New York Liberty

This was my first wnba game. I was a nets season ticket holder for 7 years when they played in NJ. And I gotta tell you... this game was one of the most enjoyable basketball games I've ever attended. The price of the tickets allowed me to purchase floors seats for my entire family at a reasonable price. The women are true athletes. The liberty scored over 100 points just like the men's games. The level of competition was just as intense as the NBA minus the dunks. Food prices were much more affordable than a typical men's event. I'm definately returning to watch other matches.

Had a great time. Going to as many games as possible.

Our sight lines to the court were obstructed by not only the players standing but we had to deal with water boys, team trainer and Parks Events Staff. We asked Events Staffer if he could step back a step or two but he said he needed to be in the general vicinity of where he currently stood. Later we asked his supervisor if that Events Staffer could be moved back and he said yes and had the gentleman take two steps back. However the water boys and team trainer continued to be in the way. Would definitely go again to support the team but would never sit there again.

The basketball skill level is amazing. Madison Square Garden sets the stage for a perfect sports night. The music, half-time performance and the cheerleaders were great. I would recommend this event to anyone that enjoys athletics.

We decided to see this game to 'experience' Madison Square Garden while in NY. We had pretty low expectations, but actually had such a brilliant time. The atmosphere was fantastic and the game was edge-of-the-seat. Definitely recommended!

It was our first time into the Madison. We loved the show, and also the sport. For our next travel to NYC, we are thinking to buy two or three tickets, to enjoy better all things happened: the pet, the dancing, the songs, the public...

It was a good game to go to because of where I was sitting which was pretty close to the court and I was able to see a few celebrities up close.

I used to live in New York and went to women's basket ball games often. I had not been back for three years. I was going to be in New York for a few nights, so I checked the schedule for the WNBA. I couldn't be more delighted. My two favorite teams were playing on the one night that I could attend! Once I got to the Garden, I was thrilled again. There cannot be a better arena. I saw how much I missed going to the games there. The game was wonderful. I must confess, though, that I was a little disappointed that Becky Hammon was not in the game. She is my favorite player. I attended the game by myself, but the people around me, as usual, were friendly and I felt at home again!

What a marvellous event! We love seeing the women play basketball and since we have been following it since its inception all of the players are quite familiar to us-- it feels like hanging with family. The level of play is outstanding, the action fast and furious, the fans are fabulously enthusiastic. And, unlike the NBA, it is still quite affordable -- for the price of what would be an upperlevel seat in the NBA you can sit courtside! The best deal in town.

The WNBA game is not only sport.... it is also a show! For european standards it is a very funny way to watch sports but it quite an experience. It is worth - besides for the game itself - because of the ambience, the crowd, the interactive speaker and all the cheering. There are no breaks: The show goes on during time-outs and between game sections. The NBA (men) should be even more impressive, conting on a fully loaded arena!

Although we lost, the day game was exciting. I sat a few rows from Billie Jean King!

This event was a first for my family of four. My fiance couldn't believe that he could enjoy a "WOMAN'S" basketball game !! Interacting with the season ticket holders were really great . Everyone knew each others name and were so inviting and friendly. My 7 year old never seen a professional game before and was amazed at EVERYTHING. My 22 month old loved saying DE FENSE!!! when ever that bass line beat came in he knew that was his chance to chant!!! He still chants when ever he sees a basketball . It's great beacuse it reminds us of how much fun we had at this event . I enjoyed the entertaiment and activities in between time outs and breaks . The Timeless and Lil Torches are my FAVORITE!! i was Thoroughly entertained.I recommend this as a No. 1 family event!

LIBERTY HAD IT FOR A WHILE, BUT LOST IT. WHAT EVER HAPPENS. CANT FIGURE IT OUT. THEY CAN AND WILL DO IT!!! ALWAYS HAVE A POSITIVE NOTE FOR THE GIRLS!

Went to the game with kids aged 7-12 and they had a great time with the constant entertainment and music during the game. The only downside was the play itself which wasn't very good. Not sure if we caught a bad game but I wouldn't necessarily recommend to a basketball fan. That said, for younger kids it is a fun outing and it is certainly much less expensive with better seat opportunities than other sporting events at MSG.

Great game even though Liberty lost. McCarville was great! Only one men's bathroom was open, which my husband was not happy about, had to walk to the other side of the arena to use it.

Got absolutely great seats!!!:) It was really nice seeing a game so up close. Would definitely recommend to my friends.

I would love the opportunity to send plays to coach. You don't wait until you have a better team to send in the new Rutgers play to match up against bigger players. She needs to play more or have all three big players in at one time .

I got there and there the guy checking tickets directed me to the opposite side of the court where we sat front row an arms length away from the basketball players and less than a foot away from the actual COURT I was unforgettable I will never forget that moment FLOOR TICKETS at Madison Square Garden 4 cheap only from TicketMASTER!!!!

It was my first time to a pro game and the reason we went was my granddaughters and grandson play ball so it was a complete surprise right up until we hit the Lincoln Tunnel and the 9th grader remembered that was the way they went on their class trip but she thought we were going to a show and then when we passed the Garden they knew and they were, I guess excited and busting at the seams. I was very impressed also and my son in law, their dad went also and he enjoyed hisself also. The only disappointment was the Lisa Leslie wasn't there.

Liberty started fast 11-0 & kept the game very competitive but late faded to a 69-60 loss. But it was a great game though..Nothing like being in The Garden!! LOVED BEING COURT SIDE :o) Great crowd & great entertainment....GET DOWN MADDIE!!!!! GET DOWN TORCHES!!!!

Thank you Ticketmaster for letting me get great seats... I was bummed that Lisa Leslie did not play in this game (nor did I see her), but it was great that Candace Parker was there... Also, I was only 2 rows behind the Liberty bench; great seats man & I was able to get candid shots... Legendary ex-WNBA and ex-Liberty players Sue Wicks and Kim Hampton were in attendance, as well... LA Sparks beat the liberty 69-60... It was tough rooting for LA since I'm a NewYorker, but I just love Candace Parker!!!

On a beautiful day in New York City, July 9th 2009 the visiting Los Angeles Sparks beat the New York Liberty 69 to 60. Women's Basketball is a cheaper alternative to men's basketball while receiving more palpable passion. I was sitting in 34 dollar seats that would have gone for over 100 dollars if it had been Knick game. Excitement was in the air as Candace Parker the league's reigning most valuable player and rookie of the year made her first trip of the season to the garden in only her second game back from maternity leave. Call me crazy but I think Candace Parker is superwoman reincarnated. The entertainment at the Garden was very good as well. The Timeless Torches group was a crowd favorite. In addition, the inflatable Liberty mascot broke it down on the dance floor and ending out her piece with a moonwalk to Michael Jackson's, "Billie Jean". Thank you ticketmaster!

Courtside, Madison Square Garden, New York Liberty vs. Los Angeles Spark. This ain't your grandma's basketball game. These women rock. They got serious game and the atmosphere at the Garden is electric. It's a great show all around. Excellent entertainment value. A little light on souvieners, programs, etc., but there is a club/gift shop for those who must have a Liberty t-shirt or jersey before they go home.

It was a great game by the sparks and Liberty. Liberty started off red HOT!!..but the sparks cooled them off. Halftime was great show from a band and they had intermission entertainment you would not want to miss. I enjoyed this game a lot

I enjoyed the game a lot. The ticket prices were really good and i got to sit right behind the spark's bench. The seats were comfortable and the staff was very nice and helpful. The game was close until the end so it wasnt boring at all. Overall i loved the game it was an amazing experience.

I finally went to my first WNBA Game at Madison Square Garden and it was an awesome experience. The seats were VIP and the game was great, great view of it all right in the middle of the court. Had a great time and definetely look forward to going to more games!!!

This was my first WNBA game and my first visit to the westchester county center. I bought two tickets in section 202 row A from ticketmaster, which I was directed to from the Liberty basketball team's website. I arrived to the section and I was greeted by a stadium service representative, which he informed me that there was an issue with our seating arrangements. Someone was already sitting in my seats. Turned out, the stadium sold more tickets in that row that could accommodate for. I asked the representative for someone I could speak to about this issue and I was directed to a sales representative, who apologized for the incident and told us to sit in an empty seat in general admission. This was unacceptable because we payed for the first row and then was told to sit in worse seats. The sales rep. was not accommodating at all.

Love the smaller arena, great seats and views. First liberty game at this arena. Will definitely come back.

Enjoyed getting to see the New York Liberty in their home arena. The seating has fans close to the action and the arena is visually appealing. Some adventure involved in traveling from NYC to Westchester County, but was an interesting trip. A different pedestrian design from the parking lot to the building could be safer instead of having to navigate the traffic circle and having to use law officers as traffic control workers.

Can't believe this venue is the home of a professional sports team. While the building itself is gorgeous 1920s Art Deco), the sightlines are absolutely horrible. If you think 8th row midcourt seats are great, think again. Can barely see over the row in front of you. Moved to 2nd level and it was just as bad (sideline view is blocked). Never going back, shame on you NY Liberty.

New Yorkers... where are you at the games? The Liberty belong at MSG so people from all boroughs attend to support the Lady Liberty. Westchester County Center is not designed for sports. Unless you re in a front row you cant even see the whole court. Secondary ticket markets are ridiculously priced for this venue.

So happy the Lib have moved to the WCC out of MSG. Such a better vibe in the County Center than watching them play in front of 16,000 empty seats at the Garden. Fan, child-friendly, the entire experience is a positive, wholesome night out. I highly recommend seeing them at the County Center.

The County Center is easy to get to with convenient parking. A good place to watch a basketball game

The game was amazing. It was easy to get autographs and pictures based on how the place was set up. The crowd also had a lot of Liberty energy.

True Girl Power to the max!! We started going to see the UCONN graduates play. We love all the players now. The Liberty players have amazing skills and sportsmanship. The Westchester County Center is a perfect venue. There s not a bad seat in the house. You can get tickets for as low as $12. Definitely bring the family. I can t recommend the WNBA enough. Support the woman. Support the game. Excellent family fun

NY Liberty and Chicago Sky played well. Game was exciting. Venue was a big disappointment. Had the feel of a high school gym. Didn't feel like a professional venue. Must be tough for the players who are used to playing at Madison Square Garden.

We enjoyed the experience and will be back. The quality of basketball was excellent and the various entertainment was pretty good. Our biggest problem was the playing of very loud music virtually throughout, especially during introductions. How much sense does it make to play music so loudly that fans can't hear the names being announced? Thanks for asking!

Excellent service and seating. As a parent of a 11 yo girl athlete and coach of womens sports, I would like to see more involvement in women/girls bball programs or link into other sports to help both the liberty and future girl athletes become fans and influence them to get involved. I also attended the Knicks coaches conf. before the game and it was so informative and important but the turnout was light. Please let me know how I could help. The Westchester County Center had a high school feel to it. If you like a small setting and not into large crowds, this is perfect. Coming from Long Island, it took me forever to get to the venue: LIRR to Penn Station, any subway going north to Times Square, S Train to Grand Central, Metro North to Whiteplains. In all, it took me a little under 3 hours to get to the venue (remember, that's also 3 hours to get home). I am a Liberty fan and this venue just won't work for a New York team (not because of my traveling either). This sort of reminds of the Islanders playing in Brooklyn, Brooklyn rejected the Islanders and I feel Westchester has rejected the Liberty. Would love to see the average attendance of the venue for Liberty games. Prices are reasonable compared to MSG but it's understandable.

Great venue, not a bad seat in the house, to see the NY Liberty in action. Ticket prices are very reasonable too! Grab some tickets and have an enjoyable afternoon at the Westchester County Center.

The New York Liberty is always a wonderful team to watch. This is what real New York Basketball looks like. Win or lose, those women put their hearts and souls into the games they play. It s a shame they aren t playing at the Garden, but I m willing to travel to Westchester to attend as much games as I can and support my Liberty.

A lot of people have taken the Liberty's move to Westchester as a chance to attack the venue simply because they don't like the company that owns them, the Knicks and Rangers - and it's unfair to the WNBA. I've been to WNBA games in Wash. DC, CT, MSG and now the County Center. The tickets cost considerably less and you're right up close to the action here - this is a bad thing ? My kids LOVED the game we attended and complained 2 days later when we sat in the 6th Row at the Lynx vs DC game - because we were MUCH further from the court. The County Center definitely needs to get people into the arena MUCH quicker - security takes longer than it should - and the concessions are lacking in choices ... but we're there to see basketball so those annoyances are secondary.

It was fan appreciation day, and we got there in time to get our pins. It was a little over an hour before the game, so they wouldn't let us into the arena. We got moved from place to place. The Garden's been doing this a long time, so I guess they know what they're doing, yet somehow it seemed a clunky way to get into the game. However, once we were inside, things went well. Not only did we get to watch exciting basketball, but the food was good as well. Lots of family attractions going on between the quarters or during time-outs. The game was close up until the final quarter when the Liberty slowly pulled away. We had a great view from our midcourt seats, even though we were in the last row. Looking for great sports action with a little less testosterone thrown around? I recommend the NY Liberty.

Great game. The players were fierce. The players were great role models for my 9 year old daughter. Great family fun.

I went to see a WNBA game this passed Sunday and I really enjoyed it. The seats were great. I would definitely attend another game at Madison square garden.

My husband and I went to the Liberty game on Sunday, and it was a great date because they were victorious against the Lynx. That win with high scorers Ephiany Prince and Tianna Charles, helped them gain a spot in the playoffs.

This is America! Amazing entertainment and incredible match.

We arrived through all the crowds to be helped to our seat which was mid center. We were able to see everything, even with a couple in front of us. We were entertained by kids performing Karate, 2 gentleman playing against each other in a game of tic tac toe and of course, the amazing Liberty team.

This was my 4th trip to a NY Liberty game over the last couple of years. But it was the first that I shared with my two daughters. Their enthusiasm added an extra dimension to the competitive nature of the game itself. We will certainly do this again.

I was not a big fan of Woman's Professional Basketball in previous years but because of my Friends Daughter playing (Allisha Gray) I have started to watch more. I have really become a fan now! The style of play is something I have really enjoyed.

I'm in loving with New York Liberty. The girls are magic and give me a wonderful moment. Also was the Swin Cash goodbye, and was so emotional.

I surprised my daughter with tickets to the game. It was an unforgettable night. When we got to our seats, she cried tears of joy.

The game was awesome! Our seats were great! The price was excellent! So so so worth it!!!!

Loved the venue. Loved access to MSG from LaGuardia Airport via NYAirporter which dropped me off at Penn Station. NOW there were not enough food selection choices and the popcorn was stale.

It was an exciting game. Atlanta led for much of the first half. It was a fast paced game and the crowd was into it.

I was on vacation on east coast and decided to get my wife tickets to the NY Liberty basketball game. We had a fantastic time. Our seats were excellent and the thrill of being back at Madison Square Garden after 10 years was just the perfect way to celebrate her birthday. We used to be season ticket holders before moving to California so this was such a great treat. Highly recommend snyone near NY to go see a gsme it is judt a great way to spend a day and help women's basketball stay a msjor sport.

The NY Liberty players are extremely talented and represent some of the best basketball talent in the world. I will definitely be going to see them again!

My 9 year old granddaughters loved it. As did their grandparents, father and stepmother. What a positive family outing. And the Liberty even won big.

Non-stop action and high emotions set the tone for the NY Liberty team s Breast Cancer Awareness Night game against the Storm. I thoroughly enjoy NY Liberty games. This game in particular was special as it raised awareness for the Susan G. Koman Breast Cancer program. Inducting former NY Liberty team player, Jennifer Lobo into the Ring of Honor could not have been more timely as she lost her mother to the disease threes prior to the August 9th game. This game was a winner in so many ways...it was also the first time that the Liberty beat the Storm since July 3, 2008. The half-time entertainment was superb. Thank You!

It was my first wnba game live and I enjoyed the garden, the atmosphere and the liberties very much! It was a real good start! They wore the pink jersey to support breast cancer researches and women...a great support to be backed by all women and men! We missed the first ball and the mystics, especially when #30 Smith was son the ground, were very tough! We were down, but I didn't come from Italy to see LIBERTY lose, no doubt! Cappie Pondexter, point by point led the "pink" closer and closer, MacCornell #4 was devastating in the blue area..and Essence Carson (that I admired in Italy) was so good! We were a team, the team on the ground! the match, the feeling was wonderful, a great experience that I enjoyed very much! Something I wanna do again, any time possible I will be in US. Italians enjoys better! :-) good life to you all

Took my twin 5 year old daughters for their first professional sporting event. They had a blast... want to go again. The game was close 3 out of 4 quarters... nail biter 'till the end.

The Liberty were at their best yesterday against the Chicago Sky (unlike the debacle of the Friday night away game at Chicago !) Janel was back and looking good and Sylvia Fowles of Chicago was still out with a sprained ankle so we thought right from the start that we had a bit of an edge. Sue Wicks and Kym Hampton were in the house and Ann Donovan is always a calming, but energetic influence. And the Liberty rocked !! What an exciting game - and our seats were fabulous (Court 28) thanks to Ticketmaster. We even had two friends show up at the box office that afternoon and they were kind enough to find them seats right near ours. So we had 9 cheering, ecstatic Liberty fans sitting courtside. A special thanks to Mary in Customer Service at Ticketmaster for her help with the Liberty tickets. I almost made the faux pas of securing seats right behind the Chicago bench (Court 19). Luckily, with Mary to the rescue I opted for Court 28 which were fabulous seats. I will definitely use Ticketmaster again in the future .... Thanks for a great game and a great day !!!

I'm a Seattle Storm fan who lives in Pennsylvania. Every few years, I'm lucky enough to catch the Storm on their only visit to Madison Square Garden. Madison Square Garden is easily accessible by train or bus, and because I've been a WNBA fan since 1997, I like to go to at least one game each season, even if I can't see the Storm play. This year, I was lucky enough to make it to two games. The second game took place on August 14, 2009, when the New York Liberty hosted the Chicago Sky. I like the Liberty but had recently bought a Sylvia Fowles jersey, so I decided to root for the Sky. The great thing about the WNBA is that most home fans don't care if you root for the opponent. Sure, they may give you the evil eye, but they're usually pretty respectful. I was lucky enough to score seats four rows behind the Sky bench, so I was pretty much in paradise. My ticket only cost me $85--a great value for a professional basketball game. If I lived close enough to go to ten games a season, I probably wouldn't sit that close every game. However, since I only go once or twice a season, I figure I might as well spend a few extra dollars and sit as close as possible. The Sky dominated the first half. By halftime, they led by 28 points. However, the Liberty made a comeback in the third quarter, which made the crowd go crazy. Ultimately, the Sky were able to hold on to their lead, and they ended up winning 88-77. The Sky's Sylvia Fowles had 22 points and 9 rebounds, and Candice Dupree added 20 to help her team win its second game in a row. During halftime, several people were honored, including NBA legend Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, who sat courtside. If you look closely at my tip-off picture, you will see him sitting to the left of #20 Shameka Christon. After the game, I headed down to where the Sky bus was parked, to see if I could get a few autographs. After waiting for about 45 minutes, I saw Sylvia Fowles walking toward the small crowd that had gathered. She signed autographs and posed for pictures with everyone. Sometimes, rooting for the opponent can be very rewarding. Even when the Liberty is having a terrible season, their fans still support them. Close to 10,000 people showed up for Friday's game. The same number came to the Mercury at Liberty game in July. Liberty legends like Kym Hampton mingle with the crowd and pose for pictures during the game, and it's not uncommon to see WNBA President Donna Orender walking around the arena. In fact, she sat right in front of me in July. If you're lucky, you may even see Teresa Weatherspoon sitting courtside. I haven't gotten her autograph yet, but I'm convinced I will. If you're looking for a fun and inexpensive way to spend a few hours in New York City, I highly recommend going to a Liberty game. You'll see the best women's basketball players in the world, and you may even get to meet one of them!

Hard to enjoy my fave team, the Liberty, when they re relegated to playing in as pathetic an arena as this place. What a shame!!

I simply loved the match and the atmosphere, unbelievably fun!

My two daughters and I were very happy with our seats. And we had no idea that we were sitting in a area were we can get free food. And the best part is that I got to be a part of a game right on the garden floor. That was great to play a little basket ball on a historic arena.

This was my second Liberty game but first at MSG. I specifically went to see how the Liberty would handle Breanna Stewart. My seats in Section 108 were outstanding. After a runaway first quarter by the Liberty, the game turned into a very competitive matchup. Breanna was the high scorer, and ironically it was her two missed free throws that sealed the Liberty victory. I'm going to try to return this season.

We had fun. Enjoyed the activities on the time outs. The last time I came to a game we received a nice present, this time not even a sticker. Maybe you can consider giving something like a sticker that isn't that expensive but people can collect them or have a it as a souvenir.

They just keep getting better & better, hence more fun to watch. I need my men's off-season basketball fix, and The Liberty, & this exciting game in particular, serve to satisfy my need. I've been a fan for 20 years, and still loving it.
