On a mild summer Thursday evening in Chicago's suburban Southland, the bands Nine Inch Nails and Soundgarden (both vintage 90s bands) proved to be this summer's Tag Team Champion. The night was perfect for rock concert goers, as the weather was cool and comfortable and the bands burned and sizzled throughout the night. Soundgarden started the evening with their supersonic sounds. This was a great warm-up to the evening as dusk settled on the First Midwest Bank Amphitheatre in Tinley Park, IL. The venue seemed to be a decent location despite the fact that many missed the beginning songs of Soundgarden because of traffic that resembled a Friday evening in Chicagoland. Luckily, the parking lot is a short stroll to the Amphitheatre and even though the venue looks like a prison camp, as Soundgarden's leader singer Chris Cornell put it, the acoustics were clear throughout the theatre (even in the lawn seating). It seemed to be a great night as Soundgarden finished their set, but as dusk turned to night and Nine Inch Nails took the stage in the twilight (after only a miraculously short 20 minute set change), the concert got even better. In fact, NIN burned away any doubt that they are indeed the best live music act around. Mainly this is the case because of Trent Reznor's (the band's leader and founder) classic compositions and because of the band's unbelievable mature sound on stage. The theatrics, video effects and light show effects didn't hurt either. The crowd was in a tantric fury by the end of it all and the entire concert had well over three hours of music between the two bands for the price of one. It was the best opener you'll ever see and the best closer in the business all on one show. Soundgarden started the sizzle and NIN burned it away into the crisp cool night, making it one of the most comfortable summer nights in years.

Nine Inch Nails put on a tour like never before. Trent's ability to always keep it fresh is what keeps me coming back for more. My wife and I are from Chicago and have seen them live 5 times dating back to last year and every show was different from the last. Just amazing!! From the newer beats and light shows that gets you dancing to the heavier side we've come to know and love all the way to the more mellow art work such as "Hurt", NIN has everything you look for in a headliner!! Please come back soon!! Soundgarden sounded great as well!

Nine Inch Nails was awesome! Loved their live show. Sound garden on the other hand, sucks. Was never a fan so I wasn't enjoying their show. Didn't even see Cold Cave.

Sound Garden put on a pretty good show. They played most of their hit songs but there wasn't a lot of crowd interaction. Some bands that you go see have the singing along with almost every song. The sound quality wasn't there either. As far as Nine inch Nails.....Not a big fan....I thought they SUCKED. but not into there music. We left after 3rd song.

Soundgarden sounded excellent. Chris Cornell still possesses one of the most amazing voices in rock and Kim Thayil remains one of the best guitarists out there. That said, NIN was the reason I attended the show. They did not disappoint. They opened in a way I've never seen before, on a bare stage with the houselights still up. After all these years, Trent still finds a way to stage shows in a more interesting and surprising way that anyone else. For this tour, NIN is down to just four players. All the extra musicians and back-up singers from last year's arena shows are gone. Good choice. This is raw, back-to-basics NIN. The songs are the centerpeice. The musicianship is great (everyone in the band played at least three different instruments). My only regret is that as a co-headliner, they had to cut their set down to 90 minutes. But it was 90 minutes of pure NIN. Trent also announced that this is their last tour for a while. See them this summer, while you still can.

I've seen hundreds of shows - this was the best ever. NIN (Nine Inch Nails) wasn't who I came to see. However, I will see them again, soon! The venue was good, but one seat was broken. The stage show by NIN was second to none. Blown away by it. The sound was studio quality - not sure how they managed to make a concert sound so mastered.

Soundgarden is why I went to this show, I had read NIN was opening and then Soundgarden would play. This was definitely a NIN crowd, the show should have have been billed as as a double headliner. Both bands were amazing, sounded so good. I did not like this venue for a rock show, the crowd was not into the music as much as I thought they would be. I don't know if it was the seating or just the crowd, but I did not feel the energy there like I have at other shows when two incredible bands are playing.

I have always loved Nine Inch Nails and Soundgarden and most likely I always will. However I went specifically to see Soundgarden and there was a huge issue. The sound sucked. Not the music, the actual sound. You could barely hear Chris Cornell most of the time and I could hear static in the speakers. Also, the parking is terrible, it took me almost 45min to get in and park, let alone get out and the mall it is in is huge and kind of a pain to navigate. Luckily I am seeing them again in an outdoor venue in CA that I know how better audio.

Great Show, Soundgarden was amazing, played the hits and only a couple new songs. NIN stage was constantly evolving as Trent Reznor has through the years. Good choices in set list, excellent performance and pacing. Wanted to jump in a pit, alas no moshing in a sold out Hollywood bowl, had to settle for jumping up and down in my seat.

I have seem Nine Inch Nails twice, once at the Moda Center in Portland and at the Sleep Country Amphitheater in Washington. Both times it was the act I have seem. Trent Reznor is very energetic and it sounds great. Much better than Tool's Maynard. The light show is the best I have seen too! I hope NIN keeps touring because I will be seeing them every time they come around. Highly recommend if you like Industrial Rock.

Venue was great, perfect weather for an end of summer evening - I enjoyed watching the concert from a ways away in the grass, relaxed. Even though the lawn seating is so far away & you can barely see the stage, I like having the option of chillin' on a blanket having a beer, especially since I have a bad back. I've sat in the seated area in the past & ended up being uncomfortable...but that's just me. Only complaint is that some stupid gal ended up standing in front of me to where I couldn't see the big screen showing Trent Reznor up close...I purposely chose my location to stay out of the way of all the people standing & rocking out, she just decided to stand in front of all the people sprawled out on their blankets half way through the concert, obviously she didn't have any concept of the fact that we couldn't see around or through her...idiot.

Seeing Soundgarden and Chris Cornell in particular was amazing. They are simply some of the most talented at rock of all time. Nine Inch Nails put on a great show. It was visually appealing. The base was like none I have ever heard before. The show would have been great with either one of these bands, even better with both.

Started out on the lawn area and found out I had closer seats to the stage. It was awesome. Cold Cave did great. I was there for NIN and I didn't know Soundgarden all that well. Even though there were seat everyone stood up. I'm short so it sucked a little. By time NIN came on my feet were hurting, it was hot, but it didn't matter as soon as NIN came on.

I've never seen NIN in concert before and it's one I will never forget! Trent Reznor was amazing!! So much energy - he really knows how to get the crowd going! I was in total disbelief that nobody stood for Soundgarden. I mean, really?! I guess they were all there for NIN, but show a little respect people. Chris Cornell was great - hit every note. His voice is unbelievable. Bought the tickets for my husband for his birthday. He said it was the best show we've ever been too. We were rocking out the whole time, it was great!!

Having seen neither of these groups in concert before, I wasn't really sure what to expect, but, come on, it's Soundgarden and NIN, so I pretty much figured no matter what it was going to be worth the ticket price. I WAS NOT DISAPPOINTED!!! Soundgarden was absolutely fantastic!! Their stage show was somewhat low-key but their energy didn't suffer for that in the least. Chris Cornell's voice is mesmerizing and as strong as ever—maybe stronger. And the camaraderie of the group throughout the show was palpable. It was really special to see them for the first time and made me really thankful that they got back together!! NIN had, hands down, the most bizarre concert start I've ever seen… I don't know if it was intentional or not, but the house lights were still up when Trent Reznor came out on stage and started working his magic with his keyboard, but there were a lot of people (including myself) who didn't even realize it was him!! After about a minute, realization settled in, right about the time that the next band member came out…and over the next few minutes they all straggled out one by one. It was really weird, but in retrospect, not entirely unexpected for Trent Reznor! Before seeing NIN, I declared that Muse had the best stage show of ANY touring group—ever. AFTER seeing NIN, I'm not so sure!! NIN's stage show was nothing short of SPECTACULAR through every single minute of the show!!! The laser lights, the background screens, the sound system…the whole NIN visual show was the perfect foundation for Trent's voice and energy. I will definitely see NIN again!!

I have to give the night just average rating because the first half of day/night was phenomenal but the second half was not so good or fun / Mostly because the Hollywood Bowl DROPPED THE BALL. I met tons of people from different countries that said they traveled just to see Soundgarden. I know they were not disappointed!!! Soundgarden rocked that place down! The energy was high, the sound & set was fantastic, and Chris sounded as good if not better than he did back in the day. NIN was a let down. Trent didn't come across as if he truly wanted to put on a great show. And he didn't! Their whole show was pretty average & I would not spend $$ again to see that. Now for the Hollywood Bowl - which I used to love & recommend to people always. I will not do that anymore. After waiting in an excessively long line to get food, the guy behind the counter yells out: ' We have no more food ' !! Excuse me - the headliner band is just now taking the stage & you have no FOOD. Needless to say, after hours of being there - food was wanted & the rest of show still had to go. After returning to our seats - we decided to go to other levels looking for a stand open that served food. Not even one was open and the night was not near over. This is not acceptable under any circumstances. Water and food should be available until the last minute. Period.

I wasn't a big Soundgarden fan before this show, but they really impressed me. Much more solid driving rock then their studio albums would suggest - "Black-Hole Sun" was really good. NIN was spectacular. The stage presentation with the lighting panels was almost as captivating as the music. They did a great mix of songs. They also were better than I had expected. NIN goes on my short list of bands I'd see again under almost any circumstances. They came across as very serious, and very professional - a top-tier band.. And my date really liked the "beefcake" lead singer :-)

NIN delivered, the stage set was awsome. The white backdrop screens with only the shadows of the performers on them really allowed us to focus on the tallenst of the performers and they shined. Soundgarden was awsome, vocals were hot, guitar solos left nothing to be desired, however the backdrop grafix were distracting and took away from the performance.

I love soundgarden, I have seen them before and they are always amazing. The venue was just 'ok'. The sound there is always rough, a little to harsh for my liking. At every concert that Ive been to there, when the band talks to the audience, you cant understand them. Its always annoying. Moda center sound is so much better. Chris Cornells voice was just as great as it was 20+ years ago, and the band was perfect. It doesnt really matter to me where they play, I will always try to see them. The opening bad was actually really good too. That was a surprise. At a lot of concerts, the band they pick for the 30minute opener is rarely any good, but this one was good and fun to watch.

This is one of the best concerts I've attended! The acts opened on time - no two hour diva delays! The sound was great, security was polite but definitely there to keep a lot of pushing, screaming and seat jumping to a minimum. Soundgarden was incredible! NIN better than I've seen before.

Words can't even express how unbelievable this show was! Both bands were amazing! Chris Cornell still has it! I was a little bummed that they didn't perform Live to Rise...but they played a lot of good songs that brought back some good memories! As far as NIN is concerned, Trent Reznor is brilliant! He always puts on a good show. I was engaged from the moment he walked out on stage. He looked hot, I loved the stage setup, the setlist...my seats were freaking awesome. I left the show feeling euphoric! Wish I would have bought tickets to the Hollywood show as well.

Soundgarden - awesome as great as ever before, maybe ever better. Cornell's voice at age 50 -- UNFREAKIN REALI! Truly remarkable. Great show. NIN - were okay. The raw talent is not there like with Soundgarden, a hard act to follow. Many songs too club-poppy (which is fine), but way too much pre-programmed synth stuff going on.

My husband has been of fan on NIN for over a decade and never seen them in concert.... Until Monday night. I told him we had a friend's opening to attend in Hollywood so as we parked the car and made sure it was valid parking, I handed him a printout and asked him to let me know what the address was to where we were going. He opened the paper and the moment he realized they were tickets to his favorite band in the world, he was speechless. Eventually, he found some words: "I don't want to cry." (I was recording by this time). Walking to the bowl, it was a must to stop in front of the marquee and snap a pic. His smile was bigger than I had ever seen it! Making our way past the ticket takers and tons of concertgoers, we went straight for the merch tent and got an official NIN long sleeve tee and keychain. The beer garden line was next and then off to our seats... The sound was AMAZING! I had never seen much less heard NIN's music outside of his one commercial hit. My husband knew every word, every nuance of each song. The stage presentat was simple at best, but it was only one minute in when the audience was treated to a light show like no other! Now, I know why my hubby's such a NIN fan and the Hollywood Bowl is such an awesome venue for any genre of music. Looking forward to our next show...

Nine Nails Nails NEVER disappoints. The sounds and visuals are amazing. Trent always goes all out and creates a beautiful, memorable and artistic show! I have had the privilege of seeing them quite a a few times and it's always awesome! Soundgarden was amazing as well. We also sat by some rad NIN fans. We made some fun memories with these people and we all sang and danced together. It's nice to sit with people who actually enjoy a show and know every song. NIN fans are the best!

The Nine Inch Nails concert on 8/21/2014 was fantastic. Trent Reznor delivered strong song staples from his catalog and added a few new ones in the mix. So happy to hear CLOSER. Sound was great. Seats were good but I wish I had been able to buy pit tickets. Despite the type of music Soundgraden and NIN play the crowd was pretty laided back and truly enjoyed the music. My one complaint is the video guy kept focusing on musician Robin Finck with the bizarre haircut. Robin got more screen time then Trent, the amount of focus on that band mate was almost borderline obsession. LOL

Since the two bands were splitting the time, unfortunately, each band didnt play for too long; however, it didn't leave room for the dreaded, "Here's a new one that you may not have heard yet." It was all thriller, no filler. Both bands rocked the place with nothing but great familiar songs.

Soundgarden did not disappoint. Cornell's vocals are as good as ever and Thayil's guitar work was incredible. There was no wasted time during their set. My only complaint is wish they could have played longer and they failed to play my favorite Slaves and Bulldozers. NIN is quite the experience. Had never seen them live before and must say they put on a great show both musically and visual. Kudos as they did play my favorite song, Closer, but wished they would have done more older songs that I did know, like Burn or Dead Souls. Was very impressed with energy of Trent Reznor. Very multi-talented individual with a great voice as well as being so easy on the eyes! Overall a great experience.

Nine Inch Nails AND Soundgarden, Ahhh....what a combination! When I first heard rumors that they would be touring together as the 20th celebration of both bands best selling albums (The Downward Spiral and Superunknown), I was beside myself. Even though their music is different, they are my two favorite bands. I bought my tickets the first day they became available at the pre-sale, and settled down for the looong 5months it would take to actually see the bands play at the Lakewood Amphitheatre in Atlanta, GA. The Dillinger Escape Plan opened up and they were alright, but they and everyone else knew we were waiting for the big guns. The main singer came all the way to our section of the theatre, so that was entertaining and the best part of their show. Now to Soundgarden! One of my biggest regrets in my concert history was never seeing SG back in the the 90's when they were in their element. Well, as they say, it is better late than never, so this was my first time seeing SG, but not NIN. They put on a really good show and played most of their hits, but I was slightly disappointed that they only played 13 songs. I have been keeping up with their setlist and they were playing 14-15 songs per concert. I REALLY wanted to hear Slaves and Bulldozers, but Cornell has only played that once this tour and it was his 50th birthday, so I guess he only pulls out the big guns/vocals on special occasions! They best part of the concert was the run of songs that included The Day I Tried to Live, My Wave, Outshined, and Black Hole Sun. Their lights and the sound weren't perfect, but you could definitely understand the song lyrics if you were a fan. I've never been to an outdoor concert, so this influenced my opinion on the quality of the sound. Ladies and Gentlemen, I now welcome you to the main event...NIN! That opening was more dramatic than the actual opening of NIN. The lights were on (part of the outdoor theatre has a roof) and everyone was patiently waiting NIN's arrival when we heard a cheer go up from the fans by the stage and looked up to see Reznor casually standing there by a synthesizer! He started playing the opening chords of Copy of A with the band slowly showing up to play their instruments. It wasn't until half way through the song that the lights were turned off and they really let loose then! If you are a fan of NIN, you know Reznor is notorious for being a perfectionist and really cares how things are synced and how the lights go with the beat of the music. Well, his attention to detail really shows. The sound and lights blew SG's show away. I love the use of the moving screens and lights. They really add to the throbbing beats of the drums and the electronics that make NIN's music unique. I've already mentioned that I was paying attention to the setlist of SG and this was true for NIN as well. I was excited that he was consistently playing Closer. I have seen NIN 2x before (Downward Spiral '95 & Hesitation Marks '13) and he didn't play this song. Closer was played during the meat of the concert which started with March of the Pigs. During this song was the best 'original' moment of the concert. He was halfway through the song when he dilberately paused so the crowd was caught singing the lyrics and then he sang the part after the crowd enjoyed their moment. After Pigs came Piggy, the Frail/Wretched, Closer, and Gave Up. I LOVED this part of the setlist! I knew from my Oct. '13 concert that the Frail/Wretched combo was well done but he had only done it 1x before on this tour, so it was great that I could experience this awesomeness again. It was icing on the cake that he also played Gave Up, which I had also never heard in concert. The ending was full of well chosen songs as well. It was Eraser (so violent/intense!), Wish, The Hand that Feeds, Head Like a Hole and the closer was Hurt. He played all my favorites except Burn (played previously 3x) ). The only song I wish he would take out is the Great Destroyer. He has played this at every venue on this tour and I thought it was the weakest part of the concert. I think he should play The Warning instead if he wanted a song from Year Zero. Overall, this was a great concert that was worth the hassle of driving 3+ hours and dealing with Friday rush hour traffic (and a flooding rain) in Atlanta. I read one review where someone thought it was ridiculous that NIN was the lead band. I don't understand this criticism. I have over 240 NIN songs in my library and I know I don't have the complete list. He has so many songs to choose from and a great concert history that this critique baffled me. The intensity of NIN's live show is something all fans should experience at least once in their lifetime!

I bought the ticket to see Soundgarden. I loved them despite the fact it seemed Cornell may have stressed the vocals too much on night one (7/21). I know he's amazing because I have seen him sing live prior to this show. The band played very well. I did not expect NIN to be so breathtaking. I had never seen them live before and it blew me away. The crowd was energized by the music. Words are not enough. Just google the Head Like A Hole performance. There's some good videos up on YouTube. It only gets 4 stars because the opener played for 20 minutes. This caused several people to miss the first part of Soundgarden's act.

The concert was absolutely amazing!!! The light show that Nine Inch Nails had is the best I've ever seen and the songs they played were great! Not only is Nine Inch Nails the best band, the concert was at the best venue ever! Red Rocks baby!!!! I've been to their the last 5 shows here in Colorado and this one was the best. I had such a great time seeing Trent Reznor rock that stage! I can't wait to see him again and again!!!

Wow. We planned a special trip out to Red Rocks to see this Soundgarden/NIN show and we were not disappointed. The atmosphere is amazing at Red Rocks with the huge rock formations on each side of the seating area. The designers of the venue were super smart when they decided to make the seating aisles wide enough to accommodate in/out traffic with minimal distraction. The music was great. NIN played all the hits plus some disco, punk, techno, hard rock, and noise rock. Soundgarden was full of energy and hitting on all cylinders. Ben Shepherd was in a rowdy mood. We'll be back to this venue next summer. Sound was really good too.

I've seen Nine Inch Nails a few times now. This was one of the best performances. The sound was great. I'd never been to the venue and was impressed. It was relatively easy to get in and out for the strip. Trent Reznor is amazing. Soundgarden didn't sound quite as good as NIN but I am biased of course. They were still decent, but not quite on the same scale. Go see it!!! Well worth it.

Went to see Soundgarden. Nine Inch Nails was the headliner. Paid a lot for tickets before they were available to the general public, sat Waaay high up. It took the usher almost 10 minutes to find our seat. The crowd was mostly there for NIN. I have seen Soundgarden before, and they have put on a great show, but their time was limited and the crowd was not so appreciative. No encore. Trent Reznor was in good form. But we like Soundgarden more. As warned, it took an hour to get out of the parking lot. And another 20 minutes to get out of Hollywood.

I was so happy to see one of my favorite bands Soundgarden. I was amazed at how good they sounded, they still rocked and put on a great show. Chris Cornell still sounds the same he did 20 years ago. Nine Inch Nails was good too, but did not enjoy as much. Plus, there was an annoying guy in front of us in pavillion, dancing errratically to NIN, almost hitting me a few times while flailing his arms around. We ended up leaving after about 5 songs partly due to this annoying person. Otherwise, great show!

After getting over being bummed that Death Grips wasn't opening up I remembered that these are two of the heaviest bands that have ever gotten mainstream airplay. Yes they are old guys, but so am I. I last saw Soundgarden in 1986, and they have improved. I had never seen Nine Inch Nails but I am a serious fan now. The stage show was brilliant. The Clark Cty Ampitheater is a bland but serviceable venue aesthetically, but the vibe was great and my stepdaughter and I had some very good pulled pork nachos that were reasonably priced, that I washed down with an extremely unreasonably priced beer, but I get it , you can't go and let 17,000 people get #wasted. Really a great experience.

What a show! I have been to many, many concerts and this was unbelievable! Soundgarden was in some ways better than back in 94! Cool to see old Pearl Jam drummer Matt Chamberlain playing with them. NIN did a stage show unlike anyone has ever done. Trent comes on an empty stage with only a sampler, as he starts one band member at a time comes on stage with an instrument and adds to what he is doing. Then the screens with X-box Kinects are rolled in behind each band member. It just builds and builds until it's a full blown stage show. Amazing. Fans, take note of Ilan Rubin. Was blown away by his talent. He brings perfect dynamics and perfect timing while playing percussion, then moves to bass, then moves to keys and back to drums all through the set. He is a multi-instrumental bad ass!!

NIN once again blew me away, I watched them play last year in Spokane and Trent Reznor always astounds me by the excitement you can see he still feels for his music. I originally bought the tickets to see Soundgarden since I have been in love with grunge music for quite a long time, but they didn't blow me away as much as just give me memories back of when I was a kid listening to hits like Black Hole Sun and Spoonman in the car on the way home from the lake.

Soundgarden was amazing. I was wondering why they were opening. Then Trent came out and blew my mind. I was expecting some gritty techno. Every song was brutal and yet strangely intimate and honest. They jammed their asses off. They really left it all on the table.

Opening act didn't show. Never heard of them Cold Cave? Took awhile for Soundgarden to start the show. They were good but had some sound quality problems through part of it. When NIN came on WOW. Amazing from start to finish. They sounded incredible and their light display was spectacular! Only wished they would have added one of my favs Down In It to the set. Will def see them again and again, hopefully at a different venue since it took over an hour to get out of the parking lot.

All three acts gave it their all and did not disappoint in the least. Seeing Matt Chamberlain on the big stage was the highlight for me. I figured if one Matt C had to be replaced by another Matt C, then this would be their weapon of choice. You can't deny the loose groove he's got going on behind that kit. Not even the "Reality" of some "Heathen" could kill that groove. Peace out!

I've seen NIN a few times and as usual they sounded great with lots of energy. Sound Engineers did a perfect job with almost no distortion. The opposite with Soundgarden. Chris Cornell can still hit all of the notes but his vocals were drownd out by horrible guitar distortion. I'm a fan of Soundgarden but it took me a few seconds to try to recognize what they were playing. I also noticed the bass player looking over at his sound guy and either pointing up or down, finally frustrated and knocking over the monitors with his feet. NIN sound crew should show the Soundgarden crew how to sound a show.

Both bands were excellent. We missed most of the opening act so can't review. Trent Reznor again amazes with his creativity. Incredible light/stage setup. Simply brilliant. Really impressed with the amphitheater too. Never been before but will definitely be back. The Gorge is nice but Sleep Country is the best outdoor venue I've been to. Of course leaving after the show is a problem at every outdoor venue and this was no exception. The delay getting out was not that bad though since we left during the NIN encore. It always is problematic getting out no matter where you go. But the layout and access are terrific. Really made it a great time.

The show was awesome. The venue was incredible because it was small enough that wherever people sat they had a great view. The sound was also great: Cornell could still hit it and sounded fantastic, and NIN also sounded amazing. Soundgarden's show was more straightforward without a lot of lights or video back drops, it felt like a traditional rock show. NIN was filled with so much bass that it penetrated your insides, and in a good way. The lighting and special effects were super cool, and it was obviously well thought out, planned, and executed. It was fantastic. It was expensive, but it was worth every penny. We loved it.

NIN was incredible! They played new songs from Hesitation Marks and catered to their fans by playing their classics. Trent Reznor was in prime form re-inventing himself as the genius that he is without any subtle apologies. The most entertaining rock concert I've seen by far this year! Great musicianship. This is a band that has stood the test of time. Love them!

They may have several albums behind them but NIN and Soundgarden are still amazing. For energy, musicianship and songwriting there are few if any bands that can out rock Soundgarden. There has always been a sophisticated melding of heavy metal power, strong almost ethereal melody lines and interesting guitar work in their music. I love both bands but think the Bowl sound worked better for them than NIN. We saw NIN at the Staples center in Nov. and this was a different show. The Bowl show was a little stripped down - a stripped down NIN show is still huge and full of amazing lighting and stage effects of which Trent is the master. From our seats (Front, Section H) the sound was a bit muddy the guitar was buried. The Staples show I would describe, for lack of a better word, as warmer. For the sake of contrast I imagine he concentrated on a colder more electronic sound for the Bowl which was still great - we just preferred the Staples show.

I'm not a fan of the Shoreline Amphitheater. Actually, there are very few acts that would even get me to consider going to a show there. Nine Inch Nails and Soundgarden is one of them. I had never seen Soundgarden play before. I had high expectations and they were met. Chris Cornell was on top of it and the band rocked it. Although, I must say his voice a little shot for Black Hole Sun. This was my second time seeing NIN. They were great. Awesome stage presence and sound. Trent Reznor was his usual cool self.
