The Holiday Bowl game along with all of the festivity was a great experience. Every time I have gone to a sporting event at Qualcomm (my second time), I am reminded of how it's probably one of the worst sporting venues that I have ever been to. First, the security line to get in is disorganized and poorly staffed. One person assigned to each line with hundreds of people in it to inspect bags and frisk is not enough. No one policed the lines either. The price for food and beer is the highest I have ever seen ($12/beer). The biggest complaint is the parking and the exiting. It's a free-for-all to try to get out of the parking lot, and there are no guides to organize the traffic; this is what I remember from last time I was there.

Marching Bands and Fireworks stole the show. Game outcome was disappointing. USC did not play their best game...they didn't show up until second half. Wisconsin defense spanked them... Kudos to the pyrotechnics team!

I love that one local team got to play, too bad it wasn't more competitive. The one not so great aspect is that regular UCLA home games have better tail-gate and pre-game events that what was offered at the Q.

The game was almost as good as expected, this of course will change depending on the teams each year. The venue was very good. The seats were good. Food and Drink prices were rediculusly high, 24 ounce soft drink $11.00. The city made arrangements for the San Diego train trolly system and had plenty of trains going back towards the city and hotels. For 45,000 plus attendees the time from the seats back to my drop off station was less than 30 minutes.

Well I had look forward to seeing two new teams in my hometown of SD. I was greatly disappointed to the outcome and the way the event proceeded. Not only were both teams terrible, it was the game that would not end. Every time there was a break in the action (and with 16 punts & 5 turnovers) ESPN used the chance to have a commercial and the local planners used to promote their own products (Qualcomm & Bridgepoint). I felt like the game was an after thought. The fans were bored & though it wasn't outrageously cold, it was enough to make this situation uncomfortable. Can you believe with a team on the one yard line to score they decided to use the field for a Dr. Pepper throwing contest. Very poor judgement. Very poor planning. Very bad game.... I paid a good price for this event. Better to see it in a nice restuarant and have the commentators lie to be about how great a game it was. NOT !!!!

Seating was ok, but was under a balcony abd could not see scoreboard. The concession was very high priced, $5.75 for a pop you can buy elsewhere for less than $2. The game was good, but again the prices are for the rich, not the teams fans.

I did see the Holiday Bowl, but in 2006. First time I ever attended a bowl game. Enjoyed the parade the day of the game, reminded me of the thanksgiving parade with all of the balloons. caught a foam football thrown into the crowd. would have preferred a closer game, as Cal-Berkeley thumped Texas A & M 45-10, halftime score was 14-10. Since then I have seen one other bowl game, 2 years later, the Outback Bowl in Tampa. My school, Iowa, was playing there, and beat South Carolina.

We loved the marching bands that added more enthusiasm to the game. Both teams where well coached. It was exciting to be part of the game with no favorite team. The draw back to another wise great event were people getting drunk and becoming obnoxious. It was sad to see a young mother making a fool of herself.

We took the Trolly in from Santee (northern most station if coming down from LA); free parking in Santee and you cannot beat the one-way fare of $2.50! You will also be in the short line back onto the Trolly to head north….the other line is huge so you will be glad! Only regret is that the stadium policies that are posted online and in effect during NFL games did not apply…..people had coolers, blankets, backpacks, etc. - had the policies for such been clear we certainly would've been warmer during the game (with our blanket!). Policies needs to have been more clearly posted on the Qualcomm website for attendee access. Also, Qualcomm was minimally staffed as compared to a Chargers game….and we noticed the drop in service level. However, the game itself was super exciting to watch and all the entertainment options were great = the bands, the flag, the Navy SEALS - all super fun!

The stadium was old, the restrooms were always crowded, not enough restrooms, prices were steep for a football game, I guess they were charging what they charge for Chargers game compared to a College game, but the game itself was outstanding as well as the introduction of the game and half time.

The venue is horrible but the game is generally awesome. I have been to about 6 Holiday Bowls in my lifetime and each game has been a great game. Don't go for the stadium, go for the enterntainment. Unfortunately you have to use Ticketmaster if you don't have connections and sometimes StubHub and others get expensive. But it is worth watching and going to. A very underated bowl game each and every year.

Row 2 in our section was actually the first row, with a walkway in which "security" staff were a major cause of the gridlock blocking our view. When it wasn't security and fans loitering in front of us, we had the fans immediately on the other side of the walkway standing to see over the band - again blocking our view of anything near the goal line. No wonder the Chargers want out of this ancient mausoleum. Everything about it is outdated. Even the LA Coliseum has more amenities and can be accessed with fewer hassles. Everything about this stadium screams - dump!

Disappointeddddddddddddd
The Holiday Bowl was a huge disappointment! The stadium is a complete dump and needs to be updated, renovated or completely replaced. The vendors ran out of food in the 3rd quarter except for nachos. The amount of souvenirs was pathetic. 2 T-shirts. 2 Sweat shirts and a few hats. Nothing for kids was available except a football. You need to make this an event people want to come to. Have some activities before the game for everyone to enjoy. Kick a field goal. Throw a football. Have some sponsored events. We got there 4 hours early expecting to have a lot of fun and all we did was walk around the parking lot until the gates opened. I would not recommend this game or stadium to anyone. The only positive were all the fans were great. Everyone was polite and enjoyed the game. Also glad the game was close. 45-42 kept all the fans in their seats.

This was the most boring match up that the Holiday Bowl has put on yet. They need to come up with more exciting teams or this is my last year as a season ticket holder. A fly over with a stealth bomber would have helped.

Parking spaces are limited for this Holiday Bowl game venue. So most likely you would park your car in the extended parking lots and access to Qualcomm via Green trolley line of San Diego Metro Transit. Returning to your parking will be a long standing lines about 15 to 20 minutes on a packed metro trolleys. Concessions for the games are something less to be desired. There aren't much to offer.

While the bowl game itself was fine, getting to the seats was an unfortunate and unnecessary adventure. From a difficult process just getting inside the stadium to unavailable or clueless ushers, it easily took 1 hour to get to the seats. We had built enough time, so we did not miss any of the game. However, we missed most of the pre-game festivities.

It took 1 hour from the time we arrived to the entrance gate to the time we entered the stadium. Each gate around the stadium had only one gate open with only 2 rent-a-cops searching everyone. A full body search just like a real cop! I was crushed in the crowd as there were thousands of people trying to get in. 1. Programs not available till 45 minutes after gate opened. 2. In second row of plaza level, near elevator, view constantly blocked by lack of security in preventing people from congregating in front of seats, as well as security people themselves blocking seats. 3. Nice fireworks. 4. Cheesy "spectacular" pregame featuring band that could not be heard on east side, when they played to the west. 5. Cheesy "spectacular" halftime, when many bands drowned out by loudspeaker music; in 43 years of attending college football games, I have never seen a more nonsensical spectacle. 6. Endzone: "San Diego" in team colors. Wow. They don't need to do that in Pasadena, Miami, Glendale, or any of the major bowls. Strictly bush league.

I have been going to Holiday bowls for years. The game was well presented but there are two suggestions. 1. Try to arrange for an earlier start time. It is highly unusual to be sitting at a football game after 11 PM. 2. Offer better access to tickets. I was in the section next to my regular seats for Charger games (season ticket holder for 29 years). I could not get my seats on the Holiday Bowl website even though they were empty at the game.

Overall the experience was good. Parking was easy in and out and even though the stadium isn't the greatest we still had a good time. I typically don't post reviews but maybe someone who matters will see this...I get the reason for the increased security, they were taking extra time to use metal detector wands and donan extensive search on every bag, which I appreciate. We have however been to other events at the Q in the past and this was very different from those events. I wish they would have advised fans in advance that this was going to take place. The additional security led to VERY long lines because nobody was anticipating the wait times. We happen to like to go in very early so the affect was only minor for us but many friends missed kick off as a result. Also, the game wasn't even close to sold out...I get that TV dollars speak loudly but I personally know at least 15 people who would have attended had the game not started at 7:30. I'm assuming many more would have come as well.

I've been to this stadium many times. A very nice venue, convenient for metro travel to the stadium. The stadiums sound system (piped music) was too loud during pre-game and half-time. The stadiums sound system overpowered and drowned out the participants marching bands, which is part of the entertainment of attending a live College Football Game. The Half-time show consisted of about a dozen or more High School Marching Bands, some from out-of-state. Unfortunately, as they took the field to play, the stadium cranked up piped-in music that drowned out the live music from the field. Very disappointing for the fans in attendance, as I'm sure it was disappointing for the friends and families of those band members as well. The contest itself was entertaining, long commercial breaks, which is the case for bowl games.

A solid college football game between the well known USC Trojans and a solid Wisconsin team. Great seats in the endzone, great game. My only issue is with the management of Qualcomm Stadium. I imagine they had a good reason, but we were stuck waiting for the gates to open, so a lot of dumb people bumping around outside the stadium, with no explanation offered from the stadium. Qualcomm never has the number of gates to safely equal demand, with low members for security staff for check-ins/pat downs.

It took 75 mins from the time that I approached the stadium and got on line to get through security causing me and many others to miss much of the first quarter of the game. Only 1 (of 8 possible) gate was opened at entrance B. Further there was no security in place to keep aggressive people from cutting the line resulting in a very angry crowd. To arrive one hour before the game and miss part of the first quarter is a disgrace. I would like to be contacted to discuss this further. In retrospect, it seems that much of the money that should have gone to security went into the fireworks display. Finally, every stoppage in the game action seemed to result in an advertisement or commercial. I could have stayed home if I was interested in watching commercials.
