Born in 1970 I spent my formative years in the '80s. I never saw Adam and the Ants in concert back then so I was excited to see Adam Ant in Cleveland at HOB. From the opening song he rocked it. He held the crowd the entire time and had an awesome backing band. SO glad I finally saw him. Don't miss this concert!!!

Opening act Glam Skanks was surprisingly good, and Adam Ant was awesome. Drummers were amazing!! Only problem for me was the band was louder than his vocals.

First off I want to emphasize that I'm a huge, but honest, Adam Ant fan. With the exception of 'Dirk Wears White Sox', I have every studio album he ever recorded including the drum machine backed 'Manners & Physique'. The second I heard Adam Ant's music as a teen in 1981, I was drawn to the incredible Burundi drum beats, the guitar work and raw edge of the lyrics and vocals. I first saw him in 1983 right after 'Friend Or Foe' came out, at Adam Ant's height of popularity. That was most incredible show I had ever seen up to that point. The drummers were in perfect sync, the horn section was incredible and his stage prescence was magnetic. Fast forward 30 years. The only artist that I can fairly compare him to in a certain way is David Bowie. Bowie had his 'Ziggy Stardust' persona but morphed it over time to the 'Slim White Duke' and eventually to neoclassicist Bowie. I thought that's where Adam was going when you look at the album covers like 'Strip', 'Vive Le Rock' and 'Wonderful'. Honestly, as I was watching the concert on Friday, I had to keep reminding myself that I wasn't watching Johnny Depp in a scene from 'Pirates Of The Caribbean'. Most of the songs were played way too fast. Rather than the band singing background chants in the classics from 'Kings Of The Wild Frontier' through 'Friend Or Foe', the audience was filling in. The drummers appeared to be playing different things rather than appearing to be in sync and songs that were recorded with horns (i.e. 'Desperate But Not Serious') were terribly missed. I'd rather have seen a keybord player playing the missing horns on a synthesizer, after all keyboards today can sound like anything you want them to, than seeing some female singer who seemed to do more gyrating than singing. I feel that if Marco Pirroni, who always seemed to be Adam's musical advisor and friend, was part of this tour he'd set Adam's band right. Yes, as I said, I'm a huge Adam Ant fan and I know a lot about his music and him. I feel that us hardcore devotees from the 80's will leave the concert feeling empty like I did. I've seen Paul McCartney several times and he gives you exactly what you expect each time, and you know what, he's got the same number of musicians on stage as Adam. I have a certain philosophy; either do it right or don't do it at all.

though the tickets stated the show starts at 8pm the opening band didnt start until 9pm and Adam didn't start until 10pm. Either way Adam Ant is still amazing after all these years. It made me fall in love with him and the music all over again. He played 29 songs!! He did a great . It was well worth the 1 1/2 hour drive to san diego and the hotel cost.

If you are coming to see Adam remind you how much of a "dandy" he is, you won't be disappointed. He performed the classic and a few new ones. The trashy stripper like back up singer was just annoying.

Adam Ant has been my favorite for 32 yrs!! His long absence was missed, but he came back with a vengeance! He sang his earlier punk stuff which is my favorite. He didn't miss a beat, yes he's older, but he can still command an audience! Making everyone dance and sing ant music for sex people!!!!!

Personally i didn't know anything about Adam Ant. Wife was big fan. i must admit that i was very impressed by show. Very good on stage persona. Played older punk songs ( never a fan of punk but very cool none the less). Wife enjoyed pop era songs and overall was excited to see artist. Some artist just have "it". Rock on Adam Ant!!!

Really great show! For a guy about to turn 58, he still has all the moves and sex appeal as he ever did, and hearing the rarer originals from "Dirk Wears White Sox" as well as the chart toppers like "Strip", "Prince Charming" and "Stand and Deliver" really made for a truly entertaining evening. If you get the chance, you have to see him to believe it...

There's no doubt that in the 80s, Adam Ant ruled the Ant Hill, in fact he ruled the world. After a long period of hibernation, due in part to personal demons, Adam is back. If you want to call it that... Adam still has a huge sway of charisma, and he is engaging in an almost humorous swashbuckling kind of way. The main problem was the music, which seemed to be lacking in production values. The mix was lost in an avalanche of throbbing bass and crashing drums. Adam's music was always either lush, full of varied instrumentation, or simply a driving rocking march. His current touring band is simply too rock and roll. Gone is the brass, keyboards and layered rhythms. In it's place, only guitars, bass and drums. Adam is good, if fact he still borders on greatness. He just needs to recreate the songs that made him, and then the 80s will come "alive" once again.

Wow. Played lots of Dirk WWS stuff, had the dual drummers (the only act I've ever felt actually warranted it), great band, Georgina Baille for eye candy, and really a mad genius at the helm. The crowd bellowing out every chant. Fantastic show.

I've not been to a show like this since I saw The B-52's and Oingo Boingo at the Hollywood Paladium in the early 80's. What a wonderful show, I can't wait until he returns to L.A. Very talented bunch and the Brothers of Brazil are quite unique and very, very entertaining. Adam Ant is quite a character and put on an awesome show.

He really should have never moved away from his traditional drum sound. They really added so much to his unique sound and added a depth to the music that was really lacking with this come back show. He did have 2 drummers, but they still didn't have the same sound. However, his voice is still pretty good. A little rough here and there, but not terrible for a man who is almost 60! His moves are gone though. Came off a little awkward when he tried to move. Still fun. Ok venue too.

If you're a loyal fan of the 80's icon then you know we've been waiting a very long time for this. Not even counting the fact that these shows were rescheduled from almost this time last year! But worth the wait it was and as been proven time and time again, Adam Ant stands AND delivers. This, his second date on the U.S. leg with the Good, the Mad and the Lovely Posse, was as strong as it gets. And it most surely will only get better. While we wait for the official release of his new album; "Adam Ant Is The Blueblack Hussar in Marrying The Gunner's Daughter," rest assured that this set list will leave most fans completely satisfied and sweaty with glee. He manages to tap into, not only the beloved, but also a smattering of B-sides and rarities never before heard live on stage by many. it is 2 hours of non stop chanting, yelling, yodeling and bouncing, with one new tune and at least one cover thrown in for good measure. I said this in the 90's and so i'll say it again; I hope Adam Ant will maintain his rightful place in the pantheon of new romantic adventure rock and keep us entertained for years to come. He was missed and hopefully (again) knows how much.

I had a great time at Adams' show. He played the old faves like strip and good two shoes. Also new tunes as well. Still had a fun stage presents. What he lack-which wasn't much-his band more than made up for-The good, the mad, and the lovely posse. The swag was great because he's one of the few performers out there that sell programs! A staple for any concert in the 80's! A good history was found in there along with new and old photos. Another great thing I love about this concert was the people who attended. Adam Ant was ahead of any rocker today when it came to (embracing the look, maybe unintetously) the steam punk movement minus the brass gogles! Many who might be also be part of the steam punk community, but definately had thier best pirate grab on for the night event. Also there and not to be for gotten are the goths who came to show thier support. It was so hot that day I was sweating so much. I didn't feel like I could dress up much less wear make up. Kudos to thoses who did and/or had air at home/car! I came looking hip 40+ best in my somewhat punk/pirate gere. I had a great time as did everyone else who did attended. I never had the chance to see his shows back in the day lack time and money, but sure glad I was able to on saturday!

Adam is a master entertainer and nothing has changed about that. The only complaint I had was that the concert time wasn't printed. Doors opened at 7 but the opening band didn't start until well after 9 p.m. It was nice that 4th & B does have both seats and General Admission though, so at least we didn't have to stand for two extra hours. The opening band, Brothers of Brazil were great as well, and a good, young complement to Adam. If you love Antmusic, this concert won't let you down. Oh but he does need to get rid of his Jessica Rabbit backup singer, the woman cannot sing! I hope she's at least his girlfriend because otherwise, I see no reason for her other than eye candy. Her voice was nails on a chalkboard.

Adam and his band put on a very entertaining show! His voice was powerful and clear. I've never seen perform before and I gained a new appreciation for his music. I was 13 when I first heard Adam, that was 1980\u2014- I was floored then and WAS BLOWN AWAY as to what I experienced tonight 38 years later at Asbury Park. I did not expect to SEE let alone HEAR the Adam Ant of 1980. I am so so so so glad I talked myself into getting these tickets. I sat in the Orchestra Section, 8 rows from the stage and on the aisle... ADAM, YOU ROCKED IT... Thank you so much for allowing me to relive my youth. I could not believe that a performer I loved when I was a teenager in the early 80's could still be running all over the stage dancing, jumping, spinning and reminding me of all of the hits put out by his band and his solo career. He did not seem at all like a 60something but more of a young performer at the earlier stage of his career.

Within the last few months I've seen 2 shows at the Beacon. I saw Jerry Seinfeld - Stand up comedy and then Adam Ant. For the record, Adam Ant looked great, and he played almost 2 hours. The Beacon theatre was great for the stand up comedy, but absolutely terrible for Adam Ant. We were up on the balcony and couldn't even decipher one song from the other. If you decide to see any music concert, DO NOT go to the Beacon Theatre. Horrible acoustics.

Prince Charming did more than Stand and Deliver. After waiting to see him for 35 years he did not disappoint. The opening act Glam Skanks were really great and got us ready for The King of the Wild Frontier! His energy is amazing and he puts on one helluva show! Non-stop hits and the band was just awesome. He is quite a showman and I would recommend seeing him to those who have not had the chance. I wish their were more dates! Come back soon Adam we miss you already! the sound man must of been sleeping that night. Vocals were drowned out by the guitars. As for the choice of songs, it was obvious that the crowd was there for ant music (advertised as the singles tour) They did perform some of the oldies, but the majority of the show was a non-descript type of punkish rock. not one memorable song, all sounded a like and dull.overall, a disappointing show.

Show opened with Glam Skanks. The all-female group set the mood and were fun to watch. Adam Ant played a super solid show and covered all the hits. Goody Two Shoes, Dog Eat Dog, Friend or Foe, Gotta Be A Sin, Prince Charming, Antmusic, Stand and Deliver. He also played a couple that had never been performed stateside including Young Parisians which he dedicated to all the lovers in the house. Came back out for an encore and closed with Physical. Great show!

Been looking forward to this show for months. Bought our tickets 6 months ago. Traffic snarls (construction) made us get to the venue right as the opening band was playing, so finding a good spot for my children to be able to see was a bit challenging, but we eventually found our spot. There was a pillar partially obstructing our view, but we made it work (which is why I knocked it down a star--Adam Ant gets 5). It's a matter of construction, and I'd rather not have the roof collapse on our heads, but it does make certain positions in the room less desirable than others (so plan ahead for traffic is my lesson here). The show was amazing. Adam looks great and sounds great, and the band ripped through a dizzying set of hits and more obscure b-sides. No horns or cheesy synths here; all the songs had a rock edge to them that kept everybody dancing and singing along. Wish I could see him every night! Opening band Glam Skanks were killer as well, and very graciously autographed our CDs and took pictures. A truly memorable night!

The band only had drums and guitars and no other instruments. Adam did however play a screeching harmonica once. The overall sound was muffled and lacked depth and complexity. The show lacked any visuals: it was just Adam dancing around the stage with stationary band members. It had no displays, projections, props or costumes.

Just GO! Sorry, that was the extent of my review. Yes, there are no horns, you won't miss them live. He has two guitar players + one bass & two drummers + himself on guitar, for a few songs. As to the merchandise issue, the merch has always been cash, as far back as I remember. If you don't have cash, get in touch with Noise Merchants, you can order anything. you'd like. Sorry, just trying to address a few complaints. Everywhere I've seen Adam the sound has been good & the show amazing! Loved Prima Donna as the opening act. Glam Skanks are good on video & are very talented, but the singer comes off as a bit desperate. Maybe just tone of voice to my ears. Adam Ant played at least 27 songs, including B-Sides and songs he has never sang in the U. S. He involved us, his audience and avid fans. My only complaint is that as a V.I.P guest, many of us were told that there would be a meet and greet after the concert. We went to the designated door after the concert and asked if Adam was going to meet us. A supervisor told us, in a very mean way, that the meet and greet was at 8:30 and that we had missed it! We had been in the venue since 6:00 and there was definitely no meet and greet! The opening act was on at that time and we can't find anyone who met him that night. Also, Adam came on stage just before 9:00, so none of the supervisor's information seemed correct. I'm not sure what happened, but all of the V.I.P. guests I talked to are upset that they paid so much money and that this supervisor was so cruel in telling us we had missed a meet and greet. He was not professional and I hope he does not represent the model for the Sound Board at Motor City Casino. The concert was Awesome, though! Antmusic!

I bought a ticket for Adam Ant because he's of my "generation" 80's new wave/post-punk. Doing his classic Ants album "Kings of the Wild Frontiers" plus expected other hits. As it was my birthday, I decided to "treat" myself to the "VIP" package which was to include some "exclusive" merch and early entry. The show itself was great considering Adam's long career and playing with a newer younger band. His vocals were good, not great, but he made up for it with his energy and swagger. As I also work in the concert/event industry, I am familiar with these VIP packages, but have never purchased or received one, so my curiosity was peaked. I did not arrive at 6:30pm for "early entry" which would have meant I'd be in the Fillmore for 3 hours before the headliner went on. I made it in time for the support act Glam Skanks who were lots of fun. Punk grrrl LA glam rock. Finding the VIP merch pickup table, I received a t-shirt, tote bag, a lanyard and some buttons. All of the items have the same design with "VIP Guest" printed in bold block letters on the bag, the lanyard, the buttons and the shirt. Quite honestly, for and $86 upcharge from the GA ticket, it's pretty disappointing. I would rather have the merch without the silly "VIP Guest" writing on it and just leave it simple with the artist logo. The official merch for sale was much nicer, better quality and didn't scream "I paid a bunch of money for a dorky looking cheap shirt and bag." Live and learn, but I will never purchase a VIP package like this again.

Adam Ant still has it. He continues to amaze with his theatrics and vocal stylings. I was a shade disappointed with his band though. What I love about old Adam Ant was the undeniable poppy-ness. His current band's style is more dirty rock, which some may love, but I miss the clean sharpness of the 80's sound. Less grunge, more flash, I say. He's macho-ed up his image--the ambiguous sexuality is gone, and I kinda miss it.

Took family & friends to see Adam Ant and opening act Prima Donna at the Old National Centre in Indianapolis(formerly Murat Shrine) on Friday Aug 30th. The AntMan didn't disappoint playing a spirited 2 hour set peppered with 80's hits along with material from his new album. Only disappointment was that crowd was small, perhaps 200 people in attendance. Whatta show as Adam and his band kept the house rockin', wish him the best on his comeback tour. Check out Cool Zombie and Vince Taylor from his new album. Ant is a top notch live performer and brought his "A" game. We paid the extra $10 for VIP seats so that we had a table and chairs to sit at. This was our first visit to the Old National Centre. Opening act Prima Donna was a pleasant surprise, excellent.

I've loved Adam Ant since the 80's and I am so lucky to have finally seen him perform in concert. Adam still has it and I screamed like a teenager! He still has that sexy pirate dandy highwayman Native American thing going. Get the VIP tickets if you can. Music was awesome!!! Show was fantastic!!! Love you Adam!

Adam Ant will forever hold a special place in my heart. He played so many songs and a 4 song encore. Brought back great memories of shows past. I am so thankful he's touring again. And a shout out to the band ... only 4 pieces but they sounded great and LOVE the still pounding double drums.

Our entire group of 40 somethings enjoyed the show tremendously. Surveying the crowd, we weren't alone! The set consisted of unforgettable nostalgic songs and great new material. 2 hours of bliss.

Adam Ant and the Good the Mad and the Lovely were fantastic! They sounded great, could hear excellent guitar work, and the two drum kids to emphasize all the tribal rhythms in some of his songs were a great touch. Adam sounded and looked amazing and looked like he had fun. I had a great time and would love to see him again! He played a ton of old stuff and some of his new stuff which is great too, I bought his new CD already!

My living room 1980 watching Top of the Pops asking Mum to please go out and buy me Adam and the Ants album for my birthay. Seeing him live at the Grove 2013 was just as awesome as the first time I saw him on television!

Adam was AMAZING! Not a biased opinion, he really impressed me, the show was high energy and the duration was way longer than I expected. He still moves around with typical "Ant flair" minus the super high kicks. Voice, yodel type screams and R rolling impeccable! Nice set, good range from old classics like "beat me" to "Wonderful". The only song I personally wish he added to his set is "Beautiful Dream"' other than that, he performed all of my favorites and new songs I've never heard before. BRAVO ADAM BRAVO!

Adam Ant and his new band were great! He still has the same showmanship, charisma, and incredible talent that he did 15, 25, 30 years ago...he was so amazing. He played one song off the new album, I can't wait for it to come out and for him to tour again. What an unforgettable experience!

Adam Ant did not disappoint. He is every bit as energetic as he was in the 80s. I have not seen him in concert since I was 12 years old, and have been yearning to see him again since. His music, videos, style and performance have always been nothing short of unique, original, and inspiring. I can't imagine my youth without his influence. I thought finally seeing him would leave me feeling fulfilled, but I already yearn to see him again! BEST SHOW EVER! He played all the classics and more.

Adam Ant at 58 could knock 95% of today's younger performers clear off a stage. Although the venue was a little strange (The Cubby Bear), the energy of the crowd couldn't have been any more intense. Adam tackled every song from all parts of his career like it was his first time, & didn't shy away from the pop stuff. I, like a lot of the crowd, were probably too young to see Adam in his heyday, so to have the opportunity now was more than a treat, it was a total dream come true. I have been to hundreds of shows in my life, but this one just made my top 5!

Had a great range of songs from the early days up until the latest..... Wish I could see him again.... If it was a several night tour locally I would definately have gone everyday :-)

The show was amazing! At first I was standing behind several tall people (I'm short), but eventually people shifted and I could see well enough. Adam was just as energetic as ever! He did an incredible set list mixing earliest releases with newer songs as well as more obscure songs and it was ideal! Everyone rocked out, sang along and the place was filled with Antmusic!! Highlight was meeting Adam Ant!!! Squeeee!

I may be a tad biased because AA is my favorite living being who I am not related to, however he and his band were truly "PRO." The first (and last) time I had seen him was in 1985 at Radio City Music Hall during the Vive le Rock tour. I was FOURTEEN. So while I was over the moon that I was seeing him again finally after 27 years, I was a little concerned that it might be a cheesy 80s nostalgia fest. It was NOT. He played old Ants punk songs as well as his more "pop"ular solo tunes. He put everything into it and you could tell the whole band had seriously prepared. And TWO DRUMMERS - old school ants-style: Brillant notion. They sounded and looked great. I am so happy that I finally got to be in Mr. Goddard's presence once again.

This was my 3rd time seeing Adam, the other 2 times were in the 80's. I have to say this was my favorite performance for sure!! The sound quality was great and both Adam and the band were spot on the entire time. The set list weighed heavily towards earlier stuff which was very exciting for die hard fans who had not had the chance to see these songs performed live previously. Lots of great b-sides were in there too. The crowd was totally energized and enthusiastic which created a great atmosphere and though the set was over 2 hours long, the time flew by in the blink of an eye. I found myself not wanting it to end. For those of us lucky enough to attend the meet and greet afterwards, Adam was extremely gracious and kind. He took the time to make each guest feel welcome without rushing it. The folks running it did a good job organizing everything. I would do it over again in a heartbeat. The entire night was a blast!!!! Hope he tours the US again after the album is released.

This show was not what I expected. I was blown away when he started playing from his pre-punk days. As popular as Goody Two Shoes was in the 80's, he was very popular before then in his beginnings. Adam and the Ants rocked and he brought all that back with this performance. He even said during the show that night that Wonderful has his first attempt at a love song and his last. I hate that album but he made up for it with his hardcore guitar riffs and really great music. Two drummers on stage really brought out his original sound from way back. The one song he played from his new album out in January was better than I expected. With strong memorable guitar play and hard sound he went back to his roots of punk and piracy. And he is the original Punk Rock Pirate before they became Johnny Depp trendy. I would def see him again.

Adam Ant has still got it. His voice is in great shape and can hit all the high notes that are signatures in some of his songs. Die hard fans like me, were treated with songs from Dirk Wears White Sox and B-sides. All the hits were performed as well. He has a new album coming out in January. Adam played 1 song from it called Johnny Vincent. A sound similar to the Friend or For/Strip era. If you missed this show, get your ass the Ventura Theater or the Galaxy in October.

Adam Ant (SG) looks and sounds great! I've been a fan of his music since I was a pre-teen and he didn't disappoint. I often feel like a lot of the old timers need to hang up their hats (no pun), but not Adam Ant. My best friend I decided we'd love to see the rest of the tour (if, say, we lived in a parallel universe in which we didn't have familial and financial constraints). Adam's backing band is fantastic, too! The whole thing, beginning to end, was solid. I'm still on a high, five days later. As as aside, it's so strange and tragic that his band leader and guitarist, Tom Edwards, died the day after we saw them play the Boston show. May he rest in peace. Condolences to his band, family, friends, and fans. :(

I was never a big fan when the Ants First came out, I thought that the band was just another over hyped English band from across the pond, so I had low expextations going to the concert. I must say I was suprized of how decent the concert was.The concert was about Two hours long, and I was familiar with a lot more songs than I could recall. The band played with Two drummers, and with very little useless chatter, between songs, gave the fans what they wanted, a fun, highly entertaining show. The sound was good, the song selection, what you expected, a good way to spend a few hours a January night.

Was a huge fan back in the day, but had not seen him since 1985. First impressions were: He looks great, sounds great and is still dancing around the stage; I saw a lot of signature moves that I remember from the 80s. The show opened with the album played in its entirety, in order too. The band was fantastic. It was great to hear some of the tracks live for the first time - this album is meant to be heard live! It was brilliant! The rest of the show involved quite a few tracks from "Dirk" and some of the other hits. I felt that he got winded towards the end and was dropping lyrics; he was inhaling while still singing and losing volume. However, I came home, found "The Prince Charming Revue" on Utube and noted that he was doing this back then too, so I think it is just his singing style. Did a few songs for an encore and I was so happy that he ended with "Physical" - which was the one song I was hoping to hear! Overall a great show! I was so happy to get to see him again. The only negative was that he only had drums and guitars with him. Some of the later stuff sounded odd without keyboard and horns.

Adam was in top form; energetic and entertaining as always. The audience was highly engaged as he belted out not only the KOTWF album, but faves from other periods. I never would have guessed that this would be Tom Edwards last performance ever as I watched him attack each song that night with such wild abandon. Adam and his posse definitely delivered.

Adam did not disappoint. Unlike say, Rick Springfield who showed up with a few acoustic guitars and a stool to sit on... Adam acts like its 1984 - he jumps, poses, gazes, and really got the audience into his performance - and it was just that - not just music and singing (which were great) but he is himself the performance. He is entrancing!

Saw Adam Ant at the Flashback Jack show on 9/21/13 at the Honda Center in Anaheim, CA. I enjoyed his music back when it came on the radio, but not that big of a fan. Have to say after seeing the concert, I was blown away. I really enjoyed the performance and the music. He did a great perfromance and could sing as good as he sounds on the albums/CDs. Only down side was he didn't sing "Wonderful".

Despite a long layoff from the concert circuit, Adam still puts on a great show. This is the second time seeing him, the other being last Sept. at the Cubby Bear in Chicago. The Old National/Murat Center is a terrific small venue to see a show, and Adam did not disappoint. Mixing in new stuff with the old hits, (and a lot of non-US releases) Adam and his new band (including 2 drummers!) have good energy and keep you moving through most of the set. I thought this show was better than the first trip through the states. Highly recommended if your an Ant-fan.
