COURAGE is this MAN and this band who are showing the world..... This is how it's done! Singing IT'S A GOOD LIFE IF YOU DON'T WEAKEN with so much GRACE. With my heavy HEART, I am full of sadness, however, the energy and light I witnessed tonight was A BEAUTIFUL THING -- FULLY and COMPLETELY . It's was an honour, to once again be in the presence of these amazingly talented and legendary Canadian Artists Cheer's to THE TRAGICALLY HIP and to you, Sir GORD DOWNIE- A True Icon YOU most certainly ARE AHEAD BY A CENTURY I am Proud to be Canadian!!!

The crowd remained standing the entire show. Tears flowed. Gord's emotion was felt by the entire room, he gave it his ALL. More than one Encore.. We were thanked whole heartedly for the years.. the best concert of my life. Was so lucky to be there for the final tour.

Amazing energy, it felt like everyone in the entire club was singing every word to every song. The Hip aways does a great job of playing most of their new album and still hitting the classics for the diehards. Best live band I have ever seen. "Poets" live and the CD version are like two completely different songs. I've seen the Hip at least ten times in various cities in the U.S. and they have always been amazing (and they play to much smaller crowds in the U.S. than in Canada).

Mixing both new and old favorites, the "Hip" still surprise me with how talented they are every time I catch them live. The sound quality and level at the Vic was great. Taking a line from one of their songs, "Quickly, something familiar..." would have liked a few more of the "oldies" ...the new album has a slightly 'country' feel that I don't think is one of my favorite interpretations from them. However, true to their roots, they are not afraid to experiment just a little with new textures, so even a song I don't like always sounds awesome in concert.

I love it when the Hip comes to visit Southern California, the venue is small and you are spitting distance from the band, the concert was awesome, they played all of my favorites, Eric McCormick was right beside me with his wife (Will from Will & Grace show). In my opinion the Troubadour is too small of a venue for them, the place was jam packed and nowhere to stand comfortably, kind of wish they would play back at the House of Blues on Sunset and have Dan Aykroyd introduce them as he did a few years ago. Other than that it was a great concert!

The band never stops amazing it's fans with their music. The show was fantastic. I was glad to see no opening act. With the catalog of music that they have, there is no reason. The energy coming from each member of the group, song after song, was great. Of course, every night with the Hip is a new, different show. One of the few bands that will change up it's set every night. You never know for sure what or when in the set to expect something!!! Long live the Hip!!!!

I thought the band was really great. Played a lot of good songs, old and new, and they were all very energetic. The problem was the band had requested that the air conditioning be turned off during the show. There was absolutely no ventilation at the House of Blues and it was hot as hell. Every one was sweating and my boyfriend, who was the real reason we went to the show, had to leave after about 45 minutes. The heat was just unbareable. And to pay over $70 for two tickets to only see part of the show because the physical conditions were so awful really sucked. I don't think I'd recommend this band unless they were playing an outdoor venue or the band allowed the air conditioning to be turned on in the summertime.

I'm originally from Toronto, Canada and have been a huge Hip fan for years. It was unbelivable being able to see them at The Vic. In Canada they fill big venues so this was a real treat. They are a very diverse band with a sound of their own and an hoot of a front man. They have great rock tunes and some really great mellow tunes as well. The musicianship is excellent and the lyrics are interesting to say the least. If you are just discovering The Hip then start off with the following CDs. Let them grow on you, you'll be hooked. Up To Here Road Apples Fully Completely The new CD, We Are The Same, is great as well but much more mellow by comparison. I highly recommend getting into The Hip!

Recently saw the Hip and as usual, they put on an amzing show. The only dissapointment is they will not be back to the Midwest anytime soon.! They are known for their live shows and they did not dissapoint. They played for hours with just the right amount of new and old material and Gord worked the crowd like a master. Don't miss the Hip if you get a chance to see this band!

Another awesome Hip show. Love these guys live. The acoustic set was an awesome addition and it's great to hear some of the old favourites (such as Flamenco and Eldorado) resurface during the show. The new songs from WE ARE THE SAME are incredible and I still am haunted by Gord's voice singing "Now the Struggle Has a Name" and "Depression Suite". An incredible evening...as always!

I have seen The Hip many times, but only once or twice at a venue as intimate as the Troubadour. Still, you would have thought Gord was playing to an Arena -- amazing energy, classic rants -- and the rest of the band certainly kept up with him. After a brief break, they came back with a few amazing acoustic numbers before building the energy back up again. The crowd, filled with plenty of die-hard fans, sang along throughout the show.

I started listening to when I moved to Canada and have seen them in a large venues there as well, 10,000 - 20,000 people. Got an email from some friends that they would be playing the Troubadour and jumped on the opportunity to see them in such a small setting. Got there early and was suprised how small the venue was, got to the top level and took a seat and waited a short time for the band to come out. No opeining act just two great sets of most standards and a few new songs. Majority of crowd was Canadian but quite a few Locals, including my cousin that had never heard of the Hip before. Not going to get into set list or exact songs but the show, how the band interacts with each other and with the crowd was great in a large arena, in a venue of about 300 it was fantastic. With the great music, the overall feel of the venue and vibe this was one of the best concerts I have seen in 5-10years.

The Tragically Hip came to the world famous Troubadour for three straight nights in early June. A small venue for them, even this far south. "The Hip" are rock Gods in Canada and it seems the further south they travel, the more mortal they become. I was grateful to see singer Gordon Downie at his most honest and vulnerable. It was nice to see him risk so much and to gain more than lose. I wish I could have caught all three nights. Maybe next time. No, next time for sure.

I've been following The Hip since 1989 and this was undoubtably one of the best shows i've witnessed to date. The sound was crisp and the band was tight! Really enjoyed this show even though we arrived about 30 minutes late. It was very easy to get in and out of Massy Hall. Seats were on the right balcony so I was worried they wouldn't be good, but they were fantastic!!! We were literally less than 20 feet from the band! The band alternated between songs from their new album with classic songs and it was magic! Every live Tragically Hip show is a gift to be savoured and cherished and remembered for years to come. It was an amazing night at the MTS Centre to see the "final" Hip show. The crowd was deafening and the band was as good musically as they have ever been. Gord may not have roamed quite as far on stage but his antics were as engaging as ever. We all have our own personal connection to this band and their music so I only know what it meant to me to be there. I took my brother and sister to their first, and now last, Hip concerts - what an amazing privilege. Almost held it together until I saw Gord kiss all his bandmates and I realized just how final it all really is. Thanks for being a part of the soundtrack of my life - I will take the memory of this and all my other Hip experiences forward into my future.

Truly unforgettable. An emotional journey from start to finish, where Gord Downie led us all on a trip through decades of brilliance, with lyrics and melodies that have real meaning, and hold memories for the band, their followers, and our entire country. I saw just as many emotions on Gord's face as I was feeling myself, from elation, to sadness, to the realization of what has yet to come. My only complaint is that it ended way too soon. #ingordwetrust

The energy and love in Rogers arena was amazing, everyone could feel it and everyone contributed to it. When the band came out the crowd roared, when Gordie hit the stage the goosebumps and tears started to flow all around and the roar became deafening. Launching into Twist My Arm, one of my all time favorites, to start an epic set list that had so many gems and surprises mixed in. Nobody wanted it to end. As Gordie stood alone at the end, the crowd stood with him, and though he said very little the look on his face let us all know he loved us too, and was sad to see us go. An icon in every sense of the word. God Bless The Tragically Hip and Gordon Downie!

The show was increadable. Went with me husband, who is a big fan, and he loved it. Music sounded great however there were a few times when singing could not be picked up through the mic. The show was well worth the 10 hour drive we had to make to see it. Only wish was that it was longer as only 1 of my husband's favorite songs was played. I would rate the shoe 4.5 if star system would allow this.

The Tragically Hip are the best live act I have ever seen! They sound exactly the same live as they do on their recordings. Gord Downie is a great showman and always entertains to the crowd. This was the eighth and final time I will have seen them and every time they give you your money's worth and more. The love that Gord showed for the crowd and that the crowd showed for Gord and The Hip was very obvious. It was a very emotional night as I grew up listening to this band. Hearing them and seeing them live reminds me of all the great times I have had listening with friends, going to their concerts together and appreciating their truly great music. It's a bittersweet time as the concert was fantastic but knowing this will be the last time to see them is tough to handle. I am Fully, Completely a fan of The Tragically Hip! Once again The Tragically Hip have out done themselves. The acoustics were perfect and they sounded incredible. My 10 year old attended the show. It was her first concert experience. They really treated her well; Gord S gave her a water, the drummer gave her his sticks and Gordon Downie gave her lots of attention. The venue was so comfortable and all together it was a 'Walt Disney World' concert experience for her and me. I've seen the band probably 25 times and hope to see them 25 more. Hip, hip hip...

I just saw The Tragically Hip last night in Austin. Like so many fans, I've grown up with this band and seen them dozens of times. I love their music. But last night the unthinkable happened. I left before the show ended! I tried. Believe me, I tried to stick it out because leaving felt like treason. But with each song I got more and more bothered by Gordie to the point where I just couldn t take it anymore. Something really bad is happening here. Before I try to explain this, I should point out the band sounded excellent as usual. (If not perhaps a little bored looking but hey, it s been a long tour). As a few other reviewers have described, Gordie doesn t actually sing anymore. He chants, rants, talks and yells through each song with such unnecessary theatrical flair, the whole thing is completely distracting. It was like watching some bizarre, Broadway stage show parody of his once-cool self. He started down this path several years ago. But back then it only surfaced during a few songs, like Grace, Too. It's typically their opening number and an awesome song. Gordie started yelling through it and people still went nuts. Unfortunately, now he does this with every song. It used to be you'd go to a Tragically Hip show and sign along. Most die hard fans know every word to every song. I looked around last night and it was like an episode of the Twilight Zone. People were trying to sing, but seemed suddenly confused as to whether they actually knew the songs. Gordie randomly screamed the words using his own bizarre melodies and phrasing that only vaguely sounded like the originals. It breaks my heart to say the soul of the music was just gone. I love the Hip. I'm bummed out today. I ve written many positive Hip reviews over the years. This makes me very sad to write. Anyone who says the show last night in Austin was good has either never seen them before or blinded by patriotic devotion.

If there is one band that my friends and family associate me with, its The Tragically Hip. Last night marked the 23rd time I have seen them live. Unfortunately, these days I go to every Hip show nervous about the same thing: How far off the rails is Gord Downie going to go? As I fell in love with the Hip's music throughout the 90s, they were unmistakably the greatest live rock band out there. Show after show was pure magic - fun, moving, thought provoking, transcendent. Shortly after the turn of the millennium however, Gordie started down a path that has only continued to this day: He stopped singing. He became more involved in his stage antics, "dancing", shouting and chopping up every vocal line than in the music itself. All of the subtlety, nuance, and meaning of the music has become an afterthought, rather than a catalyst. The heart and soul is missing. And yet, every time they come to town I dutifully go to the show hoping to feel some of that old magic again. There was no magic last night. Every song was completely butchered by Gordie from start to finish. Butchered. Even a song like "Wheat Kings" devolved into a heartless spectacle. Gordie has become a scripted, melodramatic caricature of himself. The poet mythos swallowed up by the overly exuberant performer who is completely independent and disconnected from the music and the rest of the band. It is hard to witness. For their part, the rest of the guys played well and the music was spot on, even if it was performed with a hint of cold duty and annoyance (embarrassment?) for their own lead singer. As Gordie famously thanks the "music lovers" at the end of every show, maybe its time for him to realize that, as music lovers, we are in fact there for the music, not just the Gord Downie circus act.

So I asked, prepared to pay for the upgrade and the guy GAVE US SEATS ON THE FLOOR! Yes! So nice to surprise yer gal like that! The title Fully Completely kind of says it all. The Hip put on an unforgettable show! Gord rocked the stage... Obviously! We had a fantastic time... The only bad part about it was we got there at 7:30 because our tickets said the show started at 8, apparently the tickets were wrong, it actually started at 9. My Boyfriend wanted to go for a smoke before the show since we were early, and they told him if he left he would not be allowed back in. He was pretty bummed and it did bother the experience for him a little. If we knew that earlier, we would have come later or picked up some gum or something for him!

The show was a mix for me. The setlist was good. My seats were great (8th row, left center Orchestra). The problem was the mix. Grace Potter was ok. And even though the storm ended the show after 5 songs from the hip, it was still a good show. Even better now that I have the new tickets for the rescheduled show that now includes flogging molly!!! Only downside was the parking and trying to leave was a nightmare! We decided to wait out the initial traffic rush to get out. Good thing we did! The car that tried to leave in front of us did not move even an inch for 45 minutes! The venue was bad ...Outer Harbor has one way in and one way out. Took us one hour to move 1 mile. Grace Potter was great. The Hip had to cancel due to bad weather. Hopefully they will not use that venue again when they reschedule. I say NO to Outer Harbor concerts epically VIP tickets. We paid 108.00 and people who pd 56.00 had better viewing. VIP was supposed to be closer, not so!

Although they got through just a few songs this was an amazing concert. Grace Potter rocked the house with her opening act. When the rain finally came, Gord stayed out on the stage, trying to weather out the storm, even telling jokes. I've been to other rained out concerts before and the bands tour bus was gone almost as immediately as the rain started. Not this band, Gord stood out in the pouring rain, upset that he couldn't continue to play. I've heard that they are under NO contractual obligation to give us a make up date, however TTH says they will! What an awesome freaking band with love for their fans.

I flew in from South Carolina to see this concert with my family and WOW was it an experience. I felt the venue was pretty sweet overall. Lots of room, tons of beer tents, plenty of bathrooms, and right next to the water. The Hip played one song prior to a huge storm coming in. Several of my cousins and I were fairly close to the stage cheering the band on when all of a sudden it started to pour. We were completely soaked in a matter of seconds. Gord and the band attempted to continue to play, but some of the crew ushered them off stage. Shortly after Gord came out and chatted for a few and ended up doing two acoustic numbers which were totally awesome. They had to cancel the concert at that point since the storm was about to hit again and their equipment was badly damaged. I am so happy that the band agreed to come back for a later date. I was sad to only see them for a short amount of time, but it was such an awesome experience to hear them play as the rain was pouring down. I am so glad I was there.

A great live show in one of my favorite venues. I would've preferred that they played more of their hits & less of the new songs, which don't thrill me.

The show itself was incredible!!! Gord Downie has such amazing energy and stage presence....words cannot express how entertaining he was. The band sounded great, put on a fabulous show, and kept the music flowing. The venue type was the perfect setting for this group, as they are suited for a more intimate crowd, but for me PERSONALLY as a person with a bad back, I was in absolute agony standing for the time it took waiting to get in until the show was over....which ended up being about 4 hours. I can't fault the band for that though. I knew what I was potentially getting into. I would ABSOLUTELY see them again, although I would have to take a few extra minutes to think about it if it was Upstate Concert Hall again, or anywhere that 'standing room only' was the only option.

This was the fifth time that I have had the privilege of seeing The Hip and it was my first time seeing them without having to drive all the way to Boston. The show was SPECTACULAR!!! They dug deep into their vast catalog and sprinkled their new hits throughout the set. Gord Downie is a great deal of fun to watch. His improvisation and banter are always highlights of any Tragically Hip show. The audience at Hip shows are my favorite type of audience. They are respectful and want to have a good time. The music, the happy faces, the joyous singing along to the songs we all know by heart, and the laughter when Gord says something funny are why I keep coming back to The Hip. They are my favorite band.

Since my marriage 16 years ago, my wife and I have following the Tragically Hip. We have found you either love them or have no idea who they are. Their live shows are nothing short of spectacular. They give it all every show, the sound is so good, they are so in sync with one another. They truly are a great band! They rocked Rochester as always. Starting and ending the show with two songs you wouldn't expect. Playing several songs from the early years and just truly giving their fans a wonderful evening.

The Hip came to Buffalo's Harbour and put on a great show! Gord and the band played a super set list and being up front just right of the stage was the closest I have been to a show in years. The band seemed to enjoy themselves as did the 11,000 fans attending. A beautiful night out listening to The Hip!

I must say that The Tragically Hip was a great show! With a great crowd! And an amazing venue! They Rocked! The Arkells that played were great too! The Buffalo Harbor is so beautiful. The venue only holds 3K people so it was just perfect in regard to the crowd factor. The bathrooms were plentyfull and clean. There was fireworks over the water in the evening during the show. It was one of the best venues I have ever been too. And I got some great pics!

Amazing!, a band one must see and (or) add to their bucket list. My sister and I have been attending concerts since 1971 and have seen an array of great bands over the years. In 2009 I had the opportunity to see The Hip in Pittsburgh and was blown away as to how good they were. I asked the Canadian man seated next to me "are they always this good" and his reply was "NO, they are usually better"....Well the show at Caesars was that better show, wonderful music and vocals and probably one of the best light shows in the business. My wife and sister sat centre stage row 5 and afterwards couldn't say enough about the band and their music having never seen them prior. They along with my brother-in-law are now Hip fans. Having lived in SE Michigan we are able to pick up the Windsor stations where Canadian bands get their fair share of air play, sadly US stations ignore so many of the excellent Canadian acts out there. By far this show ranks in the top 5 concerts of all time!

Opened with New Orleans is Sinking -- great way to get the crowd rev'd up right out of the gates. Although, after the Canucks had just beat the Kings in a shoot-out at Staples, most of the crowd was already in pretty good spirits. I saw them earlier this summer, at the Troubadour. While it was great to see them at such intimate venue, the sound at Club Nokia last night was MUCH better. And Gord definitely satisfied the crowd with his customary rants & diatribes. Very fun show, as always.

I had always heard these guys put on an amazing live show! The rumors are true! Gordon Downie is a charasmatic lead singer, dancer and actor! He keeps the audience engaged and interacts with them! In my book, that's always a plus! And they seem genuinely grateful for and appreciative of their fans ... even in a small venue like The House of Blues. After having seen them for the first time, I now know why they sell out in huge arenas in Canada. One of the best concerts I've ever been to! Maybe even THE best!

It was an amazing show. They opened the second set with Courage... acoustic. It was a great setlist. best ever. They just kept hitting us with amazing song after amazing song. they'd finish one, start another and I'd say "WOW... Yes! Giftshop!...OH GOD... Long time Running". But the most amazing part was during "blow at high dough" when he came off the stage and right thru the crowd shouting "Blow, Blow" with the microphone and holding it up to everyone he passed to shout it back until he ran out of mic cable 2/3rds toward the back center of the theatre while standing on the seats.

My cousin Bob and I drove all the way from Philly to Ottawa to see the Hip. Bob had never seen the Hip live, so of course, we listened to their entire catalog on the ride up. Studio recordings never do them justice so I played all the live recordings I had too. Bob was pensive, and I was sure he'd be blown away. When we arrived in Ottawa Friday night we went out and got drunk. Decent city in which to do that, I must say. Saturday morning we went straight to the Nat'l Arts Centre to pick up up the tix. As we walked outside, tickets in hand, who is walking by with his wife and son (ostensibly) but Gord Downie himself. I was paralyzed with awe. I knew it would be a special show. It was. Seeing the Hip in Canada was a different experience than seeing them in Philly. Not only were the special effects and stage more elaborate and massive, but the crowd was exponentially larger and more enthusiastic. I felt proud, like I was at home, in a special club of people who can hang. But really, everyone in Canada loves the Hip. I feel cooler in America.

Gordon Downie gets better with age - must've drank 3 red bulls before the show! He waded through the crowd up to row T, 2 away from us! He danced like a crazy man, entertaining all nite! His microphone could've been EQ'd warmer, a little thin sounding. Next time I'll buy tickets on the side sections, to be closer to the stage. I was in the middle but further back. The band picked a wide selection of songs, great deep album cuts!

Amazing amazing amazing .. what an awesome show, energy pored out of this one of a kind band. This was truley the best show I think I have ever been to of any band. We stood only inces away, Gordon Downie handed out water bottles to the crowd because it was so hot. I will be first in line when they come back through this way!

...keeps this from being 5 stars. The temperature in the Wonder Ballroom had to be at least 120* F. It was freaking hot. So hot that the walls and ceiling were sweating. However, the show itself was unfreakinbelievably amazing. I've been a fan for a number of years and have never had the opportunity to see the Hip until now. My wife and I had a fantastic time, despite being drenched when we left.

High powered Hip show. Hardly any banter from Gord- missed that as he usually has a lot to say between songs!-- Maybe due to early show start of 7:30 to accommodate HOB dance night @10:30 -(Band site said 8 and many folks were late) -- Songs and setlist were strong as usual and good sound mix-last Hip show at HOB guitar was lost in mix- 1:45 length show ending @ 9:15 but felt short/rushed.

Ok, I accept that I am older and I haven't really followed this band since the early 90's but they weren't good. Sorry. I really wanted them to be good, it was a surprise for my birthday. But, the sound was horrible, the lead singer is way too weird and narcissistic and not in a good lead singer kind of way. The Canadians were all very nice and fun to hang out with but do you guys really need a song about hockey??? I should have just gone to see Kinky Boots.

The weather was beautiful, the Beacon Theater was beautiful, and the Canadian crowd was stoked to see the Hip re-live "Fully Completely" at the first of two US stops. I travelled from the Virginia Coast to see the event and spend the weekend in the Big Apple. What a great show to start the weekend. It snowed right after the show and the city was equal to the event in all it's spender. Wonderful screen backdrops to the songs and the whole place partied hard! Hope the band gets back out on the US road again soon. Miss you guys and your music. Safe Travels HIP and thanks for the party tunes. The Beacon is an incredible reconditioned theater!! I had always heard of the annual Allman Brother shows. Will definitely return to the Beacon on my next visit.

The Hip were awesome. The Fully Complete album is one of my favorites. Love the Hip. Unfortunately, TicketMaster sold me a ticket with limited / obstructed view without letting me know in advance. We spent the whole show move left and right trying to see around the scaffolding they set up behind the sound board. Kind of unfortunate. We traveled all the way from Kansas City to see The Hip just to learn that Ticketmaster was not forthcoming.

The acoustics at the venue are amazing, and the band sounded absolutely awesome. They have been together for so long that every song is just perfect. They sound every bit as good in person as they do in the studio. I won't ever pass up the chance to see them again. It's especially fun to see Canadian bands in Canada, and Caesars Windsor is a great venue. Top notch show!

Gord is a phenomenal front man and the band sounded great. Being a young women born and raised in Windsor, I was a little disappointed in how the audience behaved. There were two fights, one of which Gord him self tried to split up which almost caused him to walk off stage. There were also items being thrown on stage and one almost hit Gord, he actually had to duck it. I'm happy they've decided to return and I hope we can conduct ourselves with more class and pride.

The music selection for the set was very good. The band sounded good. The sound quality of the vocals was very poor. Even when Gordan Downie wasspeaking in the Mic you could not understand what he was saying. I hear this was a problem on the 1st 2 shows - wondering why this was not resolved by the 3rd show.
