Joshua Radin

Joshua Radin grew up listening to classic Motown hits of the ‘60s, The Beatles, Paul Simon, James Taylor and Cat Stevens, influences which were to play a big part in his future career. He studied art at Northwestern University before moving to New York, buying a guitar and teaching himself how to play it and write songs. His big break come in 2004 when he presented a copy of his very first song “Winter” to a TV producer by the name of Zach Braff with whom he eventually became close friends. He was so impressed he used it as a soundtrack on a scene in the comedy TV series Scrubs in 2004.

I've been a huge Joshua Radin fan for a number of years, and he was wonderful once again. I also enjoyed meeting Rachael Yamagata and Brandon Jenner on this tour. What talent! I just wish Joshua had sung a couple more of his new songs from The Fall album. I also loved the meet and greet, and the intimate setting. The only thing I didn't like was that this was a standing-only show on the main floor. It's much better when it's a seated show.

Joshua Radin...never fails to put on one heck of a show. Good Old War was a nice addition to open up but that main event...nothing tops that. Thank you for a night for the books...

Joshua Radin is absolutely amazing live. He makes you feel like you are the only one the in the room with him. He's funny and interacts with the audience. He took several suggestions from the crowd when he played his 5 song encore. Center Stage was also just big enough. There was no overcrowding and had great bar service.

Both opening acts were delightful, the ambiance at the ballroom was nice, but having to stand the entire time during a singer songwriter show was a bit much. I very much enjoyed the little anecdotes that were shared by the artists. However i might be biased as Joshua Radin is one of my favorite artists.

Josh Radin was at his best, played a bunch of new songs which I'm usually not a fan of at concerts.....I want to hear all the songs I know. But I was pleasantly surprised- many of his news songs have an upbeat, rock feel- and I'm looking forward to the new CD. There were however issues with the sound-- they adjusted eventually, but it was disappointing.

One of the purest, most genuine voices I have heard live to date. Joshua Radin is not only a talented singer, but also a gifted songwriter. Come back to Pittsburgh soon, Joshua!

I love Joshua's music and feel relaxation wash over my soul when I hear his voice. His warm and fun personality made the experience fantastic (pun intended)! I'm sure that he is destined for greater things. Can't wait for his 3rd CD! Joshua, I wish you and your band lots of success and wonderful memories on your tour!

Amber & Gary were extremely talented! Great openers even though I hadn't previously known of them. Joshua, as always, put on a great show. He always makes a point to give fans a preview of his unreleased work, and really puts himself into the music. His new band was, surprisingly, "rockin'" though that word isn't normally associated with Josh's music! I've been listening to Josh for years and had a blast. I will name the old songs he played (but not in order, sorry).

His performance was spotless, and his set list was really good. He even played an all acoustic version of the first song he ever learned how to play, and it sounded amazing! Great concert to take a date, or meet new people!

Joshua Radin is, hands-down, one of those artists who is BETTER live than he is on his recordings. It's hard enough for "artists," these days, to be AS good as their recordings and Josh was simply amazing. It's been one of my dreams to see him play a live concert, as I've tried on 2 other occasions and couldn't get a ticket before the performance was sold out, so I felt like I was living a dream that night, but BETTER. His openers were so perfect, as well - a duo called "my name is you," comprised of 2 people in Josh's band, and Tristan Prettyman. Both the duo and Tristan sang original songs and they both were just so great. I would recommend seeing Joshua Radin to anyone! His music is so feel-good and inspirational. The Paramount is also a really cool venue. I want to see who is playing there in the future just so that I can go back!

What an incredibly talented guy!! If anyone reading this has not seen him, buy tickets to his next show asap, you will not be disappointed.

This was my first time traveling to see Justin Nozuka. Yes, i know it was joshua radin's show, but no i went just to see Justin Nozuka. And, hell was it worth it. This was a show that i feel Justin put his everything into, yes all of his shows are so emotional and he puts his heart into them. But this was in his birthplace. he was happy to be back in NYC. The line outside was wrapped around 44th st. But once doors opened the line went by quickly. coat check was 3 dollars which was fair. But, would i do this again yes.

The concert started out with Andrew Allen who was such a hit with the crowd and really took the time to connect and joke around. His songs were adorable and fun as was he! Justin Nozuka was next, and I have to say I was a little disappointed by his performance. In his first song it was very hard to hear the lyrics because his voice was muffled and during the rest of his set he didn't take any time to really connect with the audience. I have listened to his music before and think he is very talented and although his voice sounded very good live I found myself more uninterested and bored than excited. Next came Joshua, and from the moment he stepped on stage with his pompom beanie the excitement of the crowd never faltered. He was absolutely amazing and adorable. He took the time to tell stories related to his songs and to joke around with the crowd which was great because his fans were able to see his personality. His voice was absolute perfection and even better live than on his album! His band was great and he took the time to thank them and show gratitude which was awesome. He also brought up a few kids from an inner city Philly school to play Brand New Day with him which was so sweet and awesome of him and melted all of the girls' hearts in the audience. One of the best moments was the encore when he returned after the crowd's cheer for him to come back. He was so humbled and grateful but he performed like a rock star. Overall, this was one of the best concerts I've ever been to due to the small intimate venue, the enthusiastic crowd and of course, the talent.

Okay..soo there is nothing negative to say about this event at all!! All the acts were AMAZING!! Andrew Allen has at least 3 new fans in my family... Justin Nozuka's soulful voice made me swoon. And lets not forget Mr. Joshua Radin..words cannot describe my enjoyment as I stood there listening to hist melodic voice. What I wouldn't do to have that any of those extremely talented med sing me so sleep..Can't wait to seem them again!

I love Joshua Radin and I like him even more after seeing him live, but I truly wish he had played somewhere else other than "The Pageant", in St. Louis; too much talking and clattering of bottles. Even that, though, didn't take away the enjoyment of hearing his beautifully melodic music. I first heard about Joshua's music when I watched "Scrubs". I heard a song and had to know who that was! Fortunately he did several for the show. Joshua has a wonderful voice and, with harmonies, has a definite Simon & Garfunkel feel to his music. I am an older fan and appreciate the full, lyrical song that has verses, chorus, and bridge, without a dance number attached to it; unusual these days. I did, however, miss the female voice that does harmonies on his records. She really gives a nice touch. Also, Radin's voice and lyrics could not be heard when the full band, who were quite good, played. I hope Joshua keeps falling in love so he can keep writing such rare, beautiful songs! A final note, thanks so much for not getting political!!!

I went not knowing anything about the opening acts, and was pleasantly surprised at how awesome the first band, The Kin, was. The second opening act wasn't quite as good, but they only played for half an hour, so it was bearable. Then came Joshua Radin. He was absolutely amazing live - he told hilarious stories between songs, and sounded even better than he does on his CDs. After the concert, we were able to meet both The Kin and Joshua, and they were all incredibly nice.

They were recording it for his live DVD AND ZACH BRAFF WAS THERE!! Up in the VIP section. Josh was extra chatty and telling the stories that preceded him writing each song. The setup was beautiful. Vintage lamps adorned the stage. One band member actually played an upright bass which is always a gorgeous image. It's amazing how connected you can feel to someone at such a large venue. OK, so it's not the biggest venue. Actually, I realized that it's strikingly similar to my favorite venue, the Bowery Ballroom. Anyway, he was great. His voice sounded incredible.

Amazing show! I would have to say that the first opening act was also very impressive. You normally expect average bands that are not very good whenever the opening artists are not mentioned; however, the Kin was fabulous! The addition of their Australian instrument was really awesome and their harmonizing voices was splendid to listen to. I particularly enjoyed their song, Abraham. Tears almost came to my eyes during a number of their songs and I thought they did a splendid job! Joshua Radin was very, very enjoyable. I liked how he did not include too many new songs, but the ones he did include were enjoyable and the energy in the audience was certainly not at a low. He was very interactive and told many whiskey-driven stories about the origins of his songs. Radin's pitch and singing was flawless and his backup singer, although her microphone was not loud enough, had a beautiful voice and a certain glow to her while singing on stage. I think it was definitely more than well worth it to come to this concert! It was one of the highlights of my year!

There was no where to sit which was perfect because a lot of people got to see him really close. The opening acts were a real treat. Two different artists I have never heard of but, really made the show fun. And I can't say enough about Joshua Radin. He sang LIVE, and showed that the sound of his voice is not just a studio production. He had control and it was really a great. His band rocked also. Great performance!!!!!

My fiancé and I originally heard one of his songs (Winter) on an episode of Scrubs and were instantly hooked to his poetic lyrics, the earnestness of his voice, and the genuine and unique sound of his whisper rock. It was only a matter of weeks before all I had to do was sing "I should know ..." and she couldn't not eventually sing "who I am by now ..." It was only natural for us to be curious about his live performance, and therefore hop on tickets when we heard he was coming to the Duck Room. Our conclusion: a concert experience as unique as our first listen. The power of his voice is not accurately recorded in the studio, and must be heard in person to have a true appreciation. Whether his audience banter is premeditated or improvised, it was very entertaining in and of itself. We were very interested to hear the origin of so many of his songs that we love, and we received the pleasant surprise of new material from his pending album, which was "rock-the-house music" as opposed to "listening music" as he puts it. Finally - the Duck Room was a good selection of venue. The intimate, personal atmosphere befit his style, though I think his ideal venue would actually be something of a caberet atmosphere. An aside: God bless him for being so colorful as to have worked with Patty Griffin. Sometimes I feel like the pretentious patrons of the Independent Rock scene (who I think of when listening to the Cake song Rock 'n' Roll Lifestyle) that I often see at this venue wouldn't know Patty if she bit them on the rear. And I would be amiss if I did not mention the performance of the beautiful Jessica with the beautiful voice. What a treat and pleasant surprise it was to hear such an awesome artist new to the US. Her voice, lyrics, and acoustic guitar were sublime! Kudos to Joshua for bringing her to us. Finally, a note to Joshua: my fiancé thinks you're a lot hotter than John Mayer. Don't sell yourself short

Joshua Radin puts on an incredible show every time. He's not afraid to expose his personal life in his songs and really give the audience a sense of his character: just a funny guy with a guitar that falls in love with sad girls. I gained new meaning behind his newest record "Simple Times" after this show and I love him even more now! On this tour he does an excellent job with his traditional "whisper rock" tone, but he broke out with some new upbeat songs for his new album that he'll record next year...which he quotes "don't hate me for playing some rock-n-roll, but it is just more fun to play"...but don't worry, the rock-n-roll Joshua Radin does not venture far from his style as an artist, just listen close to his lyrics and you'll still hear him. Although Joshua Radin is in the spotlight, he really showcases his full band and female vocalist in the act and they do an amazing job complementing him :)

I attended to hear some of Joshua's solo work, but he also played a lot of "new" stuff with a band. He's getting into the rock scene, which I thought was OK... but he should stick with the alternative, more mellow genre. His voice is just perfect for those type of songs. The concert itself was good. I was expecting Joshua to have a very relaxed demeanor, but he was a little high strung the first half of the concert due to some equipment failures. Overall I still give it 4 stars because I love his music.

This was my first time attending an event at Irving Plaza & first time seeing Joshua Radin, and I was highly impressed by both. The smaller capacity venue made the entire experience feel much more intimate, and I was very happy they offered upgrades to an elevated platform (where short people like me can actually see the stage!) I was blown away by Joshua's performance. It was just incredible, and his interaction with the audience was wonderful. This wasn't my 4th time seeing Joshua Radin, and every time is better than the last. I went with my date, and the place was fairly crowded. He played a couple songs from his new album and gave us a little history to why he wrote the songs. He gave a great performance as well as the opening acts. At the end the concluded with an A' Capella Unplugged version of Don't Think Twice by Bob Dylan, which is the first song Joshua learned how to play. During the song they brought the openers out to sing along, at which they switched to Wont Back Down by Tom Petty. It was an awesome way to end the show!

I had actually not heard any of Joshua Radin's music before, and this was a first date. But we both wanted to catch some music, so I picked up tickets. After picking up tickets at will call, I met my date at the front bar and we had a drink before going in. Once we were in the show, we found a nice spot at a table with a good view. The opener was a solo acoustic player who was engaging with the crowd. When Josh came on, it was like one long dialogue with the audience with music interspersed. He had a very compelling sound and voice despite all of the apparent rust of a first night of the tour. Regardless, it was a really fun show for everyone.

This is my second time seeing Josh in concert. His music is made for these intimate settings. I felt like we were all hanging out at someone's house. I love that he shares the back stories to his songs-makes him relatable. The "in love" Josh is much more playful on stage! Even the loud jerky guy couldn't get to him. Cary Brothers and Andrew Belle were solid opening acts and their music compliments each other. This performance solidifies what I previously shared with my husband- we will see Josh Radin anytime we can. Pearl Jam was great (last year) at USBank arena but nothing beats a guy, and his guitar, telling his tales from a stage smaller than most school gyms. I'll take Josh every time.

I've been a fan of Joshua Radin's for 7 years, and this was the first time he was performing somewhere close enough to me. The venue was fabulous, and had tons of character. I have been a Radin fan for years. The first song I ever heard by him was "Winter," and I was sold. Unfortunately there were some factors that made this concert only worthy of no more than 3 stars. First, the venue. It was dark and cold. I mean never raised above 40 degrees cold and that is not including the windchill from the drafts. This resulted in my heels and toes going painfully numb by the end of the show. Even though my date and I dressed appropriately for the weather, it felt as if we never went indoors. Second, there was a lot of conversation between songs during the Radin set. My understanding is he was "home, " and his significant other as well as his parents were in the theater but as an avid listener part of the game is to guess the meanings of your lyrics. It's no good to us for you to explain the inspiration of every song before you sing it. We are there to hear you sing, not talk. Would I go again under the same circumstance, yes. Could it have been better, definitely.

Joshua Radin is an incredible artist and overall an amazing human being. He is so adorable and is such a beautiful artist. He sounds even better live and I love hearing all the stories behind the songs he writes and sings. He allows himself to be incredibly vulnerable by opening himself up to his fans/audience and he is really unlike any other artist. His older songs are classics but his newest album should not be missed - in fact, it should be played on constant repeat! Although the crowd in my section at the Wilbur was constantly talking as if they were at a bar and it made it difficult to hear his softer beautiful voice, he is such a talented and passionate performer. I could listen to him sing all day and night long. However, the caged sections of the Wilbur floor / general admission are the worst for trying to see the performer if there is anyone tall in front of you. The constant chatter and talking of very rude and disturbing crowd made it really hard to hear Joshua. It also did not help that there was a bar and the low ceilings made the acoustics pretty terrible.

before his set was not. It should be so hard to tell people that there is going to be an opening band and what time the main performer is going to go on. The event was sold out so we got there at 7:40 to score seats. Doors at 8, warm up band at 9, Josh at roughly 10. For a Monday night that's way too much waiting around. I love Josh and he played great, but it wasn't a thoughtful set up for fans to ask them to wait around like that.

Joshua Radin is always amazing, but the intimate setting made this one of his best concerts yet!

Small venue was incredible! Acoustics were great, Joshua's voice is pitch perfect, just as he sounds on his records. Wish he had played longer! It's never enough!!

I saw the November 8 show at the Buckhead Theater. This is my fourth Joshua Radin show, and he ceases to disapoint. I had the VIP package and got to meet him. He let us request songs, and that was incredible. He sounds better live than on his records, if that's even possible. He also performs each song a little different live, which makes me like the song on the album even better than before. Counting down the days until he comes back to Atlanta.

I've seen about a half dozen Joshua Radin performances in the past few years and have never been disappointed. He always puts on a solid show and usually throws in some fun surprises, too. This time, however, we were really disappointed in the setlist. He's got so many songs from which to choose but he left out a ton of great material that I would have liked to hear him perform. When I've seen him before, I always feel so good after the show because I've had a chance to hear my favorite songs performed live in that special way he plays. This time he played a weird mix of songs and played almost nothing from his last record. I love him as an artist but was bummed with the songs he chose not to play this time.

Can't wait for these folks to come back so I can see them again. I hadn't heard josh radians music much but I just fell in love with the lyrics. Lived that he told the backstory for each song.

Great interaction with audience. His songs are so personal and relatable. The crowd was so polite. No cursing. No over drinking. No rowdy behavior. Sound boring? Not so. It was lovely.

Great venue! Awesome show! Amazing! We bought the VIP experience! I requested my favorite song during soundcheck and he played it again during encore. He didn't know me or know it was my birthday and I just felt like it was a dream come true! When you follow someone's music and are finally able to see it live... It's a great experience! Joshua Radin is amazing and I would see him again and again if the chance were possible. This was a magical moment for me and it is a music note that will harmonize forever in my mind.

My Mom and I went down to see A Fine Frenzy together, in ATL. We had a great time!!! Alison Sudhol is such a great singer and so sweet and cute in her personality. A real artist. And before her was Madi Diaz and she was great and so was Joshua Radin. Great night filled with inspiration.................

We were there specifically to see A Fine Frenzy. We didn't know much about Josh Radin going into the show. Allison Sudol and her band were really great. She is so much fun to watch, and her smile lights up the entire theater. She started slow, but once the dancing and upbeat tunes started, the show took off to a whole new level. She's like a gorgeous combination of Cyndi Lauper and Cameron Diaz. Unfortunately, she only did two songs off the Bomb in a Birdcage album (no Beacon?, no Electric Twist?), so most of the music in the show was new to me. Didn't mater, though, because Allison's infectious smile and dance moves made it a great show. (Her cool, sultry bassist was also nice to watch.)

I love Joshua Radin and his music. I try to see his shows every chance I get. His music is easily relatable and his easygoing personality makes it seem like he's just hanging out with friends, telling stories. It was my first time seeing A Fine Frenzy and they put on a great show. The music takes you places and Alison Sudol (the lead singer) tries to set the scene before each song.

Joshua Radin and Zack Heckendorf rocked the house with there smooth sounds, bluesy rythms, and witty style. A Fine Frenzy was not so fine as she reminded me of my four year old niece. The whinny and squeky voice along with a truely dramatic personality was too much. Her voice is good do not get me wrong but the performing arts piece of her show is over the top. Joshua and Zack (last show in Durham) were really great! "Wish Joshua played, 'In Her Eyes'."

Madi Diaz, A Fine Frenzy and Joshua Radin all performed exceptionally well! Each performer addressed the crowd which led to a more intimate setting. I would highly recommend seeing each of these performers if you have a chance. Also, the venue was great. It was my first time in the Best Buy Theater and I am looking forward to going there again. The only negative aspect was that the concert was rescheduled due to Hurricane Sandy to a Sunday night. There was a curfew and as such Joshua Radin stated he was forced to end his show earlier than expected.

I became a Josh Radin fan through Pandora & had only listened to his Simple Times record regularly before this concert. I downloaded Underwater two weeks before the show & was SO impressed with his live performance. He is magnetic, charismatic, brilliant, and captivating. His talents are endless and his spirit/energy are contagious! He is a must see for live performances....he shares his stories & his passions. You'll leave inspired....

There was a such warm energy Sunday night. Madi Diaz was a solid opening act. It was my first time hearing her music. She started the night with a solid set. A Fine Frenzy was fantastic. Great music, fantastic band, rich songs. And Joshua...was superb. He was joined by an exceptional band. It was a great night.

While A Fine Frenzy was very good, it would have been great had they had a sound technician. At times it was difficult to understand her words (although I'm familiar with them since I own all their CDs) which was due to not having a sound technician assisting. Joshua Radin's performance was excellent, the sound technician was assisting with this and did a good job. At times Joshua sang without the microphone which made it different and helped people focus :-). All in all a very enjoyable evening, worth every penny

The opening acts were very talented and Joshua was just amazing. He is so great with the crowd, he has an ease with story-telling and crowd banter that made it feel like a more intimate setting than it actually was. He was also great at getting the crowd riled up and moving even though it was a seated venue. He is a total charmer and on top of that, his vocals were magnificent. I can't believe he sounds that perfect live. The vocals and guitar playing were exquisite. His band was outstanding as well. I hope he comes back to Boston soon!!

I thought Joshua Radin was amazing. I was sad that his part of the show was so short. He was funny and had fantastic songs as well, but was only on for about an hour and 15 minutes including encore. A Fine Frenzy was not strong at all-we actually left and spent time in the lobby instead of staying for the rest. She just seemed very out of it to tell you the truth. However, I would go again in a heartbeat to hear Joshua Radin, I'd just have a longer dinner first.

I saw this performance at the Orpheum Theater in Boston. A Fine Frenzy performed music from their new album Pines. It is different than their other albums and displayed some fine musicianship by her band. I was impressed by the ambition of the music and the way Alison Sudol performed the songs. Joshua Radin's show was different and he was very engaging singing songs from his entire career. He got everyone up and dancing ending a fine evening of music. I recommend this to people looking for something a little different.

This was my third Joshua Radin concert and by far the best one I've gone too. I loved the opening act- Sarah Jarosz. She was awesome! A Fine Frenzy was good, but could've been better. She only sang one of her most popular songs. But seriously Josh was beyond words amazing! Love him!

Joshua Radin was entertaining and a lot of fun. I love his music but he stepped it up and also made it a very fun performance and entertaining! However, Fine Frenzy was a bit strange, didn't really make sense and I didn't enjoy that part of the show. I would recommend seeing Joshua Radin though. We saw him 2 years ago and this was even better!
