Robert Plant and the Sensational Space Shifters

Robert Plant and the Sensational Space Shifters

More than 40 years into his illustrious career, rock legend and former Led Zeppelin frontman Robert Plant is still blowing minds with his band the Sensational Spaceshifters. The group's experimental live shows focus on the best elements of Plant's career, incorporating interstellar electronics and rootsy acoustics to craft otherworldly originals as well as unique reinventions of Led Zeppelin classics like “No Quarter” and “Black Dog”. While he’s updated his sound, the singer still performs with all the same charisma and vocal mastery that made him a superstar. Whether they're throwing it back with Led Zeppelin classic or p.

A besutiful mix of sounds from the old world to the present with a blend of Zepplin hits and Plant s solo hits. Music that cleanses the palette from the present staleness.

Attended the concert at the Shrine in LA with my son. I have been to many, many concerts in my life and I can easily say that Robert Plant and the band's performance enters the top 5 all-time for me. Rock God indeed.

Fom the opening act Grace Potter and the Nocturnals through Robert Plant's encore everything about the evening was fantastic. A mixed sold-out crowd of young and older folks were up on their feet all night long. The Shrine is a great building to see a concert in. Intimate, great art deco and good acoustics.

Robert Plant has dabbled in so many types of music that I did not know what to expect. In short, the show exceeded my expectations. He did justice to the Led Zeppelin catalogue and shined brightly on his solo work. His band was top notch and Robert Plant was every inch the rock god. He has honed every move and his voice was strong with an almost full range. Do yourself a favor and get a ticket.

I really enjoyed the Robert Plant concert! Many Led Zeppelin songs that just rocked Houston. I like many in the crowd that I talked with hope this is setting up a Led Zeppelin or whatever name they choose to use for a Reunion tour. I am going to the Rolling Stones in DC tomorrow because I had never seen Mick and the boys. I hope I can say the same about Robert and the boys. His voice was clean and the music was excellent!!! Thanks Robert for Rocking Houston!

It was a great show. About half the songs were Zeppelin songs and the arrangements were really cool and unique. His voice still sounds great. He can't hit all the high notes from the Zeppelin days but he knows how to compensate for it. We liked the mix of songs and it was a good variety. The Sensational Space Shifters were sensational :). Very talented! The light show was really good as was the sound.

Plant is mesmerizing, charismatic and still has it! Some twists on old songs, but still had LZ feel to many of the songs. Exceeded my expectations! We were GA, standing room- but pretty close, and got a great earful and eyeful of all Plant had to offer. It was on the summer solstice, so in a way had a dreamlike feel to it because it left me with so many warm and fuzzies. Loved this show!

Robert Plant (ageless) ....of course it goes without saying he cant hit the note of of the zep years ...but overall still can Rock the House . The Space Shifters were a very good band and could certainly bring it when needed. The Crowd would have like to sing more Zep tunes , but the original material was very good . I THINK overall ....the Night could have been capped by exiting with STAIRWAY , but it is what it is as they say.

What a great concert !! Robert's band is smooth and tight. No wonder he doesn't want to reunite for Led Zeppelin. He was in great form, spinning, dancing, and all over the stage. His energy wasn't the highlight. Robert Plant sounds youthful again. He sang as good as he did in 1998. Strong, clear vocals, with a range I haven't heard in the last ten or so years. It was a mix of Solo and Led Zeppelin. Misty Mountain Hop was reworked into an Americana style, which confused me at first, the words were familiar, but it was odd to hear. Overall, I would say it was the best performance I have seen in a decade of going to Robert Plant shows. Btw, this was my 45th time seeing Robert Plant, I do like the direction he has taken with music. His new album is brilliant !!

I ve never seen Robert Plant before. I had never gotten to see Led Zeppelin either. So when I saw he was coming to the Bay Area (again) I couldn t miss it! I luckily bought 2 verified fan tixs to the show at The Fox Theater in Oakland. I love his new music! I hadn t listened to it prior to the show, as everything he does is amazing! He sings a couple of Led Zeppelin songs like Misty Mountain Hop which I liked. Stay for the encore, he sings In the Mood and a mix of a couple of Led Zeppelin songs like Whole lotta Love l really enjoyed the music/show, Robert Plant still Rocks!

I've seen Robert Plant a few times now, dating back to his tour with Jimmy Page in 1998. Now 69, the man's vocal power is still undiminished, as is his passion for roots and blues music, which was the spark that got him going as a musician in the first place. Still musically adventurous, Plant isn't at all interested in being a 'human jukebox', content to just stand there and do his greatest hits. Far from it. Casual fans don't seem to like this; they want an all-Led Zeppelin kind of show, but that's just not going to happen. Thankfully, Robert's new music is very good, and a lot of it has some psychedelic Zeppelin-esque overtones, especially the title track from his new album "Carry Fire". There were a few Zep tunes in the mix at this show, none more popular than "Going To California", which was a surprise, because that one (and "Friends") hadn't been in the setlist before this concert at any of the previous dates. Robert and his ace band also powered through "Whole Lotta Love" during the encore, mixing it with a sea chanty, which was interesting. I was hoping for a few more songs from some of his previous solo records, in particular "Big Log", a beautiful song that he had a hit with in 1983, but I'll take what I can get. My nephew came along to this concert with me, and he had never seen Robert before, and was really impressed. As long as you don't walk into the show with expectations of a Led Zeppelin hits revue, you should enjoy it. I know we did.

If you're looking for a led Zeppelin reunion stay away. If you want to see reinterpretations of the music done very well see this show. His band is really great, except the fiddler who I could do without. The highlight for me was babe I'm going to leave you. He sounds as strong as ever during that song. The lowlight is the reworked Misty mountain hop with the fiddler. The best thing is plants new songs sound phenomenal. Keepers in the repertoire. I highly recommend getting out to see him now.

A solid two hour show featuring the new album "Carry Fire", as well as songs from previous albums. Included were several songs from the Led Zepplin days massaged into a style reflecting more where Plant is today rather than replicating the original style & performance. The Chryler Hall venue is beautiful, intimate, and most importantly - acoustically incredible!

We were blown away by the Robert Plant and the Sensational Space Shifters concert. Plant is witty, sharp, and still has the it factor all Superstars somehow possess. I have been very fortunate to see a lot of acts perform music that we now call "Classic Rock", and I wanted to see this legend in rock music too. And I wasn't disappointed! I was impressed with the whole show! I would highly recommend seeing them if they come to your area. Wow! Robert Plant still has the pipes, and the Sensational Space Shifters are an awesome band and they compliment each other perfectly! Of course, Plant did some Zeppelin tunes, but they are done with a familiar but yet very different and unique sound. If you like Led Zeppelin or rock music in general, you won't be disappointed!

Robert and his band were great! The opening band weren't too bad, but didn't have much of a stage performance. And it took too long to set up for Robert. But it was worth the wait. We sat closest to the stage at the top balcony. I could not understand what was said by the performers when they talked. The sound was a bit muffled. Probably because we weren't sitting directly in front of the stage? I don't know. The place was really cool. Has a lot of historical significance. But it was confusing finding our seats. My mom is a bit handicap, so we did have access to an elevator. She said the stairs were managable. But next time, we will get handicap seating on the bottom floor. Anywho, it was great! No regrets!

Love Robert's "newish" cd and so pleased to hear his live performance of several of the songs. Was THRILLED to hear great "rearrangements" of some classic Led Zep songs, as well. With the Santa Barbara Bowl as the setting, it's hard to go wrong, but it's even more amazing when the performance matches the grand location! What could be better than 3rd row off center seats, in a very comfortable outdoor venue on a perfect summer night! Oh yea..Robert Plant and THe Sensational Space Shifters and they were sensational. PLant has';'t lost a beat since I saw him and and his boys, Paige, Jones and Bonham (not Jason) back on their 1st American tour at the Fillmore East. Those of us old enough to remember Bill Graham's wonderful rock palace on the corner of 2nd and 6th Street remember the great and legendary concerts ands sound! Past is the past. Plant has put together a wonderful band of musicians who were able to redefine in a special way the songs. Great, great concert. The Spanish guitar solo opening "Babe I'm Gonna Leave You" got everyone on their feet and no one sat down for the rest of the concert. Just Magnificent. Thank You Robert!

Catching Robert Plant was on my husband's and my bucket lists, so travelling to Atlanta to see him added to our anticipation. Robert Plant was energetic, personable, and did not disappoint. It was clear he still loves what he does, and he's still a master of music and entertainment. We didn't sit down from the moment he hit the stage until after the encore. The venue contributed to the greatness of this show.. My first time there for an event, but I went with friends who had been there before. It was a garden party with great music. Chairs, small tables, ice chests, food, even wagons were welcome which is like nowhere else I've been. Very laid back. There were 2 big screens, so if you settled in far from the stage, you still saw the show. Some great Led Zep songs with different arrangements - quite entertaining. Many songs were shortened, but there's so many good ones, it was fine. Sounded great, too! Hope everyone can see this show in a venue like this.

GF and I went to mainly see The Black Angels open up. Red Rocks is the biggest venue I've seen them play, and they were great. We could've watched them all night. Plant was awesome as well. The new band is solid and they're doing some pretty far-out stuff. A joy to watch. I give 3 stars because of the sound issues that I so often see at Red Rocks. Sure, the place is legendary, and every human being on the planet needs to see a show there, but I think the sound is totally overrated. Still fun as heck though.

I have seen just about every show Robert Plant has done since the early 1980's and this was by far one of the best I have ever experienced! I have learned to expect great support bands, awesome sound, a tight performance and unusual mixes with Plant, but this show surpassed them all. I was not expecting so many incredible remixes of Zep tunes! He usually never does those old songs. The effect was very psychedelic with swirling passages that had samples right off of the old albums, that led into a romping finale much like the original song. So as soon as you got used to the wandering remix and samples and wondered where it would go..there you were with the fantastic familiar ending! I loved it :-) Robert remarked that ,"This is not an REO Speedwagon show!" Indeed...it was a blues-rock that took you to from soaring heights of imagination into a full on rock song as only Plant can do. Robert talked between songs and commented on the altitude. He mentioned that the Hipster looking drummer had just married a gal from Boulder and they had all been in Colorado for a while, including the 4th of July. His vocals were superb. A true master at work! Whew...I want to do it again!

I seen Plant back when he toured with Page,so there was high expectations for this show. I was not disappointed,Robert was in good form, his voice was like it was way back when. A real treat to the sold to capacity crowd at Red Rocks. A mixture of songs with Led Zep classics was a great setlist. As usual Plant did some different versions of some songs, but it did not stray to far from the original. So it was a fantastic show, with a little ray of hope at the end when he said you never know, Hint maybe Zep soon. I can only hope,my fingers are crossed. Ramble on, Ant

Solid show by one of the greatest, and his latest band, all talented folks incl the young drummer who hit every riff just right. Plant's voice shines as always. So grateful to be able to hear him sing songs then entire planet has known and loved for 40+ years, and to share the experience with my guitar-playing son. Plant opened with a Zeppelin tune, and sprinkled them throughout the whole night. His band rocked, his voice is still strong and true, and he performs like a consummate veteran! The show ended with 'It's been a long time (since I rock and rolled)". Last time I saw him, two years ago, he ended the show with "Heartbreaker" and "Living Loving Maid". He always leaves me wanting MORE, louder and harder! But I guess I can't complain. Robert Plant delivers (almost enough to satisfy any Zeppelin fan)!

We had an amazing view of the Golden Gate from where we were sitting on the lawn and the lights of S F were gorgeous only to be heightened by the sounds coming from the great musicians that we were hearing from Grace's band and then Robert and The Incredible Space Shifters (who played their asses off.... really). I've been listening to Robert for 40+ years and was so impressed with his enjoyment of the crowd and his music that he shared so well. I just wish I could have been in Quincy, CA for the 4th and have hope that he returns soon. We all had a great experience and Thank You Mr. Robert Plant!!

To say this concert was Epic is underselling it. It was positively life-altering. Fantastic venue to see such an intimate performer like Plant. He sounded fantastic, and being in the crowd surrounded by like-minded people only added to it. Security was present, but not draconian. It was just......perfect. A perfect night.

This was my 24th time seeing my favorite singer - Robert Anthony Plant :-) He was so good with these guys - back with Justin Adams!!! He didn't have this energy the past 2 tours (Krauss & Band of Joy) - He opened up with "Babe I'm Gonna Leave You" and followed that with songs from LZ and his solo days - First time I saw him was Sept 1983 - 30 years ago........and I can't wait to see him for the 25th time!

Totally enjoyable evening listening to Robert's reworking of several Led Zeppelin favorites and some of his new songs as well. They did a version of "Spoonful" unlike anything I've heard before. It was one of those experiences that you can't get on a studio album that makes attending a live show worth it.

This was a great show...great music and songs and some Led Zepp songs balanced it out. The one thing I realised while watching the videos afterward was that there was an empty side of the stage on the right looking at the stage. The guitarists was good but this place was empty. Even a bit dark also. Then I realised why even in the music the thunder and force that carried his voice was not there...I now understand the chemistry that it was...I loved the Arabic addition and the bass player sang along with Robert in a wonderful way... All in all it was worth it all the way...

Hands down one of the best shows I've seen! The band was amazing and Robert Plant was in full form. They sang some Led Zeppelin songs and the whole crowd went nuts! Get ready for a mystical journey with amazing musicians. What a great show!

Show was amazing! The only thing that would have made it better is if Grace Potter & Robert Plant would have collaborated on a song or two.

Robert Plant and his Sensational Space Shifters rocked the house. The arrangements and infusion of different sounds into not only Led Zeppelin but blues classics from the masters, brought new energy and scope. Simply put, the sound was HUGE. He sounded as good as ever backed by some truly amazing talent. Grace Potter and the Nocturnals opened and had the audience eating from the palm of their hands by set's end. They were scary good!

The show overall was great. But Los Lobos could have played a little longer. Also, I did not know that there was another opening act which I missed.

Typically incredible show by Robert and the Space Shifters. Mixed in more Led Zep than his February show at the Fox Theater too, but unfortunately they barely played 90 minutes including encores. Fox Theater show was about 2 hours, made this one feel abbreviated. I am afraid it was because they added a horrible act, Jim James, between Seth Lakeman's inspired opening. Jim James seemed like a Jack Black bad joke, so awful it was amusing. Greek was its usual good outdoor venue, despite hard seats and lack of concession options. Robert spoiled us in Oakland, but still enjoyed this show tremendously despite length.

Great show at great venue. Nice rearrangements of some old Zeppelin songs and interesting blend of old rock, keltic and northern african styles.

Robert sang better than he has in the last decade. He got his powerful voice back, and never failed to deliver a kick-ass live performance. Sharing the old with the new, it was an experience I will never forget :)

The variety of instruments and the talent of those playing them worked beautifully with the range and power of Robert Plant's voice! Cello, violin, banjo with Plant's voice? Un-freaking-believable! Plant was very personable and funny, "I blame the 70s for that," me too, Robert, me too!!!! Such an amazing range of songs, solos and instrumental combinations!

Had tix to Zep when Bohnam died, waited almost 40 years for this and Plant did not disappoint! His new songs where great and playing the old songs with a twist will go down as one of the greatest concerts I have ever attended!

I never got to see Zepplin! At least I got to see one of them. Robert Plant ROCKED! His band was top shelf and he can still sing with the best of them. The voice of rock was so very personable and looking to truly be enjoying himself. What a show, don't miss it! You'd be sorry!

For a guy who s attended hundreds of Concerts I must say this one was a stellar performance and if I had to rank it, very nearly the top! The crowd was into it with Robert and the Sensational Space Shifters with Seth Lakemen at times were just mesmerizing. I m glad I decided to make this show my 1st Lake Tahoe Outdoor Arena at Harvey s concert. I ll be back in 3 weeks to see Phish and already know that they or the other 7 concerts I ve book for the summer will not hold water to this Robert Plant show!

For what Robert Plant sang he was awesome. I have never seen his new shows. I was hoping for a little more of the Vietnam era songs as seeing him was more of a bucket list thing for me.

Really enjoyed seeing Robert Plant - a true rock legend! Would definitely go see him again. My only disappointment was it seemed like a time-boxed 1 hour program and a little short compared to what we were hoping for...

I watched him perform in 1990 at the shoreline amphitheater in Mountain View CA and have been waiting ever since to see him again. The concert was good and I really enjoyed all of the new stuff he sang, but I REALLY went to hear "All of my love" and "Stair way to heaven". I think he only sang one or 2 older songs which was a bummer. I walked away a little disappointed.

It's still hard for me to believe that this rock legend is still alive. He still sounds very good and close to his peek after all the years. Show was very good. He played a mix of LZ and his own songs. What was really bad though was the garage parking at the casino. We and a few thousand others had to wait AN HOUR before traffic even moved to exit the event garage. Strongly recommend avoiding use of the parking garage and park somewhere else outside.
