I admit I was a little bit apprehensive before the show. I don't go to too many concerts these days and I was wondering how they would sound and whether Chrissie's voice would still exude that tough sexiness that I fell in love with so many years ago. I needn't have worried. She sounded as good as ever and the band absolutely rocked it! The venue was perfect for them too! Great Show, not to be missed!

BEAUTIFUL SHOW!! chrissie was in excellent voice. just wish i could,ve taken a few snaps, with my camera. i know some folks find the cell phoners annoying, but it's also a sure sign you are loved by your audience that they would like to relive your performance.

The Pretenders were AMAZING!! Between Chrissies' amazing voice, James Walbournes' incredible guitar playing and Martin Chambers' fierce drumming, the show was a dream come true for any hardcore Prentenders fan!! We were treated to songs from the "Alone" album the "Break Up The Concrete" album, Chrissies' solo "Stockholm" album as well as all of the Pretenders classics. The Rails (Kami Thompson and James Walbourne), opened the show and they were absolutely AMAZING!! I'm now a huge fan of The Rails. If you have an opportunity to see either the Pretenders or The Rails, by all means go. You will not be disappointed!!!!

Great concert with lots of energy from the crowd to welcome Chrissie Hynde home to Akron. At 1 hour - 20 minutes it was somewhat on the short side. Maybe at 65 she doesn't have the energy to go a couple hours.

First of all you get to see one of the best rock drummers in Martin Chambers WOW still punching out the beat of Chrissie's guitar licks. These guys are on their game. Band was as tight as I have ever heard them. You just want to give Chrissie a big hug, especially once you find out see Hates Herself. Great show! Hope they return to the Raleigh area.

This is a professional act! Chrissy was flawless and sounded just like she did many years ago. The band was also great and was a faithful reproduction. They played just the right mixture of new stuff and old stuff. In fact I think they hit all the old favorites. DPAC in Durham NC is a great venue as well. Great show!

I didn't realize until seeing the Pretenders live, how great Chrissie Hynde's voice is. It didn't matter whether I was familiar or not with some of the songs she sang. She just made me want to hear more. The band was great! I highly recommend seeing them. They put on a really good show!

Chrissie Hynde's voice is still going strong; hard to believe she is 65 years old. Good to see the remaining original Pretender, Martin Chambers, still on percussion. The show was a great mix of classic well recognized Pretenders dating back to the first 1980 release and new material from Alone. See them if you have the chance

Chrissie Hynde has complete command of the stage and her band, which only Martin Chambers, the drummer, is the only other original member, and put on a show that really rocked! The band was tight and powerful, and Chrissie's voice has lost nothing over the years. A really standout show.

Chryssie's cordless mike was not high enough for us to hear her singing over the music. When she used the good old fashion mike on a cord it was great, but unfortunately she did not use that one enough. What a shame, that should be a given that the sound is mixed well

It doesn't take long at a Chrissy Hynde concert to realize she's still a rocking rebel with a cause. She still looks and sings great and her band was crackerjack, especially the lead guitarist, a young guy who had total command over his instrument and moves. She performed her hits flawlessly and in between songs, she gave some political insight, haha.

As a Pretenders fan I was excited to see the show - Chrissie and the boys did not disappoint Her vocal range was impressive as was her stage presence. Martin killed it on percussion! The smaller venue was perfect - Chrissie felt the energy from this intimate setting and gave her fans a night to remember! If you want to see a real rock band with punk influence do not miss the Pretenders!

Time has done nothing to diminish the quality of a Pretenders show. Chissie's voice is hypnotic on the slow ones and rockin' on the fast ones. She delivers with sass and humor. The band is as tight and as talented as anybody out there.

Great to have the classic sound and fabulous singer/songwriter come to my little home town. The drummer is a beast and the show was fun. We saw them open for Stevie Nicks at BBT in Sunrise, fl. I've been a big fan since around 1979-80 and it is a great thing when in one night you get to see two great acts back to back. Overall the Pretenders rocked. They sounded great and Chrissy was in top form. However, the show was only about an hour and 15 minutes long. There were so many opening acts which cut into the Pretender's stage time. In my opinion The Greek Theater is the best venue in the LA area for a show. However, it has an 11:00p curfew. If the Pretenders eliminated one of their opening acts, it would have allowed them to play longer (which they wanted to do). To summarize, Pretenders were great, venue was great, too many opening acts led to a poor experience.

This was a fantastic show. Chrissie Hynde and the rest of the band were all bringing their A game. Great song selection, mixing hits from the past with awesome new material. We were up close, so it was easy to see how well they were relating to the audience. Vocals were spot on, as was Martin Chambers drumming, and James Walborne's guitar playing was supreme. It was also great that the artist forbade cell phone photo/video taking during the show (except for one brief allowance). Chrissie is still as full of attitude as ever, and downright sexy as well. Definitely recommend seeing them at a venue like 20 Monroe!

The Pretenders brought it at 20 Monroe Live. That s the good news. The rest is not, and it the blame falls on the venue and Live Nation. I ordered tickets, as did the couple next to me, via Live Nation s presale. The seats I was show on the map were in the middle of the front row, stage right, of the mezzanine. But After I bought the tickets, they read obstructed view. There was no warning on the website. A kind security person got someone from the staff to come over to try and fix the problem. 20 Monroe s solution was to offer us the chance to pay MORE money to sit in VIP seats. Again, the four of us didn t were not notified online that our seats would obstruct our view. That s unacceptable.

This show was amazing. Hands down one of the best shows I ve ever attended. The venue was fairly intimate - we were on the floor about 1/3 of the way back. We had a good view and could dance a bit without feeling closed in. Chrissie Hynde can sing like no one else. Her voice is beautiful and she can hit a note without a cue. Hymn to Her gave me goosebumps. The Rails were fantastic too. I ve already checked them out in iTunes and will look for more from them. Amazing talent. Very Good Show. Mix of new and great hits. Most of the new stuff is in the same vein as other classic rock hits and are cool. Except one song about - I hate my self. Hated that one. I am 3 yrs younger than C. H. She still can carry a show like she did 40 yrs ago. The only change is her hair color. Enjoyed this intimate setting better than the recent one at Banker's Life. The band seemed to get into it more also. Just like Boz Skaggs, Michael McDonald, Carlos Santana, You will never be able to top the old Rockers. Why? because for us older patrons, it is a trip down memory lane and for the younger patrons it is a lesson in real music.

Bottom line, everything was great about the show. My only complaint would be the clarity of the singer s voice. Sometimes it was hard to tell what they were singing. I don t know whether it would be considered distortion or that the sound was not loud enough for the singer. I felt this way for the opening act is well. Of course, it could have been where I was sitting which was in the balcony.

The Pretenders were always one of my favorite groups and I had never seen them live. Last time they were in town, I was on vacation. For the first couple of songs, Chrissy's voice could barely be heard. They must have fixed something because it got better. Guitar player was awesome. Of course, I loved seeing Chrissy "rocking out" in her senior years. If you did know how long she's been doing this, you wouldn't have guessed her age. Seating is a little cramped at the Taft theater but it's a great place to see a concert. No bad seats! This one is now checked off my bucket list although I do hope I get another opportunity to see them again!

The Pretenders put on a real rock show at the Murat Theater. I saw Evanescence the night before with a 28 piece orchestra which they were good but it just didn't feel like a rock show. The following night I saw Thirty Seconds to Mars and that certainly was not a rock show but more like a Jared Leto ego fest. The Pretenders didn't need an orchestra to put on a great show or have to ask the crowd to jump, or come on down front and make some noise like Jared Leto. The Pretenders played a great set with a few new songs but enough classics to make everyone happy. The band played two encores and a very short drum solo. No crazy production, back up singers, or dancers on stage; Just a straight forward performance of well written songs featuring guitars, keys, and drums all played live. Chrissy Heid's banter between songs was appropriate and insightful; No radical political views. I stood in the back row of the balcony (which is really a great vantage point) and the crowd was very respectful about not filming the show. Overall, the Pretenders put on a great show ant the Murat is a good venue for that kinda show.

I saw the Pretenders on March 10, my birthday, 2017 in Bossier City LA opening for Stevie Nicks and vowed if I could ever see them headline, I would want to see them again. Travelled from Texas to St. Louis MO for their show at the Peabody Opera House and the show did not disappoint. The only complaint is that the audience was not allowed to take pictures, audio, or video. That's cool, but I think the band could have taken a few minutes after the show and walked from one side of the stage to other and let the fans get a photo with their phones. Besides that, the show was brilliant. Would go see them again in a heartbeat.

I last saw the Pretenders in 1981. I have always been a fan. Chrissy''s voice was the highlight of the night. Other than trying to sell a couple of newer tunes that are a little too introspective, she sounded better then ever. Her lead guitar player was also in fine form. At 66, Chrissie Hynde looks great, sounds great and still knows how to rock. The Pretenders put on an awesome show that featured a blend of classics ( Middle of the Road, City Was Gone, Kid, Brass In Pocket, etc.), deep cuts ( Break Up the Concrete, Cuban Slide, Bad Boys Get Spanked and Thumbelina ) and a handful of numbers from their new album Alone produced by Dan Auerbach. Chrissie was in excellent voice, especially on I ll Stand by You! As for the set list, you can t please everyone and I really missed Message of Love. I like the new album a lot and a number of the live selections worked. That said, I would have cut a few of the new tracks, particularly the dreary I Hate Myself and Death is Not Enough in favor of the awesome Never Be Together and the album single Holy Commotion. Nevertheless it was a great show and the crowd stood for most of it, just as Hynde and band stood out. When it comes to rock royalty Hyde is no pretender...she s the real deal.

I would definitely recommend this show. I'm not a big fan of The Pretenders, this was my first time seeing them live, but I would go again. The show never dragged, but like most there were some highs and lows. One thing for sure, Chrissie Hynde owned the stage. Her voice is strong as ever and her interaction with the audience helps make the show. It doesn't hurt either that she has got to be one of the sexiest 66 year olds on the planet. Martin Chambers was rock solid on drums throughout.

Chrissie's still got it! She was in fine voice with a crack band behind her. Her new lead guitarist was amazing - he also opened the show with his other group, the Rails. Great mix of old and new songs kept the crowd engaged for the whole show.

Awesome show in perhaps the perfect venue. Chrissie still has the voice, looks and attitude to bring the house down.

Very disappointed w/ show. Very few hits sang. No brass in pocket, no I'll stand by you. Concert very short. I payed top dollar for my seat, it wasn't worth it. Chrissy complained about people wanting to take her picture outside in public and at the concert. Well then don't be a rock star!!! The Taft theatre was sooo hot inside everyone was miserable.

The Pretenders rocked the Taft Theatre. The Taft is a smaller venue... my seats were "way back" in Row "V" --- but compared to a large venue -- I felt like I was sitting pretty close. The band was great. Sure it was mostly dishing out the classic Pretenders hits from the 70's/80's -- but that's exactly why I went...and they did not disappoint. They didn't play all of their biggest hits -- but the selection was great --- and the concert was fairly long. I've been to some concerts where it seems like they play for 45 min or so. I occasionally feel like "that's it?" -- Not so with the Pretenders. They rocked on for a good while. Chrissy sounds great. I am so glad I went. Some artists dissapoint when it's almost 40 years after their peak popularity. Not so with the Pretenders. Of course the band has seen many members come and go. It's kept them fresh.

Taft is one of the premier venues in Ohio may be the entire country! The one thing that falls way short is how hot it was. I was in the balcony center 1st row it is hard to boogie with the tight quarters but it didn't stop me. The band played their best songs and returned to the stage 3 times which is amazing due to the temp. It had to be over 100 degrees on the stage with the heat from the lighting. The guitarist James Whitfield killed it! He also played in the warmup band which unfortunately I didn't quite catch their name. As a duo with nothing but 2 12 string and vocals, they filled the room with an amazing sound.

Chrissy amazed me. She looks fantastic and as always, bring out my inner girl rocker. I was obsessed with The Pretenders in the '80s. Every song rocked but I was completely disappointed I didn't hear some of my favorites, especially "Night In My Veins".

Chrissie belted out songs at a feverish pitch that made you think she had somewhere to be afterwards. The concert ended at 9:50 and ended with a one song encore. compared to other shows on the tour this was not up to par. This will be my last Pretenders tour.

Chrissie Hynde really rocked it. She is quite an entertainer, and her band was awesome! Found it a bit controlling that people weren't allowed to use cell phones to take photos or video -- as is common practice at all other rock shows. Also: A bit disappointing that set list didn't include several hits. Still, an enjoyable evening. Lots of fun and smiles.

Great show from the Pretenders, wish it could have been longer, only 1hr 20mins, but great music none the less. Only complaint was the sound balance, Chrissie's voice was drowned out at times by the music.
