Cincinnati Rollergirls

Sorry, but I was disappointed. I used to love going to the Roller Derby decades ago and thought my great nieces would enjoy i, too. They did, when there was actual skating going on, which was rare. Most of the time, it was "skating in place."

The derby was fun and reasonably priced. The Star Wars theme was well done and entertaining. The half-time dancers were excellent. Although the sound (speakers) were terrible. We actually had to leave an hour earlier than expected because our ears were hurting so bad. The lower you sit the better off you will be, but it's unavoidable. I would recommend you bring ear plugs.

First time seeing the Roller girls. Brought a friend that also has never experienced this. We both a good time. The dollar hudy beer deal made the visit even that much better. Those girls have to be sore the next day, as much as they fell on that hard concrete. Will certainly go back in the future.

The atmosphere, the fans, the venue..... It's all perfect for the Rollergirls, wish I had gotten season tickets. The more I go the more I like it.

This was our first time to see the Cincinnati Rollergirls in action. It was a fun event to see. We were on the floor near the action. It's a fun and affordable evening activity that is suitable for all ages. If you have never been, take a few minutes to read how the game is played online so that you understand the scoring and strategies.

Star Wars night turned out to be a good night for Cincinnati! Both the Violent Lambs and Black Sheep took control of their matches! Kudos go to Jas Hubbard and Anne Bones for their excellent jams, and a special shout out to Ellie Stab'er for starting a series of jams that let the Evil Twins know they were in Cincinnati's pasture! The last home match is May 30th and I will be there!!!

The Violent Lambs do it again--out skating, out jamming, out scoring the competition! But it was the Black Sheep's Anne Bones who took the night with an incredible jam. Weaving in and out of the French Broads to score points while skating with focus and passion. Way to go!! Getting tickets for May 9th today!

This is the first time I have seen the Rollergirls, and start to finish, what a fun experience! I had to learn the language and the rules, but they are in the program, so I wasn't too far behind the action. Watching both the A and B teams was the best way to learn the sport and the entire crew. I especially like how these women could be living right next door . . . defying the stereotypes of roller derby girls from the past while holding on to some of the traditions. And just knowing there are girls learning the sport makes me smile. Carry on! I cannot wait to see them again.

Having grown up watching the Thunderbirds,i miss the banked track.Was still a great time,local owned sport,local supported sport.Love the Gardens in all it's dated glory,it's nice to go back to the roots of entertainment venues in Cincinnati.

What a fantastic evening. I hadn't been to a roller derby since I was a kid back in the early 50's. Miss the oval, wood, slanted track with the flimsy railing around it though. Still we had a great time, glad to see the girls kept up with strategy and tried to work as a team! All that bumping/body pushing made it exciting as always. Will be back on April 4th for another round............

I've been wanting to go check out the Rollergirls for a year now and finally got the chance, so I got the cheap tickets and went and I had a great time. I didn't know what to expect, but I thought they'd just be racing in circles or something but it involved one person on each team racing the other while the rest of the team tries to block the other team's one person. It was more intense and more fun than I expected. And we got free cow bells! Concessions and alcohol of course are really pricey. $7 for a bud or bud light.... And no credit card readers! Cash only!

It was a lot of fun everyone at the Gardens and all of the Rollergirls were amazing.

This was the more boring, confusing sporting event ever. The most entertaining part was halftime when the kids came out and breakdance. We left right after they were done. Couldnt imagine staying for the second half.

Loved it as a kid now our kids can enjoy it. We enjoy the girls and they are very pleasant after the show.

I never knew such a following surrounded the roller girls in Cincinnati. We tailgated beforehand, drank some beers inside, and learned a crap ton about an easy-to-understand but exciting sport. Great Saturday night... If you like new stuff, give it a try.

My friend and I had a great time. It was great meeting and talking to the girls. One even text me a picture of her xray. She broke both her large and small bone just above her ankle, ouch. And yes, she said once she's healed she'll be back in the game. You go girl, aka nukem!

It amazed me...but watching girls...skate in a circle trying to knock each other out...was a hoot!

The girls had a slow start but it was a great game with a brilliant comeback. The crowd, as always, was high energy and exciting. Definitely a fun sport to watch!

This was my fourth Cincinnati Rollergirls event, and the second time that I brought one of my daughters and her friends. In each case, including the most recent game, they were totally captivated by the unique offering that is women's roller derby. The diverse crowd was also appealing, especially to my teenagers. And, I received mega "props" for choosing such a "cool" and non-traditional sporting event. In other words, it's a winning choice for parents with teenagers.

Went with my Grand daughter she is 15, I had been before years ago in California and told her it was a blast. She spotted the ad on line and text me we went. It was dollar beer nite and I don't drink but the crowd was cool, not like all the drunks at Bengal Games, good family entertainment. We will go again for sure. My girl got a T shirt, that means she dug it!

The event was entertaining but as I had never attended one before and have only seen on televisions, I was disappointed that there were no banked curves, just lines painted on concrete. The National Anthem was awesome.

Awesome game ... awesome night recommend to anyone of all ages.

The event was all it was posted to be and more. Our seating was great (view-wise). The facility was good but needed more or redesignated restrooms. The parking was full before we got there. The was too much designated reserved seating that remained unoccupide through the entire bout.

Great fun for all! Nice family oriented and also a nice time for just a group of friends to enjoy.

What a fun time. The ladies were entertaining to say the least and exciting to watch...

Nice to see strong female athletes for a change, but double header was too long. Also couldn't understand announcer most of the time. Definitely would buy cheaper seats and only watch the varsity team if I go again (but probably won't).

This was so much fun! Although I'd like to see more in the way of half-time entertainment, the Rollergirls themselves put on a great show, the crowd was very diverse and a lot of fun, and is a great activity for people of all kinds! We will definitely keep going to see Rollergirls and will likely invite more people to go with us- it's a fun group event! Please note that the only reason I didn't award 5 stars is because I think they can improve upon the production aspects (e.g., halftime entertainment) of the event!

This was one of the better Cincinnati Rollergirl events I have been to. It's nice to see a decent crowd turn out. Keep supporting the team.

This was my first rollerderby so it took the first match to figure out what was going on. The event as a whole was fun but I did not fall in love with it. It was not as exciting as I thought it would be.

Consider my roller derby cherry popped and I couldn't have wished for a more memorable night. Not a bad seat in the house, entertainment from the minute they let you in the arena, and some serious girl power. The Cincinnati Roller Girls have a fan for life, I will be attending every game I can from here on out. Make plans to go see a game, you won't regret it!

Roller Derby rules! The available facilities were under utilized and the sound was terrible. Did I mention roller derby rules? Production needs work but the team were well worth watching. Thanks for putting on a great event.
