Okay, we use lines from Kids In the Hall in our daily conversations whenever we can. We bought all the seasons on DVD and still watch them. Getting the Comedy Troupe on Tour is a brilliant move! We loved the idea that we recognize the skits, the roars of laughter thundering crashing washing over the audience like happy ocean waves. It was a magical memorable evening with my hubster. We realized we hadn't been to a theater event in over 10 years and we've been married for 20 years. Jiminy Crickets! We met in the theater ourselves. I was the stage manager/assistant director and he was the lighting guy and president of the juggling club. In the booth in the college theater our friendship was inevitable. It was a few years later that he invited me to sell everything I own, quit my job and go tour the country in a 1969 VW pop top camper bus. We've been inseparable ever since. Oh yeah, sorry guys got a bit side tracked with the review... you gotta go! I pray they come back to Minneapolis, MN again so we can get the word out to all of our friends that didn't know about it, but wish they had. We LOVE KITH!!! Thanks for coming to visit us guys! Safe travels and be well.

30 Helens agree, along with everyone else in the audience, the Kids In The Hall are still outrageous. The show was funny, edgy, timely, and classic. I have been a fan since the beginning and have seen them live 15 years ago. They remain one of the all-time best performance troupes around!

This is my second time seeing the Kids in the Hall live, and it was AMAZING! From a mega fan whose seen nearly every sketch from the original series, the performances were just as spectacular as they were in 1990. It was awesome to see a combination of old sketches (with subtle nuances), and brand new ones. The Kids (all but Mark) were also gracious enough to come out and meet their fans after the show. I can't wait for them to tour again!

Most of the show was new material and even the classic sketches have had some work done. The show ended up running a bit longer than anticipated due to some screw ups (some by the production crew and some by the Kids themselves), but these guys are such professionals, that they know how to work it into the show. They are truly improv artists! If you have an idea of what they are about from their TV shows (the original KITH sketch show and the Death Comes to Town mini-series) and from their movies, you can trust them to entertain you during this ~90 minute live show. As for when their sketches were going according to plan, the good thing is that the premise of their sketches are always so out there, that the punch line is never predictable. Enjoy!

The five man comedy troupe combined old and new skits to make for a memorable night at the Wilbur Theatre Friday night. They also added new twists to their old routines and broke each other up a few times which I love to watch. They started with an hysterical routine wearing wedding gowns and ended with an impromptu encore. Quick-witted, topical, warm, and funny, The Kids in the Hall cracked me up. A terrific show!

Event was awesome! Ran into Dave and Kevin on their way into the theater and got to shake their hands. They made a lot of mistakes and broke the 4th wall, but it made the show a lot more fun. (It's called "Rusty & Ready" for a reason). Mark poorly imitating a Boston accent was hilarious. Ending with an encore of "Running Fagg0t" was a nice touch, especially when Kevin came out with the redneck hat on too soon, and threw it back stage before he spoke. Definitely had a lot of fun.

It's always great to see the five members of Kids In the Hall together, and it seemed like they were enjoying themselves as well. I appreciated that they had new material they seemed to be trying out, which is always hit and miss, but even when something went wrong, it was quite funny to watch (which I think is a testament to how talented they are). They also threw in a couple of classic skits and characters as well. I know some people will probably complain that they didn't use more of the well-known material, but it's promising to see them working together again.

Like the tour shirts said "Rusty but Ready", there were some flubbed lines, missed cues and blocking problems, and I felt like I was at a dress rehearsal. Some favorite characters- Sir Simon Milligan and Hecubus, Chicken Lady, Gavin; Some new skits- 5 Men in Wedding Dresses, Brokeback Double Date, Blueberry Pie... I'm so glad I went. If you're a fan of KITH, you must attend. The guys looked like they were having fun, really enjoying themselves on stage. This was my 3rd time for a live show, and worth every penny! I hope they come back to the states so my friends can see them, tool. The show was slightly ruined by the ushers having to constantly tell morons to stop recording the show. Why these creeps weren't ejected is beyond me, because there were several repeat offenders.

I laughed, I snorted, I may have peed my pants from laughing so hard. Welcome back Kids!!! The lady to my right stank of body odor. The giant head of the man in front of me blocked my view. My date and I moved 2 rows up as there were plenty of empty seats behind us, and all the problems were gone. Once the unplesantness of my seat was exchanged for a less stinky, less blocked one, I was beyond happy. The show seemed to fly by and was brilliant, as expected.

I wouldn't say that I got my money's worth. They were on stage a little over an hour, and didn't bring back many of their best characters. If you think gay jokes are the epitome of humor, then this show might be for you, since 90% of the comedy revolved around this subject. Kevin McDonald and Bruce McKullogh were giving it 100%, Scott Thompson around 75%, and Dave Foley and Mark McKinney (especially) were just phoning it in. Scott Thompson's "Buddy" monologue was the highlight of the show. That character is still charming and sharp. Would have liked to have seen "The Kathys" or "Cabbage Head", but oh well. Also, it seemed as if a lot of this show was meant to be improv. Improv can work in a more intimate venue; the Majestic Theater was too large a stage to have almost no props or sets. Also, the forgetting of lines and the silliness of some of the staging was funny once or twice. For such a short show, it seems as if they could have it 'together' a little bit better. I will pass next time, but am glad I can say I saw them live once. Just wish I had paid a little less money.

I was very excited when I saw the ad for the kids in the hall on stage, and then sadly disappointed! Being a fan from the HBO years, I wasn't upset that they used the old material, I WAS upset that they did not feature chicken lady or the secretaries!! Kids in the hall in drag is the best!! The show was barely an hour long and I felt that for all the effort and expense I may have been better off staying at home watching TKITH on you tube.

What a great time! Very fun to see and just as I remembered. Great chemistry and reminds me of my college days. Bruce McColluch's Gavin and Scott Thompson's Buddy Cole were hilarious and untarnished by time. They are still irreverent and able to pull off some unPC things other comedians could not. Dave Foley's country doctor and of course, Kevin McDonald in drag with updates/adlibs was as funny now as it was back in the day. Perfect ending with Mark McKinney crushing the heads of members of the audience and the troop. When it was done, I thought it was too short, and then realized after checking the time, they were well over two hours. Time flew, that's how fun it was. However, I wished Sir Simon Milligan and Manservent Hecubus had shown up though, maybe next time.

The kids in the hall are brilliant. Still. Again their tour proves their complete understanding of human nature vs comedy. They're classic sense of timing and delivery carry the torch of all that's missing and irrefutable in the live sketch forum. Their troop interaction remains fresh fun and extinct. The show went by way too fast. The price you pay when you've mastered seamless streaming authentic humor. We wait forever for them to return and scratch that impossible itch and then poof, they're gone. Their intelligence and level of command is unmatched by those resorting to sheer shock for the mere sake of inappropriate. KITH execute pure rhyme and reason. Nothing else comes close. They need produce a musical and conquer all.

I always love the Kids in the Hall. I would easily be considered a super fan as I have incorporated their quips and bits in my everyday life since 1989! And not just "I'm crushing your head," but "We need to get an exorcist in here and this time I'm SERIOUS!" And the list goes on. The show I saw at Town Hall were last minute additions to their year-long tour (I saw essentially the same show a year ago in DC), and you could tell they were beat. Don't get me wrong, the show was funny; I LOL'd a LOT but the energy just wasn't there. Also, they had taken out at least one sketch I remembered from last year (the Chicken Lady's blind date!). Also, the sound at Town Hall was not great; Kevin's opening song about the history of the Kids in the Hall was muffled and you couldn't understand all the words, which is a shame. i would buy that on iTunes. I would!

As a fan of the 90's show I was happy to see all of the original actors performing skits again. They brought back a few classic characters but all the material was new. I was hooked from the very first sketch! The guys jumped right in and spared us from waiting through an opening act so the theater patrons around me were still in high spirits. The Kids ran through new material plus classic sketches that had been updated or that pushed the boundaries further than ever before. During the final few lines of one such sketch Mark suddenly decided to play his character as a drunk and once Scott called him on it and then joined in, the whole thing snowballed into hysteric laughter (from The Kids AND the audience). The show never slowed down and I enjoyed every second. Plus, the merch table was very reasonably priced.

For KITH fans, the skits never get old. Good use of classic characters in new situations. Not for the faint of heart.

I attended the show with my husband. We loved the show, best ticketmaster event I've ever attended. It will be hard to top this one! It was a great performance and I wish really hard they would stay on tour forever! And make more Kids in the Hall shows. They haven't lost it !!! Love you guys! Thank you for the brilliant performance!!!

As a Kids in the Hall fan for many years, I wondered how they would manage to fit in all of the many different sets and costume changes for the various skits they had planned. The answer is that the sets themselves were very minimalistic in nature, and the costume changes were far and few between. The main actors themselves still maintain the lionshare of talent they had before, albeit with guts and grey hair, when they aren't already receeding. Besides this, it is evident that they still have plenty of talent, and the show itself was a lot of fun. It seemed the actors were having plenty of fun as they performed each of their various skits.

I decided at the last minute to get a ticket, and I'm SO GLAD I went. They do a lot of old stuff, but also some new sketches that are just as amazing. Buy your ticket NOW, you won't regret it!!

Me and a friend were running late from St. Louis and made it to the second half. You may take this as a painful moment and you would be correct. The loss of any Kids hurts deeply! Mike cracks the door to the Chicago Theater and that anxious White Castle stir left my stomach. The guide flashlit two customers back to their rightful homes and we took our places. Me trying not to be uncomfortable in public seating seemed to fade out. THE KIDS IN THE HALL were on stage in front of me! A moment me an Mike dreamt about since the old Comedy Central SPF days in the 90's. We caught the whole group as wait staff, Danny Husk! and my personal favorite Sir Simon Milligan and Man Servant Hecubus. The latter including Kevin McDonald's finger spinning that left me breathless. All of this and an encore of Running Fa&&ot! All I can say now is I'm finally ready to seal my pits Sincerely, Sean the First

Unlike their 2008 tour, which relied heavily on video effects and, frankly, failed to engage me until about the 2nd half, this 2014 tour was just amazing. The Kids in the Hall, a few props, a minimum of costume changes and a nice mix of new & classic material. From start to finish the Kids nailed their performance and had the audience in stitches. One of the greatest comedy troupes of our age!

Every skit was hilarious! If you watched them in the 1990s, you'll know that they can do no wrong. I loved it when they started laughing, too. If you get a chance to see them, you must jump on it.

It has been a few years since the entire troupe has made their way through Chicago and they did not disappoint. The theatre itself was a bit of a stretch for the sketch comedy but that had nothing to do with the performances. A few well-loved sketches reoccurred (Chicken Lady's first date, Joymakers, etc) with some much-adored reoccurring characters (Buddy Cole, Sir Simon Milligan, Heckubus, Geralds, Gordon and Fran). But the second sketch was a song by Kevin McDonald to bring everyone up to speed on who they were and what they were trying to achieve. It worked well for the fans and the new audience members as a way to laugh while explain the history. After the show, Scott Thompson made an appearance to the fans that waited outside the stage door, professionally and honestly taking pictures and answering questions in true genuine fashion. Love for this troupe knows no bounds and it is still amazing to see the devotion of the fanbase as it grows and remains forever deeply loyal.

They did a great job of combining old (chicken lady and hecubus) and new. However, I would've loved for them to do a longer show and a few skits with old characters.

Hilarious sketches--it was great to see old characters! It was fun to watch familiar sketches and characters with a large group rather than on my TV--I enjoyed hearing the crowd's reaction when a character walked onstage. The Kids in the Hall were solid, and while they broke character here and there, it was not enough to ruin the show for me. I thought it was somewhat endearing, actually. I hope to see more new material from these guys soon! They reminded me just how talented, creative, and funny they really are.
