I would of given five stars because of Dwight and how excellent his singing is alone and he was the only one i came to hear but the lady Lucinda before him was just too political and I paid to listen to music not opinions. Her singing was alright it just her political blah blah blah was not needed!! I still had a great time though!!

Met up with friends at the Madison after a crazy 12 hour workday. Missed the opening act, but in time for Lucinda. She was dynamic! Blew away all the stress of my day in no time. After a FABULOUS show, I bought a CD & listened all the way home. Can't wait for her to come back to town!

I had begun to like Lucinda's music a little more than a year prior to seeing her in concert, so let me tell ya - if you like her too, just see her and her band live. She was great. She has one of those unique voices that you don't always hear. She said she was dealing with a cough that night, as she had just driven overnight from a weekend festival, but after she got warmed up with a few songs, she was on fire, having fun and making the crowd roar with applause. I would go again. Definitely.

I really enjoyed Lucinda and her band....they did a great job! I have been a fan of hers for at least 15 years and I was thrilled to be able to see her in KC. The Lounge was very nice ...relaxed, upbeat, stylish and service was excellent! My sister and I had a wonderful time and I will be watching for more events to attend at Harrahs. Thanks for bringing awesome talent to Kansas !!

This was great music despite the fact that Lucinda had allergies from Nashville. I missed the talking in between songs although I know there were a few comments. I do have to say that I forgot how long it takes for the main act to go on(9:30) and thought that since it was a Monday, that perhaps she would have played earlier. Love, love, love all of the music! BLUE NOTE:YOU MUST STOP PEOPLE FROM WALKING AROUND CONSTANTLY DURING PERFORMANCES, IT REALLY DETRACTS FROM THE VENUE!!!!! SOOOO RUDE TO LUCINDA!

My partner and I thought Lucinda Williams was amazing. She did play a couple of songs I was unfamiliar with, but we loved it all. Only having been a fan for 4 or 5 years, I didn't know that she wrote the song "Passionate Kisses" recorded by Mary Chapin Carpenter. Lucinda is a great songwriter, and hilarious, too! (Maybe only if you have an off beat sense of humor, lol) If you like her music, don't miss her concerts....

Lucinda and her band were excellent. It was a top notch performance and I would have liked to give it a 5 star rating. However, the decibel level was absurdly loud. She is a top notch singer song writer and a high caliber performer, the pumped up volume actually detracted from her music and her band, Buick 6. I will think twice before attending another concert at the Voodoo Lounge in North Kansas City, but I would go hear her again in a different venue

Absolutely an unforgettable evening. She played everything I wanted to hear. She was primed and her band was the best. Although I appreciate the history and ambiance of the venue (the Vogue) I do look forward to seeing her elsewhere so I can sit down and see her (and stand when I want to). I will definately go see her again and again.

Lucinda was great, band was great as back-up, and even as opener, but would have liked to know they were going to open for 1 hr before. They did not communicate the intent to open for her, or that she wouldn't be out for so long. I almost left thinking Lucinda was sick or not going to perform.

Finally! It's been a while since Indianapolis has seen Lucinda! We saw her in L.A. when she performed entire albums. Lucinda is never disappointing and she rocked the house (little Vogue in Indianapolis). The people in Indianapolis don't seem to know how to rock like the people in L.A., so it was a different atmosphere. She wasn't quite as quirky and personable as she was the last time I saw her. But her songs never fail!

Lucinda Williams is one of the best live performer touring today. Every show I see is better than the one before. The show at The Madison was incredible. She played an excellent set including songs from every era of her work. The highlight of the show for me was Righteously. She played for a good 2 hours and her band, Buick 6 were a wonderful compliment to her vocals.

What a great show, and what a great venue FOR a show. I've had great respect for Lucinda Williams for many years, just never got a chance to see her. She put on an awesome concert that night at the Vogue. Mixing all her songs from over the years, along with many from her latest "Little Honey", it was just a perfectly planned event. Views in the theater were all excellent, and the sound was like I was listening thru a pair of headphones. I highly recommend Lucinda for a concert experience you'll not soon forget, and the Vogue for its' great, "homey" atmosphere!

First off the band she was with was fantastic. This girl can rock. I am not big on the singer songwriter type and honestly not when they are women but Lucinda beats all expectations and I loved her closer AC/DC long way to the top if you want to rock and roll. the whole show was a lot of fun and her voice is so good. If you like music you will certianly appreciate this artist. Very tight sound and a good crowd. Coming into the show I did not know any of her music my fiancee wanted me to go. I am very glad I did that is the only reason I gave 4 stars not 5 she would have given her 5 stars and since my girl is also a singer songwriter she is very critical when watching a show but she was also blown away by her performance. The Madison is always a great venue so she really played to the very apprecaitive crowd.

The Venue was well laid out and people were cordial. The bar was well staffed, so getting a drink was not a problem. I was able to find standing room near stage left. She started the show slowly, building with tempo and momentum. Not only did she prove her vocal talent, but her band was remarkable. The guitar tech earned his keep that night.

This was the second time I've seen Lucinda and she remains the hardest working woman in rock with no nonsense or wasted energy. Focused, passionate, and raw. Her band was tight, versatile and precise as she made her way through her new songs and some old favorites from her prior albums: Real Live Bleeding Findgers and Broken Strings, Concrete and Barbwire, Jackson, Come On, West, Where is My Love. Not sure how she can bear her emotional soul everynight on the road, but it's a moving experience to watch.

Saw Lucinda at the Madison Theater in Covington KY 2009, and at the Palace in Louisville last year. First time at the '09 venue, impressive & casual...easy to find & park, great seats everywhere (though a little cramped near the rail), great sound. She was amazing as expected, band (Buick 6) was tight...but not as good as previous band. Lucinda's voice was as strong and rich as ever, so no disappointment. Would go again, & look forward to seeing more like this @ the Madison Theater.

Lucinda Williams has a huge catalog of wonderful songs to choose from, and her selections for this concert showcased her singing talents beautifully. I have seen Lucinda in concert 4 times and each time she has had a different style. Last year with Mellencamp was awesome but at the Madison she was rockin' out with so many older tunes and the band, WOW, the band was fantastic. I really enjoyed it, it was a rougher side of Lucinda and her voice was right on...it was definitley time well spent! I'm for sure a Lucinda fan and I'll be back to see her again and again and encourage anyone who has not seen her live to get out there and enjoy the "essence" of Lucinda!

Lucinda was sizzling, electifying, and sexy. She does that moody, broody thing with penache and makes you want to cry as well as kick up your heels and dance. Not to mention knock back a few and wallow in you sorrows and celebrate your triumphs. There is no one like her and I never tire of participating in one of her performances. Never a disappointment!

My son and I enjoyed a beautiful Baltimore night under the stars - while grooving on three artists who deserve attention. We've never seen Steve Earle in concert. He's brilliant and bold (we love his politics!) and one of the best songwriters on the planet. He OPENED the dang show! If you know "Copperhead Road", you'd think he would CLOSE it :) He and Lucinda Williams are cut from the same cloth. The tender sides of them are just as much of a force to be reckoned with as the FIERCE sides. They must be good friends. I felt the chemistry from the lawn seats - way back. I cannot believe how now smitten I am with Lucinda. Her fans showed true love and she gave it back. Her voice is an instrument of peace. An acquired taste, yes, but authentic and The Truth. We've seen Dwight before now...and I'm wondering if this is a good fit, considering that the S and the L of LSD go the "deeper route" in person. Dwight is slick Hollywood and was quite the contrast. I loved it when he spoke - maybe he should incorporate "The Heart That You Own" and simmer down to enjoy the audience instead of being a Hit Machine. I love the guy. I played his music for YEARS on Country Radio. But he needs to connect more with feeling-starved concert goers - and allow the vulnerability to emerge. He may have trouble with that - I don't know. Some Scorpios do :-D But for THIS kind of package, he has to re-think the overall vibe of the show. DECIDE. Poetry/Politics or Branson On Overdrive.

The pavilion and seating was fine,, the first performance was very good for a newcomer, the next two performers needed a better sound mix,, the instruments were loud and the singers were trying to sing louder causing the words to be distorted. The third act "Dwight" was entertaining leading into each song to the next one. but at times he was distorted too.

Nothin' against Lucinda, Steve and Dwight, who did their best to put on a worthwhile show. Each of them was on stage for at least an hour. All I could ask, in that context. But the sound mix was atrocious, at least where we sat. Guitars were way too loud to make any sense at all of the voices. Couldn't make out the lyrics at all, even when I knew the songs. Very disappointing. I wouldn't go again, given the chance.

All three artists have top notch bands and were a pleasure to see. Wonderful songwriters all. Of the three, Dwight is by far the best singer, but the music was all good. Dwight kicked up the energy several notches at the end. His voice was hard to hear amidst the very loud lead guitar and drums at times. Wear ear plugs is my tip for enjoying his set. The Mastersons were a tremendous addition to Steve s show. Lucinda s guitar player was fantastic. Overall I highly recommend seeing this tour. And I simply could not get enough of Dwight!!!! Lucinda and Steve were unforgettable. I was less familiar with Dwight, but enjoyed his music and sequins. I appreciated how they worked/played together. I didn't mind a few minor timing or instrument issues - all was sorted or at least minor enough not to ruin anything about the show. No one showed his/her age and all remain rockers extraordinaire! (Very important: If you are a temperature wimp, you must wear enough clothes to keep warm at this place as air conditioning windstorm swirls around and requires you to press up against your partner/buddy for warmth. Glad my sister obliged me. I mean really ladies -- it is freezing!!)

The night started with the pleasant surprise of King Leg, an alt-country band mentored by Dwight Yoakam — think Roy Orbison singing Hank Williams songs, in the style of Dwight Yoakam. Steve Earle's set was solid, and his band includes The Mastersons, who are simply terrific. Lucinda seemed a little under-prepared. She sounded great, but I suspect her show works better in a smaller space. And then Dwight blew everybody away, as he always does. The man is supernaturally charismatic. The set included a couple of new songs, which he apologized for — "When I go see a show, I don't want to hear any new stuff," he said — but the new stuff was excellent. The format of the show meant there really wasn't any time to slow things down, so we didn't get any of the classic ballads. The encore was all three headliners joining in on "Dim Lights, Thick Smoke, and Loud, Loud Music," which was perfect — I only wish they'd done a few more songs together.

Too many opening acts. The bands opening for Dwight were just ok to pretty unenjoyable at times. By the time he third opener finished it was 9:30 and would take a good 30 minutes to set up for Dwight. Which means it would be a late night and when you have to work the next day, you contemplate leaving early. And that s what we did. Didn t stay for Dwight as we already wasted the last 4 hours listening to groups that I wasn t interested in hearing. Unfortunately, as much as I like Dwight s music, I won t be spending my money to see again unless he is a lone act.

This was our seventh time seeing Lucinda over the past twelve years. I hadn't been to the HB Casino Ballroom in 30 thirty years or so and was very pleased with the room . Lucinda came on at 9:30 and started with "Protection". Lucinda and Buick 6 were in fine form and they all seemed to be in a rockin', happy, playful mood. The crowd was very supportive and Lu and the band seemed to feed off that. Lu's singing was great, as was Stuart Mathis' lead guitar. David Sutton on bass seemed to be having a great time on stage, improvising here and there, making Lu smile all the more. Butch Norton on drums was great as usual. Lucinda played for two hours with a great three song encore, ending with a cover of"Rockin' in the Free World". Overall, I think this was the best Lucinda Williams show we've seen so far, and we've seen some great ones.!

The first thing I noticed is that the audience was almost entirely gray haired. When did we get old? But from the moment Buick 6 started their set until Lucinda played her last song we were rocking like it was still 1980. lots of songs from "Car Wheels on a Gravel Road" and a sprinkling from other albums including her newest. I've seen Lucinda Williams at least a dozen times. With Lu you never know what you will get. Her show is not canned so it is not always consistent. This show began with an excellent set by Lu's backing band Buick 6. All 3 musicians are top notch. After a bit too long break, they returned with Lu. It seemed to take Lu a few songs to get into the groove, but once she did she put on a heartfelt soulful performance for over two hours. You can feel her pouring herself into the music and being energized by the audience. While her songs may be categorized as "Americana", she and her band can rock with the best of them. In addition to a good mix of LW originals, she covered The Clash, Bruce Springsteen and Neil Young!! When Lucinda Williams is on, she is one of the best shows you will see.

We drove from Chicago (300 miles) to see Lucinda at the Pageant. Why? First Lucinda Williams. She is one of America's Artistic Treasures. We started listening to her in the late 90's and have been Fan-addicts every since. She always gives you all she's got whenever She's up there, Singing those Amazing Songs. Loved the always tight Band, and Butch (Drummer) was on Fire! She has a knack for attracting some of the greatest Guitarist around to play on tour. Stewart Mathis (Wallflowers) was no exception, and David Sutton on Bass was as Steady as Ever. Secondly The Pageant in St. Louis. One of, if not our Favorite Music Venues ever! The Perfect Mix of Intimacy and Tech, and not a bad Seat in the House. The Combination of Artist and Venue that makes Driving 300 miles to a Show so well Worth It.

Another awesome show from Lucinda. I love that she plays the smaller venues and cares about how much ticket prices are. She cares about her fans. What a show!! She never fails to please and that she did.

I have been to MANY concerts throughout the years and this show was amazing!!! I love the intimacy of the venue. The Kenneth Brian Band was a great opening act, as well. Lucinda looked wonderful and I was up close and personal! She ended the show with Neil Young's Rockin' in the Free World. A perfect ending.

I wasn't there for the whole event, but the three acts before Lucinda where great. After a couple of ballads, Lucinda said no more of that and it was full tilt from that point forward, her and the band had the place rockin' to the end and through an encore. I'm in love!

For her first Tahoe gig in perhaps forever, Lucinda Williams left her big band at home and brought up-and-coming songwriter/singer/guitarist Blake Mills along for accompaniment. Just a stripped-down, half-acoustic, half-amplified visit with the great and gritty lady as if we were in on a living room jam session. She did upwards of 15 songs, concentrating mostly on stuff from "Car Wheels on a Gravel Road" and subsequent albums. She did only one track from her latest album "Blessed," the title song, saving it for the encore, and pulled out a couple of obscurities from other artists, including some tasty Delta blues and Bruce Springsteen's "Factory" from his "Darkness on the Edge of Town" album. Lucinda was in fine voice especially once she settled in — she's always fighting stage fright — and Mills provided spot-on, if sometimes loose, backup, working his finger-picking and slide magic on several instruments, including a 10-string mandolin. Lucinda change up the set list nightly so every song had an experimental edge, which worked well in this intimate setting. An excellent outing especially for deep-track fans.

With the newest lead guitar player the band has done nothing but get even better. Lucinda was awesome as always. I can't wait until they come back to St. Louis.

I saw Lucinda Williams and her very talented band Saturday October 8th at Billy Bob's Texas. I was so impressed with Lucinda and the band - they were better than great, had tons of energy - interacted with the audience and played all of what I consider to be their best songs. Often times artists go on tour promoting a new album and play most of their new matrieal on tour. Well, Lucinda opted to perform many older songs from different CD's and really I think only one song from the new Album, the title track "Blessed". She had people clapping hands and stomping feet. They came back out for a 2 or 3 song encore. A full hour and 45 minute show - without a trace of them being tired. This is a long tour for them and I was afraid it might show, but no way. They performed strongly and the sound quality was excellent. It was one of the best shows I've ever seen, and I have seen hundreds of live bands.

It was a great 2 hour performance at The Vogue in Indianapolis. New band mates provided rousing bass, drums and sweet electric guitar. There were a couple of song mis-starts, but hey, we're all human. Good mix of music from new Blessed CD, also from Essence. It was a no-nonsense, we're here to sing show.

Dwight Yoakum is as classy as ever- as a person and performer. He and his band rule the stage. Lucinda Williams definitely still has it! Steve Earl loves dropping the "f-bomb" and making negative political remarks that the crowd really didn't seem to love. You gotta know your crowd buddy. KY and Ohio are red states. I didn't spend my hard earned money to endure your rhetoric.

Dwight was disappointing. He only played for maybe an hour. Opening acts talking politics was annoying.

Lucinda Williams and Steve Earle were inspirational, as usual. Nice to see and hear artists with integrity still making a go of it. We're big fans of Dwight as well, he is a spectacular performer, with a great band, but the last two times we've seen him, his front-of-house mix was horrendous. Low-mids booming everywhere, could not hear the vocal, very resonant sizzle every time a "D" was hit. I stuffed makeshift earplugs in my ears just to keep from burning them up. I noticed the other acts had in-ear monitors, and Dwight's outfit was still using the big wedges. These pavilions are problematic, but usually the closing act has the best mix. This was not the case Wednesday night. Opening act "Big Leg" was not my cup of tea, but I can see why some people would like it. Good musicianship, but the songs just did not give me anything to latch on to, personally. Thinking something is good and liking it are not the same thing. It looks like Dwight is kinda fostering this guys career startup, (he directed a recent video for their "Great Outdoors" cut) so he must have something good going for him. Maybe they will grow on me. I usually don't go to big shows and prefer theater concerts in the under $40 range, but PNC Pavilion is a great outdoor venue where you can conveniently see great acts at a decent price. Best in the NKY region.

I go to many concerts. My standard is that I must be able to hear the words to the songs sung. There were 4 acts and I was familiar with most of the music but I absolutely could not understand the words sung. This is unacceptable and if I could I would get my money back I would. PS, Dwight Yokum was understood the best, but he did a practice sound check b 4 the concert. Professional Act !

Of the 4 acts ( King Leg opening, Steve Earle, Lucinda Williams, Dwight Yoakum), Lucinda was my favorite. Her energy and connection with us as an audience were great. She and Steve Earle both used their music to comment on current events, which really resonated with me. Dwight Yoakum's playing and singing were gorgeous, but somehow weren't as vivid. Also, I really like watching bands play, and his band's clothing was so flashy I could hardly look at the stage. Really enjoyed hearing King Leg for the first time. Venue is super nice, but food way too expensive.

Venue was okay. Nothing spectacular. Steve Earle is talented but very vulgar (lot of F bombs) and very political. Same with Lucinda Williams. I don't go to concerts to hear political views. Or hear F words. Because of them I can't give a good review. And I will never go see them again. Another issue is the way the ushers require to see your ticket every time you leave your seat. Only place I ever been that requires that. Not good. The only positive was Dwight Yoakum. He was great. No politics. Not vulgar language. Just great music.

4 bands; reminded me of the old Fillmore friendly concerts! Great mix of songwriter styles, and contrasts. Lucinda mixed her gritty poetry with a band led by Stuart Mathis, who can complement her songs with anything from folk picking to Rock! Steve Earle is a master songster who voiced social commentary along with great music. Dwight also had a great guitar player, and sang country history tributes, as well as his latest! I left after midnight, and they were still going strong! Hooray to the Beacon - keep that great music coming! MusicRoy

The Beacon Theatre is my favorite place to hear music in NYC. Unfortunately every time I go there the sound is not very distinct and there are people constantly getting up and walking up and down the isles or getting up and dancing in front of me. As far as the performance is concerned, I had to leave after the fourth song. I am getting tired of going to hear these older musicians who appear to be performing (if you can call it that) not for the delight of performing but I fear for the making of money and filling their time. There was little entertainment and connection with the audience, no joy. I was not able to hear the singers/lyrics. In the day and age you would think that the sound would be incredible, especially for the prices we are now paying. I came from Connecticut and felt that it was a waste of my time and money. Sorry to be so sharp with criticism but this is the experience I am having lately. I saw Boz Scaggs in Stamford the other night and had virtually the same experience, performance for other reasons than to thrill the audience. I enjoyed being there and the nice staff more than the experience of the concert.

Lucinda put on a great show as part of the LSD Tour. Her performance was fantastic, so glad I went to concert and saw her. Great lead guitarist! LSD Tour included several groups: Lucinda Williams (Very, Very Good), Steve Earle (Fair/Poor - Should have been left out of Tour)), Dwight Yoakam (Great) & King Leg (Good, but bad sound).

It seamed like LUCINDA was supposed to be the headliner, but it turned out to be DWIGHT, with Steve Earle opening. Maybe that's why they called it the LSD tour. Everybody was good, if just a little bit TRIPPY !!!
