This was an amazing performance. The sound system was superb. Randy Jackson and the band were beyond impressive. The Charlotte Symphony was at its finest. The music, the sound, the lights and the strings made the stage come alive. An unforgettable experience!

What could be more fun. An evening of video game music with people who love video games. The performance was great and it was even more fun to watch the audience. My son (the game dweeb in our family) pointed out all of the handheld computer games being played at intermissions. These guys (and gals) just don't stop.

It was pretty good. I wish the MC/Host would do less self-promoting and let us hear more music. He seemed to think so much of himself that it took away from the show. The musician on the piano was AMAZING!

We have been to Video Games Live once before, in Richmond, and wanted to go again, so my husband and I went to the one in Charlotte. It was about the same as last time, which means lots of fun, excitement, and showmanship. The gamer crowd goes crazy and has a lot of fun, but doesn't get out of hand, so it's the most fun I have out of any event! Tommy Tallerico is a great host and the Charlotte Symphony and chorale were spot-on. There are always contests, competitions, and Tommy is constantly trying to switch things up. This year, the entire audience got to have "meet" the creator of the video game and video game industry, Ralph Bear, via Skype! No complaints to think of, and pretty family friendly. I would go with my adult friends and take my little brothers and sisters as well.

The show was more directed to very avid gamers than the music production that I expected. The majority of crowd was below 18. It was more of a review of old video games on a screen than a music production The young gamers appeared to really enjoyed the show as they were continually screaming out at their favorite game I found this to distract from the experience. The show was a nice reminder of how video games have grown over 40 years but looking at old video games became tiring. Some interesting exerts of the man who started gaming along w some chosen out of audience to participate was fun.

Ive wanted to see Video Games: Live since its first debut several years ago. After seeing it, I was very impressed. Not only did I get to see the Charlotte Symphony, but the show itself was amazing. There were little bits of video and multimedia thrown in throughout the event to show the audience what games music was being played. There was even a Skype interview with the creator of the first video game. All in all, a very good show. I'd highly recommend it. That being said, it was not your typical symphony performance. The crowd, dressed mostly in jeans and T-shirts was encouraged to yell and cheer when their favorite songs were being played.

The Charlotte Symphony and UNCC Chorale performed very well during the small amount of time they were given to perform. We expected a symphony concert, or at the very least, a concert. Half of the event was listening to the creater of VGL talk and watching him pace around the stage. There were two "competitions" where audience members played video games in front of the audience to win prizes. The "light show" advertised on the website was simply stage lights moving around in different colors. Behind the musicians, a huge screen was set up where during some of the musical performances VGL played shots of the video games, but during many of the musical numbers, they showed only slide shows. If you are a die-hard video game fan and are more interested in the video game producers than the actual music, you might like this event.

The show was awesome except we have one major complaint. The show used a main video screen in center of the stage throughout the show. The also has side screens off of the center but were rarely used. This created a problem from our seat location b/c the bass chello players were blocking the main screen and we couldn't see the images half the time. While everybody was laughing we were just sitting there b/c we couldn't see. Had they showed the same footage on the side screens I would be satisfied with my etire experience.

Thank you for bringing the Video Games Live tour to Charlotte. This was an excellent opportunity to introduce young people to the symphony concert. My kids and their close friends had a fanastic night. The event was extremely well recieved by the youthful, rather rowdy audience. Symphonic works need not be stuffy. Rather, there is amazing repertiore in this genre. The chorus and orchestra were big-time gamers for this concert. Bravo! Please consider a return engagement with this tour!

If you have ever played video games you know that the music can be almost if not the best parts of the game. Video games live brings these moments to life. The music is top notch from the VGL team and Charlotte's orchestra and choral team were amazing. The show is for all ages who enjoy games and the music that makes them unforgettable. Even if you are not a gamer you will enjoy the song pieces by top performers. Hopefully Video Games Live will return to NC again!

We were delightfully entertained the entire show and were sad for it to end. The only drawback was the location. I was so sad when I realized it was at Ovens. The whole uptown experience is part of what I was looking forward to. But the show was great. The symphony was amazing. The conductor was great. James Delisco was fabulous.

This was certainly a pleasant surprise. My daughter went to this event because she is a cello player and I wanted to show her that being in the orchestra is more than classical music..it can really be relevant. We are both Michael Jackson fans and love his entire music catalog. We were both surprised and on our feet quite a bit. James Delisco was an awesome talent, who is a great singer in his own right. If there had been a second show we would have purchased tickets that night. Definitely a music lovers treat.

My wife and I were disappointed when we left the show. We thought we were going to hear the symphony perform alone, but what we got was a guy (James Delisco) claiming that he was not impersonating Michael Jackson, but celebrating the singer's life. Well, if you don't call doing the moonwalk, doing MJ dance moves and wearing the glove, then please tell me what an impersonator is because the he was trying to be like MJ, which no one can pull off. By the end of the show fans were being asked to come up on stage and do their best "Thriller" moves. The whole thing was cheesy. The symphony did a fantastic job. If they were going to have a performer put them off in the distance just singing, no dance moves, etc. We felt like the show was more about the singer and not the symphony.

When I bought the tickets, I thought it was just symphony music, so when i found out there was a singer I was a little nervous. But it was so good! He had a great voice, and the show was very energetic. The symphony was great...The excitement in the room just kept building as the show went on, until finally people were standing and dancing in the aisles. Lots of fun!

I couldn't imagine what it would be like for the Charlotte Symphony to play the music of MIchael Jackson - and now I'm happy to say it was AMAZING. What a wonderful return to my younger years. The music was great, clear, mellow; all those things fond memories of music generates. The lead singer nailed the lyrics! (I'm no good with names) I was so happy that nobody tried to overwhelm the music with volume. The problem with most live performances is that the music gets lost in the volume and noise. But this performance didn't have that problem at all. By the end of the performance everyone was on their feet and lots of us were dancing in the aisles. There were at least 3 generations represented and I hope the younger generation appreciated the music and the history that drove Pink Floyd. Thank you so much.

This was quiet the experience with nostalgic great music from Pink Floyd revisited with the Charlotte Symphony featuring, brass, drums, keyboard, bass, violin, jazzy saxophone, electric guitar, etc. conducted in the background with the Pink Floyd singers and musicians in the front. The light show was modern psychedelic digital lights that came out all over the audience. There was audience participation in one song that was quiet heartfelt.

I was highly impressed with the quality of this performance and how well it was presented. I have never seen such a diversified crowd ranging from 10 years old to 80 years with each and everyone really getting into the music. The audiance was packed and all were singing along, dancing in their seats and some even standing on occasion for better mobility. The lead guitarist and sax players were incredible. I am 58 years old and was attending with my 18 year old granddaughter as part of her birthday gift and we both greatly enjoyed this event.

The orchestra was amazing, as always. Advertising of the event should have made more clear that they would be playing with a cover band. "The Music of Led Zeppelin" title led me to believe the symphony would be playing the music, only. I wouldn't have attended a cover band performance. If they symphony was going to perform something like this for prices as high as they were, they should have at least enlisted ZOSO, who is the #1 Zeppelin cover band, instead of a second string cover band. We left at intermission.

Randy Jackson's vocal likeness to Plant was uncanny. While not quite as powerful vocally, he made up for in his musical talent instrumentally. And Page's counterpart nailed the electric solos followed by a back and forth dual with the lead violinist. The humorous interaction with the audience and obvious fan devotion to lyrics and air guitar/drums made this performance engaging and one to remember.

We used our "date-night" to get out and sing with Natalie. Her singing voice is still viberate. Her presence was powerful enough to fill the auditorium in Charlotte. Although Natalie has not ventured far from the songs of her Father, she gives each song the sentimental melody it desires.Personally, I hope that she will venture out and sing new songs that support her own personal choices.

I actuall bought the tickets for my parents 19th anniversary. Nately Cole's song "Unfortgetable" is their song. They said that the orcastra was amazingly talented and well directed! When they came home they were like a young couple happy and in love! Money could not buy such talent that Nately Cole, the orcastra, and the conductor have. Thank you for giving them a truly an "Unforgetable" night.

I had not been to a Charlotte Pops concert in years, but HAD to see Natalie Cole. She was off the charts good - I've never listened to any singer where I could absolutely understand EVERY WORD she sang. remarkable. The only downside to the event was the crowd. People that want to verbally share their critique of the concert DURING THE SHOW should have their own section - and if you want to sing with the artist, do it in your car. Unfortunately, the Pops crowd in Charlotte seems to be like the Chastain Park crowd in Atlanta - NOISY!

Smooth as silk, engaging, gorgeous, with back-ups (inluding her son) who were immense additions, especially the two vocalists. I wanted to hear more from them and did with the encore which was fantastic, sublime even. The Charlotte Symphony snapped to attention with Natalie. The opening, without her and with the Dutch conductor, was an embarrassment. You could almost see the musicians' teeth grating with the choice of schmalzy selections and the lackluster conducting, interpersed with oddly ebullient commentary. The folks who came late, after the intermission, were wise. The four stars reflects not on Natalie and the CSO but on the opening "warm-up," which was a mistake.
