I saw Wolfmother for the first time at Lollapalooza in 2006. I hadn t heard of them prior to that, but I loved their modern day Led Zeppelin sound. Even though they were amazing at a large outdoor event, it was good to see them in a smaller venue because it allows you to actually see the artists. Keyboardist/bass player Ian Peres had the most amazing 70s rocker look with his long wavy hair being held down by a headband. Lead singer Andrew Stockdale didn t do much talking during the show, but did comment about wanting to take one of The Fillmore chandeliers with them to make it a part of their show. During a couple of the songs the chandeliers were turned off and on to coincide with the music. Wolfmother released a new album earlier this year titled New Crown . They played several songs from this new album as well as their bigger hits including Woman , Mind s Eye , Vagabond and Joker & the Thief . They sounded just as good as I remembered they did in 2006.

These guys are still awesome. Played for a solid hour and also did an encore. All the songs sound very similar to me, but they all still rock. They're still in their prime.

It was a Monday night, not a regular "night out" for me, but hey, it was Wolfmother. And it was not to be missed. And thank gawd I didn't miss it. These guys blew it out for over 2 hours with a high energy, hard rocking, unforgettable set. The crowd was eating it up, and when they said they had the best fans, you believed them. Andrew was mesmerizing and the band was tight. I would not miss a chance to see these guys and neither should you!

I was very proud that my first concert would be with Wofmother. The energy they had was phenomenal! Each song was as primal as humanly possible. The encore was especially wild! They came back out after playing 'In The Castle' to a cover of 'Wuthering Heights' by Kate Bush in which the crowd seemed to stop the pit and join together. 'Vagabond' was a cosmic journey in itself that was one of my favorites of the night. 'Back Round' kicked ass, obviously. The night ended with 'Joker and The Theif' and most of the Electric Factory was a pit in itself! Everyone was crashing off of each other as Andrew flailed about and Ian jumped onto his keyboard. The night was truly incredible.

These guys might sound great in the studio, but they sound even better live. Take it from someone who doesn't usually enjoy live performances by her favorite artists- if Wolfmother is in town, GO AND SEE THEM.

Show started at 8:50 ( 8:30 was supposed to be the start) two unnessary warm up bands. Wolfmother didn't take the stage untill 10:45 or so .Had to suffer through 2 freaking hours of ho hum music.. Wolfmother was great but REALLY would have liked them to have started at maybe 10:00 at the latest.. By the time they did start we were ready to head home..

awesome show! being an aussie I was torn between thinking i was going just for Wolfmother - but Heartless Bastards rocked at Lollapalooza....and they did it again last night. These two bands playing together fed off each other and absolutely rocked Philly last night - am still on a high!! Bruises on kneecaps from being pushed up against the barrier to prove it!! come back again soon...

well, i bought my tickets about 2 months in advance because i knew for a fact i wanted to see this show. when i actually got the HOB, the atmosphere was set for a complete rock experience. the music kicked ass, although there was a bit of moshing, it never exceeded to a dangerous level. I would recommend this venue or this style event to anyone. Thank You for the experience, and PLEASE bring Wolfmother back next year

I bought tickets and went to this show strictly to see the opening act of thenewno2 and it is their overall impression which was such a disappointment. Their performance on stage was nothing like the slot music of their CD I have in my collection. Where it is both enjoyable and different, the show was basically noise. I tried to overlook my disappointment in the show and decided to try to catch a word with them outside as we left. The drummer, bass and guitar player were very nice and treated the half a dozen fans with some appreciation. Dhani Harrison, however, who I thought I adored, acted like he was superstar, and avoided any contact he could with the fans. For a guy who is not even signed to a label, he has a lot of nerve thinking he will retain any fan base he currently has. I don't intend to waste any more of my time or money on them.

Overall, the show rocked. The lead singer brings a ton of energy! It was also very interesting to see the crowd that showed up - it is quite apparent that Wolfmother appeals to a wide audience as I saw people young and old, men and women all rocking out together. Very cool! One thing I was confused about was the band members look different. I only recognized the lead singer, and the other members looked different than footage I have seen of the original band. Has there been some shakeup in Wolfmother that I was not aware of? Either way, Wolfmother was excellent and I really enjoyed seeing them in this smaller venue of House of Blues rather than an Arena Rock setting. Keep rocking, boys!

I love Wolfmother so there was no doubt they would rock, what surprised me was how awesome The Heartless Bastards and thenewno2 were. Normally I don't like the opening bands but both of them were really good. I'm looking into finding CDs? And then Wolfmother totally kicked ass. Like always.

I walked in expecting a decent show. Instead I received a gift - the honor of watching one of the better rock n roll performances I had ever experienced. The show started the same way it ended - with high energy. Each song was filled with intricate guitar riffs the drove strait through your soul. I'll make every attempt to see their shows any time they are near Dallas in the future

I was not going to this show at all, until I found out that Black Pistol Fire was opening. I bought my ticket on Friday for the Tuesday show as Soon as I found out they were opening.( I never found out why they were added, I don't know what happened to the other band that was suppose to open.) Anyway, Black Pistol Fire is a two piece from Austin, TX for Canada. Back to the night in question. I walked in and to the floor of The Pagent. I think( as I realize I have no idea) that most people there did not know who Black Pistol Fire was. I actually hear one guy ask his friend who was opening, and his friend said "Black Fire Something". The lights went down and out came BPF. They Started the show and Kevin(guitarist and vocals) started playing a nice riff using a slide and Eric(drummer) hammered away at the drums. They then kicked into the opening riff of "Crows Feet". But the end of the song, I think people knew who Black Pistol Fire was. Over the next 50 minutes they had the crowd going. They are absolutely amazing live. They finished to a roar from the crowd. Them I saw something I don't know I had ever seen before. They came back out to collect there equipment and got another huge roar. I am so glad I got to see them live, and hopefully they will come back to St. Louis again soon.

First of the venue (Fox Theatre in Oakland) was perfect for the show. Tickets were General Admission so we were able to push forward to the front without much trouble and be right there in the band's face. When Wolfmother came out the whole crowd went nuts and the mayhem didn't stop until the end!

The event was a lot of fun. I like it when a group seems genuinely interested in being there and that definitely happened with them. There was a lot of stage presence, etc. They played a lot of material from their first album rather than just supporting their new one and that was very pleasing.

To start out the show the Newno2 start off with a powerful performance and ending their set with an extended jam. The Heartless Bastards blew away the entire crowd with a powerhouse performance of hits. Then finally Wolfmother. Andrew Stockdale lead the charge staring out with Dimension into an extended jam. The entire set was a mix of old hits and songs from the new album Cosmic Egg. At the end of the night Wolfmother came out for a three set encore end with Andrew jumping into the crowd and surfing across the fans.

GREAT SHOW. I loved every minute of Wolfmother. I was expecting longer, more trippy, more improvised solos, but there was good balance and nice transitions throughout the show. Andrew Stockdale worked the crowd well. The other 2 bands were OK, but I didn't see most of the first and didn't care for the second much because many of the songs were so similar and the lyrics were not to my taste despite the music being alright.

The wolfmother show is a step back in time. As an elder of rock shows having seen my first concert in 1977, Wolfmother brings me back. The sound at last nights show was superb, loud enough to feel the bass thumping you but not so loud when Mr. Stockdale let out one of his many high notes. The fist pumping devil horn waving crowd was into from the opening notes of Collossal to the close with Joker and the Thief. Crowd surfing was much more in play at this show compared to when I last saw the band in Hartford in 07. The new members of the band were good in that they were pretty much nonexistent. The drummer kept a good beat, the rhythm guitarist was unheard in the soundmix and the bass/organ player played much of the show behind the organ bent over in a bellyache pose that made him unseen to most in audience. On the other hand you did hear him and when he played the organ he was quite animated ala the animal from Sesame Street. Mr Stockdale however was front and center. He looks and acts the part of a rockstar, with the big hair and big grin he is clearly enjoying the attention of his fans, egging them on in all the right spots to clap along and even sing too. The only thing that bothered me a little about the show was that he never acknowledged his bandmates by announcing them by name or even a little attaboy after one of the songs like a hand gesture for the audience to clap. He however had no problem striking the "Jesus" pose hands over head fingers out and waggling for more noise from the crowd. I don't want to sound like I am belittling the band because I do love there music. I think this band fills a niche that has been empty a long time. That of a young, enthusiastic, loud, hard rockin, mystical lyric rock an roll band. I recommend seeing them now before they start playing larger arenas which they will be soon. Also thought Heartless Bastards played a great little set. Very talented group of players. Drummer was superb bass and guitar player great. They did a little trade off with instruments to show there versatility. Lead singers voice was clear and edgy. Nice not knowing any of a bands songs and being impressed. Good luck to them.

I've been to quite a few concerts before, and this one was so very unlike the others. We all anxiously waited through the two openings acts, but all tiredness was gone by the time they took the stage. They didn't hold anything back, opening with Dimension. The crowd jostled in a wild tantrum. For the next 2 hours, we heard every single one of Wolfmothers greatest songs, a perfect medley of their new and old material. I've never heard anyone rock harder. Andrew Stockdale has amazing stage presence. There were no flubs, the songs weren't watered down. Every second was as good as the studio recording if not wildly better. The smorgasbord of audio and visual excitement mixed with the energy of the crowd (and a little light-headedness from singing along) made me realize I didn't know what it was like to have my mind blown until right then. They got into it, and they rocked the house, and I would go to see them once a week if I could (I'm a little too tired/damaged to watch them every day). EPIC.

This was the loudest, most powerful, most painful, and overall best show I've ever attended. The opening bands were great and had some great sound, although much of the crowd was getting antsy before the Heartless Bastards finished. My point of view is that Wolfmother had brought us these bands for our listening pleasure and to pretty much tell us: Hey, we like these guys. So I respected them and I actually really enjoyed both groups. When Wolfmother came out on stage, like most shows at the Electric Factory, the crowd went rabid. I've never heard a fuller sound live than I did at this show. Even the opening bands had impressive sound quality, which is usually saved for the main act. The bass and the drums were enough to cause your chest to cave in. The guitars were just out of this world and everything came together perfectly as if you were listening to a perfectly practiced recording. Of course that live aura was still there and the way they delivered both new and old songs was just unbelievable. Would I see Wolfmother again? I would definitely not give up the chance. This was one of the best experiences of my life.

The first time I heard "thenewno2" I was hooked, so I started looking at tour dates. Shock! They were going to be in Dallas the very next week....I had never heard of "Wolfmother" OR "The Heartless Bastards" . I wanted to see "thenewno2" so much I knew I was going no matter what. I Searched You-Tube for "Wolfmother" and the very first cut I played was "Love Train", then "White Unicorn". I was stunned. They are amazing and they are GREAT LIVE! Reminiscent of Zeppelin, Sabbath, Deep Purple and the more recent White Stripes....then I checked out "The Heartless Bastards" they are described as a Garage Band from Ohio. They may be small town but they play big city! The LIVE SHOW was off the chain!. No kidding! Erika the lead vocalist reminded me of Krissy Hynde , hints of The Black Keys (who I love!!) All bands lyrics are provocative and edgy. I would go see any of these bands again in a second! Glad Ticketmaster had what I was looking for. The Show SOLD OUT a couple of days later. If the tour comes anywhere close to you, don't think, get the tickets. You will not be sorry!

Not that I expected it to be mediocre, but they're not my favorite band. I went because of the venue (Fillmore is always a great place to see any band you have any interest in seeing), and there's so much *bad music out there now, when anything solid comes around, especially at a great venue, I'm game. All that said, the opener was interesting and edgy. And Wolfmother, not to be outdone, ripped off a really nice set. The guitar tone was nice and humbuckery huge, a la Tony Iommi & T Rex. Sound guy did a nice job with balance. Band was energetic. Great time!

Still not sure exactly what happened on Wednesday night - sold out venue, decent opening act Deap Vally (cool presence and a couple memorable songs) and a very powerful show by headliner Wolfmother. It seemed like we were transported back to a time before flashy shows, fancy lights and multi-media displays that typically enhance a show but were certainly not missed tonight at all. Mr. Stockdale and company really know their way around a killer hard rock to metalish song - a bit sloppy at times due to the energy of the show, but it's nice to see a band that just cranks it up and goes for it on every song. Usually when it's time for a bass or drum solo, that's refreshment/bathroom break, but the quick, deft solos were perfect for the night, and the guitar solo really took the crowd to a different level. Speaking of which, this sold out Wednesday night crowd was hitting it hard. Pleasantly surprised that they started off with "Victorious", paving the way for almost 2 hours of less-recognizable but killer songs and jam sessions. It's difficult to adequately describe a Wolfmother show, but they played a lot of old Deep Purple songs before the band took the stage, giving a pretty good indication of the intended atmosphere. I am certain that Mr. Blackmore and company would certainly have approved and then some. Spend the money for Wolfmother tickets, buy the merchandise and support bands that are willing to get out there sans a written set list and give you 2 hours of awesome entertainment...

Would've given a 5-star rating if they'd had played a bit longer. They still managed to play an hour and a half worth of hard rocking music. Andrew sounded great and the drummer was outstanding, bassist pulled double duty with keyboards and he put on a great show himself. Not sure why this band doesn't have a bigger following, a third of the venue was empty sadly.

Tough show to review b/c there were so many problems and I don't know where the fault lies. The drums were constantly being fixed/tinkered with thru the entire show. There was also a guy who kept coming on stage to straighten Andrew's guitar cord. During the last song, Andrew's guitar literally stopped working. It was cutting in and out and then just stopped. There were also many moments where the sound had me covering my ears. The feedback was brutal. Love Wolfmother but that may be the worst show from a production standpoint that I've seen and I'm 45 and have been to hundreds of shows.

I'm a huge Wolfmother fan and I was super excited to see these guys. I sat directly behind the sound board so I could get the best mix and have good visibility. In short, the band is great and they played well. The sound, on the other hand, was awful. The guitar was anemic and didn't cut through at all. The bass didn't fill the room and fill in the mix. The usual mix of drums and vocals stood out and left a void. I heard a number of other fans screaming "more guitar, more guitar" and I couldn't agree more. A three piece band really needs a good mix to fill the room.

I love Wolfmother. Love love love. When they went on hiatus, I wept. Not literally, but figuratively. My soul was sad. THEN I heard a new album and a Vegas date was in the future. All sadness was swept away and replaced with PURE BLISS! The show definitely lived up to my expectations. We had Flea on the drums, 60s Hippie on bass/keys, and Justin in his fro glory on lead. They sounded pitch perfect and hit all the right songs on their three albums. They were engaging and full of energy. Plus, I love me some Aussies. I highly suggest anyone and everyone go see them and be happy.

First time seeing Wolfmother, ready for next time! Singers voice was crystal clear... I hate when the instruments overpower the singers voice- this didn't happen here! And dear Lord, the bassist was badass!

Wolfmother rocked the House of Blues Monday night (May 12) on the third and final stop in Texas during the worldwide tour promoting their new album "New Crown". Opening with "Dimension", guitarist/vocalist Andrew Stockdale felt comfortable in the intimate setting and seemed to connect with each and every patron in the audience, from the reserved seats upstairs to the raucous crowd in front of the stage which often resembled a mosh pit. The band mixed in classics from its debut album like "Woman" and "Apple Tree" with new tunes like "Heavy Weight" and "How Many Times" in a seamless array of music. By the time they wrapped up the nearly two hour show with "Colossal" and encored with "Joker and the Thief", it was clear that Wolfmother came to party...and rock hard.

I couldn't believe that Wolfmother was playing in such a small venue. For the best as it was an intimate show. Loud , powerful, and crystal clear. Stockdale sounded great and is a true showman.

I saw Wolfmother at Mississippi Nights about 7 years ago I believe and they were amazing! I was fortunate enough to see them again on May 6th at The Pageant and once again, they were awesome! Their music has such a different sound and they sound fantastic live! Of course, playing at the best venue in St. Louis (The Pageant) didn't hurt. I would definitely recommend anyone who likes live rock music to go see them!

I have a renewed hope in rock and roll after seeing this band live. Finally a real band that stands out over all the modern crap music on the radio. I made the comment to my group who were equally excited that every young person should see a band like this so they know what real music is. I would see this band another 100 times if I had the chance. Totally kick ass.

I have always liked Wolmother and thought they would be a great band to see perform live. Unfortunately, I didn't think I would ever get the chance when the group initially broke up. When it was announced that the group would tour again under the Wolfmother banner I was very anxious. Not sure what to expect, I was pleasantly surprised! In fact the show was one of the most energetic and engaging I have been to. Andrew Stockdale was absolutely flawless on guitar and vocals. He interacted with the crowd throughout the entire show and made everyone feel like part of the Wolfmother family. Ian Peres on bass was equally amazing and talented. He went back and forth from bass to keys seamlessly and never missed a beat! Drums were tight all night and kept the crowd in an energetic rhythm. Overall, do NOT miss the opportunity to see Wolfmother live. You will not be disappointed. If possible, get there early for good seats. This group will blow you away!

You know that scene in Kill Bill where she claims all the limbs she has cut off as her own? Thats what Wolfmother did to my ears. And sweet merciful crap, Black Pistol Fire was amazing!

This concert was amazing. The venue, Fox Theater in Oakland, CA is beautiful. It has recently been reopened after a huge renovation and it is incredible. The opening acts were pretty good. I really enjoyed Heartless Bastards and hadn't heard them before. Wolfmother was so good. The playlist flowed really well and Andrew Stockdale is a great guitarist with wonderful stage presence. We all had a blast. Thanks!!!

I love these guys' style of music! I normally listen to music from the 60s and 70s so the chances of me seeing those bands ever play again are close to zero. When I discovered Wolfmother, I was completely overjoyed that there was a Heavy Rock band out there with that same sound that I loved today! They put on an AWESOME performance. They totally TORE that stage up! There was crowd surfing, headbanging, and much much more. It was an unforgettable experience. Next time Wolfmother goes on tour again in my area, I will definitely be one of the first to get tickets. Thankyou SO much Wolfmother for the absolutely STUNNING performance! I would love to shake your guys' hands for bringing back excellent Rock. I hope to see you guys soon Thank again!!!

I go to a lot of shows, but I haven't seen an entire crowd that size rock that hard in I don't know how long! It was awesome to see such an intense live set with such a good vibe. It was my first time seeing Wolfmother, so of course that was epic. It was my second time seeing a concert at The Fox, and I've been pleased with the experience both times.

First of all the Fox Theater was amazing!! All redone, very elegant and comfortable. Second, opening act, The Heartless Bastards, were a mix between new and old rock. The lead singer's voice carried and was full of soul. The drummer was insane too!! F*ckin Awesome!!! Third, WOLFMOTHER, all I have to say is if you love rock, you need to see this band. The lead singer, the bass man, the drummer...FANTASTIC. One thing that I love about them is there ability to switch it up in each songs. The Lead Singer's voice was amazing!!!Great Energy and went by waayyyy too fast!!! I am so glad they are together and doing what they love to do. Make Music!!

good show. great music and stage presence. love how singer guy made lots of eye contact with the audience. the sound could have been better... perhaps the sound at the fox? that's the first rock show i've been to there. i was in the front row. the girl next to me was crying for some reason. the singer noticed this in the middle of a song, gave a concerned look at her and made a gesture of wiping his own eye... interesting.

Fantastic show. Incredible venue. This show had it all. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is it actually was too loud?!? Now before you make judgement I am 29 years old not a ol' fart. I have been to tons of concerts but was very disappointed at the volume. I love listening to Wolfmother for the incredible music they play, but the instruments were turned up so loud that when Andrew took a break to address the crowd, the hum from his guitar almost drowned out what he was saying. Also if he the guitar got anywhere near to the microphone there was an explosion of feedback. I love loud concerts and the feeling of the music, but it just sounded like a hot mess. Don't get me wrong though, I would for sure see them again in a heartbeat. AMAZING!!!!

I loved this show!!! All of it. It started off with the band Thenew2 and they were great. A real awesome vibe. And then came Heartless Bastards and I loved them. (I alread bought both their albums today online). Then Wolfmother came on and they just rocked!!!!! Andrew has an amazing sense of the stage and pumping up the audience. I could have listened to them all night! I'd seen them play down at the EpiCenter 2009 in LA this summer and they were amazing then but they were only on for about 45 minutes. It was great to just be able to listen to a concert devoted to just them! If you get a chance, GO SEE WOLFMOTHER!!! They are awesome But beware of the teenyboppers. There were a MILLION teenagers there last night. I'm stoked that WoMo has such a great fan base but it was like being in an episode of 90210. Ick.

Lead singer is amazing, he just needs a decent band...Wolfmother was much better when it was a 3 piece and you could really hear him shine....front of house guy never got his guitar mixed in right and took him half the show to find the kick drum....first time to the Fox Theatre and loved the venue!
