Political satire and lampooning at its best, no matter which side of the spectrum. If you are in the news (mostly political news), you are a "target". I like the fact that they change to have the most up-to-the minute items included in their repertoire. I also like that they mention the local politicians as well. All the songs are great, but it is always worth the wait for the Lirty Dies. They simply save the best for the last. It lasted a little over an hour and a half and was well worth what we paid. I have seen them perform several times and I have never been disappointed in what they do. They spare no one!

I have seen the Capitol Steps five times with five different casts in four different cities and they have always been hilarious and right on target with their punches. The Oak Bluffs performance was terrific.

I first saw the Capitol Steps when I worked in Washington DC when Reagan was President. They are today as timeless as ever with their political humor. Politicians come and go, but the Capitol Steps stay around singing their parody of the Beltway's newsmakers. The performance on Martha's Vineyard added a another five star to this group's shows! Not to be missed!

This is a very talented group but I was underwhelmed by the perfomance. The venue made It hard to hear and much was lost. I have seen this group perform previously in Washington, D.C. in smaller venues and was totally impressed. I was eager to see them again and came away disappointed. Either this group has lost its comedic shine with its political satire or the venue was all wrong.

We have seen them before at a different venue and LOVED them. At BERGENPAC the acoustics were terrible with the sound bouncing of the walls and ceiling so that most of the parodies were unintelligible. I would see them again, but elsewhere. I would never go back to this theatre again.

Fantastic show. If you don't like it, I truly feel bad for you. Nertastically wonderful, great renditions of popular songs with satirical lyrics. These former congressional aids are surprisingly good singers and great actors. You'll never see anything better than the heads of state of France, Germany, and Greece doing the Grease medley. Until, that is, Mr. Putin comes out and joins the party.

Just got out of surgery after seeing Capitol Steps on May 4th . . . Split my gut! Laughing! I got the printout of the Lirty Dies and am sending copies to family and friends. Enjoy the challenge of reading it out loud. Impersonation of Obama was superb, and other highlights included Putin, Dick Cheney, and Hillary. And then there was "Sca...li...a. Scalia, Scalia!" with a hilarious Ruth Bader Ginsberg.

The Capitol Steps have a real hit with this year's show. My wife and I laughed through the entire show, which was rapid fire humor at the expense of all of our politicians in Washington and a few closer to home. The writing is excellent, the delivery smooth and the cast really enjoys skewering policitians, judges and other self-made vulnerable targets. If you can see this show, do so.

This was my first Capitol Steps after years of hearing advertisements and wanting see to the live performance. This was a very entertaining performance! Every one of the performers had amazing singing voices, were very gifted and natural at humor, and showed such great personality on stage to fit whatever roles they happened to be playing. I also thought the pianist did a superb job! The material was mostly funny and was very applicable to current events as well as a few past events we'll never let the politicians forget (read: Clinton/Lewinsky). The humor, at times, was a little too focused on sexual issues for my tastes, but was still funny. I was very impressed with the final act and especially the actor's ability to switch letters in adjacent words without even one stumble. The show started on time and was about the right length in my opinion. I hope to see a future Capitol Steps.

The format hasn't changed and thank goodness. How this troupe of five can continue with their freshness and relevance year after year, whether in D.C. or Pensacola, is hard to comprehend. The traditional favorites of providing a comprehensive history (with appropriate props) of the news since the "Steps" were created 30 plus years ago in five (or so) minutes -and- the monologue transposing the first letters of the key words remains hilarious bits. . I would venture to say, the show could be presented once a month and they would have included the "late breaking" craziness coming from our nation's capital. Guess I'll have to settle for once a year.

I saw the Cap Steps many years ago in DC and they were fantastic and current up to the minute. This time, they did have current skits but also had some that I thought, were a little dated (they had a good bit about the govt shut down and Syria). Thought those skits could have been replaced with maybe the security situation @ the Olympics, especially since Putin is one of their characters.

Been following this group off and on since they started. They skewer both sides of the aisle with right-on humor. However, it is their ability to put their satire into broadway show songs complete with dancing is totally unique. They did Grease (Greece) and the Phantom of The Opera (The Loonies on the Right) which were hysterical.

In the midst of this depressing political season it was such a relief to laugh until I cried! I have seen this group twice in Iowa and twice at their home base in Washington, DC. Begun in the 80s with Capitol Hill employees of both political parties, these people are funny and have amazing singing voices as well. The more informed and knowledgeable about American history one is, the funnier they are. I was very surprised that it was not a packed house, particularly due to the present political climate.

I have seen them before in a more intimate setting which I think suits them better. I didn't feel the humor was all that clever or cutting edge. It seemed stale and many of the impersonations were less than convincing. Maybe they were tired that night or the political scene is just moving too quickly in the days of social media.

Aside from the sound system being poor and seats terribly cramped for anyone over 5' 6" tall, perhaps this show just pales in comparison to the real comedy that's coming out of the real people in public office these days. We actually left at intermission, as staying for what amounted to a middle school parody wasn't worth staying for.

The singing was pretty good - and the numbers were from hysterical to ho-hum. Some songs seemed a bit dated, and having just an upright piano for accompaniment, an amateur-looking banner for a set, and mics with cords all made me feel a little like I was in a time warp. But I got some good laughs.

I am an avid NPR fan and have heard bits of Capitol Steps on the air several times. The concept is excellent. The scripts were entertaining but the delivery was sometimes lacking. It was often difficult to discern the words expressed in the songs which is key to enjoying the entire show. Improved annunciation and maybe better acoustics would help. I had to work too hard to hear the dialogue to really enjoy the show. That said, my favorite actress potrayed Kim Jung Il and all of her characters woderfully and with a great singing voice.

I had seen the Capitol Steps in DC twice. The road show was definitely not as good. However, it was funny and provided a number of good laughs. The Peabody website had said to mention to the parking lot attendants that we were attending an event there and should be given a discount rate. The attendant just looked at me blankly and stated the charge was $5 (the price shown on the sign). Another problem was that other people were seated in two of the four seats I had purchased.

We decided to attend after friends and colleagues assured us that the humor and its targets were bipartisan. This was unfortunately inaccurate in terms of both quantity and quality. There were more attacks on conservative figures and ideas than on liberal ones. Of more importance, the caricatures of conservative figures were overdone, inaccurate, mean spirited and not funny; those of liberal figures were "softballs." Less vituperative, more balance. Ad hominem attacks on Republicans could be replaced with ones like the foible driven caricatures of Democrats. On the positive side, there was more creativity and talent quality (singing), than we expected. Skits most enjoyed: American Pie/China song, North Korea, Clintons and Obama; Don't Ask/Don't Tell

I love seeing the Capitol Steps- especially before an election. Very funny, on target and they constantly update the show ( there were even references to Hurricane Sandy!). I just do not like the Keswick as a venue - too big and so few bathrooms it is pathetic.
