Cherub

CHERUB IN CONCERT:Combining sleek electro-funk, romantic falsettos, and clever lyrical wordplay, Cherub's wry songs about dating and clubbing are the stuff that dance parties are made of. The only thing these guys take seriously is having fun, and that's exactly what they do at their live shows, hyping up the crowd with their infectious energy and swaggering showmanship. Fans couldn't help but bust a move to synth-heavy bangers like "Jazzercise '95" and "XOXO" on the band's 2013 tour, and with another round of shows in 2014 they'll have the opportunity to do it all again.BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:Tennessee-based Cherub is the brainchild of singer Jordan Kelley and guitarist Jason Huber, formed in 2010 with an eye towards updating the sounds of their funk idols like Prince and Zapp and Roger.

I went to this show for my birthday, I love Cherub, and they absolutely 100% did not disappoint! I met both guys, both cool as it gets. Probably the best night I've ever had! For real!

Cherub was easily the most amazing concert i've ever been to. They sound identical to their tracks as they do live and myself and everyone around me was in awe because of that! Definitely worth it and I would see them again in a heartbeat! Only flaw was the venue. Crazy security gaurds at the ryman for no reason at all. Was just too uptight for a band like Cherub. Bottom line - absolutely amazing, must see.

Cherub and Mystery Skulls were great, they kept the lights pretty bright during Cherub's half of the show though... little odd

I really liked the venue at Buckhead Theater. Cherub was really fun and blew me away with his guitar effects and skill. Jason even crowd surfed which was awesome. I would definitely go back again. Only downfall is that the people around us kind of sucked but you can't really help that. 5 stars

Due to poor design, the sound engineer has a booth behind the main speakers back stage, whic means he doesn't get an accurate feel for how the music is for the crowd. He ruined the entire show. Cherub sounded better than the openers because the sound guy made it so you couldn't hear the mic mids or treble. Only an indistinguishable bass. I knew one of the opening acts and I could hardly understand the songs I already knew. I talked with management after but they only want to blame everyone else but themselves who are ACTUALLY responsible and should be proactive about a solution. NEVER go see a show at the buckhead theater. This place was much better when it was the Roxy, and is now easily the worst venue I've ever been to.

It was a smaller event than I'm used to, which made it more intimate. Cherub had amazing stage presence and killed it up there!

I'm from Chicago, on vacation in Portland. Small and intimate venue made the show incredible. The acoustics were fantastic and the crowd was digging it.

Gibbz opened up with a great set to get the night going ...some killer vocals and beats. Ghost Beach followed with some funky - electro/80s style twist setting up the main act. Cherub on the Champagne Showers Tour put on a killer show..playing a mix of jams from older albums and EPs and new tracks that made for an Epic show. Jason and Jordan met with the fans after the show and even made time to chill with some homies and get irie before continuing the tour. Port City Music Hall was a good venue but security took job a little serious. Overall great show. Hope Cherub comes back to maine soon so we can show them a better time after in the Old Port.

Cherub was absolutely amazing. They brought so much energy and sounded better than the actual record. Even if you didn't know all of their songs, it would have been a good time. You can tell that they love making and performing music and that just made the experience better. I can't wait for them to make it back to Philly!

These two are always on their game when they perform. Their humble appreciation for the two sold-out shows was so sweet. These growing artists really know how to get a crowd excited, and I LOVE their cover of Feels so Close.

We bought tickets to see Hippie Sabotage at the Fox Theater. First off, whose idea was it to have these two acts on the same ticket? Usually when I spend $35 on a ticket to see one artist, I want to hear similar artists. These two couldn't have been more different. God, Cherub is TERRIBLE. Another gripe I have is, according to the ticket, there was supposed to be an opener on before Hippie Sabotage. We got there at 8:30 and Hippie Sabotage was already on! If we had gone to get some drinks somewhere, we would've missed them completely. We left at 9 because we couldn't bear to hear any more of Cherub. And now that I'm trying to look up who the opener was, it's nowhere to be found. Go figure. So basically, we paid $14 in transportation, $70+ on tickets, and $28 on 4 tiny 8 ounce beers (shame on you Fox Theater), to see 30 minutes of a show. Seriously poor planning on the event planner's part. The Fox Theater is a beautiful venue and I'd like to see a show there again, but I'm going to be really hesitant and make sure I do a lot of research on whoever is playing on the same ticket next time.

I thought that they did a great job playing. They interacted with the crowed and played almost all of their songs. I did feel out of place because most of the people in the crowd were under 21. I would see them again.

I've been an avid fan of Cherub for about 2 years now and 9/5/15 was my first time seeing them. Let me just say, they were everything an MORE than I imagined them being. I love their personalities and stage presence. I'm from Franklin, TN (as they are too) and the connection between the crowd and them was electrifying. Long story short - they're stellar artists!

Great 1st Ryman show. Really could feel the love Cherub had for Nashville and their fans. The band and singers sounded the best I have heard. They had major energy and kept the crowd on their feet the entire show.

Cherub was amazing! In fact, this was my 3rd time seeing them. However, the environment of The Ryman wasn't for me. The crowd ranged from young teenagers to a couple sitting behind me with walkers, so that was interesting. However, my issue was with that it is a seated venue and I would have just preferred if they played somewhere with GA. (Everyone tried to make it into a moshpit by rushing the stage, which resulted in multiple security guards being called and people walking around throughout the show checking tickets.) Like I said, Cherub is awesome, but just would have enjoyed a different venue.

An addictive combination of the sexy sounds of Prince mixed with the funky flare of Outkast, the pop music of Cherub is undeniably catchy. "Doses & Mimosas" literally turned the venue from a concert to a full-fledge dance-a-thon.

I wish I had known more of their songs before going to the concert, but it was still a great dance party! They pull an AWESOME crowd. Funny guys, a big champagne spray at the end. It was a good time. Really really REALLY fun live! Just be warned: Doses and Mimosas is a song best enjoyed recorded, not live (in my opinion).

Terminal 5 can have a range of crowds, but this one was particularly young. unbearably so. when girls wear cutoff jorts, in NYC, in January, something has gone terribly wrong. Couldn't even stay the whole show to hear my favorite of Cherubs shows because I thought i was babysitting.

The band was amazing! Although they started a little later than I expected, their music made up for it. They played perfectly and added that special live factor that should come with concerts. They had a great stage presence too! I would definitely see them again. The venue was great, too. It was kind of small but still comfortable with a sold out show. I wouldn't hesitate to attend another show at the Buckhead Theater.
