Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show

The show I rate 4 out of 5. In the general admission seats the action was just a bit far away. As one of maybe 12 black minority (4-5 ticket holders) individuals, I thought the atmosphere was pleasant...myself and my Hispanic girlfriend only got weird looks from a few...but I think it was more of a rich vs poor thing rather than a black vs white..the vendors were outstanding. One of the bozos from the Lincoln exhibit locked the doors on the cars on me but the manager made up for it. I took my girl to see the ponies on valentines day... She had fun.

The horses were amazing! Especially if you love Arabian horses. The program was very long though.

Although the show was entertaining even for "non horse" people, the seating in the main arena needs to be better organized. We purchased reserved bleacher seats for the Final Night championship. We thought by pre purchasing our seats, we would avoid the first come first serve hassles of the other bleacher seating. However, the reserved bleacher seats are right on the walking path. So throughout the entire show people are constantly walking in front of you, stopping to watch the show, and blocking your view the whole time. It is ridiculous that they actually charge extra for these seats. They are the worst ones in the whole arena. Definitely not worth the money.

What a long, boring event! Doing the macarena? Ridiculous! Cancel the Mounted Police - we've seen it every year! Shorten the introductions to people who helped with the event and the board. Bring back the Park Class to liven it up. Bring back the side saddle class for added interest. This year was the worst and I've been going for ever! All I heard from the audience was groaning.

This show is done so tastefully - full of organization and always operates very professionally and entertaining!

This show has been on my bucket list for a long time, so I was thrilled to go. We bought tickets online for Saturday evening several months in advance because it sells out. When I bought the tickets I was unfamiliar with the arena so I had Ticketmaster select the best seats available. BAD CHOICE. We purchased tickets on Row B. This would be great except it is two rows up from the major walkway around the arena. We saw a lot of people walking in front of us, and every once in a while, we caught a glimpse of a horse. When I complained, I was told they can't do anything about it. This is bull. Most sporting events with this type of seating will not let people walk back to their seats during a class or event. You must wait until the next break. This at least reduces the people walking in front of reserved seats. SUGGESTION: Do not buy seats lower than row D in the Equidome or all you will see are people walking in front of you.

I went into this experience not knowing what to expect. I came away an avid fan of this event and Arabian horses. I recommend doing the guided barn tour first. It provides a knowledge base regarding the horses and makes it possible to truly appreciate what you are seeing the rest of the day. Watching these beautiful creatures run untethered is absolutely Magical!

My family loved it so much that we are returning again today. The horses were amazing and the sbows were great.

The event is spectacular! The horses and riders are perfection. The shopping is also great and there was a good variety of food.

My husband is not a horse enthusiast, but wanted to get more "up close and personal" (I love horses). I decided sharing the Behind The Scenes Barn Tour and Meet An Arabian Horse demonstrations with him would be beneficial...and it was! Susan Shea was awesome in hosting this experience at her barn, and her staff-very knowledgeable. We also watched several events, and did some "shopping." He really had fun...and so did I! We also thought this was a great "value" for the money. We'll be back next year!

the show was nothing like I thought it would be. I was disappointed. I did not realize that it would be different classes of horse and rider and we would witness them receiving their ribbons. I thought it would be more of an entertaining show of showing the horses in costumes etc.

The horses are great, and they do a great job for the spectator. A great way to get in to the industry.

We were disappointed that there was not riders along with a horse event show.

The Arabian Horse Show event was a first for me and it was setup nicely with all the vendors and event shows. The parking within walking distance to the event and the vendors were all located in the building. I was amazed at the different vendors especially for horses equipment (horse trailers, barns, equestrian supplies, clothing, etc.) and variety of foods available for the customers. We rented a golf cart and cruised around the grounds and saw the Arabian horses in their stall and being prepared for their event, riders practicing, and the stables were presented well. Overall, I would attend another show and it was a wonderful experience for me

A wonderful equine event to attend for anyone who appreciates the beauty of horses as well as the skill of accomplished equestrians.

Great horse show but ticket collection not organized and Sat. night seating was very unorganized with no one knowing how or where people were to sit.

Wonderful time!! with that said, never again will we purchase seats. People were sitting anywhere they wanted-never having to pay the seats they were using. Felt ripped off in that regard.

We have been to this event before on the final night and came away this time very disappointed in the production. While the horses and riders are beautiful and interesting, there were significant numbers of "dead" time throughout the production. There was little energy in the facility. . At 8:30pm, on the north end of the arena, I was told that the restrooms were now closed and I would have to go to the other end. What??????

Very disappointed this year. Didn't seem to be as well run. Event was terribly drug out. I have attended this event for the last 20 or so years and this is the first time I was disappointed like this.

Incredible horses, awesome shopping and delicious food. Going again next year for sure!

The Saturday night events at the Equidome were great and included not only a jumping event, but the ever popular liberty championship. A wide variety of championship events made it a constantly interesting evening!

I have been attending this horse show for 5 years straight now! I always love this event. It is my favorite time of the year!

This is an outstanding event. If you like horses then this is an event you must not miss. All Arabian Horse Shows are great, but this is the best of the best.

A first class event with endless and fascinating events, everything from an arena that only holds jumping events all day, another arena that holds reining events all day, another arena with halter events all day, and another arena with performance events ranging from hunter to western pleasure to show hack and more. Wonderful shopping center with beautiful treasures. Free parking and great for families. Great opportunity for the kids to get up close and personal with an Arabian horse by participating in barn tours and activities.

Loved it all. Would love to be more 'liberty' classes.....and many more horses in the Championship Liberty field.

The show was great. The horses were beautiful, and we had a great time. To make it better, make it easier to understand the fees involved. We heard many people grumble becaue they had purchased tickets for the wrong day, or who didn't realize that the entrance fee did not cover the evening events. Otherwise it was well run and very fun!

Great show if you love or even just like horses. Well organized and a lot to look at.

Fantastic display of Arabian horses. Hunter/Jumpers, Western, Carriage and other disciplines demonstrated by terrific regaled riders. I recommend the show to anyone interested in horses, not just Arabians.

Loved the show and the convenience of having tickets in hand and not standing in line!

The show was wonderful!! All the great shows and beautiful horses. The only problem was that ticketmaster sold our seats to someone else so that when they showed up with the same two seats we have to move. At least the 2 seats next to us were empty to we just moved over. i would suggest not buying tickets on line - have them sent in the mail. i wast told this will prevent this from happening. I would highly recommend the show to anyone who loves horses especially Arabians. Everyone was really friendly too.

I'm glad I finally made it to Scottsdale. Horses were absolutely beautiful!

First time going and did not enjoy the event from the beginning. The teenager taking the ticket knew nothing! I asked where the event was and all she could say was, "UM..." She had to ask someone else and when she told me I couldn't understand nor hear her so the other guy had to tell me it was straight back from the tent we were in. How hard was it for her to know that!! When she took the ticket I didn't notice where I was sitiing so when I had to come back to her to see the ticket she said it was thrown away! I said, "If you were going to throw it away why not just give it back to me instead!' Her response..."UM..."OMG! The time on my ticket said 8:00am so I got there a little before then not knowing that nothing really started nor opened till 9:00. So having to wander around for an hour with a 3yr old wasn't fun. I could only stay for another 2 hrs once it actually started and even tried walking outside but since it was to windy and my son was losing interest since there was nothing interesting going on we ended up leaving. The time I had to be there and the drive was SO not worth it. I will not do it again!

My family and I had a great time at the horse show. We took in some shopping, shows and the barn tour. Would highly suggest to anyone who enjoy's horses go to see this. We will be going back for sure!

For a dyed-in-the-wool horse person, the Scottsdale Arabian Horse Show was like looking into the window of Tiffany's - so many beautiful equine jewels to admire it will take your breath away! If you are not that familiar with horses, here is a prime learning opportunity to experience the beauty and magic of them and learn about the many reasons that these exquisite creatures can draw you in with their magic. This was truly a family experience that should not be missed by anyone!!

Enjoyed the show, beautiful horses. Haven't seen the show in a very long time. Last time was at the old arena on Bell. Westworld was a big improvement--but I miss being able to wander around the horse stalls and visit with the competitors I use to know. It was very low key. It's a big deal now.

This was the best time ever. I go every year as it lands on my birthday. Got lots of good stuff. Good food, venders, and beautiful horses.

We really enjoyed the show. We spent most of our time in one of the horse barns getting to love on the horses. Such an awesome experience for my granddaughter. Of course, she wants a horse more than ever now. Just doesn't want to clean up after it. The only negative was the seating in the arena. Our seats were adequate, but someone else had a ticket for one of our seats and that also happened with some of the people around us. Don't know what happened at ticketmaster, or if the other tickets were fakes, but since we were in our seats already there wasn't a problem.

This is a lovely event especially for newbies. Very long 4 hour program because they give ribbons to the top 10 in every event, take photos of top 2. Best part is Western Pleasure costumes and the Arabian costume competitions. Very disappointed in ticketing. My tickets were supposed to be assigned seating in the box area. No section was assigned to my ticket. There are numbered sections in the arena, each one having sections A,B,C,D., then row and seat assignments. NO ONE EVEN CHECKED TICKETS AT ANY ENTRY OR ENFORCED SEATING. So, those that came in on the regular day ticket just moved down to the paid reserved seats, brought pets, stood in front of us during performance, etc.. Total waste of money for something I could've seen on my day ticket for FREE.

Horses were beautiful, weather was perfect but the whole event seemed somewhat unorganized to those not showing. At least 3 arenas and no way to find out what was happening in them until they started coming out to show. No programs, paid for seats that were unmarked and absolutely no employees to assist in even locating the area we paid for. Drinks and food overpriced as you would expect and it was more a trade and exhibit show from our perspective. Do not buy seats, just pay the general admission. Huge open arenas and you wont want to sit in one location to long and there were so many open seats I think we were the only ones who paid in advance.

This horse shows puts the show back in show! The horses are gorgeous, the competition is tough, the staff is great, the facility is top notched, the shopping is amazing, and the food plentiful. The special actives for the general public are informative, educational, and fun. Beside the horse show there is so much to see and do. Fun for all ages.

I have been to a lot of events in Arizona and this one is the best!! This is more than a horse show. I was amazed at the shopping seemed like hundreds of unique vendors to choose from. I had to go back a second day just to continue shopping as the first day I spent most of my time watching the competitions, meeting an Arabian horse (which I got to sit on and they gave me a photo of me sitting on it for FREE) WOW. Great Food Vendors I will be the first in line next year!

I have been looking forward to going to this event for years. I hope someone in charge reads this review and tries to change things. I have been to many horse shows over the years. This was supposed to be one of the premiere events. And for as long as it has been going on, I would have thought so. We went to the Sat. night finals show and were so disappointed in the slowness and lack of entries of all events. The show started at 6 and by 8, we had only seen about 6 horses, because they had so many demonstrations or awards ceremonies. Those are all fine, but should not be included as part of the main event when folks have come to see the best horses in the World. How utterly sad. The other primary purpose for attending was to see the costumed riders. There were only 6, again quite disappointing. This all may be due to the fact that this was the Finals night and maybe the entrants were reduced because of that. There is so much hype around the event, one would not have thought that to be the case. Needless to say, I won't return nor recommend it to my visiting friends.

WOW!!!!!!!!! First time for me. I thought it was wonderful. I will be sure to go when it first opens in the morning. The venders were great also. Many talented crafts persons.
