Been a fan for many years and have been to many shows. This was a great show and they rocked out. I definitely think more people should have been there to be blown away. Only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 was it wasn't long enough :-(

This was our first time to Penn's Peak, so we didn't know what to expect. We were very surprised at what an awesome venue this is! We were concerned about the general admission, but I don't think it's even possible to get a bad seat (or standing spot) there. This was our second time seeing Molly Hatchet (saw them at Gettysburg Bike Week 2 years ago). They did not disappoint! Both times we saw them, they had a meet and greet with the fans, as well. Bobby Ingram has so much energy and talent on guitar (considering he just turned 27 - LOL)! Shawn Beamer does this amazing one-handed drum solo, and his hair blowing, well.... Tim Lindsey on bass is the hottest! John Galvin tickles the keyboard. Phil McCormack was great on vocals, and he always acknowledges our troops. I missed Dave Hlubek, he was sick and didn't make the show. I last saw Blackfoot in 1979, so it was a real treat to see them again! Greg T. Walker on bass was amazing, to say the least! Mike Estes sounded as good as ever on vocals. Kurt Pietro kept the beat going, and Charlie "Shorty" Hargrett appeared to having the time of his life! These guys are going to Europe soon, so I'm glad I got to see them here!

What a tremendous surprise. First I see some chick from American Idol who truly was great...then...Molly Hatchet finally gets on stage...and these guys rock it out. Tremendous lead guitar...great vocals...tremendous drums...and a surprise ending with Freebird performed and I just really do appreciate the quality of entertainment compared to what you have to pay for some shows these days. The venue...disorganized...smokey..full of drunk obnoxious people falling all over each other...poorly organized seating at the front tables. Truly a very negative situation that didn't have to be this way. When will Indiana catch up to the real world and make smoking an outdoor sport. Additionally...the amps were over-driven and my ears are still ringing. There ought to be safety standards for the quality of sound.

Blackfoot ROCKED! Molly Hatchet didn't. I felt kinda bad for Phil McCormick and Bobby Ingram in that they're HUGE (and I don't mean in a buff kind of way). On a positive note, Blackfoot kicked major hind parts - great, awesome, stellar in every way. I wish their set would've been longer but one should be pleased with what one receives.

Blackfoot opened the night on time and sounded great. It was hard to believe Molly Hatchet could come out and put on a better show but they did. Hatchet sounded as great as ever from start to finish.

The band still sounds great and can still rock the house. The only thing we did not like was that they played Skynyrd's Free Bird. No one but Skynyrd should play that song.

Wow. Although my eardrums are still ringing, Molly Hatchet can still bring down the HOUSE! High energy, tight guitar work...drums and keyboard topnotch. I've watched these guys since 1979, off and on, but wasn't aware they still toured until I saw the announcement for Water Street in Rochester. The entire band, especially Phil, was approachable and down to earth and as an active military member, I love their passion for all things veteran. Again, we thought the show was a bit load for the venue, but Molly Hatchet rocks and I hope they continue to do so for years to come.

PENNS PEAK IS REALLY NICE WITH SEATING AND I REALLY LIKED THE GENERAL ADDMISSION SINCE U COULD STAND RIGHT UP AGAINST THE STAGE IN THE PIT!! MOLLY HATCHET WAS VERY GOOD!!!!! BLACKFOOT WAS VERY GOOD CHARLIE HARGRETT WAS GREAT ! BOBBY BARTH WAS VERY GOOD!IF I COULD CHANGE ANYTHING IT WOULD BE BLACKFOOTS SELECTION OF SONGS !INSTEAD OF 2 SONGS FROM GREG'T WALKER ONLY ONE OF HIS SONGS AND BOBBY WOULDN'T PLAY ONE OF HIS SONGS FROM HIS SOLO ALBUM! I WOULD REPLACE THEM WITH THE QUEENIE SONG AND I'M ON THE RUN!!!!!!!!!ALSO IF BOBBY WOULD SING WITH MORE HARMONY THEY WOULD HAVE BEEN GREAT!!!! ALSO I THOUGHT THAT BOBBY COULD HAVE SUNG WISHING WELL THE WAY JAY SINGS IT ON THEIR DVD! !!!HEY I LOVE BLACKFOOT AND GO TO AS MANY SHOWS AS I CAN! I HAVE BEEN TO 5 SHOWS THIS YEAR ! THE NEW DRUMMER FROM JAN. HAS REALLY LEARNED THE MUSIC AND WAS JUST GREAT!!! SORRY FOR BEING A LITTLE NEGITIVE ON THE SHOW BUT I REALLY THOUGHT THEY WERE VERY GOOD!!!!!! All though they are getting up there in age these guys still remember what it was that made them famous! Great music and the ability to throwdown on stage. A few of the songs in the middle of the performance were a little lackluster... But come on they are old and overweight! They were just saving themselves to shred your face of during a cover of the southern heavyweights Lynyrd Skynyrd's Free Bird! With a closing song like Flirtin with disaster how could you not be stoked by the time you leave. My only wish was that they would have played all of Fall of the Peacemakers. But I meet them after the show and they were more then happy to see a young guy enjoying the show and they signed the setlist for me. Great dudes and awesome music!

Event: Rocktoberfest feat. Molly Hatchet, Outlaws and Black Oak Arkansas. Black Oak Arkansas: Not very impressive at all; female band member seemed out of place with the show and distracting. Outlaws: Should have been the headliner! Show was tight and Henry Paul was GREAT! So too, Chris Anderson and Monte Yoho. Steve Grisham, Dave Robbins and Randy Threet were outstanding in their own right. The whole band put on a great performance from begining to end. Wish I could have heard them play longer!!! In fact, would have been happy seeing them as the only band playing the show. Molly Hatchet: A major disappointment. Sounded more like a cover band than the real thing! Phil McCormack did, however, give a stirring tribute to our current and past service members and for that gets my accolades here!

Now I have seen this band quite a few times in the past, but to pass yourself off as Molly Hatchet is a joke...#1) only one guitar player #2) singer was trying to be someone he's not #3) sound was way way to loud to the point it was distortion.... very unimpressed to say the least. Now the band that opened for them "Black Oak Arkansas" was way better, Jim Dandy sounded like he hasn't missed a beat, vocal was right on...wished they played longer than we wouldn't have had to leave early during Molly "wanna be" Hatchet. To those that think your gonna enjoy the tunes of your youth with M H, don't waste you money...

In order of appearance...never heard of Black Oak Arkansas, but i have to say they were pretty darn good southern rockers! The Outlaws were spectacular...great songs, great jamming, lots of personality!! The crowd went crazy when they did their thing...would see them again in a heartbeat!!! After the Outlaws were done, many left...we did not realize it would be indicative of the final act, Molly Hatchet. They were stale, no great tunes and it seemed as if they pleaded with the crowd to cheer them. They may have been good once, but no more...

Well Black Oak Arkansas was OK and now that Molly Hatchet is down to 1 guitar from 3 power lead guitars (1979)... the Outlaws were the main act. Every note was perfect!

Outlaws were fantastic! Was great to see them again live. Brought back memories of Pinecrest and New Haven Coliseum. Taking in to consideration they were big back in the early 70s, Black Oak Arkansas gets a pass. Did not know if we were seeing jim dandy or Wolfman Jack. wish Outlaws closed out the show, Molly Hatchet seemed to be having an off night, or maybe they are truly now just a Hatchett cover band... The place started clearing out after 2 or 3 songs. maybe they were just too loud, blame the sound guy, Lead singer did he really want to be there... can he sing? Sorry to pick on them, I saw them back in the 80s back in the day! Over all I have to say I was happy to hear live Southern Rock. I would have liked to seen Outlaws, Artimus Pyle band and Black smoke cherry or Marshall Tucker?

It's been 33 years since I saw Molly Hatcher Live (1983) and yes, I miss some of the ol' birds but I'll tell ya, Their music and their musicianship has been, still is, and hopefully WILL BE for years to come, TOP-KNOTCH, and the way Rock 'N Roll SHOULD be!

I was not simply disappointed, but truly offended by this show. I was very excited to see Molly Hatchet. I have their first five records and love them all. Perhaps I should have done my homework on the current band lineup, but hindsight is 20/20. When the band took the stage I thought that they were another opener because I didn't recognize and of the players. After speaking with the couple next to me, I found out that there was nobody from those first five albums on the stage. The singer was terrible and the entire band was completely out of shape and performed like they were exhausted and lost. I think that it was wrong for this band to mislead the public and call themselves Molly Hatchet. Maybe if they called themselves the "New Molly Hatchet" of something, then fans could decide if they wanted to pay to see these guys or not. I feel that it was completely dishonest for them to call themselves Molly Hatchet when there was not a single member from the band that made any of the records that are known by the Molly Hatchtet fan base - that is: "Molly Hatchet (self-titled); "Flirtin' With Disaster"; "Beatin' the Odds"; Take No Prisoners"; and "No Guts, No Glory." Apparently someone purchased the band name and trademark and assembled a touring band of sub-par musicians and are touring ripping off fans worldwide. This band had ONE guitar player, not the triple guitar attack that Hatchet is known for. They also lacked the chops and stamina to cover the songs well. This is a bad Molly Hatchet cover band. I am angry and disappointed and asking myself how something like this could happen. Do not waste your money.

It was quite shocking to see that Molly hatchet has been reduced to, basically, a power trio, with excessively loud keyboard thrown in to mask the lack of guitar. Hard to imagine the classic Hatchet "wall of guitars" sound, attempting to be recreated by one thin sounding axe, but there it was. The classic tunes were covered, and the energy wasn't bad, but couldn't help feeling like the end may be near for this band, and feeling a little sad. Like they say, father time is undefeated...

I had great seats 3 rows from the stage and Molly Hatchet rocked the place!!! I was so glad that I went and the venue is very easy to find!!! The show was Superb played all their hits and did an encore with Flirtin' With Disaster!!! On top of the great show i got to meet them and get there autographs after the show at no additional cost!!!!! I had a really great time and whoever goes to that venue will like it too! They dedicated the Edge of Sundown and Fall of the Peacemakers to the servicemen overseas which was a great touch!!! HATCHET RULES!!!!! Long live MOLLY HATCHET!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have never seen either band before. Pat Travers opened up without any fanfare and without too many fans. It was almost surreal as I had been at the same venue two weeks before to see Kansas and the place was packed. After Travers set Molly Hatchet took the stage and unfortunately the sound mix wasn't too good. The guitar player kept going off stage, Sorry to see so few people there but I was able to move closer to the end of the balcony. Had a couple of people who were drinking beer decide to scream out who-who every minute or so. Totally uncalled for. I was trying to listen to the music and not these two fools. I guess you take the good with the bad. A so-so concert overall.

Not happy...Blackfoot started a few minutes after 8...which was late. Followed by Jimmie Van Zant, they were much better. Then came Hatchet...open with Whiskey Man, & first 30 seconds in , NO VOCALS ! It seemed there were WAY to many jam sessions , cut back & play more songs IMO. Also vocals seemed drowned out by guitars most of the night. overall...just so-so

Not happy, way to many solo rants by Hatchet. Started after 8 with Blackfoot & Hatchet finished around 1140. First 30 seconds in...Whiskey Man vocals were missing. aAll thru the concert the vocals seemed "drowned out " from guitars. Just so - so

Let me first say, thank GOD Blackfoot and VanZant were a part of this show!! They were the show!! VanZant was amazing and we could have listened to him all night, Blackfoot was only on for a short time but they were good as well....Molly Hatchet's band was excellent but the lead singer left the stage several times (for Lord knows what)!! You couldn't understand a word he sang...my whole group agreed that he acted as though he was under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

It started off with the concert being moved from Saturday to the next Friday. Then it was delayed and hour. When we came back it ended up being delayed ANOTHER hour.. That wasn't even the bad news. They informed us that Blackfoot their opener wasn't going to show. They had a nobody band and some lame comedian try to entertain us until 10:30 When Molly Hatchet finally played. When they came out they were pretty good it just was a lot later than expected and no where to sit the whole time especially after waiting around all that time. Very Dissapointed.

Molley Hatchet was a major part of Southern Rock in the 70's and 80's. In 2011 they are proving to the world they still know how to record new music and play a live show. They have not lost the sound that launched them into the national spotlight so many years ago. Yes, they are older, but thay have not lost there roots in classic Southern Rock. They put on an amazing performance. Dave Hlubek is a beast of the guitar. He is still on the top of his game and proving it live out on the stage. If you have not seen Moley Hatchet and always wanted to but you have been wondering, "Are they still any good?" I suggest the answer is HELL YEAH! Now if you are only familiar with their biggest hit Flirtin with Disaster and thought, "Should I spend $20 to hear one song?" HELL YEAH you should. If you are just vague familiar with the band one show will change you forever. The talent of this band will grab your attention and make you a true believer. Molley Hatchet proudly continues the tradition of hard classic rock with a Southern twist and a sound that is uniquely their own, This will be the best $20 you spend on a live performance. Once you have had the experience, when your friends ask have you seen Molley Hatchet, you can proudly respond, HELL YEAH and I going see any time I get a chance!
