Fort Rock Festival

Dont bother with VIP unless you need a super close bathroom, a laminite, pointless shaded seating (which is constantly full), and slightly hastier access to beverages and certain foods. i ended up spending the majority of my time right in the crowds with everyone else!. Aside from the Bible-Thumping protesters outside the gates, which were prompty blocked via covering of the gates, which were placed near the back of the event--and therefore the protesters went largely unnoticed, this whole one-day festival was amazing! I knew a decent portion of the bands playing, and each delivered! Slipknot, Godsmack, Papa Roach, In This Moment, Breaking Benjamin...all unforgettable! The Butcher Babies and The Pretty Reckless were awesome, and I even learned of a third female-fronted band known as Lola Black which were absolutely fantastic! Hot, but worth it. Drink water (which I might add, that the bands during the afternoon made a point to remind the crowd to do!).

This concert was amazing. The whole lineup performed with massive amounts of energy.

The bands were awesome but the set up of the stages and screens was not great. The screens blocked the stages. They did a great job moving between bands with no waiting time. Downside was there wasn't any shade provided for general admission seats on a 92 degree sunny Florida day. Kudos to Breaking Benjamin for handing out water to fans and Godsmack for cocktails

Good time to be had...who cant beat a little fun in the sun with a bunch of kickass bands. pretty fun people watching and tons of beer and goood eats too...cant wait til next year, bring it

This was a great event and I enjoyed the many bands that played. I think there should have been more shaded areas and places to sit besides the ground otherwise it was great.

Bands were great, people were very nice, just wish the crowd wouldn't have been such slobs. There was trash all over even though the park had trash and recycle bins everywhere.

Best concert I went to by far ever! Papa Roach and Volbeat were amazing... Girl on Fire was awesome... Great food... Free Monsters and lots of beer!

Great bands,music, and setup. It was extremely hot. Would recommend having this venue at the beginning of the year so it would be a little cooler.

I drove over from Ft. Lauderdale to Ft. Myers to attend this show with my 10 year old daughter, and we had a really great time. Having VIP tickets was the only way to go. This a better selection of food and beer vendors would've been better but all in all it was a good event.

The lineup this year was okay. The female bands were awful, I couldn't wait for them to get off the stage. The venue needs more shaded areas and the water should not cost $4 a bottle. Wish they would change it to a cooler month. Overall I had a great time with friends and family.

The line up was insane but GODSMACK and BUTCHER BABIES stole the show.

Great bands and great venue. Hope to see more bands coming to Fort Myers.

The concert itself was good with a good lineup. However they over sold the VIP section and more importantly the headliner was on the far stage away from the VIP section. So VIP kinda sucked this year.

The overall event was good but the bands were not as impressive this yr as compared to last.. I did like the water hoses in the concerts every now and then especially during the day along with the tents of water mist. I did not like the two stages next to one of another because if you have a good spot in one and a band you want to see plays in the other then you will lose your spot and did not think it was convenient. If they want to do that during the day where the less famous bands are playing that's fine but I hope they change that setting or would like to see the last 3 bands play in the same stage so that you don't have to go back and forth from one stage to another especially the better bands in the end. Other than that the event is awesome and hope they bring more nice bands next yr

Had an amazing time! The talent was INCREDIBLE!!!!! Couldn't have asked for better bands. The weather was brutally hot - nothing you can do about that! Had a blast!

2015 Fort Rock artists were amazing! Specifically Breaking Ben and Pretty Reckless. I purchased VIP tickets has I was not interested in being in a 'mosh' pit or squished in between hundreds of other people in the 90 degree Florida heat. I thought the VIP area which boasted table seating and separate bathrooms would be the place for me. This was NOT the case. The VIP area was tiny and over sold. There was no room to move by midday and people took the chair seating and would carry it around with them so as to not lose their seat. I didn't get to sit down once. And there there maybe 70-100 chairs and like 300 people. To make it worse VIP is situated at the front of one stage in the corner so you can't even see the other stage. It would make more sense to have two VIP areas on either side of the stages so there are two vantage points. This would also help with the overflow of people. Honestly the whole VIP experience was a joke and not worth charging extra for. I was extremely disappointed since I paid more money to be able to utilize the VIP area and it was worse than general admission. TOTAL RIP OFF.

This was our third year going. What a great day. Got in line at 11AM and did not leave till Slip Knot was over. Young Guns were awesome. Got to meet Lola Black and the band . Very nice group. Cant wait till next year!

Event organizers and bands must TOTALLY ELIMINATE MOSH PITS. I was unwillingly caught up in one and my right biceps muscle was severely torn. I get an MRI today and the surgery by the end of the week after the MRI is reviewed.

I swore i would never attend Ft. Rock again after last years crappy staff and horrible set up BUT I sent this year because it was a great line up especially SLIPKNOT. Beer and water lines were mixed together again, making the wait at least 45 minutes. there should be beer tubs and water tubs all over the place so you dont have to wait so long. It was very hot and they provided a tiny shade tent. Most of the crowd was yound and rude with no clue of how to be respectful of other people. By 4pm the ground was covered in puke, rotten food, tons of water bottles and assorted trash. One band had the base up so loud i couldnt hear anything and could only feel my heart vibrating. Nobody took care of the portapotties, they were GROSS by 7pm. Godsmack sounded like background noise. SLIPKNOT stole the show and really rocked the place. I will say that the event staff was much nicer this year and didnt cavity search people entering like last year. So, the only 2 positives were Slipknow was awesome (as usual) and the staff was much nicer. Other thna that, waste of $$$$.

The double stage plan was perfect. we were able to stay in one good spot for the bands we really wanted to be close for and still see the other bands playing from the side. Highlights were definitely Breaking Benjamin and Godsmack.

the bands were great the timing between bands was even better it was one band after another a really great day of music. make sure to bring your sunscreen andDrink plenty of water. I would have gave this review 5 stars if the VIP area was a little better.

What a line up! Still having growing pains as they figure out set ups. We paid for VIP and it was packed. We could not see one stage, there were not nearly enough chairs for everyone, beer was luke warm, we were sardines under the tent. for the extra $100 per ticket we should get a wee more. Maybe entrance to venue into the VIP, cold beer, seats, view of both stages.

Great venue, great weather and just plain ole' kick-ass bands! The set-up was excellent with the side-by-side stages, with very little waiting between bands. Each set was energy-filled and the crowd, albeit some idiots who did a poor job of moshing, was pretty good and free to move closer to stage if wanted to. Just an awesome day!!

My first time in over 8 years going to a Rock Festival. This was the first time I was able to see many of my favorite bands. It was also the first time I was able to see Slipknot in over a decade. Man, did they have the same through the roof energy that had over ten years ago. That was such an awesome performance to cap what was an unforgettable night. Motionless in White, who I was never really big on, won me over as a new fan. StarSet was really good as well. Only complaint is the VIP section was to the right of the South Stage and Slipknot, of course, performed on the North Stage. There should either be two VIP sections, and make the tickets more exclusive, or in a different spot so you don't have to lose your good seat in VIP for a crappy one when you move back and forth. First world problems, I know, but still that was the only thing that bugged me. Other than that I am already planning on making this a yearly thing with my fiancé! I forgot how many dang hits Breaking Benjamin had! Their set list provided the boost for the rest of the night!!

Had a great time at Fort Rock. The band lineup had something for everyone. The side by side stages allowed for quick and easy transition between bands. Have to be careful and pace yourself if staying for most of the day as it gets hot and crowded. You have to stay hydrated with water (not just the alcohol that's available). Be sure to sit down and rest when possible as my back was killing after standing for 8 hours straight. Bring lots of cash as most things are cash only and expensive, starting with the parking. Merchandise tent has lots of items and it grows as the day wears on since the bands drop off their items throughout the day. You can hear everything well. The stage action is shot live onto screens towards the back section so all can see if too far back in the crowd. We'll be back for next yr's!

Great lineup and the coordination of both stages was amazing!

After only being there just long enough to get my 21 and up wristband my best friend who had not been drinking at all collapsed. He has a history of this so i was very concerned. He was takin to the medical tent which was outside the event. Naturally i had to go make sure he was ok. He was feeling better but still decided to go to the hospital for a check up due to his history. His girlfriend took him while my wife and i decided to go see some of the show. We were not aloud to re enter. When we tried to explain our situation the employees of the event only shrugged us off as if we were lying and did not care at all what we said. When we tried to get help from one of the medics to verify that we were not lying they also did not care to help us. Everyone working at the gate was so ignorant and rude. I was very dissapointed to have spent so much money to go to be treated so poorly and not even be able to enjoy one song. Refunds should be given but im sure with how poorly everyone treated us at the show nothing will come of this.

Slipknot was the main reason we were given these tickets as a gift. They had no great pyrotechnics like at Tampa concert and since they are coming out with a lot of new music seeing them in concert may mean hearing all the older songs one last time. The advantages of VIP tickets were not much other than okay seats and lanyards no $$ were worth paying for these tickets at a Ft. Myers venue not like the rest of the state. This concert is good by Ft. Myers standards but not great like Tampa that these bands also play at. Would I go again, this isn't my First Ft. Rock but it's not getting any better so maybe??

Seeing Slipknot and Godsmack together was a one in lifetime event. Kicked ass all over the stage. Shannon Larkin ' s drum solo was AMAZING

Everything was great and never got out of control!

The lineup was excellent, nice large open venue, and the food choices were awesome. First rock fest that I've been to that had a ton of food trucks with great selections and decent prices. The VIP area was an excellent buy with little lines for food and beer, plenty of bathrooms, and I was standing so close to the stage I could almost touch it. Really had a great time!

This was one of the best fort rocks yet!(Minus the butthurt christians)

I look forward to this even every year. Every year It keeps getting better. I cannot wait to see what they do next year!

Don't get me wrong I love rock music and I loved Fort Rock last year, but this year was not that great. The bands didn't blow me away and in fact I would've been perfectly happy just listening to the CDs instead because I really couldn't understand the music half the time. Water cost $3 a bottle and being as hot as it was I spent $45 just in water. So by the time I was ready to start drinking I didn't even want to because I'd already spent most my money on trying not to die from dehydration. Then there was the food. It was good, but just as outrageously priced as the water. Parking prices were insane. So all in all I was extremely disappointed and did not feel like I got my money worth.

I enjoyed the concert very much!! I was not impressed by the VIP experience. VIP was definitely overbooked. I would like to see them treat VIP the same way that Earthday Birthday does. Cater VIP with food, water and soda and charge appropriately. This way you attain the level you want from VIP and you don't have to overbook. The only other suggestion would be to have VIP on both sides of the stage with more seating.

great lineup of talent. food and drinks priced fairly everything readily available. booths and bathrooms placed where they should be. one of the better shows i have been to. looking forward to next year.

Took my 15 tear old. It was her first concert and she and I were both blown away. Great scheduling of the two stages. We were able to go from stage to stage without any trouble and got to see all bands perform. will definitely go again.

Great lineup, transition between the stages very smooth, plenty of facilities, parking was a nightmare however. Took forever to get into and back out of the parking lot. More than an hour each way.

I hope this happens again next year. We will definitely go! Pros: Lineup and performances were top notch. Plenty of port-a-potties. Set up kept the crowd flowing so it never felt cramped even though the show was sold out. Crowd and staff were great. Cons: Hot as balls ( Florida ) and little shade. Parking was $15 but no where on the website said paid parking or cost and inside it was hit or miss on who paid and who did not even though we were all in the same lot. Like only some people were stopped and asked to pay. ( No signs saying pay to park or price either ). Tents were running out of drinks so you waited in line over 30 minutes for water. ( Again, hot as balls ) and one of the bands announced on stage they would have a signing after their set and never showed up or sent anyone out to let people know they were not coming. People waited for over 2 hours and nothing. I felt bad for them. Including my son for whom it was his favorite band,

First mosh, first festival, awesome experience. Fort Rock!

Gratitude goes to the promoter and all the bands for making it possible for Fans to meet and greet for their favorites! Our son had an insane time, even though his rocker mom & dad were with him! Best concert ever! Thank you All!!!

Otherwise from Las Vegas was the best, they need to be on main stage next year!!!!!

A lot of very awesome bands playing in a local area for a very reasonable price makes for a great time! Food was pricey, but good. Free Monster energy drinks earlier in the day. Meet and greet with every band that played during the day was available for the price of an album!

It.was.amazing. Stone sour,.Papa roach, and 3 doors down killed it. Offspring was okay, all of their songs sounded the same.

Bands were great! In this moment was good, although Maria's sound was off.Godsmack was awesome and slipknot brought the whole place to its feet and put on one of the best shows I've seen in quite a while.

Worth every penny! I will definitely be going next year!

Excellent festival, excellent bands, excellent performances. Overall outstanding event. Rock and metal music are life. So glad to see Breaking Benjamin coming back to live audiences!

Such an awesome event, will definitely go again, just wish VIP had a better view of the North Stage. The South stage setup was amazing, you could walk right up and rock out but the North Stage was almost like sitting in the backrow. The sound check kinda left the music way over there a bit on the soft side and difficult to really get into. Butcher Babies, In This Moment, Motionless in White and Slipknot were amazing, absolutely loved it.

All I can say is I can die now a happy woman!! So may AWESOME bands !!! My top 3 were GOD SMACK, Breaking Benjamin and SLIP KNOT, not to mention,Pretty Wreckless ,,, The show was awesome !!!

The pretty reckless was amazing! So was most of the other bands. Just wish more of the bands could sign stuff

Great lineup with top talent - Godsmack, Breaking Benjamin, Papa Roach to name a few. However, VIP cost $40 more ($118) and SO NOT worth it. Not enough seating, overfull portapots with long lines. General admission had no lines and no bathroom issues. Had to leave VIP area to see ANYTHING on stage. I've paid same money for very similar rock festivals on the other FL coast and they were night and day/far above the VIP experience here.

What a great show - the band line-up was spectacular; and all the bands put on a great show in the heat! Thank you, thank you, thank you for the mister tent and shade tent - it made a big difference this year! Great production guys - see you next year.

This was a great event. My husband, son and I went. We arrived at 5:30PM and heard Pretty Reckless and stayed until Slipknot went on. Godsmack was awesome. I thought they sounded the best. They never disappoint at a show. I stayed behind the screens that were up. I did not want to mosh. Great event. We had a great time.

The venue was good, except there should be more shade trees or more shade tents and mist tents. it is along day in the hot sun. There also should have been snow cone stands or icy stands. water is not cold enough on such a hot day. you need ice to keep cool and keep your thirst quenched. great bands this year, just a very long day. the event was all on time and ran very smoothly.

Enjoyed the bands, especially as the day went on. Breaking Benjamin, Papa Roach and Godsmack all brought the house down. The lines for drinks were steadily long the entire day. I say line for drinks because all drinks, both alcoholic and non alcoholic like water, soda and Gatorade could only be purchased in the "drink line". To me, this was a massive issue as we had to stand in two seperage lines to get a meal. I understand all the alcoholic drinks going through certain lines, but to make everyone who only wanted a bottled water wait in a long line when it was hot as hell out was stupid. The food vendors should have been able to sell non alcoholic drinks. It would have cut down on the alcohol line as well as increase the food vendors lines as they seemed rather empty all day. Our group had about 20 people, with a few under 21. Would have been better for their experience as well!

Lots of great bands and they all performed well! There was plenty of room to roam around and relax. Great venue with a large variety of vendors. All of these aspects made for an awesome experience!

Great concert can't wait for next years. how are they going to top this one

The line up was great and each put on an awesome show. Still need some more shade areas.preferred stages on opposite ends of field/arena area.

We loved this years layout except for that the viewing area for VIP did not feel VIP... the bench seats should have been shaded. There were not enough chairs to go around so a lot of people were arguing and stealing chairs. VIP does not include parking and it should have.

The bands were incredible the grounds were very nice the food beverages everything was plentiful, this is the second year my wife and I went but this year we chose VIP and it was just as chaotic as the normal tickets. Way too many people in VIP it was way over crowded not enough seats could barely walk around in there, they really need to reduce the amount of people allowed in VIP.

Bought vip tickets and it was a total waste of money! The vip section was on the side and you couldn't even see the stages. We left vip and went to the general area so we could be by the stage and actually see the bands play. You could tell they just care about money and not people's experience. Portable restrooms were disgusting even in vip. (No surprise most are) but they could atleast have toilet paper. Heard so many complaints because of it and no one seemed to care. Also when I bought our vip tickets it was a zippo two pack. Was suppose to receive two zippo lighters upon entry to event. Come to find out they "ran out". If you are going to sale a package like that make sure you have enough for the people that paid! I can't complain about the bands because they rocked. Everything else sucked. We won't be back.

The sound was horrible. There is no shade at this site. The taxi access was ridiculous. The cops blocking access to the main road was stupid. Now for the good: No real cop presence inside venue, which was nice. The crowd was wonderful. The vendors were pleasant and well stocked. Overall I would make the trip to Rockkville in Jacksonville. Metro Park is just a much better venue!

was looking forward to seeing Godsmack. Hadn't seen them or Slipknot live before. Long story short, got to Fort Rock in time to see the last 8 bands. Vamps and in this moment we're okay. Motionless in White was surprisingly good. Godsmack put on a great show, but Slipknot was tremendous. Theatric value and music quality was awesome for an outdoor show. Would go again in a second.

The bands were back to back, there was good food. I really liked the lineup for this show. Ive never been to Fort Rock but I just may be back next year. I will not pay for VIP again though. General admission had a way better view and were a lot closer than VIP. VIP was a total waste of money. Very disappointed about that.

Most of the bands, excluding two, were amazing! The only problem I had was the lack of shade tents. There was plenty of space for at least one more than what they had. Everything else was great!

So, standing outside in the beating sun all day was the only negative (I will definitely buy VIP tix next year!). Other than that, I had a blast! All of the bands did a fantastic job and put on an amazing show for us! I am so glad to have been a part of the whole experience. Korn was the best, in my opinion! Loved every minute of it!!!

The concert and performers were great. To my surprise, the concert was in a grass lot next to JetBlue stadium(not in the stadium as thought). The crowds were overwhelming, especially waiting in line for beer or food. Need more vendors or a larger area. Also parking was excessive at $15. Beer and drinks were $8. We spent over $150 for two people just for food and drink. In 9 hours of heat, I was barely buzzed.

It was an awesome experience that i wont forget, got sit so hard in one of the pitts i got air time. A few of the bands only had enough time to play a few songs; but they poured themselves into it. I wish you could of taken a picture with the bands at the signings, but they only had 15 minutes for everyone. Overall though; they experience is one item to be put on each persons bucket list. I will buy tickets first day they come out next year as eell.

Bands were great. Venue lacked a lot of planning. Not enough beverage, food, or overall venders. Parking was terrible. Underestimated turn out and weren't prepared.

It was great. Recommendation: get better parking directors, and get speakers that will play on the other side of the grounds to hear the other bands playing.

Awesome lineup from start to finish. Excellent transition between the two stages. Only thing missing was shade. I'm getting too old to stand in the sun for seven hours. Came specifically to see Skindred who,of course ,were a late scratch from the line up. Nevertheless, all the bands were amazing considering how hot it was for them and the fans

This was the second year for us and Fort Rock. My daughter had a great time with her friends. The music was amazing. We got right up front for Sick Puppies the best band of the day. Cant Wait till next year.

Very well organized and awesome lineup. Loved it! Rob Zombie and FFDP was amazing!

Very good line up this year. Rob Zombie should have never been the headliner. There were so many great bands there that could have taken that spot. Korn was great as usual. The venue did need more places to buy water. They need a beer dude walking around with water and beer. It was way to HOT not to have more water circulation. Overall I felt safe and had a blast.

Fort Rock 2014 was awesome! Korn & Rob Zombie take the cake!!

This was a great concert all day the bands where a awesome line up also made my b-day the best ive had in a long time korn and rob zombie r my fav bands of all times,

The bands weren't bad but there should have been more amenities available like more tents to provide shade and water fountains. Also, a dunk tank or games like that would have added to the excitement.

It was an amazing experience. There are only a few things that could have been better. It was unbelievably hot and the water was terribly expensive. The restrooms were very unkempt and there was hardly any shade. At the end of the night the speakers started to mess up as well. Of all the bands, Five Finger Death Punch had to be my all time favorite bc they interacted with the crowd in a way that most bands do not anymore. Over all, I had a blast and would def recommend this concert to someone.

While it was extremely hot outside, the concert just blew my mind. All of the bands were absolutely fantastic, and the people were amazing too.

Great performances by everyone except for Five Finger Death Punch. They do not have any morals or respect for themselves. Mainly the lead singer.

We brought our two young boys for their first concert experience. Our youngest was able to meet the singer of Five Finger Death Punch and get his autograph!!!!! They had a great time with lots of memories!

It was crazy that they didn't have any chairs there butttt it was badass!

The bands were amazing. The crowd was way lame ... Not a single mosh pit broke out the entire show. I wish I had gone to Jax instead.

The concert as a whole was outstanding and I look forward to making it a yearly event. I would suggest more than one shade tent and LOTS of ice and COLD water be brought in by vendors. Also, sound systems for certain bands needed some adjusting.

Extremely poor planning, not enough toilet paper, lines for water 30 minutes long in 90 degree heat. The bands were good, but it wasn't worth the headache. We left early.

Great music. Sound was good but not great. VIP was a little dissapointing. Awesome event hope you have it next year.

Everything went as smooth as you could expect for an event of this type. Safety and security, vendors, promoters, bands, everyone did a great job. All the bands played on time and performed excellent sets. Good selection of vendors with mostly reasonable prices.

The music and bands were excellent....the event organizers, not so much. They knew the size of the crowd they were expecting since we heard it was sold out so they should have been better prepared. It took almost an hour to get into the parking lot and parked. We missed the first act we wanted to see because of this. We talked to numerous other people who also missed acts because of the traffic backup. The lines didn't end there. All drinks were sold in the same tents. So if you wanted a water or a soda, you had to wait in line with everyone who wanted a beer or hard alcohol. Horrible design! We waited 45 minutes in line to get a couple of bottled waters. It was hotter than blazes outside for the event so we were trying to stay hydrated. We asked the food vendors if we could get a water from them and they said they were only allowed to sell food, not beverages. Another stupid decision. The lines could have been a lot more reasonable if they either allowed food vendors to sell water and soda with the food or if they had separate lines for water and soda at the beverage tents. Fort Rock needs to learn how to park cars in a more efficient way and learn how to separate beverage sales. I have never been at an event where you couldn't get water or soda separate from the beer tent. The only reason I gave this event 3 stars was for the music. I will not attend this event if it comes back next year....it's not worth the frustration.

Great headliners all day on main stage. Five Finger Death Punch, Korn, and Rob Zombie all crushed it. It was extremely hot out but had a great time. The only negative was the parking situation. They had only 1 entrance and traffic was backed up for miles. They need to get a better handle on getting people in. Great show once inside!

An amazing show all the way around, Rob Zombie and Korn was great as expected. However Five Finger Death Punch and Trivium stole the show. Over all the venue was nice wide open with plenty of room to move around. Lack of shade was an issue, there really was no place to get out of the sun even for a minute.
