Purdue Christmas Show

My first time to attend. A great show, especially considering that Purdue does not have a School of Music. I'll be back.

Attending the PMO Christmas show is the best way to begin the holiday season. It is hard to believe that Purdue does not offer Music as a major given all of the talent they have.

My only issue is that performance was finished too quickly. It left you wanting more!!!

This was one of the best Christmas shows I've ever seen. Not only were the players and the orchestra top notch, the production as a whole was Broadway quality! My daughter will be graduating in the spring, but I will starting a new tradition and will be back to see this production. Absolutely Amazing!

Purdue University Christmas show was wonderful! Fun and the last half included Christmas hymns and other music. The lighting was spectacular. It has been quite a long time since we had been but we took our Purdue students/children with us and it was so nice to share this event with them in preparation for the birthday of Jesus. Nice to be able to go to a University that is not afraid to celebrate the birth of Christ. Thank you!

The Christmas show was amazing!! It was the first time I had seen this and loved the professional way everything was done!

The singing and bells, etc. were beautiful. I was expecting more of a fun lite program like they had years ago. It used to be somewhat like a christmas play with children, etc.

Excellent performance by Purdue Students. Mostly a revue of Holiday tunes.

Enjoyable show. The cast was talented and the show was well run and on time. There were at least two parking decks within reasonable walking distance to the show location.

It was an amazing show with rich history. I would highly recommend this show to anyone. So many gifted students in the choirs. I especially like the fact that they have kept the name Christmas Show in the title, as so many others use the words Holiday Show. I also like the fact they keep traditional Christmas music as part of the show. Jesus is the reason for the season.

As usual, the Purdue Christmas Show was spectacular. We have gone several years in a row and look forward to kicking the holiday season off with this event each year. It is a great tradition that I hope to continue for many years to come. There is always a great mix of music and variety in the show. The carol sing at intermission is always fun, and we loved the addition of Hail Purdue this year. It was sung because of the 100 year anniversary, but I think it should be kept for years to come! Amazing show and thanks to all of the students and staff for all of the hours of rehearsals and hard work!

The Purdue Music Organization is always professional and the shows are very enjoyable, but this year's show was one of their better ones. We thoroughly enjoyed it and will come back next year

Show was great as usual but it would add to the experience if there was no clapping during the cantata part of the program. Less music during the cantata part that is let's say "rockin and rollin". Overall experience is great and this is our 16th year of coming to see the show. Thank you for all your hard work it shows!!!!

Excellent production and incredible sound in Elliot Hall. One wish, more of the Choir featured without orchestra.

Program was nice. Sacred program lacked musical dynamics. They were either loud or very soft with little in between. However, the soloists were outstanding! The seats in the venue are a nightmare for anyone over 5'8" tall. Everyone in my family is over 6 ft tall and we were just misreable. If you add a bit of girth to that, the misery doubles as the seats pinch not only your knees but your hips.

The Purdue Christmas Show is a must-see for everyone! Amazing musical talent... Will definitely want to try to get tickets again next year. Even though it was 2 hrs. long, it kept the attention of my 8 year old daughter the entire time!

This was my first Christmas at the Purdue Campus. An amazing bunch of talented young people. And I liked the break, to stand up and meet my neighbors and sing along

What a wonderul way to enter the holiday season! Thank you to the Purdue students for all their hard work for us to enjoy the show. Can't wait for next year!!

I took my son, daughter-in-law and two grandchildren to the PMO Christmas Show. Afterward, we talked about what each of us liked best about the program. Everyone had a different favorite part, but we all agreed it was a fabulous experience!

I am always amzaed at what can be done. Such a talented group and no school of music. They do this because they love it Been going to this for 41 years! Love it

Fantastic show! We've tried to make this a family tradition to attend the PMO show each year. This year was the best we've seen. Choral songs from the second act gave me goosebumps!

I would like to hear more traditional Christmas songs. The story-line was rather cheesy and unnecessary. Showing the slide-show was a nice alternative to the story. I liked having the audience sing-along during intermission. Seeing more diversity among the performers would be great!

Great Christmas show with a new theme each season. This was our second season.

Although I've never been to New York to see a show, I can't help but think the Purdue Christmas Show would fit right in. The quality of the talent and the production was simply amazing! The first half consisted of various "numbers" featuring each of the groups making up the Purdue Musical Organizations, and had lots of singing, dancing and good humor, and the arrival of Santa Claus. The second half was done cantata-style with the combined voices of all the groups (probably close to 300), and was breathtaking. It's no wonder so many people make this one of their annual Christmas traditions!

This was our 5th or 6th time going to the PMO CHRISTmas show. This time there were two van loads, 13 family members that went. As always, the show was worth every dollar spent. We especially love the hand bell choir. A few years ago they had a chimes choir. Wish it was still part of the show. This second part of the show, the cantata is always welcome in this day of secular music. Wish they had done the Hallelujah chorus at the end as in years past. It has always seemed a fitting end to the show.

What a beautiful blend of music, voices and bells to bring you into the Christmas spirit. The Cantata was a true spiritual feast! Bravo PMO!!!

The story they came up with this year was creepy and lackluster. The set popped out on the front part of the stage and so it put the actors too close to the audience. For those sitting up front, but on the sides rows it was really uncomfortable to watch when they were performing. However when the set went back into the floor it got better. The curtain would open and the choral performances would begin. My only complaint is that some of the soloists did not stand close enough to the microphone to be clearly heard. I will go again, but will pick a better seat just in case they try this way again.

I was completely overwhelmed by the spectacular Purdue Christmas Extravaganza. The best just keeps getting better and better. All the groups gave phenomenal performances, and the arrangements were fresh and exciting. The soloists were all magnificent. The powerful music of the cantata was dramatic and breathtaking. The elaborate sets, impressive staging, and fantastic lighting added to the magic of the extravaganza. The choreography was impeccable and added to the excitement. I especially enjoyed the tap-dancing reindeer. The costumes, especially those of the reindeer and soldiers, were lavish. The use of Rudolph as the theme from the early internet announcement of the Christmas Show and for transitions from one group to another was brilliant. This is a MUST SEE event. It is everything Christmas in one show.

First time I have been to the Christmas show and it was awesome. Can't wait to go next year!

This event is a tradition for our family. Its wonderful to go see such talented individuals with class and experience a wonderful Christmas tradition. Its nice to see that politics are not involved and CHRISTmas is still a word that's used.

I've been to 3 Purdue Christmas Shows and each one has completely blown me away! I love to attend shows during the Christmas season---it helps me to find my Christmas spirit. And they all lift me up in different ways and for different reasons. The incredible talent and unbelievable production value of this show is unmatched. Since Purdue does not have a music major one might assume this show might be less than expected. Oh, contraire. Because these joyful students are doing this purely out of the love of music and performing is possibly one of the reasons why it is so spectacular. They are well-trained and professional. I also attend shows at schools with music performance majors and I prefer Purdue s. There s a nice mix of secular and non-secular music and themes, to meet everyone s expectations. I plan to go every year from now on.

Delightful variety of Christmas music quite professionally performed. A wonderful Christmas experience for people of all ages.

The show changes each year- this year's was a light-hearted story about Rudolph. This Purdue show is high quality for being a college production, you really a experience a top level production. Probably can chalk it up to the new directors and their vision.

I went for the first time for Purdue Christmas show with my boyfriend. We both enjoyed it a lot. The music, drama, laughter and synchronization was just beyond expectations. I have never seen such a vast use of stage, levels to create all the effects needed. My most favorite part was bells music piece.

Wonderful performance. Well worth the price of admission. We will return next year.

The Rudolph show was well sung and well choreographed. After the intermission the combined choirs sang traditional Christmas songs. They were done very well and the soloists were exceptional.

This was the most amazing concert I have ever attended. It really inspired me to do everything possible to have a wonderful Christmas holiday with my family and friends.

The show was wonderful, the costumes, the interpretation, the visual effects, all was as expected.

Top to bottom, side to side, the Purdue Christmas Show was terrific! Kudos to the students for volunteering to be part of Purdue Music Organization and taking on such an ambitious schedule the week before finals.

In my opinion this is just the best Christmas show around. It was especially good this year since it went back to the history of it. It has made my holidays better. Please don't ever drop the Christian end to the show. It completes it.

While I like secular Christmas music and shows, I really enjoy Christmas events that are about the birth of Christ. The PMO Christmas show was a beautiful blend of both fun and silly Christmas music and deeply moving Christian views of Christmas. The first half of the show was Christmas through the decades with PMO. This was as good as I would have expected from any professional program. The second half of the show was a Christmas cantata. It was beautiful and represented the truth of the Christmas story. I was very impressed. I highly recommend this show to all.

The Purdue Christmas Show is always wonderfully done. This year's show was no different. The students and staff of PMO are true professionals and put on one of the best Christmas shows in the country. There is truly something for everyone there - you will not be disappointed!

The set up, the songs, the outfits....by far the best PMO yet that I have seen. I have been to about 10 of these shows. I loved it and everyone around me loved it! They have had some "snooze fest" shows in the past, so this year I was really impressed!

First half was like a Broadway show. A quality production, as good as you'll find anywhere. Second half was sacred Christmas songs with a mass choir. Great music, from exceptional singers, BUT it was literally painfully loud. It made it very difficult to enjoy.

Always love the PMO Christmas Show! Almost! Although the talent was phenomenal, the theme of this year's show was not. This was the first year we treated my sons and their families (13 of us in all!). We were expecting something more child oriented, so the financial theme was a bit of a disappointment. Still plan to take them all next year, though!!
