We had front row seats and it was so fun to see the way Imogen creates her unique sound. She is super duper talented and very personable and fun too. Very very memorable concert, and I will go any time she comes to town. If you ever have a chance to see her... TAKE IT!!!

This was the best thing I have ever been to my whole entire life! Imogen is really a true entertainer, because she has a level of interaction with the fans that is unlike any other artist, and it makes the whole experience better. Humphrey's also has great seating. I was in row 12, and I heard that the farthest seat away from the stage was 110 ft, which is not bad, considering other venues I have been to. Also, I loved how Humphrey's had people going around taking drink orders and bringing it directly to your seat. Also, Ben Christophers and Geese were amazing! I really loved their sound. It was very unique and had an ethereal quality to it. The whole experience was absolutely amazing and I wish I could relive it!

I definitely have a new found respect and love for Imogen Heap. The way the stage was set, her playfulness, to of course the music all played in to what made an amazing show. I guess before the shows, she started doing a poll online of what songs each city she went to wanted to hear the most. I thought that was a really awesome idea and have never really seen any other artist do t hat before. I was lucky because I heard all my favorite songs! She was really into getting the audience involved in the whole show. At a few points she actually had us singing along with her and made up our own song that we could later purchase to benefit a local charity. I was surprised in so many ways, I've never seen and artist like her and am definitely going to see her the next time they come around.

Imogen was amazing! I was so happy she performed, especially considering that she'd cancelled the previous day due to illness. This was my first time attending an Imo concert and I was pleasantly surprised to see her come on stage to introduce her opening acts, while she was still in the process of hair and makeup. She was so normal, for lack of a better word, and i felt like she was addressing us as her group of friends, rather than an audience. Imo sounds just like her albums. What's amazing is to watch her put everything together - all the electronics she uses. You can see the passion in her movements as well as listening to her voice. She's really unique and I love that. The only reason that i did not recommend amazing was that she seemed a bit unprepared for the concert - which she admitted- as she had not practiced as much as she'd wanted. She was also really nervous and forgot the words in songs a few times. Admittedly it was quite cute to see her get nervous, as any of us would if we were performing for so many people, but at the same time, I'd come expecting to see an artist who was used to performing. So, it was a tiny bit frustrating, but again Imogen is an amazing singer. Her voice alone is just so beautiful. I thoroughly enjoyed the concert and definitely recommend you attend, especially if you like to see how she makes music, visually, versus auditory.

The concert was cool, but there was so much downtime between songs that most of the energy and excitement got lost instead of built up. I definitely enjoyed seeing a very real side of putting together music and wouldn't want that gone completely though. The best way I can think to describe it would be to say I wish there was about 50% more preparedness. Also, a lot of people toward the back seemed to be complaining that the mic wasn't turned up enough. The mic was actually fine during the music - it's only between sets when there was a lot of mumbling, trying to remember lines and checking equipment where the audio was a little low. During the first opening act I had a hard time understanding the lyrics to the songs - both problems probably could have been fixed with better sound testing and planning though. If all this stuff gets cleaned up once the tour is in full swing, definitely yes go see it. If not, it'd be hard for me to recommend it. Tim Exile was great and is the reason I decided to say Yes on the bottom line that I'd recommend this event. I would have enjoyed the event overall even more from the balcony where I could see what's going on on stage a little better and have a seat. It just wasn't the kind of "push your way to the front of the stage" event I'm used to, but something to enjoy in a more relaxed and casual way.

Imogen Heap is like a mad scientist, trotting around the stage twisting knobs, pushing buttons, and singing in beautiful, haunting tones. She admitted to being less-than-prepared (coming off a flu sickness), but her humor, charm, and childlike sense of play more than made up for any lyrics she may have forgotten, or songs she may have had to start over. She treated us to almost 3 hours of raw, stunningly beautiful music. Along with her for the tour are friends Tim Exile and Back Ted-N-Ted, electronic musicians who'd be worth the price of admission alone. Too bad the venue was standing room only; watching her in a makeshift, love-crazy mosh-pit was probably fine for most, but a few people cut out early due to sore legs and backs.

It was awesome to see Imogen for my second show of hers. I saw her I think two years ago at the Wiltern and it was my FAVORITE show I've ever been to! She was totally ON! Last night's show was more intimate because of the smaller venue. She basically said she was working out the kinks for her new songs and intruments/equipment, so I'm definitely looking forward to seeing her next April (she hopes) when everything's worked out and maybe it'll be a bigger venue---I think her music carries better in a larger place and the visuals complete the show, which were hard to see from the extreme right side of the standing room floor. Good stuff!

The wonderful, surprising thing about Imogen Heap was how human she was onstage. She made mistakes during one or two songs. She was just coming off sickness so she felt her voice wasn't all there. But through it all she was personable, hilarious and entirely, unforgettably human.

The first show of Imogen's "Ellipse" tour was brilliant, as her concerts always are. She played most of the new album as well as plenty from "Speak for Yourself." Can't wait till the next time I get to see her.

Imogen is clearly very talented live (my first time seeing her as such) but it was the first night of the tour, and as she stated...a learning experience for the rest of her shows. It was pretty funny watching her fumble a bit and get her bearings and share it with us all right there; it was as if we were chillin' in the studio with her. Her music was great, her vocals were great and her overall personality is awesome; she'd be fun to know. Her band-mates were her opening acts and sadly, they were both horrible. The other downside to it all is that The Music Box at the Fonda Theater is standing room only (floor) and so 3+ hours was FAR too long after lining up outside as well. It was treacherous standing for so long through the awful openers and then Imogen not starting until almost 10:30...she played for almost 2 hours though; would've been better to have spared us the first hour or so of not-her. :)

as brilliant as imogen is and of course quirky and lovable to all her fans, i cannot believe how poor her show at music box last night was. in short, i am wondering why we paid full price tix for a 'rehearsal'. she mumbled incessantly in between songs projecting here every neurotic thougtht and didnt seem to have any idea what she was doing - there were not any 2 songs that flowed into each other - every song stopped with a 5 min pause in between. its a pity, when she finally pulled out her keytar and performed 'hide and seek', it was a magical moment but many people had already started leaving, and understandably so. unfortunately, the only lasting energy for me and my five friends was a feeling of frustration and neurosis from a very poorly planned performance. i'll take comfort in her records and never go to another show again.

Hands down this was one of the best live performances I've seen in a long, long time. It wasnt polished, but those additional candid start/stops added to the charm of the show. We could have stayed and listened to her play for another few hours... simply stunning. My only complaint... and I'm sure this more on the venue vs. Imogen... was the general lighting person. This person operating the basic white lights/spots along the front of the stage seemed to have no clue how to operate the equipment. Multiple times Imogen or the opening artists were walking into dark spots that remained dark for more than a few moments. It's rare when lighting can be that distracting and take you out of the moment, but in this case it did several times.

Imogen Heap was probably one of the most talented artist I have ever seen in concert. She played about 20 instruments. Even though she was unprepared and repeatedly explained that to us, it was probably one of the best shows ever. She took the time to interact with the audience. I cannot wait until she comes back in April!!!!

The tickets said that their would be seating? yet we had to stand for 4 hours..the pain, the agony....i actually like and respect imogens music, but I could not understand a word she was saying and neither could the people next to me...lol..i think it was due to the english accent, she wasn't speaking to clearly a lot of the time, it was somewhat fast and mumbled... I really liked how she got the audience involved in her songs though, that was great. Pity about the standing for 4 hours and not being able to understand her words...

I've seen Imogen a few times and this round of shows brings her to audiences on ax\\ higher plane than ever before. On stage with a head mic and wrist mics to match, she is backed by a band that includes a man on drums that is her equal at juggling multiple things at the same time. The sound was incredibly full and, like always, the atmosphere of the Greek just added to the electric night. I see enough concerts in a year to pay someone's salary at Ticketmaster. I haven't been moved by a show like this in a long time.

This was my 3rd time seeing Imogen in concert and she is always so amazing! She was especially interactive with the audience and her band/tech guy and really considered what the audience wanted into her performance which was really different and generous of her--though I think the audience would have been just as happy had she not! Her voice is so unique and beautiful and it is so cool to see how her composition of songs comes together in a live setting. Her music is even more amazing to hear live than on her albums--you just have to be there! She is not one to miss!

This is the second time we've seen Imogen Heap performed. The first time was so incredible that we had to bring our 4 kids (26-30) & 2 son-in-laws. Imogen's brilliant, imaginative (small word for her gift) and powerful presence is captivating at the least. There is so much musical talent in the world today, and then there is Imogen Heap! I'm a young 51 years old, and I have seen many performances over the years (I.E. Fleetwood Mac, Rolling Stones, Journey, JT, Steve Miller, Deep Purple, Snow Patrol, etc., etc., etc.), but none compare to this.

I wasn't sure what to expect from her seeing as how she uses so much electronically and her music is so technically complex. I thought she might not have that same magical quality in person...BOY was I wrong! From the very beginning of her concert she was interacting with the audience, making sure we were really having a good time. She liked to sing out to us (as in leave her equipment and come to the front of the stage), which was cool. She had the most awkward dance moves, but you could just tell she LOVED what she was doing! She was so personable and her music was WAY BETTER live! There were only a few things she couldn't do like she does in her studio, but the way that she improvised with us was so creative and interesting. AND HER VOICE...MOTHER! It was SO GOOD! Definitely worth seeing live...you just wanna take her home in your pocket!

I literally could not stop clapping and screaming "amazing." Imogean sounded as wonderful live as she does recorded. Geese and Ben Christophers were also amazing. Imogean's voice is so pure and angelic, and the crowd participation was so fun and interesting! The tabernacle is an awesome concert venue. We stood (you can either stand or sit in a balcony). I could not believe how close we were to the stage. Don't wear high heels (just a tip)-in case you do decide to stand to get a better view. I was skeptical to see how Imogen Heap would pull off her songs on stage since most of the songs include electronic tweaking and recorded sounds she uses from anything anywhere. Luckily, my skepticism was struck down cold within the beginning notes of her first song as her fingers danced over the piano and the notes, along with her voice, filled the Fillmore. She varied the songs slightly from her album (in an incredibly way), and her voice was still ethereal and beautiful. Plus, the stage design she had set up took me to another world. My jaw was on the floor the entire concert. If I had the money I would follow her cross country to see every performance of hers!

Imogen Heap is the most charming, lovable, and kindhearted artists I've ever encountered. Her concert was absolutely fantastic through the vibrant sounds and simplicity of her stage props. Her ability to bring such life to her show is absolutely awe inspiring. Immi's brilliance really radiated through her acapella, improvisation and interactive approach with the crowd. Immi took the time to come out after her show to talk to all her fans, take photos and sign autographs. What an incredible artist, band, venue, stage. I can't put into words how incredible this show was. It's a shame the big venues and unions really screw artists like Imogen, and keep her from coming here with more frequency. When I first walked into the Warner Theater, I knew it was going to be a good concert. The theater itself was beautiful and antique. But I could not have guessed that when Imogen walked on stage the first time, my heart would have jumped out of my red velvet seat. There she was, standing right in front of us. The crowd went wild and she started to talk. After the three opening acts, which were amazing in themselves, Imogen was ready to play. So was the crowd, ready to hear her. The sound was crystal clear and the stage was set just close enough for us to see. The entire way through the concert, she involved the audience by letting them pick parameters for a improvisational song, telling them the background of the songs, and actually letting them sing with her. Overall, it was the best concert I've ever been to, and I can't recommend it higher to anyone who likes her music. It is much better live, you won't want to go back to listening to the CDs.

If you haven't yet heard of Imogen or seen her show, you need to get your head out of the sand and go to her next show NOW. Unlike the sterile shows I've seen that were pre-programmed, distant, and a generic rendition of what was on the latest album, this was a very intimate show that had audience participation unlike the generic stuff you see in the average show. The size of the venue was just right as well. In case you aren't familiar with her music, she plays a variety of instruments and incorporates some sound creations via gadgets, pedals and what not and she actually takes time time to somewhat show the audience what she's doing to create some of her unique music. I wasn't really a fan of the opening acts (Geese and Ben Christopher), but when they joined as part of her band instead of solo and duet acts, they really helped bring the show to life. In between songs, she talks a bit to the audience, tells some interesting things about her and the tour in general, and how she came up with the ideas for some of the songs. Her "improv" number was quite good, and shows off her creativity and talent well. She's quite unique in the music world, so if you haven't yet seen her, you really need to get out of your cave and go now, while she is still touring. Unlike the crap out there in the rest of the music scene, she deserves to be on the stage and in our hearts. She's earned it!

Imogen Heap is one of the most talented artist of our time! The show at the Fillmore was Incredible! One I will NEVER forget! She sounded AMAZING! We traveled over 3 hours from Ohio to see her due to the fact that no shows from Leg1 or Leg 2 where coming to Ohio (still would like to know why). It was worth it!!!! I'd travel 10 hours to see her, it was that good!!!!! Sometimes Artists just can't pull off the Live thing.... I think it was even better than her recordings! And to see how she comes up with all those unique sounds right there on the spot, Truly Brilliant! I am also a new fan of Geese and Ben Christophers! Worth getting there early for that!!! The staff at the Filmore was great as well. We brought our young daughters with us and they took EXTRA special care to make sure they had a great experience! Kodos to the "X Men"!!!

I like to think of myself as an old salt, having logged many, many concerts over the past 30 years in and around Chicago venues. I have my perennial favorites, but I fear I'm becoming jaded as time frog-marches me into my golden years. How refreshing, then, to find myself almost unbalanced by the witty, charming antics of the lovely Imogen Heap on Saturday night, despite the sweltering miasma of the mouldy Riviera Ballroom. The heat was a real presence, as Ms. Heap apologetically took repeated water breaks - and no wonder; her music is primarily vocal, and one could almost consider her a solo artist. It is Ms. Heap's habit to conform to individual audiences, inviting her considerable online fan-base to determine the set list for each show, leading the crowd in "rounds" of background vocalizing, and even improvising a song based upon audience determination of key, pitch and tempo. The resulting piece is uploaded and offered for internet purchase at a price of $1; proceeds are then donated to a local charity - in this case, CeaseFire, a violence prevention group. Ms. Heap has gained steadfast fans ("I love you, Immie!" "No, I do!") with ethereal vocal and synthesized ballads, but showed her considerable ability to rock the house and throw down with the best of them. Faced with some annoying technical difficulties, which one suspects had much to do with the vagaries of the house electrical system, Ms. Heap's friendly banter with the audience simply cemented an intimacy forged by her obvious commitment to total audience interaction. We very much felt as if we had been invited by a funny little neighbor girl to have tea in her playhouse. When she breathlessly confessed that she's never done a show with a live a'capella group, we believed that we were about to see and hear something extraordinary. We held our own breaths during her piece with the hugely talented Chicago Vocal Authority, and I was gratified to feel that very rare, split-second moment of a complete vacuum of sound before the crowd erupted with applause. I found myself wondering if Ms. Heap was at all disappointed or bewildered by the relatively subdued feel of the room ("Why is everyone sitting? I thought there would be dancing," my daughter complained). Then I took a closer look, and realized that everyone appeared to be mesmerized, hanging on every note. Ms. Heap explained that she would not be performing any encores, just doing "a really long set" which, at two solid hours, did not disappoint. Ms. Heap finished the set with her heartbreaking "Hide and Seek", again utilizing the audience for a bit of chanting (no stretch for most of the crowd, who clearly had memorized the lyrics). Rather than dragging ourselves home to collapse, we left the Riviera exhilarated. And I haven't felt that way after a concert in a long, long time.

Imogen Heap, pronounce phonetically as em-oh-gen, after a continuous debate for a span of five years (of the pronunciation of her name) has made me realize that she is a) at least six feet tall, b) a musical genius, and a jack of all trades within the music category and c) she has to be a mad scientist, thus the dubbing her name Imokenstein. The concert itself was very entertaining especially when she incorporated her audience through numerous songs, and the highlight would have to be when she had a wardrobe malfunction (in no relation to Janet's because it was her skirt, and fear not she did have pants underneath), but the she continued singing her song, using the synthesizer, and singing while fixing her belt. Only Imogen Heap, the androgynous genius could pull that off.

Amazing show!!!! This was my first time seeing Imogen live. She is so quirky and funny while on stage. I love how she explains almost every song. It's really cool getting to watch her build her songs on stage by sampling items live. It was the first show of this tour so her voice was in amazing shape! We even met Imogen after the show. She climbed over the blockade and stood around to talk, take pictures, sign autographs for EVERYONE that waited after the show. She is such a nice person!

Imogen Heap in concert is a rare treat, and her concert in Detroit certainly pleased Heap fans and lovers of good music alike. Although the delicacy of her recorded music was lost in the intensity of bass and drums for some of the numbers, standards like "Hide and Seek" kept their charm and beauty even on the live stage. Heap remained honest to the "live" venue, and mixed everything on the spot\u2014giving each song a unique sound not identical to (but recognizably similar to) her recordings. Heap had occasional "glitches" with the on-stage technological gadgets, but this has almost become a hallmark of her performances, and she dealt with each roadblock with a charm and wit that only enhanced athe already entertaining concert. Not that she needed any of these gadgets\u2014Heap's vocals were outstanding, proving that the uniquely colorful and flexible voice that many have come to love on her recordings is not merely a result of computer wizardry. Heap chose to forgo encores by putting all of her "big hits" into the setlist, which was probably a good move which kept her fans pleased. As if her compositions alone were not enough to impress her fans, Heap performed a stunningly improvised number to be downloaded the following morning, proceeds going to a local charity. All in all a very entertaining and moving concert. Highly recommended.

As a perfomance artist myself, I was delighted to observe and witness Imogen's creative spirit. Her sometimes quirky character was endearing. The backdrops were very, very good. The accompaniment artists were 5 star!! Overall, one of the most musically satisfying experiences I have had.

Imogen Heap is a technical genius! Such a live-wire, and a fantastic live show! Love, love, love the innovation and alternative that she provides to mainstream music now-a-days. Such a fun night! And, She found out on stage that she had been nominated for two Grammys for Ellipse! Def. recommend!

I've only know about Imogen for about 2 years, but it's been a wonderful 2 years! I had seen her performing live online a couple of times, I followed her Twitter, and I bought all of her music that I could find. But I was still holding out to see her perform live.... ...Last night was when I had that chance, so I drove 3 hours up to Chicago to see the show. The opening acts were both performers that I hadn't been exposed to previously, but both were quite remarkable. Back Ted-n-Ted started with a set of his songs, some of which were mixed/looped on the spot and others that were pre-arranged. He sounded really good, though, and I was impressed. Tim Exile was the second act, and he knocked me back in my seat - I was astonished by the way that he took random noises from the set, audience, and his electronics to create some incredible music. I would love to see him perform for an all-out dance party. The crowd last night wasn't really feeling his vibe, which was just too bad, but I sure enjoyed it. Imogen followed up with her music, which is always enjoyable to me. Her humor, quirkiness, and absolute honesty were fun, and her performance was amazing. I was again blown away by how she was able to create music from "instruments" that so many other musicians don't even look at. Incredible. I can't leave out the guest Celloist, whose name I didn't catch (Karen? Katlyn?), and the drummer/percussionist/bassist. They each added their own style, punctuation, and flavor to the show, and it was good! The best part? I'm left wanting more! Through the evening, nothing dragged on. Nothing had me thinking "Is the show over yet?" Instead, at the end of her THREE encores, I was willing to commit to drive back to Chicago tonight to see her again. It was THAT GOOD. I definitely recommend finding a way to see Imogen Heap, especially while she's touring with Back Ted-n-Ted and Time Exile.

Imogen is a very quirky performer. If you have ever seen Tori Amos perform then you will notice similar strange stories, odd sounds, and comments made under her breath seemingly to herself. She is very talented and makes good use of layered digital audio loops, a technique that I always enjoy. What this does is allow a single performer to give the audio experience of several performers by recording short digital tracks of various sounds while on stage and then looping them one over another. I really enjoyed her music, her performing talent, her personality, and humor. I would highly recommend her show and plan to go again next time she is in the area. I also hung around after the show and she was very kind to come out and speak with her fans, give hugs, take pictures, and sign autographs.

This concert was one of the best I have ever been to! I will see her every time she comes to New Orleans and if you haven't seen her live, you should! She was humorous, extremley talented, down-to-earth, and even got the audience involved to make a new song she came up with in about 10 minutes on stage and sold it on itunes. All profits went to help a charity in New Orleans! I was a fan of hers before, but after seeing her live I love her even more!

I really love Imogen Heap, and I thought her performance was amazing. Watching her create songs onstage, building up melodies on top of each other was fascinating. I think that one of her opening acts was a little... strange, but interesting. The guest singers were wonderful, the improv piece was good, I loved all the songs she played, despite what some other reviews of this show I've seen say, it was magnificent, and even though it was cold, the venue was very nice (and Imogen is such a sweet person, and really funny, too).

I work in the entertainment production business so I've seen a lot of shows...Imogen is right up there at the top of the very best. I've seen her twice and both times its a very intimate space and she interacts with the crowd better than anyone out there. Her show is not one to blow you away with theatrics or lights, but just glue you to your seat with amazing vocals and music. From splitting the crowd into thirds for an a capella round-robin rendition of Just for Now, to rocking out hard with an incredible drum solo from the genius herself on Tidal, to the mesmerizing and sweeping systhesizer rhythms of First Train Home, this show is non-stop pleasure and pure entertainment, and raw talent.

I've always loved Imogen's voice, cd production and overall musical talent. I've followed her for years and never got to see her play. I finally did and it blew me away. It is so essential to me when a musician creates a better show than their album. Her clear electric (baby?) grand piano was ridiculous, her musicianship was amazing and her voice was just as good live. Not to mention, she introduced her opening bands. She is a true musician and that was a real show. Oh and the Arlene Schnitzer Concert Hall was gorgeous hah.

Imogen Heap is incredible. I can't tell if I'm supposed to be reviewing her or the venue. Imogen I've seen several times. She amazes me every time. Fabulous, heartfelt, genuine, brilliant musician. The Mountain Winery was a pretty fabulous venue also. Pros: Imogen. The view. The Pinot Nior. The staff. The staff. The staff. All seats are pretty much good seats. Dancing area! Yay!! Cons: outdoors, so DRESS WARM. Parking, food, and wine are all VERY expensive. Word to the wise: If you want to eat, I've heard the food is fabulous. Make reservations at one of the dining areas. Do not make the mistake I made and just expect there to be seats available. There won't be. And if there are not and you are still hungry, you will have to do what I had to do. $16 veggie burger eaten at a shared table outside in the cold.

I can't believe how awesome this show turned out to be! Imogen Heap and the musicians she works with are so creative and phenomenal at what they do. The way she does things is so unique and she was so witty and entertaining on top of being one of the best performers I have ever seen play live! The concert was intimate and the venue was perfect - we had the privilege of being really close to front and center and, after that experience, I will never miss a show from her again! This concert was one of the best I've ever seen! Ms. Heap displayed even more creativity and stage presence than her 3 wonderful CD's that I possess would have indicated. The variability of the set, and the warmth of her audience engagement and personal anecdotes made the 2 hour concert go succunctly and smoothly, making us want more. Her visual lighting and stage designs accentuated her individuality and style. Finally, her talent and magical voice cannot be overestimated, as well as her unique ability to find and capture specific notes and sounds from everything from wine glasses to train horns is phenomenal. Please come back to San Diego again, Imogen.

Imogen Heap is not just a singer, a songwriter, or performer. She far exceeded my expectations for a concert and has set the bar extremely high for those that I go to in the future. She not only has an incredible voice, but her musical talent, interaction with the crowd, performance, and her instrumental skill are far beyond any musician I have seen. She involves the crowds, the local community, and makes the night an EXPERIENCE rather than just listening to music.

It's been awhile since I've seen her perform and I left the show feeling full of energy and really positive. She's one of those rare recording artisits that can pull off a live show using loads of tecnology but still make such a warm connection to the audience. The supporting band members and crew all played their parts very well and with Imogen at the center of it all - she really shined. This made for an interesting sonic experience where she pretty effortlessly pulled off using various unique instruments, distortion, and multi-tiered looping effects. She made it look easy but ya know its not! Plus she involved the audience in several ways that really just elevated the whole night. If you haven't seen her live or her seen her recently... go to this show!

Loved the show! Imogen was an awesome performer. Georgeous sound and intricate music. She is extremely talented. I totally appreciated her involvement with the audience and efforts to make it a personal show to LA. I applauded her efforts to involving local charities by donating the proceeds of the imprompted "LA song." I was truly impressed. First time at the Greek. Beautiful venue. Wasn't aware of the parking fee, but at least parking wasn't difficult. Liked the option of getting a wine carafe/bottle at the concessions rather than having to return for a second glass. Performers in the concession area were fun and friendly. The show was smooth and very enjoyable. Great crowd. Would highly recommend this venue, and can't wait to return!

Imogen Heap not only delivered a *great* show at an amazing venue (smaller & more intimate than I'd expect!), but also gave a couple local musicians the chance to perform on stage as a brief opener, and then to perform a song a cappella with Imogen in the middle of the show. As if that was not enough, she later did some improvisational music with audience suggestions which can be downloaded for $1, all of which goes toward a local charity in each city she's played in (for San Diego, it was to the San Diego Zoo, specifically the California Condor). Great on every level!

I can say this is the first time I've seen a true artist create her own work on stage as we watched. She was very engaging, quirky, and even bashful at times. A true original and such a sweetheart! The venue only allowed for a few hundred people, which made things very intimate. She had the community vote on their favorite songs as the concert date approached and made sure to play the local favorites as well as some of her own choices in the set list. Imogene Heap + Mission Bay+ Moonlight= One Unforgettable Night In San Diego! Regarding the opening Acts- Two local San Diego women started the show. They met through the contest Imogene had on her website to have someone sing one of her songs with her. In San Diego's case, she chose these two women. She also let them sing a few songs as a duo at the beginning of the show. Then Ben Christopher (very good!) came on, followed by "Geese" (Not so good). The last act consists of two violinists, who also play on some of the songs Imogene sings during her set.
