This was the fourth time to see Franz Ferdinand in a year and it was the best. Every time I saw them it was in a progressively bigger room, with the Wiltern being the biggest. The crowd was awesome and the band fed off it putting on an amazing show, outshining the other three performances and giving me the most memorable experience.

Great Venue, not a bad spot in the house! Bought my 3 sons with, who said it was the best! And brought my Bestie, who never seen Franz, and she loved it! Their set of an Hour and half was epic! We got to hear all the good tunes!

Concert was epic. The band was engaging. Alex is the perfect frontman. He along with the bandmates OWNED the Orpheum that night. I got a few good pics and a muffled shoddy video of them performing "Walk Away". Then my phone died. I was completely immersed in the sound. It was like I was on stage with them. I stuck around at the end of the show. I met Alex, Paul and Bob . Nick was MIA. I got my ticket autographed and photo ops. I asked Alex "How fun was filming the video for 'EVIL EYE" . He said it was a blast. His favourite part was Bob gnawing at a severed limb. He proceeded to tell me that Bobs inspiration was his dog, Alfie. I also inquired what they shot it on. I said "35 MM" Hes like "Noooo. VHS. Its SMUT-tastic". I was like "AH!" Speaking of that, Does anyone remember the lady with the denim jacket with the "Lucid Dreams" patch on the back? B/C I ran out of battery power on my cell and she was nice enough to take some photos of me w/ the guys. All she required was my e mail. I gave it to her and thanked her kindly. Its been a few days and I still have not received any correspondence. If anyone knows how to get a hold of her, I shall be forever grateful.

You would think that coming across the pond and having all these shows here in the states would put a bit of a damper on the performance be that was NOT the case. They lit up the stage for over two hours and never skipped a beat. Excellent show through and through.

It was one of the best shows I've seen there since h.o.b's opened. I've seen many bands play, and by far and away Franz killed it! They played all there hit songs plus there new ones.

The show was awesome, as usual. Not quite as amazing as the last time they were here, but great nonetheless. But perhaps that's just because hardly anyone in the balcony was standing up or dancing. Not sure how one can NOT dance at a FF show, but if they did they would have had an even more amazing time! They are AWESOME.

What another great show put on by Franz Ferdinand. They were full of energy and had the crowd going. My only complaint which is minor is they should have closed with a better song or two. I will be seeing them again in a few days in Austin!

This was my third time seeing Franz Ferdinand in the past year and even this show felt like a first, the huge grin I had on my face throughout this set does not happen frequently and it said it all. Lead vocalist A. Kapranos' energy, style and showmanship is one for the rock n roll history books, REALLY. Franz Ferdinand is one of the greatest live bands not only of the 21st century but of all time. You are destined to keep your feet moving at any FF concert.

Outdoor venue at Humphrey's on Shelter Island, San Diego is wonderful! Not much "seating" available but it's a cozy intimate outdoor setting. I want to go back there to watch another show!! Franz Ferd - what can I say ... they were phenomenal as usual. Alex's sexy vocals were outstanding! The entire band killed it!

It was am amazing show and the band as always gives it their best. San Diego seems to just want to stand and stare and not really dance or cheer, which makes me sad. That's why a lot of bands skip SD and stop in LA, which is horrible.

Love this band on CD, but thought that they didnt come off live very well. They dont translate their powerful changes as well in the live performance as they do on the recorded material. So I wouldnt recommend them live but I also wouldnt say they were bad or anything, just thought it lacked a bit of punch.

Despite the fact that it was pouring out and I'd forgotten my raincoat, my friends and I had the most amazing time at Malkin Bowl. I'm American and had never been to Vancouver before, but it blew my mind-- though the rain dampened our clothes, the crowd's enthusiasm was definitely not affected by the adverse weather. The sound quality was excellent-- we got to hear the sound check, seeing as it was an outdoor venue, and they spend a lot of time fiddling to make everything sound perfect. I generally dislike venues with a barrier that's far away from the stage; but it made sense, seeing how high up the stage was. I was right on the barrier and let me tell you, it makes all the difference-- especially for the short ones among us :) The guys were nothing short of amazing-- as always-- and did their best to come out as far as they could on the stage to get close to us, even though all their equipment had to be shoved back under the overhang. Alex Kaprano and Nick McCarthy's moves were in top form, and the sound was tight as ever. It was my fourth time seeing them live and it's definitely tied for best show with their April 13th 2009 gig at the Moore Theatre in Seattle, WA. Plus, with it being outside in the rain and the dark, with huge trees all around, the atmosphere was even more intense. The band is unbelievably energetic and charismatic onstage-- even Bob was moving around and getting into it. Everyone was dancing the entire way through, and people were polite enough to not go crazy with the shoving or crowding. The band played quite a few older favorites and some of the best songs off the new album. Now that they have three albums and countless b-sides, they can really pick out the cream of the crop to make the best show possible. Compared to their previous shows (I saw them in 2005 and 2007 as well) the new songs definitely create more of a darker, dancier, edgier atmosphere than the band used to have, but without losing any of the glorious fun and abandon they always exude. The extra synth parts and breakdowns are a marked difference, and it definitely works. It's nice to see them go off and break away from the structure of a song and just go mad with it. They've definitely got their own sound that's inimitable, despite how many have tried, and it's amazing to see how their music has evolved over the last five years Part of the reason Franz put on such great shows consistently is that they don't feel any need to act cool or posture-- they're having a great time onstage and it shows throughout. Especially when all four of them jump on the drum kit at the same time--an old Franz tradition-- you just get the feeling that they'd be making music no matter if nobody was listening. And that's the best kind of band out there. They are so well attuned with each other and with the audience-- Alex is especially great at getting the audience to participate in the songs throughout the entire show. And their encore was absolutely killer-- I don't think I've ever danced harder or jumped higher in my life. And for further proof of fan appreciation, they rewarded the few of us who remained after the gig (after the rain had started pouring harder than ever and prompted most people to leave after a half hour or so) by letting us come inside the venue and up onstage to hang out and chat for over an hour. They played for an hour and a half and the show ended at 9:30, but we didn't get out of there until 11:30 because they were just so darn nice. All four guys hung around and though I'd met them once before, it was nice to actually have a chance to have actual conversations with them. They're all lovely in person and are more than friendly, not to mention humble. They were surprised when my friends told them it was my birthday-- they couldn't believe I'd spent my night out in the rain watching them. If more bands could be like them, I think the world might be a much happier place, hah. It doesn't matter if they're playing for thousands (like at Bumbershoot in Seattle the following night) or for hundreds, Franz Ferdinand put on a fantastic show. But if you can, see them at a smaller venue! It really makes for the best experience and it's nice for them to play intimate venues in between the huge coliseums and stadiums. All in all, an A+ perfect night. Totally worth being soaked to the bone and cold for hours. I'd do it again in a heartbeat!

The front band from Montreal, Family, was dynamic and set the tone for the show. The audience was having fun and being active yet decent. I was on the floor near the front and had a spectacular view. The main act, Franz Ferdinand, was even better than I thought they would be. They were fun, energetic and skillful. Good vocals with a wide range of slow to fast music made them a bit unique and really entertaining. They were excellent musicians, played long sets and every one was mezmerized and having a blast.

I've been to hundreds of concerts. Franz Ferdinand just broke into the top ten that includes Pulp opening for Blur at the Fillmore, The Charlatans at The Royal Albert Hall, and Radiohead at Slims. They were that amazing. Even though it was a Monday night, they rocked it like it was a Friday. The set was tight and well selected. I caught Franz Ferdinand for the first time back in 2004 when I heard they would be opening for Morrissey later that year in Manchester. For starters, their debut album was amazing, and seeing it live made me an instant fan. I caught them again at the Inland Invasion, and then again for their follow up album tour at the Greek Theater. They aim to please their audience. They are truly selfless in that respect. These guys played for 90 minutes NON-STOP and after a very brief time-out, came back for a great encore to complete a full 2-hour set. Who does that nowadays? Now that I am a father, it was a pleasure to have taken my 17-year-old and my wife to the show and have them witness the exact same intensity with which I saw Franz Ferdinand perform over 10 years earlier. My wife was not a fan of theirs going into the show, but now admits to have a great deal of respect for them.

What a great evening! We got to the House of Blues early for dinner. It was our first time there, and had a great dinner and drinks. There was live music in the dining room and that made for a nice atmosphere. Then we went downstairs to the theater and milled around and had drinks before the show started. They have waitstaff at the seats too, which was a nice touch. The opening band was Ume and rocked. Then after an intermission, Franz Ferdinand took stage and blew me away. Those guys were super-polished, which kind of surprised me. They are my favorite band, but I was expecting more of a garage-band sound live. They could have played a huge arena and would have sounded just as good.

I didn't decide to go to this show until the day of, and bought my ticket at about 3 in the afternoon. I didn't know much of their material besides their new album, but I still thought I would check them out. I was extremely impressed with their performance. The musicianship was tight, and they were thoroughly engaged with their audience. The sound was also just right, as I have very sensitive ears and usually need earplugs when I go to shows. They were loud enough to fill the entire room, but not so loud that I needed my plugs. They seem to be one of those bands that aren't as big as they deserve to be, unfortunately. They deserve to be in a sold out Staples Center rather than a 3/4 full Wiltern . Alex Kapranos has a terrific voice and is one of the most engaging frontmen I've ever seen. I look forward to seeing this band again!

Opening act was excellent and a good match in style for FF. The main attraction was 90 minutes of non-stop high energy Franz frenzy. Everyone was having a great time dancing and Alex and the rest of band have awesome stage presence.
