Barry Gibb

Barry Gibb

BARRY GIBB IN CONCERT:As a founding member of the Bee Gees, Barry Gibb is responsible for some of the most beloved and iconic songs of the 20th century, sharing a songwriting record with none other than John Lennon and Paul McCartney for having six consecutive No. 1's  on the Billboard Hot 100. Gibb's distinctive R&B falsetto — virtually synonymous with the '70s — is as impressive today as it was 40 years ago, eliciting collective swoons from fans during performances of disco hits like "Night Fever" and "How Deep Is Your Love" at his 2013 concerts. Gibbs may be the only surviving Bee Gee, but he more than holds his own as a solo performer, carrying on the band's legacy with another eagerly awaited string of concerts on the Mythology Tour in 2014.

I've waited my whole life to see Barry Gibb perform... and he did not disappoint. Every song was perfection. His band and performers are all outstanding. Even my husband, who was mildly skeptical that my expectations were too high, said that this was one of the best concerts he's ever seen. In fact, he said that if Barry tours again, we will pay more and sit even closer... music to my ears!!! To finally get to see Barry Gibb perform these songs, ones that I've listened to almost every single day of my life, right in front of me is one of the most memorable, emotional moments of my life. I highly, highly recommend seeing this show if you get the chance... you won't regret it!

We traveled all the way from South Carolina to the Mythology Concert. IT WAS WORTH IT ALL!!! Off the chain, off the gold chain as Jimmy Fallon said, off the charts. I saw them in the 70's, actually wore the same outfit to this concert and no, it didn't fall apart when dry cleaned, LOL. This was a bucket list item that I can now scratch off. IT WAS AMAZING AND WE LOVED BOSTON!!!!

Barry Gibb is really one of the great entertainers. His voice, his show and, last but not least, his band are outstanding. Even without his brothers the Bee Gees are alive on stage!

Mr. Gibb was absolutely fenomenal. I had the opportunity to see the Bee Gees as a group several years ago and they were great so I was really looking forward to seeing Barry now alone but honestly I had my doubts but I was blown away at how good he still sounds and at the quality of his show. Thank you!

Barry was excellent and played all the hits. At points during a few songs the audience was quiet, listening only to the sound of his voice without the band playing and he sounded awesome. The band was great and it was nice to see his family up there with him, who are also very talented. Overall a very good show though could have been just a little longer. I would recommend it for sure! FANTASTIC and glad I went!!

The show was amazing!! Yes, Barry Gibb is getting older, but his musical talent is timeless and it was great to be reminded of all the great music he and his brothers created for our generation. Glad to see him back on the stage and I hope he's around for a lot longer.

I really enjoyed seeing Barry Gibb. He performed many of the famous tunes that he and his brothers played. He was quite personable too! The opening band, Jared and Mill was great! I felt it was truly worth every dollar I payed. I had looked forward to this for many months and was not disappointed .

I loved the theme of the concert... MYTHOLOGY... it was a real nice history of the brothers three... plus little bro Andy. Barry sounded great... his voice was clear and steady and his guitar chops were pro. I liked that he had some of the family on stage with him... his Eldest son Steve... but his voice and look were a bit harsh for a Bee Gees audience... and Maurice's daughter Samantha... and though she had a great voice, she looked like a deer in the headlights... or maybe just uninterested. Aside for the amazing string of hits, including songs written for other artists... i.e. Barbara Streisand, my favorite moment was the video / live band sync of Robin's song... there were tears in my section of the audience... Barry's fan acknowledgement of the 'ladies from florida' was darling and very gracious. The Bowl was on its feet... and a fabulous time was had by all.... WHEN CAN WE DO IT AGAIN!

Great show, he represented his brotheres well. The only unfortunate is that brothers Robin, Morris and Andy have passed into their next life. I and my husband truly enjoyed the show. It may be the last show for Barry, I hope not .

I have waited for so long to see the BeeGees. Didn't get to see the whole group but it was so wonderful to see the last one. Ever since they sang their songs for the movie dance fever I just loved their music. What a wonderful gift it was to see one of them. He was excellent and there was no dissappointment in seeing the show. God bless him and his family.

What a wonderful night! The music was wonderful and nostalgic. Took me for a walk down memory lane. Missed Robin and Maurice, but Barry was incredible. He held his own and the show was magical, and heartwarming as he remembered his brothers too. I want to see him again. I have been a fan of the Bee Gees since I was 12 but was too young to see them in concert at that time. This was the first time seeing Barry Gibb in concert and it was amazing. He sang all the favorite songs and the sound was incredible. The most amazing part of the concert was when Barry started singing and Robin's voice was dubbed in and there was footage of him singing. It felt like he was there too! and the same for Maurice. It was a wonderful experience

I was worried going into this...that Barry was either too old or it would be a 2 hour long tribute to the Bee Gees and his brothers. I could not have been more wrong... Barry Gibb delivered what only a true MEGASTAR can deliver. Honest, heartfelt and great music - that only a superstar can deliver. he was up there with the best...His voice was great, the set was spot on and the sound perfect. Thanks you Barry for an unforgettable concert and evening at the always AMAZING Hollywood Bowl....Thanks you.

Barry Gibb Mythology was a fantastic show! Barry may not have the best voice projection, but the vibrato is staying alive. He paid tribute to all of his brothers. The younger Gibbs were also featured-Maurice's daughter rocked!! The lighting was amazing. I really liked how the concert ended. Sorry, not going to spill the beans cause that might cause a tragedy. I hope the tour continues to other venues, would actually think of going again!

The Mythology Concert was an emotional experience as Barry Gibb paid tribute to his deceased brothers in song and video throughout the show. The highlight was when he sang a duet with Robin via a video. Barry's voice was outstanding and he sang falsetto flawlessly. The harmonies provided by the backup singers closely approximated Maurice and Robin. Barry interacted with the audience and seemed to be genuinely appreciative of the audience response. He sang almost all the hits, although some seemed to be in an abbreviated version. His band was comprised of 30-somethings, and included his bearded and tatooed son Stephen, who is an excellent guitarist. His niece was supposed to sing, but was ill and did not appear. The Bee Gees and Barry Gibb have never received the critical response they should have, and this show demonstrated what an amazing singer and songwriter the last of the Gibb Brothers is.

I have been a fun of the Bee Gees since I was seven and this was a dream come true. I relive the history on the making when the Bee Gees were on top of their career. I love the list of songs selected for this show since I knew them all. Everyone dance through all the night. Barry was spectacular and he was filled with emotions from the warm applauses coming from the audience. It was nonstop. It was sad that Robyn and Maurice were not on stage any longer but Barry included some cool images of the Bee Gees when they were younger. We also had some images of Andy Gibb too. I was full with emotions to hear how beautify Barry talked about his brothers and how much he loved them and missed them. On the show, Barry introduced his oldest son. He invited his son to sing with him in several occasions and he did a great job. I also enjoyed the performance of his niece. She had an amazing job and she sang with Barry in a couple of songs. The Bee Gees revolutionized music on the 70s and early 80s, and I like to see Barry continuing with the legacy. Even though the Hollywood Bowl is a great venue, Barry made us feel as part of the family and he made everyone feel so close to him. I will recommend everyone who has been a fun of the Bee Gees not to miss this concert. Barry is planning to come back and I will be the first one to purchase my tickets. This was an unforgettable night.

Barry played for just over 2 hours and left no stone unturned in the catalog. He played early Bee Gees, Disco Bee Gees, 90's Bee Gees and Andy. His family was involved and the show properly payed tribute to one of music's most influential contributors. Barry's voice was top notch and he never missed a beat. I have been waiting decades to see the Bee Gees and Barry delivered. On top of the concert, the Hollywood Bowl is an incredible place to see a show. The acoustics are fantastic. Took my teenage daughter to see Barry. Really miss Robyn and Maurice. He had music video that seamlessly interwove with the live music that brought in his brothers. Other additions include performances by his son Stephen and niece Sami. All in all well done and it made for a memorable evening. If you will not settle for less than the Bee Gees, it may not be for you. My teenage daughter loved it, and amazingly she successfully predicted all the songs that were performed during the encore. I don't know how she does it. If you have an opportunity to see Barry take advantage of it.

Always wanting to have seen the Bee Gees in concert, I was thrilled to be able to see Barry Gibb perform. Fantastic show. He still has a great voice. He sang classics from all phases of the Bee Gees' career as well as songs written by the Bee Gees but performed by others (Frankie Valli's "Grease", Kenny & Dolly's "Islands In The Stream"). Three talented background singers (including one who would make Streisand proud on "Guilty" and "Woman In Love"), great band, Barry's son on guitar (& featured singing on some songs) and Maurice's daughter also singing. His brothers were never far from Barry's mind and were part of the show, with photos and videos of the brothers (Andy too) and Barry speaking lovingly of them throughout the performance. A touching moment came with Barry starting "To Love Somebody" and then seeing Robin on screen singing, turning the song into a duet.

This was the first time I saw Barry Gibb live and I loved it. He did every song pretty well with his unique voice. It was also emotional not seeing Maurice and Robin on stage with him, but the 3 back up singers did a great job. Being in the band all my life, we used to play most of the BG's hits so I was pretty pumped up. The only problem with this show was the time between the opening band and his show. It took way too long.

Nobody can question Barry Gibb's incredible talent, but what I wasn't expecting was his incredible amount of humility, tenderness and profound appreciation to not only his band and us in the audience, but he gave thanks to the production, camera, lighting and sound crews\u2026.. almost all by first and last name! I am so glad that I took my daughters (11 and 15) so they could see how a true artist should act. I would definitely pay, even more than I did for the same seats, if he ever comes back to the best place to see a concert in my opinion, The Concord Pavilion ~

Barry Gibb was fantastic. This was such a great concert. He still sounds great, just like he always has. He played for over two hours with no intermission. 67 years old? You sure couldn't tell. Song list was 31 songs, and I knew the words to almost everyone. 8 piece backup band, and 3 female singers for harmonies. Also, his son played guitar and sang. WOW ! Barry Gibb is an music legend. Bee Gees music still lasts forever and is the best. Barry did tributes to brothers Andy, Maurice, & Robin. And his son Steve sang a couple of songs and looks just like a Bee Gee. Maurice's daughter Samantha was sick and did not perform. Barry sang several Bee Gee songs including: "Lonely Days", "Don't Throw It All Away", "To Love Somebody", "How Can You Mend A Broken Heart", "How Deep Is Your Love", "New York Mine Disaster", "I Started A Joke", "You Should Be Dancin' ", and several others including a Bruce Springsteen "I'm On Fire".

Seeing Barry Gibb preform live was truly magical! :) I've been a Bee Gees fan since I was young, and this event has been a dream come true. Barry does not disappoint; he still has the great voice that we all know and love so well. The set list was so amazing, there was never a dull moment. Jive talking was a great opening song. It really felt like each song on the list builds up to a greater one and a stunning finale. I even heard new material, which was cool. The concert felt very intimate and personal since he was sharing a lot about his family, the bond he had with his brothers and their many adventures in music. It was very sweet when he sang immortality for his family and dedicated special songs to them. The band's amazing as well. I hope Barry continues to do shows! Almost a week later, I'm still on an after-concert music high. That night was truly amazing. Simply magical!

This was the first time I ever saw Bary Gibb live (never saw the Bee Gees live). All I can say is he is amazing! From the minute he walked out on stage, he had complete control of the entire audience. His voice was powerful and much like it always has been, he hit every note. He was upbeat and happy to be performing. The show was a celebration of the Bee Gee's wonderful music and Barry was truly there to lead the party. There were sad moments of course, but you could see the love he has for all of his brothers. I just hope he keeps smiling, and performing. He still has a lot to give and I hope to see him live again.

After having the privilege of seeing several times the Bee Gees perform in concert and growing up on their music, I have to say this was a phenomenal performance by Barry in his first solo concert without his brothers. I would not have missed it for the world. Here is a man who has endured the true test of time, demonstrating pure musical talent and seemingly so grateful for the fans in the audience. After enduring so much heartache from the loss of his brothers, he held it all together to perform each song with passion and clarity. His voice has not changed. The songs are still so meaningful and if he carries on with the second generation of Gibb talent, I would be more than happy to travel far and wide to see him again. A true class act.

My husband and I absolutely LOVE the Bee Gees. We saw them for the first time on July3, 1979. It was our first date. We were just 14 and 15 at the time. We were inspired so much by the brothers, that we decided to learn how to play the guitar and we started a band of our own. We did mostly Bee Gees and Beatles covers. We saw them again on November 14, 1997. It was even more amazing than the first time. Seeing Barry perform a solo show was even better. He has allways been our favorite Bee Gee. We loved that he did some of the old songs that we have never heard live before. Every Christian Lyon Hearted Man will Show You was my personal favorite. It was so cool that he did a cover of the song "Fever" and then went in to a very mellow version of Night Fever. It was the best concert we have ever had the pleasure of attending. We really wanted to meet Barry but I guess we just didn't take the right steps to make it happen. We had the honor and pleasure of meeting three of Barry's sons. We met Ashley befor the show in front of the venue. He was so polite and humored me with a picture of He and I together. After the show we went up to the stage area and were able to meet Steve and get him to autograph my ticket. He is so talented and even more gracious and friendly. We met Michael outside the after party. He was so sweet. When I asked him to sign my ticket he was genuinely surprised that I wanted his autograph. We tried to get in to the after party and had no luck, but Michael offered to take us in as his guests, but the security dude at the door wouldn't let us in because we didn't have wrist bands. Michael was so sweet, he told us he was going back in to get "Dad" so we could meet him. unfortunately, he had already left for home. Michael gave us Barry's home address and told me that we could send anything we wanted signed to Barry and that he would gladly sign it for me and send it back. WOW. We gave Michael a beautiful cross necklace that we made for Barry and he assured us that he would give it to "Dad" and tell him about us. Meeting the boys made up for not getting the chance to meet Barry and Linda.

We were not expecting Barry Gibb to sound that great after all these years. Also, because he didn't have any of his brothers to help with the songs. To our amazement, he was absolutely fantastic with his singing, and his wonderful personality!!! His back up singers and musicians were also very good, and the whole show brought me to tears (happy ones) starting with the very first song!! Everyone around me was screaming and thrilled with his performance as wel!. He even was able to ake some of those same "sounds" and high notes and they brought everyone to their feet screaming, we love you Barry. I am 71 yrs. old and have always loved the BeeGees music and listen to them daily. He fullfilled my dream of seeing him perform again and amazed that he still had it i him. Having his son and neice perform made it special too!

To me watching Barry Gibb Live at The Hard Rock was an unforgettable experience. I almost didn't even attend, because I never knew the concert even existed. I bought the tickets about a week ago and that was only because my boyfriend spotted the billboard and told me about it and I jumped on the opportunity to purchase the tickets. I hadn't seen any advertisements of the upcoming concert, so I am very grateful to my boyfriend for having spotted the billboard for the concert. Growing up, I was brought up with the influence of the Bee Gees because of my parents love for the music. My parents while they were alive never had the opportunity to experience the Bee Gees Live and the fact that I was able to experience Barry Gibb perform some of the many hits I have grown to love throughout the years, feels like I paid tribute to my parents by experiencing the concert for them. My father did meet Barry Gibb here in Miami many years ago and even went on a fishing trip with him and several others once. One of my dreams as a teenager was to have the Bee Gees perform at my wedding because of how much I love them and their music. I felt that Barry Gibb gave a tremendous performance, sounded amazing and incorporated his family into the concert; it touched me! I was excited from the beginning until the end of the concert. The moment my emotions got the better of me was when he started to sing "Words." The tears started to flow and for 2 more songs afterwards, the tears just kept coming down. Truly an amazing experience and thus far, the most emotionally connected concert I have experienced. Will never forget it.

Fantastic. He put on a really outstanding, professional show, but I would expect nothing less from him. I enjoyed the family touches, and he was personable with the audiance. I would see him again any time. His voice got stronger with each song as he relaxed into the show. I took my older sister who is visiting from Canada and we both left saying we were going to buy a remastered CD of the Bee Gee hits.

Great show!! His voice is wonderful. Loved when Barry talked about his brothers, showed pictures on the big screen and the story he shared about the spoof Jimmy Fallon and Justin Timberlake do on Saturday night Live.

I was amazed at how great Barry's voice still sounds. He sounded so much better in person than on CD or you tube. He can still hit all the high notes. Barry is a natural showman and really charmed the crowd at Hollywood Bowl. He had a great show and it was well worth the price!

This was a dream come true for me. I was never fortunate enough to see the Bee Gees perform and seeing Barry Gibb perform those same songs with tribute to his late brothers, was such an emotional rush! Can't wait for the next time he comes to Boston!

A most enjoyable evening for my Wife and I. Good memories rekindled and some of the best music in the past 30 years relived! The performance was worth every cent we paid and more so, his extended encores were just icing on the Cake! The tribute to Barry's brothers was both touching and tasteful. It was our first time seeing Barry in a live performance, hope to see more, the Hollywood Bowl is a great venue, We'll make sure and sit closer next time! All the Best to Barry and his entourage! The concert I traveled across the US to see was worth everything . Loving the music for 40 plus years I was able to see for myself how talented this man is. Being close enough to have him squeeze my hand and smile directly at me??? A memory i will treasure. Thank you Barry Gibb And your Brothers for the music and the memories.

Loved the concert. Barry sounded great and his band was in top form. Enjoyed the pictures and his tribute to his brothers and that Maurice's daughter Sam sang who sounded great also. Felt like it really was a Bee Gees concert and not just Barry.

One word sums it up...AWESOME. It was a great mix of their hits. Barry Gibb still has it all and is carrying on the family legacy and also introducing the public to younger family members. His son Steven rocks!!!! I look forward to hearing more from him. The Hollywood Bowl is a great venue-well maintained and safe.

Barry Gibb put on an amazing show. He's a powerful entertainer who gave it all to the audience and was on stage for two hours! Not many artists will give that much to their fans. It was lovely to see the ways he included his brothers and other family members. He gave us our money's worth and more with a great selection of his songs. I would go several more times, if possible!

Wht can you say? One of the greatest songwriters of all time and he played most of his best. The tributes to his brothers were great but having his own son sing a very long and not well known song, really brought the concert to a halt. Barry sounded great and so did the backup singer, Beth Cohen, who stood in for Barbra Streisand for "Guilty" and "Woman in Love".

We splurged and had really great seats. So we were close to the action and were absolutely thrilled with the concert! Barry Gibb has the ability to engage his audience in an amazing way! I was so impressed that the concert was so classy. Would have felt perfectly comfortable to have my teenage son in attendance - no obscene language. It was just fun and the music was, of course, phenomenal!

We really enjoyed this show at the Hollywood Bowl. The show that Barry Gibb put on was wonderful, they played a lot of BG's of course and it all sounded great. The Bowl is always so pretty, the weather was perfect and we loved it when they started up with the disco ball lights all around the place. His son was good and it was surprising to hear his rough kind of voice compared to the high notes that Barry puts out. His niece was also good and the whole show was very enjoyable. Would recommend this to anyone who enjoyed the BG's back in the day..

I have been a BG fan since I was 13!! Due to certain circumstances, I have never been able to see them live, until the other night! Barry was awesome! With the help of his son Steven and Maurice's daughter Sammy, it was a great family reunion and a total Bee Gees fest! For anyone who is a true fan--please see this show! You will not be disappointed!

I've seen Andy Gibb, The Bee Gees many times over the years and now Barry Gibb on his own and Loved every minute of it. With tributes to his brothers, story telling, family movies playing, Stephan Gibb in guitar and Maurice's daughter Sammy singing both solo and with her uncle, the show was a "10" . Barry Gibb is the cream of the crop! Would go over and over again even if the parking at the Bowl is funky.

Great to hear all the old favorites, done superbly by a large professional ensemble. The back-up singers were the best I've ever seen! One sour note - were not allowed to bring drinks in, as it was a "leased"event. Not very clear when purchasing the ticket.

Barry Gibb played almost two and a half hours of the most popular Bee Gees songs. His voice was pitch perfect. His sentimental tribute to his brothers through well-chosen songs was wonderful and heartfelt. His oldest son, Steven and niece, Samantha Gibb accompanied him and sang a few songs as well. Loved every minute of the show! I sure hope that Barry tours again. I would go!!!!

The Last time I saw the Bee Gees was on DVD when they had a one event at the MGM in Las Vegas. That was awesome, with surprise Special Guest Celine and Olivia. It was awesome that Barry has arranged this Concert. His family members were a good supplement to the sounds. It would have been a great gesture if John Travolta and Olivia would have made an appearance and acknowledged the last remaining member of the Band that produced the Music for the Movies that helped them become famous.

I saw the Bee Gees back in 1978 at Dodger Stadium with my best friend who has since passed away. On Wednesday night, June 4th, I took my boyfriend to see Barry Gibb live at the Hollywood Bowl. He loved Barry and said it was a great concert, even he got emotional after Barry sang one of Maurice's songs. The whole audience was emotional. Barry Gibb's voice is still as perfect as it was when he was young. I grew up listening to the Bee Gees and he is still as great as ever. I give Barry a lot of credit for going out and touring by himself, along with his niece Samantha and his son Stephen. I could not have asked for a better performance. It was absolutely the best concert I have ever been to in my life. Barry was simply amazing and wowed the crowd. Every review I have read said the same thing, Barry gave the audience a perfect performance and sang all of our favorite songs. Unforgettable night, which I will never forget.
