Absolutely Gorgeous stage, for Ballerinas..they strength, shows purelybin their training, their love to dance..they captured my breathe,to the point i had to remind myself to exhale...ballerinas performance was soul-touching,uplifting and even joyfull with "silvery-tears"..their training is so perfect,their,acting..some looked like dolls, till they danced...their stories, they danced to where amazing, the drama, the love for dance, how hard they danced to deeply touch us,me anyways...ending to quickly..yet a dreamer never wants such dream to end..briefly met the young men dancuers..inspite of they spoke lil'lil english,i asked them to please return to Parker Playhouse, and told them how grandly thy danced.. lead dancer with beret,on head during ballet, thanked me..i am a believer, dance brings us together, specially Ballet dancuers like the Moscow Ballet...many thanks for your great event on a sunny-sunday afternoon..

My neighbor and I saw the ballet, Sleeping Beauty, in Sikeston, Missouri, performed by the Moscow Festival Ballet. The ballet was beautiful. The dancers were so super talented. The music was great. The costumes were gorgeous. The lighting was magical. The whole evening was exquisite. The ballet company was so nice. After the show, many of the performers posed in costume with audience members. We were enchanted by the whole performance.

On a rainy day wanted something to do indoors, got great seats from ticketmaster and went with the girlfriend to see the play... Amazing!!! What a performance... Why have I not been to more Ballets... A great time and education to boot! Well worth the 100 miles I drove to see it.

I LOVE the Swan Lake ballet. This was my second time seeing it performed. The stage at the Balboa Theatre was a little small, but the ballet was still absolutely amazing and beautiful. The principle ballerina who played Odetta was stunning. We enjoyed the jester very much, too. It was a fabulous evening filled with delicate grace.

The Balboa Theatre was a perfect venue for this. The scenery and costumes fit right in and were amazing to watch. Act III was the best, of course. Act I was a bit long before an intermission but that was the only negative we can think of. Its a perfect story to tell as a ballet and will be loved by all!

The sleeping beauty ballet was a beautiful clasical for my little girl. I think the theatre is a little small for the whole corp of the ballet, but is beautiful inside. We where deligthed by princess Aurora movements and prince Desire. I saw a great effort of the whole company to give a great espectacle.

It was one of those,"You had to be there," performances to appreciate the professionalism of this company. The pre-recorded music didn't take anything away from the performance. It would just be one less logistic to worry about for a touring company. The swan princess was very well poised and elegant. Another performer whose performance stood out was the jester. Highly recommended.

Prince Siegfried, Odette and Odile danced superbly. Jester was excellent. Fine costuming. Swans were elegant. Only negatives: Male Corps de Ballet a bit off. Needed a better sound system (venue problem). Highly recommended. A wonderful, memorable evening.

I thoroughly enjoyed the performance. Because this was my very first ballet, I could not give anymore then a 4 star, only because I do not have the ability to compare or critique the actual talent. If I were to grade this performance just from my own enjoyment, I would definitely rate this a 5. My daughter came with me, she has a small amount of ballet background was thoroughly in love with the show. Anyone considering a ballet should definitely see this one. There was some very beautiful moments and great talent as far as a novice opinion. I would definitely go again.

Ballet was wonderful! I think the lead male role was an understudy however, maybe the lead dancer would have been a stronger dancer. Venue is great, though it did get a little stuffy in the theater in the last 15 min or so of a 2 hour performance.

I thought it was very well done technically and the performance was just the right length of time for my daughter and I. Even though she is 4, she did very well throughout but unless your child is very interested in ballet, ballerinas, or princesses, I would recommend it for 8 and up as suggested. Mainly because she did not know the story (unlike Nutcracker, Cinderella, or Sleeping Beauty). Stage was done well, lighting was good, and dancers were very skilled.

Cinderlla was beautifully told....so much so my 4 year old son stayed quiet the whole entire time. His favorite dancer was the stepmom. I wish the Moscow Festival Ballet would have performed to a full house, so many seats were empty:(. Maybe the economy? price? Regardless, I'm glad we were there to enjoy an unforgettable experience.

Since it's difficult to find classical ballet in Atlanta, the Moscow Festival Ballet was a bird in the hand. This is partly in consideration of John McFall's disastrous choreography of the Firebird and other ham-handed attempts at improving on classical ballet. Unfortunately, the choreography by Rostislav Zakharov was more CinderOlga than Cinderella. The saving graces of the performance were the principals and character roles. Ah, well, better than a trek out to Cobb county for another fallen McFall.

I saw the performance of the Sleeping Beauty by the Moscow Festival Ballet at the Valentine Theater in Toledo last month with 50 cast membersand loved it ! I saw the above performance at the Music Hall by the Russian National Ballet Theater in Detroit on March 23 and was disappointed because I expected a quality performance with more sets or scenery. Instead I saw a company of about 15 dancers perform excerpts from various ballets. I had to call the Columbia Artists in NY city in order to find out what the Music Hall program would be. I was hoping it would be The Sleping Beauty again. I found it very difficult to find out ahead of time what the ballet was going to be at the Music Hall. I am not a ballet person, more of a clasical music person. I sat in the first row of the mezzanine and was disappointed in the barren stage at the Music Hall with not one prop or set, just the dancers. There was a back drop which changed colors occasionally, but that was all. I was surprised that the dancers's names were not shown. The program was just a 4 page minimal brochure compared to the Valentine Theater's 20 page brochure with paid ads etc. Are there two different ballet companies ? The Festival and the National ?

The performers were great, however most never changed costumes... if this show is an accumulation of different plays then I'd expect to know when one play ends and another begins. Only hint that we received was a pause in-between each play. There was no description of the plays in the brochures, just names of the plays. My fiance and I were simply watching the event without understanding which play was being performed.

Except for sitting in seats that looked through a railing, the production of Swan Lake by the Moscow Festival Ballet Company was outstanding. After intermission we moved 4 rows higher and that made a huge difference. I'll know never to book balcony seats in the first few rows of balcony at Lee hall again. The ballet was worth every penny and more.

Moscow Festival Ballet's Swan Lake was our first live classical ballet experience, and we were awed by the performance. We feel so lucky to have had the opportunity to watch a production of this caliber in such in this offbeat location. The dancers were mesmerizing, the costuming perfect, the energy contagious! This production made fans of both of us; we will seek other performances by this company.

The youngest and most advanced ballet school in Moscow is great! The Swan Lake ballet is one of the Russian classics so watching it performed by Russian ballet gives it a different edge. Although, i didn't find the leading swan's part to be very difficult, but the joker's pas were magnificent and absolutely captivating. The entire performance was great but those were very young dancers and i think that it could have been better. Also, the costumes were absolutely beautiful and in sync with the rest of the program. Go see it if you can - it's an opportunity of a lifetime :)

I thought this was an excellent ballet! The dancers were not only technically great, but were fun to watch. It was lovely. I especially loved the dancer who played Aurora. She was so light on her feet and vivacious. The Lilac fairy was very nice to watch as well. I enjoyed this from start to finish and would absolutely recommend the Moscow Festival Ballet. The even was very nice, however we were unfortunately sitting close to some children that talked the entire time. It was very disruptive and interfered with our enjoyment. This was clearly not an event for children under 10 since they are to young to understand the non spoken storylines.

What a joy to be able to see a fine quality ballet production 5 minutes from home - no NYC traffic, parking or prices! We find that eating dinner before a performance in one of the many restaurants in Englewood assures us of getting a parking spot directly across the street from the theater. Bergen PAC is to be applauded for bringing this beautiful production of Swan Lake to the suburbs! Granted, the stage is small, but that did not take away from the ballet. The dancers were wonderful and the costumes were dazzling. Imagine my surprise two days later when I received a Viking Cruise catalog and saw the exact costumes on a page devoted to a trip to Russia, down to the headpieces on the women! The Moscow Festival Ballet version of Swan Lake was perfect!

I've seen a number of renditions of "Swan Lake", including by some of the world's leading companies (Mariinsky Ballet, American Ballet Theatre). The performance by the Moscow Festival Ballet at the George Mason University Center for the Arts just didn't measure up; in fact I've seen better ballet performances by teenage students from high-level dance academies. The choreography was greatly simplified compared to the other presentations that I've attended. In particular, the man who danced the role of the prince seemed to have very limited skills (leading me to conclude that he was chosen for the part because he was the tallest man in the company). Unlike just about every other production of "Swan Lake", this version had a different ballerina dancing the role of the black swan.

We would definitely recommend this production to all ages. We thought the talent displayed by the ensemble was remarkable and the costumes were beautiful and appropriate to the theme. We were especially impressed with the abilities of both the male and female principle dancers, Especially the male. He seemed to be able to suspend himself briefly in mid air while performing some of his leaps and jumps. We would definitely attend another performance by this troupe.

I had high expectations for the quality of dance and was so disappointed I nearly left at intermission. The music was a canned recording, which I wouldn't complain about if it weren't for the awkward gap between tracks that sounds exactly like someone burned a disc from iTunes with a 5 second delay. As for the dancing... Well, the corps was wobbly (how is a wobbly corps your internationa troupe?), and the prince had quite a bit of difficulty with his landings. Multiple times, up to the point where he fell flat on his bum. Fortunately he was able to transition it offstage, but the magic was ruined well before that so it hardly mattered. Now the blue fairy was lovely, and the dancer who played Cinderella even more so. For the staging itself, the stage was very small for the company to shove that many dancers on stage, and rather than slimming the dancers down they tried to restage it to the size. It didn't work very well in my opinion. They also cut out scenes, and mishandled the intermission. Acts 1 and 2 went together in a fell swoop, leading into an intermission and bringing us back for a 17 minute Act 3 plus bows. I cannot for the life of me understand how they actually left an entire series of steps out to confirm Cinderella with her glass slipper, either. I regret spending the money on it like you wouldn't believe, and will be probably avoid the venue as well in the future. I'm not entirely sure why REH chose to set up their venue to treat guests as though they're sardines - hot, steaming sardines because the temperature was far too warm for that many people - but it will definitely be something I recall in the future. If ever I return it will NOT be for a ballet. They simply aren't set up for it.

I'm anything but a ballet expert, but this troupe was really nice to watch. Excellent sets, backdrops, and lighting. It'd be cool to have a live orchestra, but hey, you can't have everything. My one complaint? Latecomers are allowed in during the performance, no matter where they're seated or how disruptive it is to get them there. Many theatre-goers have a bad habit of arriving late (come on, people, you KNOW there'll be traffic... this is LA!) and this venue has ample space in the back for the tardy to still see the performance while waiting for their seats during intermission.

The sets, costuming and lighting were everything I hoped for. I can't judge the dancing but it looked spectacular to me, both individual performances and the choreography of groups. I was surprised that the music was not a live orchestra but maybe that is normal for ballet and why the ticket price was so reasonable.

I've been to a few events at Valley Performing Arts Center and it really is a nice venue. The sightlines are very good, as are the acoustics. The Moscow Festival Ballet did a very good job with this ballet. The prima ballerina was exceptonal, as most Russian primas are. But the supporting cast was better than I expected. The theatrics were also well staged. I'll certainly go again should they come back to Los Angeles,.
