Erasure

ERASURE IN CONCERT:Nearly three decades after their debut, British synthpop duo Erasure continue to reign supreme on dance floors around the world. Combining the production skills of Vince Clark and the soaring vocals of Andy Bell, Erasure dominated European airwaves in the '80s and '90s with a massive string of hits that sound as fresh today as they did 25 years ago. Bell is a legendary live performer, maintaining an infectious energy and positivity as he lends his perfectly-preserved pipes to the love-drunk swoon of "Oh L'amour" and the uplifting message of "Chains of Love". The duo's unforgettable live shows never fail to spark impassioned dance parties among nostalgic fans, and their upcoming dates on the Violet Flame 2014 World Tour will be no different.

I thought the Ritz was overall a great venue, terrific bars and room to enjoy the stage from anywhere in the theater. However, the sound during Andy Bells's performance was spotty. When he spoke the words were so distorted many couldn't tell what he was saying. This changed somewhat when he sang, but also felt the back up singers were under miked. I'm not sure if the sound was Erasure's choice, or if they were limited to what was available at the venue.

This was my first time seeing Erasure after listening to their music for over 20 years...and the were absolutely out of this world. Vince never missed a beat or a note, and Andy look supurb moving effortlessly across the stage, while singing all the old favorites and many new songs, too. I cannot WAIT for them to come back.

Andy and Vince are true geniuses! Andy is acknowledged showman and he manages to wonder everyone with the use of his voice. He sang the whole setlist. and his voice remained powerful across all songs. Their new songs are great and their rendition of "A Little Respect" was astonishing. The only letdown thing: no merchandising at the end of the show. This really should not happen!

Erasure played the Ritz in Ybor City (Tampa) Wednesday night 8/31 and they were incredible. Andy Bell has not changed since the 80's, his voice as rich as it was over 20 years ago. He was very appreciative of the audience and was visually excited that they were being so well received by the crowd. Their new material was just as good as their classics. Go see them if you have the chance, it will be worth it!

I want to say this was my 4th time seeing them, but I could be wrong. They never disappoint me and the entire crowd! I bought these tickets the minute they went on sale, and before they were forced to add two more dates (before this night), but they had the energy to last and made it a memorable show! The set list was incredible, although I always wish Vince would do a Yaz song or mash-up of songs - wishful thinking, I know! This crowd was absolutely amazing - the guy behind me sounded like a member of the band and made it even more fun! Their music from the 80's is timeless in my little world, but I'm hopelessly stuck in the 80's musically! If Andy Bell can keep up that showmanship, he'll be putting other front men to shame in years to come - absolutely incredible and one of the few bands that I would see every time they tour! LOVE them!!!

Interspersing old hits and new songs, the band kept us happy with dance-able favorites and thoughtful lyrics. Even though Andy Bell was sick and Vince Clarke's flight was cancelled, Erasure proved why they have lasted so long, they are utter professionals and put on a 5 star performance! Blue Savannah, Always, and Break These Chains of Love were spectacular!

Great show, fun crowd. Standout songs were the classics like "Chains of Love", but I'm always interested in hearing the new material, as I assume most will never be heard from again. "Sweet Summer Loving" is a great song and I hope stays on the setlist for a while. The stage was awesome, looking like something out of Tron. The venue is one of my favorite in the city, although they did give me a little problem with using my digital camera. Not sure why it's an issue when it's not (1) a professional camera and (2) everyone has a digital camera on their phones now. The opening act was interesting, as all of their songs were related to science. The visuals made it memorable, but they played a bit too long.

Who doesn't LOVE Erasure!? How simple, Vince Clark, Andy Bell, some backup singers and great lighting. Simple. Easy. Classic. They played all their hits, unlike most who would push the new album. I've seen them a few times, they're such great artists! You had one terrible person hold up a DIGITAL CAMERA the whole time... extended arm length, when he wasn't doing that, recording the whole show from his camera, he was holding up his cell phone.

I have never been disappointed seeing Erasure, and this was another amazing evening! Andy Bell must have lost 10 pounds in sweat alone dancing around and he is a true performer! Erasure's show at the sold-out Fox Theater was amazing. It was my seventh Erasure show, and the best on since 1992. Andy, who admittedly looked slower and puffier the last I'd seen him, was svelte and danced like a much younger man. His voice was totally back in early 90s shape. Vince's music was impeccable. A good mix of hits, with some promising new stuff.

I've wanted to see Erasure for about 25 years, and now that I have, it was worth the wait! Andy Bell and Vincent Clarke manage to keep their songs fresh after performing them over and over for decades! The concert was so much fun, with the crowd totally getting into and singing right along! I was very impressed with Andy Bell singing one hit right after another without stopping, AND , he doesn't lip sync!! I go to a concert to hear the band, not to see what cheesy dance moves they can do,while a track is playing. Frankmusik, the young Brit who warmed up for Erasure was totally awesome. I am so glad i showed up on time to see him. I had never heard of him before, but really enjoyed his mash ups of his his songs with old classics. Check out his live performances on Youtube. This was one damn disappointing concert. Where to begin? The stage set could only be described as WTF? Futuristic shipwreck with gargoyles and some sort of celtic rose windows? Strange. The real problem of course was the music. Mostly an indistinguishable roar. Once the silicone ear plugs went in I could sort of hear some synth riffs and a bit of Andy Bell´s voice. Andy gave it his all, and Vince phoned it in. Even when Vince came downstage and strummed a guitar while Andy sang, there was simply no connection to the audience. A few highlights, THE INNOCENTS, DRAMA, and in an interesting move they let the very good backup girls shine on CHAINS OF LOVE. Too much of this concert was devoted to the new stuff which oddly enough has not been released yet. What I could hear of the new stuff sounded pretty boring.

First time seeing Erasure even though I have been a fan for 30 years. It was an incredible show. Gorgeous set design. Great sound. Andy Bell's voice is still amazing, and his charisma is infinite. Vince Clarke, that musical genius, was charmingly diligent doing what he does best. The energy they created continued after the show as fans refused to leave and continued to dance and sang in the atrium of The Fillmore. I actually give Erasure 5 starts They did a great job. Opening act (band) was just horrible. I was surrounded by people booing and simply staring at their phones I believe one of the two members walked off stage. Erasure turned all of that around and the Fillmore immediately was filled with amazing energy and love. Couldn't help but dance most of the show. Sound system could have been better I was in the 5th row. I hope to see more of Erasure on their tour!

I was so excited to see Erasure since I ve been a fan of their music forever. They did play all their good staples and I was not disappointed, but synth pop is not very exciting, the attempt to use the drag queens to juj it up was unsuccessful .(oy) Venue: I have not been to The Fillmore since it was Jackie Gleason Theater... you d think the acoustics would be fixed is they wanted to make it a music venue... the worst.

Caroline & Reed were just horrible. The entire audience boo d them and the stage manager came out and rushed them off the stage before they could finish their set thank gawd. Unfortunately, they performed for almost 40-45minutes. Erasure themselves was amazing. Andy Bell still can sing and hit all the high notes. They performed the majority of all their hits (except Star, unfortunately). They even performed a cover of Blondie s Atomic. It was an amazing show. So glad I went to see them. The Miami Filmore is not my favorite venue as they have different procedures every time I see an act there and the valet services are incredibly slow. But I would go there again to see Erasure!!

I was hesitant to go to New York City on New Year's Eve. I was also unsure about seeing a concert on NYE. Both were fine. The concert was amazing! Erasure played all their hits and few new songs for 2 hours straight. At midnight they dropped balloons and confetti. I danced and sang the whole time. This will be my New Years Eve tradition from now on!!!

Vince and Andy sounded as great as ever. Very nice selection of songs, energetic performance overall. The only reason I didn't give this five stars is due to the crappy venue seating arrangement.

Andy Bell was memorable and theatrical as we always love him. His voice brings me back 25 years ago...driving to the beach listening to Erasure. That energy by Andy, his two backups was unforgettable and makes you want more. Awesome concert in a small venue. If I could I would have seen him the 2nd night! I need more Chain of Love!!!

Erasure is my favorite group and it was amazing that BOOK OF LOVE was the opening act, they were great....and we got to celebrate 2014 NYE in NYC with Andy counting down to midnight ... we are showered with balloons and confetti... hard to top it unless they come back and play on a future New Year Eve!!

Terminal 5 was great. I must say being handicapped is not a good thing at the venue... it's difficult to see and no one was being helpful as giving me a view on the railing or allowing me into a vip section which I will buy if I return to the venue. The bar staff was nice.. and Erasure and Book of Love put on a great show... I am amazed at what ERASURE continues to do.. they are GREAT.. and Kudos to Book of LOVE.. short set with all hits.. not that's the way to do it.!!! Very nice evening..

AWESOME! One of their BEST concerts ever (and I've been to many in the last 20 years!)! Went to both concerts in NY and they were totally worth losing my voice for! It was pretty much a "Best of" concert. I wasn't entirely a fan of the venue though.

I was there to see Erasure. There were 2 other opening acts. One was a dj which was fine & the other was a duo group that I did not care for. The female singer's voice was very low & harsh. Erasure was really good. They've been around since the 80's & have many years of experience touring which you can tell. There was no glitch & their transition from one song to the next was great. They do have a lot more popular songs which I wished they played & could have gone longer without the 2nd opening act. I also liked the venue cause it was small & you can be at the way back & still have a great view rather than some big concert venues that are obnoxiously big like Madison Sq Garden. I also liked that they crowd was older (30-50's) no teeny bopper kids.
