million degrees and incredibly humid, the show was still great. Playing all the fan favorites from their catalogue as well as a new song off of their soon to be released new album Mayday Parade kept the crowd going in the small venue.

I am new to this group and i did not think this show would be as awesome as it was!!!!!! It was absolutley amazing! It was in a very small venue, which i am surprised about, and it was probably 100 degrees in there, but these guys completely rocked! Miserable at Best was a great song and the end was sooooo different than the original, that they need to do it that way every time! They had the whole band come out and rock the last part of the song! Great idea! And then they came back for an encore and did I'd Hate To Be You.... and they just totaly took the crowd home from there. Unbelievable show! Would def go see them again and i hope to see them mainstream some day at a bigger venue with more songs!

Mayday Parade had the whole venue jumping around and being crazy! Loved every minute of it. The opening bands were local bands from Rochester, NY and they were pretty good too. Cons: The show started late but that's expected most of the time. Rained really hard before we got into the venue and it was SO hot. I don't think the venue had AC at all. Pros: They didn't take long to do sound checks either which is appreciated. I was extremely close to the stage so I got a great experience from the whole thing, plus amazing pics and videos. When it was over, I went around the back and all of Mayday came out and signed/took pics for the few people there. They were all so nice and happy to do it. The opening bands came out too to take pics and sign. Overall, amazing concert. Mayday Parade is a great headliner show.

I've seen Mayday Parade live before, but they normally stick to their newer material. It was great getting to hear their first EP in its' entirety. But, when doing the older material, you definitely miss the singing duo that they used to have. Unfortunately, this won't change, so that means that their older material suffers live because of it. If you love Mayday Parade (especially the new stuff), then you're going to love seeing them live. I go way more in depth on my show Ian Hates Music. You can find it on all the regular podcast listening apps by searching 'Ian Hates'!

The Maine and Mayday are both my favorite bands. So when I found out not only one of them were coming to a venue near me, but both were, I was beyond excited! This was my 4th time seeing both bands, but the 2nd time near my hometown. Usually I have to drive 6+ hours to see them, that right there is proof on how amazing both are live! But this time around they were at a venue 2 hours away and that made it even more worth it! My two friends that tagged along for Mayday became huge Maine fans, not even knowing any songs! John (the lead singer of the Maine) will make you laugh and dance all at once. And Derek's energy in unmatched! I also took my little cousin to this show who is twelve and she had an absolute blast. John was outside the venue a little after the show. He stayed out there and signed, took selfies, and talked to each person. He made each and every person feel important and not rushed. That's hard to come by in the industry, not unheard of, but still hard.

Both Mayday Parade and The Maine allowed the bands and music to overtake the lead singers. Since I've attended many shows at the Paramount before, I knew it wasn't due to their sound system. So, I focused all of my attention to the singing and found the voices and lyrics lacking. This leads me to believe that the overpowering guitars and drums were needed to compensate for their singer's weakness. Consequently, it is no surprise to me that their audience needed to resort to overconsumption of alcohol and body surfing to enjoy the show. Anyone who remained sober would find it difficult to have a good time.

I had the pleasure of seeing Mayday Parade play at what may very well be my last show at The Masquerade in Atlanta, GA on November 24th, 2015. I purchased my ticket in August and then proceeded to count the days until I would make the 1 1/2 hour drive North for the show. When that day finally arrived, I was wild with excitement because it had been over 9 years since I last saw Mayday Parade live. I was 16 and they played at a small venue in my hometown of Columbus, GA. Their music touched me that day and has continued to do so for 9 plus years. The show was everything I had hoped it would be and more. Thank you Mayday Parade.

We came prepared to hand over 20 bucks each for Pass The Line and to stand in line all day. Instead, HOB staff handed out numbered tickets to save our spots in line and we got to hang out in Disney Springs and have fun. An hour before doors we took our places in line and walked into the venue only 30 minutes after 'doors'. Great line management, HOB! I hope they keep doing it this way.

The Show started off with As It Is. I was surprised by how many people knew the words, but they always put on a high energy performance so they pumped up the crowd from the start. Next up was This Wild Life. I'm always never sure what to expect from the crowd when they come on the stage since they're an acoustic band, but they crowd loved them! Real Friends was the direct support and it's no surprise that the crowd was just as excited for them as they were for the headliners They played a decently long set and the crowd was loving it. At one point, there were three pits open for Real Friends, which I wasn't expecting, but it was awesome to watch! On to Mayday Parade, the headliners. I've seen them a handful of times now and they never disappoint me. They just released their fifth album, Black Lines, and I was worried that they were going to flood their set list with songs off of it, but they didn't! Not that those songs are bad, but I've been a fan for so long that I always want to make sure I hear some of their older songs. To my surprise, their set list was filled with throw backs and it was honestly really emotional. Mayday Parade started off their set strong with One Of Them Will Destroy the Other and I don't think the crowd could've been more excited about it. It was high energy and there was a lot of crowd surfing. From there they flowed right into Jamie All Over, one of my all time favorite Mayday Parade songs. After that they slowed it down for a bit and then picked it back up. This is how the night would flow from there on out. Fan favorite song of the night seemed to be Miserable At Best, which I anticipated. For the encore, they finished the night with Just Say You're Not Into It, which is the first time they've played that song in years. And for the finale was Jersey. The crowd went crazy and I couldn't have been happier with how the night went. If you're debating going to this show, do it. Especially if you've been a Mayday Parade fan since the beginning. Nostalgia hit me hard and I'm so happy to be able to say I've been with Mayday Parade for most of their 10 year career and I can't wait for many more years to come!

While the acts before mayday were very much sub par to the event. I believe that Cartel and the maine were booked for far to long. Definitely go to this show! Stages and stereos played first, they were alright. Then cartel played and they were really good, I've never even heard of them before this show. Then Man Overboard brought everyone to life. They were exceptional, I wish they had a longer set. Mayday Parade closed and they were awesome too. I high fived Derek Sanders!! The crowd was great too: crowd surfacing, moshing, and singing. If you don't like moshing that's fine because there was only like 2 pits, so no need to worry about that. But seriously, GO to this show..Man O and Mayday are both amazing!!

This concert was unforgettable. I have seen both The Maine and Mayday Parade multiple times and have met them, but this was a different concert. The Postelles were a nice opener, different but still good nontheless. The Maine provided a good mix of new and old songs and were also very entertaining in between songs. I loved every second of their set. Finally, Mayday Parade came on. I have seen them so many times, but this concert was by far the best I have ever seen them. Singing along to every song, crying hysterically when they played "Everything's an Illusion" and "One Man Drinking Games". And when Derek acknowledged the fact that they all noticed when there were some people (including me) that knew every word to every song and sang along. It was overall an amazing concert, and I'll never forget it.

This was an AMAZING concert experience. There was so much energy in the room, with each of the bands bringing their own unique style. While I missed the local opening band, I did see Anarbor, a great choice to get the crowd energized and ready to go! I have seen The Downtown Fiction 3 times and they are always a crowd pleaser, especially ending the set with "I Just Wanna Run." We The Kings came next and is my personal favorite band. They had a bit of a setback with an ill band member and a drummer with a broken wrist but performed an entirely acoustic set - a nice breather during the rock and roll sounds. They still brought their a-game and were great, as usual. Mayday Parade brought ALL of the energy they had, bouncing around the stage and performing hits such as "Jersey," "Oh Well, Oh Well," "Jamie All Over," and "Miserable At Best" with Derek singing alone at the piano. I also really appreciated all of the band members coming out to sign in the snowy weather after - they are wonderful musicians and wonderful people!

First off, I have to say I liked the renovations made to the Paradise Rock Club. It opened it up, without changing the ambience of the club which is great since it holds so much historic value. This was a great line up of bands, and definitely felt like I got my moneys worth. The show started with Artist vs. Poet a cool up and coming band that covered Lady GaGa's "Bad Romance". Then Go Radio took the stage fronted by ex -Mayday Parade vocalist. Stellar energy, rocking band. Then Every Avenue rocked the stage followed by my favorite of the night Breathe Carolina. Breathe Carolina has the raw force Linkin Park used to have. These guys are going to hit it big one day. Mayday Parade were also high energy and very engaged with the crowd. It was a great night for rock n roll. All the bands also stuck around and signed autographs for their fans.

I saw the We The Kings's Take Action Tour with Mayday Parade, A Rocket To The Moon, There For Tommorow, and Call The Cops and it was fantastic. All the bands have amazing songs and fantastic energy. Mayday Parade was exceptional. Their energy and love for the music is inspirational. Derek Sanders is a great singer and the whole band is fun to watch. All I wanted to do once the show was done was go again so I would recommend their shows to anyone.

This was def 1 of my FAVE shows from beginning to end! City Lights, The Dangerous Summer, There For Tomorrow, and Mayday Parade were all soooooo awesome!! All the vocals were amazing and Derek from Mayday Parade sang a few acoustics!! I even got his autograph and spoke with him a little after the show! I can't say enough about Mayday Parade's entire performance they def get the crowd into it and give you something to remember!

Mayday Parade was by far one of the best bands I have ever seen live. It was like my body was set on fire, these are songs I have been singing for half of my life. I was in tears! Without a doubt, if you get the chance go see them! Wait outside for hours and get barrier. It's worth it.

Mayday Parade was amazing as always, but the venue was awful. It was so hot that I started to get overheated and I had to leave early. This was an indoor concert and I've never been as hot as I was inside here. The outside south Florida air was cooler than inside the venue.

I went to the Glamour Kills Tour for both Stages & Stereos as well as Mauday Parade. I gotta say, although both Cartel and Man Overboard had awesome performances, it was all about Stages & Stereos and Mayday Parade! Mayday Parade being the headliners you know you're going to get a great show, but Stages & Stereos being the openers to the tour really stole the show! Listen up people... Stages & Stereos ARE the next Mayday Parade!!! If you like MP, then you'll love Stages & Stereos! It's a no-brainer! Go out and show support. Stages & Stereos just released a new EP titled "Small Town Favorites" which any Mayday Parade fan would love! Remember, the singer of Stages &Steteos is also the singer of the last chorus to Mayday Parades hit song "Jamie All Over".

Everytime I'm at the Electric Factory I get that surreal rush being that close to an artist. Loved it! Overpriced food, but who can blame you. Got pretty close! Def would come again

Everything was amazing. The room was air conditioned, the stage was close, I had a good spot, the lights were perfect and of course the bands were FANTASTIC. It was the best concert I've ever been to, hands down, no doubt, I had so much fun, everyone looked out for one another, the bands really connected with the crowd. It was beautiful.

Ive been to a concert at the Electric Factory before, however it was at their outside stage and the quality of the sound was better outside than there was at the inside stage which was where the Glamour Kills Tour was at. There was just so much bass in your ears, that there was still a ringing in my ears 24 hours later and my videos have a cruddy quality too. The crowd was awesome though.

My 3 Kids absolutely loved this concert. My daughter posted pics and all the groups posted that they liked the pics which made her whole weekend. Both my girls related to the one group and one song.

I was interested in seeing Cartel. I was lucky enough to see them play their hit songs live, and I got to see 3 others bands. Mayday was amazing as were the sets of Stages & Stereos and Man overboard! The venue was also easy to find and quite organized. I would definitely do it all over again! And, I highly recommend this show to others who are also fans of pop punk from the mid-2000 era.
