Bryan Ferry is still a great performer. But the first hour of the concert dragged. I was actually considering leaving when he played Love is the Drug. From then on, it was brilliant. Most people were standing and dancing and singing along. I wish these classic artists would stop marketing their new stuff that no body cares about all at the start of the show, and saving the good stuff for the end. Mix it up!

Judith, the opening act, was incredible. The wine was delicious. And of course, Bryan was unforgettable. The only thing missing was the hot air balloons:( ...blaming that on the BC fires. Besides the Gipsy Kings, one of the best shows at the winery yet.

Mr. Ferry still enchants the concert-goer with his platinum hits, good looks and impeccable style. His band and vocalists are also super pro and add to the live show. The only criticism would be directed at the sound engineer. Had he brought the overall levels a couple of notches down the sound would have been crisper, prettier and easier on the ears. The old gem of the Fillmore/Jackie Gleason Theater does not have state-of-the-art acoustics which results in a substantial amount of reverberation during concerts. A savvy engineer would better fine-tune the theater's system in order to avoid the brunt of the annoying distortion. Loud, blaring, uncomfortable sound does not equal quality sound.

What the hell happened? I get to FIllmore and my seat had been given away/disappeared/closed...? Sat main floor in the back, nice audience that was enthusiastic, of course lots of music from 'Our New Album', then intermission and 'the good stuff'. Typical concert designed to sell the new album but ends up boring the audience. Beautiful show with dancers etc but the sax player was lame, is that his daughter or something? She seemed subpar compared to rest of musicians, lots of missed notese.

Bryan is one of a few performers who always leaves you wanting more. This latest tour is,in my opinion, the best "solo" tour I've seen him do.From beginning to end the players, the songs and of course the man himself were top-notch! He is suave as ever. He's brought a pretty huge ensemble this time around.4 back-up singers,bass,2 guitarists(including long-time cohort Chris Spedding)a saxaphonist/keyboardist,pianist and original Roxy Music drummer Paul Thompson. The song selection was inspiring,a perfect split between Roxy Music and solo numbers,20 in all.If there are any folks who are reading this and are on the fence about going to see him,do yourself a favour and GO!!You will not be disappointed.

Wow..... the atmosphere and history of The Fillmore with its purple lit chandeliers set the scene for an unforgetable gig....... what a great venue for Bryan Ferry and his band ! This was the first gig on the US leg of the tour and going by audience reaction it went down a treat. From the first song people were on their feet. More ....more ...... more they shouted ... Bryan Ferry and his band performed a selection of great classic tracks and new songs from his latest ablbum Olympia....outstanding......

Flew from the US to the UK this past weekend to see Bryan at Kew Gardens. Definitely worth the trip. The concert was great -- he performed all of the fan favorites, old and new. Beautiful venue, fabulous weather and fireworks at the end of the concert made the evening a memorable one. Looking forward to the US leg of the tour!

Brian Ferry and his band we're absolutely awesome Wednesday night outdoors at Humphreys on the Bay!! The second song" Slave to Love" had the crowd on their feet, and the band was tight. Every song including covers of "Simple Twist of Fate" by Dylan and " Like a Hurricane " by Neil Young were fresh, soulful, and energetic!! The finish was a string of crowd favorites that had the whole place rockin.......great great show, Brian !!! Come see us again soon!!

Mr Ferry and I are about the same age and I could not believe the sheer energy of this show. Many of the songs are familiar even to this spectator who did not previously consider himself a Roxy Music fan. One of those shows you don't want to end and the young woman Jorja, playing the sax was phenomenal.

We flew in just to see Bryan Ferry - have always been a big fan since late 70s. He and his wonderful band did not disappoint. The show built up to a crescendo and then everyone was standing and dancing - the energy was fantastic. They played more Roxy Music than I anticipated but he did hit key songs from his solo career. The only disappointment we had was there was no encore - so it just left us hanging - he loved us then left us abruptly. Overall a 5 star experience - so happy we made the trip.

Unfortunately, Bryan Ferry did not play some of his biggest hits from the 80's and we left disappointed. The band sounded good, at times Ferry's singing voice sounded weak. He never spoke to the audience other than to name the band members, which made it seem as if he was disengaged from the whole event (going through the motions?). Many seemed to be leaving early. Not worth the time or money spent.

The show was amazing. Judith Owen has a beautiful voice and such compassion it was very heart felt. Bryan Ferry did NOT disappoint. He sang and preformed for almost 2 solid hours. At 70, I was expected a shorter show, but he has so much material to cover it keep all of us fans on our feet and clapping loudly in our seats. Can't wait for another chance to see him.

I loved Bryan Ferry at the moment I heard him first, which must have been somewhere in the seventies, when my musical preferences were starting to shape. Needless to say, I was an avid listener to many British Rock, Soft Rock, Hard Rock and other genres. But Roxy Music was special because of Bryan Ferry's voice. Soft, soothing, harmonic. Of course it helps that he is an experienced band leader, that the band itself is phenomenal (keep your eyes and ears open for the violinist, the saxophonist, the lead electric guitar, and the bass player). The show was outstanding. Truthfully, at first I didn't like the venue. Amphitheater style, with plastic chairs in the middle and open areas where people where devouring all kinds of food and loading themselves with the Chateau Ste Michelle wine (the venue IS a winery). Admittedly, I didn't like the opening act either. Judith Owens is most likely a very respectable artist, but very far from my listening preferences. But all that changed at the moment the first accord of the good old Roxy Music was heard around. Thousands of people, (I wanted to write old and young, but they were mostly old, like me) shot out of their plastic chairs and picnic blankets, and started dancing and applauding. Bryan Ferry is a professional. Good looking, well dressed, singing, playing harmonica, leading the band to a great performance. At one time he left, but came back for an expected encore, and after almost two hours left the stage as the show ended. If you like seventies rock, if you love Bryan Ferry and Roxy Music, do not miss it.

Bryan Ferry delivered a genuine performance for his fans. He and his dynamite band rocked for 2 plus hours and he showed the energy of a much younger rocker. He was energetic and brought the fans into it every chance he could get. The band was nothing short of electric. He had a beautiful sax player who killed it! He had 2 background singers and an awesome young kid on the electric guitar. He also had a just as sensational drummer, keyboardist, and bass guitarist. They just rocked! I've read some negative reviews saying he should phone it in. I WILL say Bryan has lost a lot of power in his voice. I'd say he's at about 40% which means his volume is pretty low. That being said, he could lip sync- but he doesn't. His band could play with background audio support- but they don't. I've seen bands a third of his age that do just that and sucked, Bryan didn't cheat the fans. He went all out and I appreciate that. You won't get many more chances to see him and his awesome band. Go see him because you're a fan of Roxy Music but just don't go expecting to see a 30 year old belting out razor sharp lines and you'll be fine. This is why I didn't give him 5 stars. If you were to go see Paul McCartney or any other older crooner, you would expect the same so give him a break. I LOVED it and so did my 16 yr old son who spends too much time listening to rap. IF you're a true Bryan Ferry fan, you'll be entertained! The second half of the show went NUCLEAR when they did "Let's Stick Together" and they killed the sax, plus he played the harmonica, AND his background singers amped it up!!

Fantastic evening of real talent. From the opener, Judith Owen who's piano/vocal combo was a clear reminder of the level of talent that missing today. Very Carol King. Very cool. I bought her album after their set & they held a meet & greet. Nice people. Bryan Ferry. His name alone speaks volumes. His band & their setlist was nothing less than stellar. A great combo of his solo material & plenty of ROXY MUSIC!!! The production was quite good as well, very creative lighting was utilized with each song. At age 70 Brian Ferry is doing just great! His band was exceptional - special kudos to his female sax player and his duo backup singers. Sax player was talented and easy on the eyes. The backup singers complimented Brian's voice beautifully along with their sultry dance moves. His vocals are not exactly like his younger days but that shouldn't deter you from his concerts. I was hoping against hope he'd sing his rarely performed song "Is Your Love Strong Enough" - but not so :( Sound system sounded a bit muffled, especially first half of show. idk, maybe the sound has something to do with seating placement. We were 13 rows from the stage. Overall a great evening at the Beacon! A class act performing at a class venue!

The concert was as perfect as a concert can be. From the beginning to the end Bryan and the band were exceptional. The play list included a good number of Roxy Music's classic hits. At least one Dylan song and quite of few of Bryan's solo pieces. It could have lasted another two hours and I would not have been bored. The lighting greatly enhanced the moods of the sets. The musicians were exceptional. And then there was Bryan, his voice as good as ever, his understated classic presence. Thanks Bryan Ferry for another memorable concert!

Great songs, lots of atmospheric stuff, and of course all the Roxy Rollers are still fabulous, timeless and true. This is a very painful review to write because I have been a big fan of Bryan Ferry's ever since I first saw him play w/ Roxy and Eno at the club Paradiso in Amsterdam way back in 1971. Over the years I have seen him at many many venues such as the Paramount in Oakland, Radio City Music Hall and the Hollywood Bowl. This is because his live performances have always blown me away as he is one of those singers who sound better live than they do in the studio. Sadly this was not the case Monday nite. That larger than life persona that captivated audiences through the decades was gone and it felt like he was phoning in his performance. Its not easy touring, I know many younger musicians who would pass out at his grueling schedule. But perhaps its time to retire and let Otis Ferry tour in your place w lip synching. Honestly the buffet table in the VIP lounge was more interesting thank this concert.

The sound for his voice was set too low. When it was quieter and easy to hear his voice you wondered what happened to his voice. Sad to say but he has lost his wonderful voice. The rhythm guitar player had a good deep voice and covered for Brian on many ocassions. I was sitting in row 4 dirrectly facing both that rhythm guitarist and Brian when he was on keyboard. Too bad, the show was good and the song choices were good but his voice was missing. Dawn Landes was a nice surprise. Her online video does not do her justice. She is great live. She was nervous and started singing the wrong song but stopped and correct herself. My hats off to her, a real stand up entertainer.

Bryan Ferry had absolutely no vocal range and his voice was weak and had virtually no depth to any song he tried to sing. He failed miserably! He showed absolutely no connection to his audience other than say "hello San Diego". The only time he talked to the audience was to introduce his band members which he did more than once. This was by far the worst concert I ever went to and I left before it was over. This is one performer who you need not waste your money on! I absolutely love Humphreys as a venue for shows, my only suggestion is that they put chairs in for real size people not 10 year old kids. Being packed in like sardines is a little ridiculous,

He played most of his old hits which is really his claim to fame. This was great since he's been making new music since the 70's. So, everyone knew the songs and roared in applause. He actually appeared overwhelmed at one point as he was waiving good bye to each side of the stadium. It was really a great experience to witness him perform. I wish I could have been closer to see his face with my own eyes, but thankfully there was a large screen. His band was also amazing, which he is also known for. My only negative point is that I found myself sitting among almost all old people. It blew my mind that I was close to their age group. I wonder how Bryan feels?

The band was spot on. The horn player was a women who played clarinet and sax and she was awesome. The backing vocals were killer especially on Avalon. However Bryan's voice has changed as he got older and could not get out of a deep monotone sound for any songs. This coupled with the fact that they shut down half of the arena from lack of ticket sales and the open area was barely 50 % capacity made me feel bad for him. He obviously realized and was not pleased because as soon as he finished he was off the stage and the lights went on. No encore.

What a disappointment. Bryan Ferry's voice is well past it's prime. Backup band was tight.

The entire orchestra was amazing, especially the saxophonist. Most of the songs were from Roxy Music, not his solo career. There was also a cover of 'Like a Hurricane' which showcased the talents of everyone, including an electric guitar solo by BF which was extremely good. I enjoyed all the songs they played from the 'Viva Roxy Music' live album.

Lots of performers on stage and they overcrowded his vocals. The sound was muddled. There was a run of about 10 songs that I wasn't familiar with and I have 6 RM albums and 3 BF albums. Left before the show was over.

It's hard to say this because I love Bryan Ferry so, but it's time to pack it in. Some of the show was fine, a lot wasn't. The band is tight - a little too tight, at times, as many songs were rushed and some were played with all of the emotion of a metronome - and large. And he needs large, because his voice is all but gone. I'd love to think he was ill that night - a bad bout of laryngitis would explain a lot - but no mention was made of that and he didn't cancel, so I think it's just his reality now. While some songs were passable, others were cringe-worthy. "More Than This" was a horror - out of tune AND he couldn't hit the notes, and he actually cut it short, mercifully. I started out hoping they would cover my favorite RM song, "Flesh and Blood", and ended up praying they WOUDN'T, as I couldn't stand to hear it murdered. Sad to say, but lip synching would have been a better show. Time to retire gracefully, Bryan.

Whenever there is an opening act, I get annoyed. I pay to see a particular artist but I have to first sit through 45 minutes of an obscure band or singer. This time was no different. I guess Bryan Ferry cannot carry a show anymore. He had a sizeable band - 2 guitarists, keyboard, drums, violinist, saxophonist and three vocalists (from what I could see). He started with a medley of older songs, not sure why he felt he had to shorten them. Then it was a few hits interspersed with unrecognizable rock numbers. I guess I'm not a 'complete' fan of Ferry but I was bored by this phase in his musical life. There was a lot of focus on the various musicians and much less on him, probably because he's aged and his voice isn't as strong. The lyrics were hard to understand. The instruments sounded much louder than his voice but perhaps it was the fault of the acoustics of the venue or the sound engineers. I enjoyed his biggest hits and he still has a lot of energy but I'm not sure I'd bother next time - the recorded versions are just good, if not better. The Masonic is terrible as a concert venue. No A/C to speak of, chairs brought in from who knows where. Badly numbered floor sections that made it hard to find the right seats. Ushers were more concerned with telling people off for taking photos (without flash!) than stopping some idiots from smoking pot. Concert organizers have to get with the program and realize that people will take photos at these events no matter what. I think it's part of the experience and that's what we're paying for.

I have seen Bryan Ferry solo about 5 times. I saw Roxy Music at least 5 times going back 40 years. Bryan has never been better than the show I just saw. The musicianship, the arrangements, the staging and the lighting were incredible. I liked Bryan's tour a few years ago, but this one seems to be on a different level. It equaled his performance that I saw for his Mamouna tour (at I think The Wiltern in LA) over 20 years ago that has been one of my favorite concerts of all time. The venue was also outstanding. We were in the second to last row of the balcony. The sound and view lines were perfect and we were actually pretty close to the stage.

Bryan Ferry put on a phenomenal show: he had lots of energy, looked great, the band was great and he played for a long time. The SF Masonic is wonderful, because you have a great view no matter where you sit.

Bryan Ferry showed that he can still put on an A+ concert by rolling through Roxy hits and some excellent covers. The guy was timeless and ageless as ripped through 2 plus hours of great music. The band was equally tight.

It was great seeing Bryan Ferry at the Masonic. In a smaller venue like this, all the seats are good. I loved the bar & freedom to take drinks to our seats. Bryan Ferry sounded good as ever and his music was sexy, romantic as I remember. We got up to dance by the rear walls and no one asked us to sit. I like the Masonic. I'll attend shows there again.

What a great show. I had not seen him since the Roxy Reunion in 2001 and it was a show for the ages. I flew to San Francisco from Dallas to see the show and it was well worth the trip. Bryan - please stop boycotting the southern US. You have fans there as well!!!

This was one of the best shows I've seen in a long time! I've seen Brian Ferry a few times over the year and I don't remember being this enthralled. The show was at the Fox which is a classic venue in Detroit, and I had no issues with the sound, which I thought was great. He played alot of songs both from Roxy Music and solo stuff. He showcased his entire band, which was highlighted by his sax player, Jorja Chalmers, an amazing violinist, guitars and other excellent performers. Brian sat down and played keyboards also. He played Bete Noire which highlighted the violinist and was simply mesmerizing. He played around 20 songs which was better than alot of shows I've seen lately from much younger bands!!!

Great, great show! Bryan still has the style and grooves that made him a star with Roxy Music. His 1 1/2 hour show featured songs from every part of his career from the 1st Roxy album to his latest solo, "Avonmore". He was in topnotch form as he lead his amazing 10 piece band through all the hits and more. There were a lot of talented musicians up on the stage that night! Hope this wasn't his last tour and that he comes back to the D soon. If you like his music but have never seen him live, you owe it to yourself to check him out. As usual, the Fox Theatre was amazing (I love that place!) and all the staff we came in contact with were friendly and helpful. Great evening, all in all!

Bryan Ferry delivered a fine performance with a ten member group with backup singers, several ace guitarists, bass, drums keyboards, strings, and woodwinds. All the favorite selections from early to late period Roxy Music were represented, along with great selections from the solo years.

Loved seeing Mr Ferry, who has always made the most wonderful music! The band was very good, however sound system was too loud and it could have sounded so much better if it was taken down a notch! Bryans voice was muddled at times due to being overshadowed by the loudness of the band. Loved the slower pieces and select roxy songs ! All in all, good effort and wonderful to see him again! Band members great too !

The sound quality / mix really detracted from the performance and enjoyment of the concert. Three guitars, bass guitar, two keyboards, sax, violin all competed with each other to be heard and had the effect of drowning each other out. The combined mish mash of sound quality plus excessive volume was unneccesary. Could not hear Bryan's voice at all. Overall disappointing. A lot of talent on the stage - sound mix did not do it justice.

A really classy concert with Bryan Ferry and his big band. Although not the most dynamic performer, he's all about style and class, which seemed perfect for a stylish old palace like the Fox. He performed many Roxy Music classics and had a 10 piece band to fill out the sound in a big way. His keyboard and harmonica work were impressive additions to his vocals.

Pros: Ferry's vocals were tight and the band was great, Chalmers on saxophone especially. He moved through the songs without wasting time, not a lot of idle chitchat. Very professional. The encore was 4 songs. Cons: Just way to loud and too much bass (at least for the venue). If they had dialed back the bass a notch or two and perhaps the volume as well, it would have been a much mroe enjoyable show. I was ready to walk out halfway through the show. I thought my cavity fillings would come out.
