It started out hot and humid but storms all around drove down the temp some and created a breeze. The game was very well played and remained close until the end. The fireworks after the game were just incredible. Who knew you could get such a value for your entertainment dollar! Highly recommend. Why spend hundreds for the Colts or Pacers when this is about the best family value around!

The ballpark nights are always the best. For the evening games we always sit on the 3rd base side because you don't get the sun. The weather was beautiful. The monday night $1 Hotdogs, cracker jacks, chips, popcorn, peanuts....makes it so nice to actually do snacks at the ballpark. Our kids are high school and they always enjoy the atmosphere but even for the littler ones it is a great, safe, fun-filled time. I would recommend it to anyone.

Despite the rain and subsequent postponed game, i always love going to Victory Field to see a baseball game! Its a tradition that my daughter and i enjoy and even though the weather conditions were as they were, we still very much enjoyed ourselves and as usual met some really nice people to chat with to pass the time away. We set out in our seats with our ponchos on and laughed and carried on as if it was sun was shining! Its a relaxed atmosphere that typically in my experience brings out the best in people. One of my favorite things to do while in Indy!

Victory Field is the nicest, cleanest, and well laid out AAA ballpark that I have ever been to. July 4th's game was a rain cancelation. We went to the double header on July 5th. We didn't realize that the tickets could be exchanged at any time during the rest of the season. That information would have been useful. But overall we had a good time. P.S. The price of food at the ballpark is outrageous!

Not only was it raining and cold, but whoever was in charge decided not to tell anyone what was going on. As in, my boyfriend and I were sitting in the rain for over an hour before we just got up and left. There were no announcements or anything for that entire time. The ballpark cannot control the rain, but they can inform guests about their decisions ASAP!

My wife and I have made it a tradition to go to Victory field on the 4th. Usually its works out well but the game this year was rained out. We were there for 3 hours before they called it. I have to say it was was just as good of time if not better, playing in the rain with my wife and just talking about whatever. They said we can schedule another game whenever we want. Maybe we'll get lucky and it will rain that day too, or not!

My boyfriend and I bought tickets to the Indians game for July 4th, but unfortunately it got rained out. We called the box office earlier that day to see if the game was still going to be played, and they said the game was going to try and start around 7:30 or 8. We got there to see around 7:15 and waited, in the rain, till around 8:30 when the announcer came on and said the game was postponed. It would have been nice to know earlier if the game was canceled, since the whole day was nothing but rain, we could have made other plans to celebrate the holiday than sitting out in the rain.

It was evident that Mother Nature doesn't like baseball, especially on the 4th of July. But, we went with friends, which was good. There was 6 of us and 4 of us really like baseball and Victory Field in Indy, is an excellent place to go for that. We didn't really lose out on anything even though the game was a rain out, we can still use our tickets for another game when Mother Nature changes her mind. That's life.

Needless to say I'm extremely pissed at the Indians staff. We sat in the rain 2 hours before WE decided to leave the game. The game was scheduled for a 6pm start and even at 8pm there were NO public announcements over the PA system as to what their intentions were for the game. It is to much to ask for to be notified periodically during a rain delay as to what the weather might hold or what the intentions are of those who make the decisions. At one point just as we were about to leave the ground crew came out and removed the stakes holding down the tarp. That was enough for me to convince my wife and kids to stay it out longer as we thought they might be getting ready to attempt to play or that the rain may be moving out. After all I was sitting in the stands with no way of knowing the weather report myself. SO, we sat for another 45 minutes and nothing. By this time my kids were ready to give it up so we did. I think the Indians staff made a very poor decision to keep the awaiting fans in the dark. It will be a long time before I try to take my family to another Indians game if the staff is going to leave their fans sitting in the dark, cold rain!

Sadly, we were rained out! Even though we hung out for two hours waiting for either the rain to stop or the game to be called - the Indians' staff remained upbeat and hopeful to all of the fans. Other than the lack of players taking the field, it was business as usual. We've been to several games and always enjoy our time there. We remain anxious to return for another game in the near future!

They waited too long to call the game. People could have spent time with their families instead of having the kids sit out in the rain! 2 hours? when they knew on the radar that there was NO way they were going to play with the amount of rain coming fro the west. Porr Planning!

While I am a great supporter of Victory Field, the Indians, and Indianapolis, I am sorry to say that communication between Indians and Victory Field Management and the Fans was sadly . . . well, absent on Saturday night. My wife and I attended last night's rain, arriving early, to stake out a spot on the lawn. At 6:00 pm, there was no game and no announcement of delay. We and the folks around us were left wondering what the plan was for waiting out the rain. Eventually, we called the box office, and we were told that they would be able to tell better at 7:30 pm. When I suggested they make that an announcement, they of course said they would mention it, but of course, they did not. I am certain of this because when 7:30 pm came and went, there was still no announcement and when I searched for a person to appraise me of the situation, I asked if people could typically hear the PA system on the lawn, the official reassured me that the PA was audible from the lawn--the PA system simply hadn't been used as of yet that night. I was told a decision on whether to cancel the game would be made at 8:00 pm, and that they would use the PA system for that. At 8:00 pm, no announcement. At 8:10 pm, we left, it being obvious that the officials did not know anything that we did not, they were simply unwilling to take any action to safeguard the trust that the thousands of people still waiting had placed in them. Simply put, there is no reason to leave a ball-field crowd at a sold-out game completely mystified as to what was being planned. Obviously, there is no practical or financial barrier to using the PA system, so I am left with the knowledge that the Management of Victory Field and the Indians simply did not care enough to take that simple step. Again, as a fan, that disappoints me. How will we ever distinguish ourselves as a city if the people responsible for the reputation of our hospitality fail to make any efforts?

This was our first game of baseball since coming to the US from the UK. The atmosphere was friendly and fun and the game was great - especially as the Indians won!! The rules and play were easy to follow (especially having played baseball on Nintendo Wii!) and we had great seats. The only drawback of the whole evening was navigating our way round downtown Indianapolis - it was chaotic, poorly signposted and difficult to find car parking for people unfamilar with the area - come on Indie sort out the signing for events such as these - its not like they are a one off!!

Enjoyed the game, seats were great, right behind home plate. Only distraction was the group next to us, they had (4) people including a person in a wheelchair. They claimed they had no room and ended up leaving the game. Tickets were resold for those seats, seemed like more than once because (2) groups of people showed up. Still enjoyed the game and the fireworks less the distraction from earlier. This has been a tradition with our family for the past few years. It has been some time that we went to an Indian's game. I took my nephews to see Saturday's game. They had a very good time. We will do it again. They really like the blow-up characters, especially the clam. They thought that was the funniest thing ever. Next time, I will select seats closer and behind the dugout (we were behind home plate) as the net was a little distracting for them. They wanted to be more involved with the crowd (i.e. throwing the shirts out in the crowd etc...). It would have been nice to have Rowide more in our crowd. I paid good money for the tickets and not a lot of action behind home plate. Getting the tickets at will call window worked out perfectly. Thank you.

It was great being at the Indian's game. I love it there. However, so many people walking up and down taking in their sit not watching the game just talking we missed a lot. There is a large Monitor in right field sometimes they how the game there mostly just stats. If the game was always playing when the ball is being hit and runners running you could at least enjoy the game. We had several groups with children and two groups that were drinking that kept standing and moving around. Really inconsiderate, everyone around thought so. When we asked them to sit the just ignored us. Then when they were leaving we ask again and they said were we in you way and we all said the whole game. Well why didn't you day something and we all said we did.... So we enjoyed half of the last inning. Yes I'll be back maybe even this year if money prevails, but just thought if you put that monitor to use to show the game we would all be happier. :) God bless.

This was a very hot not in Indiana....the game started at 7pm which was good. We had a breeze coming in and we all welcomed it. Our seats were behind home plate so the view was excellant. In fact I have had seats in several different places at Victoty Field and have never had a bad seat. My kids decided although the seat were great, they would rather sit outside the safety net. They wanted to have a better chance at a foul ball or a free t-shirt. So we'll be back! My only complaint was the score board. It was not visable for most of the game from our seats because of the sun. :(

The Indians baseball game was very good! I went with three other people (two of them children~ages 13 & 11)...and they both had a good time as well. Good family fun! We went on the promo night that there were some items on the menu that were $1 and that made the outing more affordable! Very good time, just if you go on the weekend

My brother & I took our whole family (there were 7 of us) to this game for Father's Day 2010. We all had a blast. We got there a little early & had fun playing a few mini-games. On the way to our seats we all had that traditional ballpark hot dog. So good! Our seats were behind home plate in the upper section, but we could see everything just fine (no need for binoculars). The game lasted about 3 hours & although it was a typical low scoring baseball game the Indians have no problem keeping your interest. They throw lots of t-shirts & softie balls into the crowd. They also play lots of games with the fans. Our families ages range from 16 to 52 & we all had such a great time! This may be what our father gets for Father's Day every year now! Our only complaint was the heat. Since it was an afternoon game we were out in the hottest part of the day (temp around 95 with heat index). Next time we may try an evening game or a game in the cooler part of the season.

My husband and I went and had a blast, but the next game we will get lawn seats so we can bring a cooler, stadium food is kinda expensive.

Victory Field is a very nice looking field, and that it's located downtown makes it even easier to catch a game if I'm in Indy.

We had a blast, but then we always do. Our kids are ages 9-11-15 and we all love the Zooperstars!!! We really enjoyed the "dance off" with other teams "player". Highly recommend an Indians game to anyone with kids for some family fun. Unfortunately, you get drinkers around you, but they are usually contained pretty well.

I've heard many people say that there is no bad seat in Victory Field, and they are right. It is a great baseball stadium. It was pretty cheep too. I purchased $10 tickets and at the end of the night none of us had spent more than $30! On top of it all it was a great game! I want to go again later this season.

my wife and i were thoroughly impressed with our visit to victory field yesterday. being a phillies fan it was a bonus seeing the iron pigs win, of course. the seats were tremendous, sitting in handicapped almost directly behind home plate. the usher was extremely helpful. the food was great. the whole baseball atmosphere was great. what topped it all off was getting a visit from brad morris, welcoming us and making sure we were enjoying ourselves. all in all it was a fantastic experience and we will return.

The game and firework display were great but I was more than just a little disappointed with the facility's ability to accommodate ALL handicapped attendees when the park is sold out. We had to climb upstairs to get to our seats with an 80 something year old man who visibly cannot walk very well let alone climb stairs because the handicapped sections were all already full. Then, we had to sit in seats in direct sunlight for approximately 4 hours with not only my elderly father-in-law but with my 9 month old infant.

Although it was hot, it was still great to be at the game! The kids really enjoyed the small events going on prior to the game-temp tattoos, winning prizes, throwing the fast pitch and getting the rally towels! We'd like to go again.

Victory Field is a really nice AAA ballpark located in downtown Indianapolis. If you are a baseball fan and passing through Indy during baseball season taking in a game at Victory Field is a must.

You can tell that the organization works very hard to make the game an experience for fans. They had something going on between every inning, and kept the crowd engaged. The fireworks after the game were fantastic.

Indians games are always a blast and this was no exception. The fireworks after the game were great, especially since they are so close and the atmosphere and in-game entertainment are always spectacular. One word of caution though, it's better to get seats on the 3rd base side if you wish to avoid the hot sun but that shouldn't detract from the game much.
