I had been to the original fuerZa Bruta show 3 times and couldn't wait to see the current version once I heard that they had made some changes. Although I enjoyed the original show a bit more than this one, Paul Oakenfold was a guest DJ and that made my night unforgettable.

Recommended by family members who saw this in New York. The performance was entertaining and so very different from anything we had seen before. The energy is amazing. Expect it to only get better as they continue to perform in Chicago. The crowd seemed so awed that they did not know how to react. My advise...go...be very casual...and be very ready to participate...dance...jump...get into it!

Fuerza Bruta was an unbelievable show. Very interesting to to try and interpret. The cast members seemed to have a lot of fun on stage. Techno music, dancing, definitely for the open-minded. You do have to stand for an hour, so audience members should plan accordingly :)

This is a truly unforgettable production! The technological wizardry of a mylar pool of water suspended above your head and then moving slowly downward to allow you to interact with the performers is utterly amazing. The play of light and water patterns is gorgeous...bodies sliding across the pool in a spray of water bubbles is delightfully childlike and fanciful. Women looking like butterflies bouncing off the glittering curtains...the movable platforms with high energy dancers kept the audience changing direction and moving together as a group...the stairs that led to nowhere but an exciting aerial flight....the pounding rhythms that resonate in your gut and can't stop you from wanting to move with the performers....a totally incredible theatrical experience! And just to be on the stage of the auditorium theater and watch the thousands of little globes glow at the end of the show is worth the price of the ticket! Buy a ticket now! Aprilsong

I have never seen a show so fascinating or surreal. It was like an art installation that was in constant motion, moving the audience around it, beaneath it , into it. The music was intense, the atmosphere very club-like with fog machines, color and stobe lights and a DJ with a powdered wig and an enormous rig-truck horn. There was incredible beauty and sensuality with water ballet/athletic motion. If this sounds interesting to you, this is a "not-to-miss" show.

I read reviews on this show before I purchased tickets so I was somewhat prepared for the unusualness of the show. I had heard of and seen many advertisements for this show so when I saw that Living Social was offering discounted coupons, I jumped on it as part of my Valentine's Day gift to my boyfriend. Just as other reviewers stated, this show has lots of loud music, lights and special effects, such as water simulating rainfall and high-powered fans blowing powerful air in all directions. There are no seats. Attendees stand the entire time but it's only a 65 minute show. Just be sure to wear comfortable footwear and clothes since you may get wet. I don't want to spoil it for those attending the show soon but it's definitely a show unlike anything you've ever experienced. Just be open-minded, don't go in with too many expectations and you'll have a good time. My boyfriend really enjoyed it!

Fuerza Bruta was high energy at its finest. The actors were dynamic and just uttterly amazing at their craft. I was so infected by the performance and the music that I had to return for more...it was like an adrenaline rush. I enjoyed the "frenzy of the crowd while dancing" that was perpetrated by the beat of the music and the energy of the cast. It was an unforgettable experience.

I loved this performance. It took place on and above the stage, where we were also standing, moving, jumping and dancing along with the performers. It is hard to explain the energy of this show, but I would recommend it to anyone who wants to be amazed and doesn't mind a little wind, mist and paper flying everywhere. Hint: water pours down at the front of the stage at the end of the performance so steer clear if you don't want to get soaked!

This show has no esthetic or artistic value. The cast members are circus actors/performers but where was any acrobatics/magic or anything else interesting? The good things are however that it is short ( was supposed to be 65 min, actually only 55 min), somewhat original in that you have to stand and things are moving from the ceiling down ready to touch your head and that tickets were on sale. If I had to pay full price I would have been furious! Yes, and actors are good looking which makes me to forgive them their devoid of talent performance.

This is the 2nd time I went to see Fuerza Bruta and it was just as much of a sensory overload as it was the first time. There is absolutely no way to sum up this show without seeing it. I can't believe the run in Chicago got cut short. If you missed this show, you missed a once in a lifetime experience. More a Brazilian Carnival Party with Techno Beats than the expected Fuerza Bruta performance. There was only one really choreographed dance act... Also, the pool/suspended basin act was good - but do you have to repeat the same thing three times: Starting at the top, high above the audience... suspending the pool... pulling it back up and again... and again :-( All in all it was a pretty cool experience but there was so much more potential!!!

Overall, the music and little dancing that there was, was awesome. The pulsating beats and energetic DJ made your heart pound, and the confetti explosions were fun, but the spuratic bursts from the mist machines were annoying. The water sequence was hypnotic and fun for the audience as well as the actors...sadly, a lot of the beauty of the show was taken away by someone sticking a camera or camera phone in front of your face. They allow no flash photography at the show and it seemed everyone wanted to either film or take snap shots of every stinking moment, so when you are trying to enjoy a dimly lit piece, you have a hundred lit up iphones blocking your view- your patience will wear thin. So if you do decide to take pictures, PLEASE be courteous to other patrons, because we paid the same $80 for our tickets as you did and I don't want to watch it via your phone. Other than that, the rave atmosphere and jumping around and contagious energy made this a once in a lifetime kind of show. : )

This is my second time seeing Fuerza Bruta. My first time was in New York. Even so, this was, for lack of a better description, an EXPERIENCE. Though there were two segments in the New York show missing from the the Chicago performance, much of the passion and energy that is Fuerza Bruta remained. Too bad it can't stay in Chicago for a little longer.

This performance was unforgettable. I'd pay double to see this again. It's interactive, energetic, complex yet relatable, bonding (for my friends and me) and like nothing I've ever seen before. I had never heard of this event before I was invited by a group of friends the day before we went. I had no clue what to expect. We got there after several drinks (which I'd recommend for those over 21). The music and energy in the theater caused everybody to dance the entire time, I must have burnt at least 2,000 calories! The stunts these people performed were truly unique and you could clearly see how much time and effort they put into the choreography. Bottom line: I couldn't be more satisfied with this event. I'd recommend it to almost anybody (maybe not my grandparents or anyone over 45 since it might be a little loud for them)! It's perfect for a unique date, a group of friends (girls night out, etc), or to bring visitors from out of town to.

Just being on the Auditoreum stage was a great feeling having seen many ballets here. Fuerza Bruta is pretty unique with the action all around you and up close. Never a dull moment and the plash pool with artists performing in it that lowers within touching distance of your hands is amazing as were all the scenes. Cool bar setup in the foyer as well.

It's like Cirque du'Soleil without the talent. I appreciate these are talented dancers, and that was evident in several vignettes, but talented dance for 10 minutes at a time does not a good show make. There was no story, try as I might to assemble one. There was no human relationships between the cast members. There was no reason for most of the choices made barring the fact it would, "look really cool." And it did. As such, I recommend you look at the archive photos and marvel at their ability to create stunning images. But there is no reason to attend. It's not worth the money to marvel at a spectacle you could see in photos. There is not enough of a unique and worthwhile experience to appreciate attending. That being said, if you attend, stand in the center of the stage. It's the only way you won't feel isolated and bored.

The music from the drums and the dancing was very fun. I didn't know what to expect before going but the audience/stage interaction kept the entire show upbeat and dancing! The show started ten minutes late at 19:10 and finished at 20:06, so this is a very brief 56 minutes that you get for your money. Each "scene" is individually clever and exciting for the first couple of minutes, but then begins to pall, typically lasting about 5-10 minutes. This show is worth seeing for the novelty value, but he wow factor is being overstated.

This is a total interactive show with music, dancing & activities that simply mesmerize your senses completely. Who would ever think of a swimming arena with living mermaids that are lowered from the ceiling to a level so close you can actually reach out & touch them? How does it rain indoors? This is simply a magnificent show and worth every penny!

This show was a total waste of time and money. The performers had no skill or if they did, it was not allowed in the theatre. One could complain about the volume (Ear-splitting) or the gratuitous series of events with no connection to the public or each other or any reason for taking place, but how can they spend so much money on technology (hoists, water systems rigging) and do NOTHING interesting with it??

The show was fantastic. The performers, staff and all supporting people work amazingly organized. Although the show is at the same theater for a couple years now (can tell that because I tried to see it in 2013, but didn't make it) is still getting a good (crowded) audience. The show is intense since the beginning and also interesting to not have sitting chairs... The audience is advertised to move around as the goes on. Anyway, not giving a 5 star review because at some moments, I think it turned into a nonsense perform or "acting" if I must say. Also think it may not be suitable for all kind of people.

My girlfriend and I are in our early 20s and we both think this was a waste of time and especially money. Summarizing this very bad experience: you get commanded around a field and watch other people partying and screaming while getting deaf because of the way too loud music. That's it. If you enjoy watching crazy others having fun and doing random, super weird stuff with no story or purpose or whatsoever, this is your show. In the end, you even get totally soacked in the middle of the standing area... We expected something fun with cool interaction. All this play is, is crazy and nothing else. This is my first bad review ever.

This is defiantly a different type of show. No seats/sitting down. As the show is going you are redirected/moving around the floor. Very unique, interesting and worth seeing. No story line, just action and entertainment. Part of the show is done above you, so you are looking up quite a bit. In the end there is some water "raining" so you will get wet. I would recommend going to see this show. There is a bar while waiting for the doors to open to the show room floor, drinks are pricey.

The potential for a great show is there, but it is time, after 10 years, do dig deeper in what could be done: more poetry, more grace, more surprises, better rythms... everything is there, but so superficial, not to mention the running time of 60 minutes... Rethink the show, and make it what it deserves to be. As of now, i would not recommend it.

It was brilliant, incredible, hard to explain. It's a revolutionary idea in theatre. The audience onstage, constantly in the action, moving around the scenery...brilliant. I was constantly present. Not once did I look at my watch. And it was fun. A bit like what raves appear to be on tv. The actors were 100% in their roles. I can't imagine how much training it took for the very physical aspects of the show. I also appreciated the crew among the audience, giving directions. My only wish would be for a more respectful audience. Yes, it's a party, jump up and down and have fun, please. But obey the instructions of the crew. Don't poke the pool. And the flash photography was absurd. It's dangerous to the actors. Don't do it. And please don't decide to text as the lights go down. Everyone can see you. Don't bark like a dog. It makes you look ridiculous. It's meant to be like a club, so do party and have fun, just don't act like a douche.

It was very interactive. All standing viewing, so if you're tall you will have the most advantage. Try to stand in the middle of the stage to get the best action, although the performers were really good with interacting with everyone on the stage. You should be tolerant of flashing lights, loud music, misty water, and crowded places. Have an open mind and you'll have an amazing time!

Too bad this show is closing early because I would recommend it to everyone I know! Fresh, unique, energizing, like being at a nightclub with amazing visuals. See it if you have the chance!!!!

Fuerza Bruta plays out like some choreographed, nighclub mindtrip. You get engaged from the very beginning when you ask to go stand on stage rather than sit in your seat, making you think "this is different" from that point on it engages your body and your mind trying to figure out what exactly is going on, where are you, and why is your heart pumping along with the high energy music. You feel the water, you feel the confetti, you feel the energy, and you feel like jumping up and down with the dancers. You also feel like your underwater and flying at the same time. and when you leave.... you feel like you made a great decision that you had been there.

OK, so we walked into the Auditorium to Lady Gaga blaring and I was afraid my husband and parents were going to walk out. They put in their earplugs that were offered at the door and gamely stayed until the actual show started. Boy, were they glad they did!!! It was 65 minutes of non-stop fun! It's closing soon, so don't miss it.

Fuerza Bruta is not worth the price I paid for the tickets. We were there early as recommended and we ended up having the worst spot on the stage to see anything. The latecomers had the best view. We did not get the full experience at all. Very disappointing.

My mind was blown. From start to finish it was captivating. Loved the interaction between the show and the audience. My best friend and I laughed, danced, stood awe struck, and had one of the best theatre experiences we have ever had. One complaint. It's only about an hour long. (Still worth the full ticket price, but only an hour.) If there were was possibly a way to turn this in to a two hour show, it would probably be my favorite show that I have ever seen. This is a fully engaging show that I seriously was ready for it to start all over again as soon as it finished.

I did not know what to expect before going. The preview video does not really explain the show. It was definitely different from other shows. Similar in it's strangeness like Blue Man (which I did not like). There is really no speaking so you must interpret the show for yourself.

I loved it! The only bad thing I can say about it was that it was not long enough. Its just shy of an hour long, but it's definitely worth it! I'll probably go and see it again before it leaves. I recommend this to anyone who has appreciation for theatre and the arts. I definitely recommend it to clubheads and dance music lovers! You will enjoy this one.

Quite the unusual experience, but VERY entertaining. Thought the 65 minutes flew by, and couldn't get enough of the girls in water. Just wish we were warned in advance that our cameras could get wet, and also that LOTS of confetti could get in our eyes, mouth, etc. That was all a BIG surprise!!

No only do you get wet, and when you leave look like you got into a fight with an exotic dancer (COVERED in glitter), but honestly the only things you see are 1. a guy walking/running on a giant treadmill, 2. girls in underwear diving in water above your head and 3. a bunch of people dancing to techno with glitter falling from the ceiling. Honestly I felt like I was back in Cancun for my freshman year of college...you've seen this show if you've gone on spring break. I got a ticket for $25, but I'm not sure that even was worth it. It didn't even last for an hour (they say 70 minutes, yeah right), but I can't decide if that's good or bad! Bottom line, don't waste your time or cash heading out to see this.
