George Jones was and will forever be the voice of country music. There will never be anyone close to him and seeing all of the artists come out to pay tribute to him was such a great thing. It was an amazing thing to see that many artists in one venue at the same time and all there to pay tribute to the greatest legend country music ever had.

Awesome!! The Conway Twitty musical before George was amazing. George was great and when Jamey Johnson came out, I thought the roof was coming down!

The warm up act was better than the main event! Conway Twitty the Musical, even the shortened version was unbelievable! Every single performance was great from the start. Amber Hayes will be a star someday. Conway came to life on stage. George had some good moments but unfortunately showed his age. He has had a wonderful career. Still talented. Band was good as always.. Would go see him again.

the george jones show was very disappointing. the crowd was very large ,but I think they remembered a different george jones than the one we saw in concert. I realize he is a great country star, but we could not hear him. the backup group was great, but george was not audible to us. I realize he is getting older, but his audio was lousy.

It breaks my heart to say it, but this was quite possibly the worst show I've ever attended. An embarrassingly bad and terribly long opening act (the Conway Twitty Musical) followed by a half-hour wait for . . . MORE filler, in the form of three more opening acts. When George came out, though, it became clear what all this stalling was for; at least on this night, he simply couldn't sing. Couldn't carry a tune, couldn't remember the words. A sad, sad spectacle from a true legend.

A country legend, and Ryman Auditorium, what could be better? George is aging, and may soon need to change one song title to "I do need your rocking chair", but he can still put on a show. Neat experience!

The sound system was way off early in the concert and did not reveal George's voice until the last few numbers. Add to that the disgusting use of cell phone texting by the four people in front of us and you have a real waste of our money and our time. It is hard to concentrate on a concert when you are being flashed by four cell phones constantly texting in the row in front of you.

To those who have had the opportunity to see and hear the Possum live, there is no need to explain why folks will come from afar to enjoy the heartfelt delivery of his songs. For those who haven't seen or heard him live on stage, there is no explanation that will do justice to his warm, softspoken but powerful song delivery. Thanks George and thank you American Bank Center for a memorable Father's day gift!

I bought tickets and almost returned them when he passed away because I wanted to see him. However, the more I thought about it, I decided to hold onto my tickets to see what would come from it (cancel/still on). I am soooo glad I kept them. To be in the presence of all those wonderful artists (new and aged) singing team GJ songs. I was a part of history in the making and will forever hold those memories. On a more emotional part of the experience...I had chosen a very dear and great friend to come with me. Her daughter had been battling cancer since mid-summer. She had not been doing well the couple weeks before the concert and Monday of that week she was placed in hospice. Sherry was also a very very big GJ fan and had told her mom to make sure she went to the concert. But my friend was struggling because she didn't want to be gone and her daughter die. We prayed and asked for guidence in the situation. Sherry died Thursday night about 7pm (24hours before the concert). My friend and her husband said that going and taking Sherry's memory with us would be the best tribute of her along with GJ. It was emotional and moving. As much as I hated that Sherry had died, I was glad she was able to go with us.

I am not sure anyone was ready for what took place on 2013's November 22. Over 100 musicians came together to honor Country Music's Superstar George Jones. They lined up and as fast quickly as one competed their Geoerge Jones song, the next took their place. It was a great celebration of the life of George JOnes.

Great part of show: Garth & Tricia, Vince Gill, George Strait, Alan Jackson, Brad Paisley, Travis Tritt, Larry Gatlin, Jessie & Shooter, Sam Moore, Tracy Lawrence, Blake & Miranda, Melba Montgomery? (if she was in with group of female singers, Introduction of those was not appropriately given). Many other great singers. One of best was some girl never heard of. Not good: Jon Voight and his going on and on re Randy Travis. The Senator, The group performers were not introduced well. The men were weak but Gatlin took over bit a bit loud. Emmy Lou should have done a solo. Would have liked more stories of George from singers, like Vince and Brad did, short & sweet comment. The jumbo monitors were terrible. Sound could have been louder.

Hard to say what was coolest. Charlie Daniels was very high energy and I doubt he had any hairs left on his bow afterward. Montgomery Gentry was also impressive and I have to say, Brad Paisley, can seriously play that guitar. Mike Huckabee was an excellent emcee (even if he is a Republican). My husband's favorite group was Megadeath. I heard some complain about them but I thought it was pretty cool that George could be admired by musicians from other genres ("The more you love music, the more music you love.")

Bringing the best of country together performing the many songs of George Jones created an unbelievable evening. For the performers to put their love for George above their own egos is in itself quite an accomplishment. Every performer was stupendous--those whom I really enjoyed were (in no particular order except my memory) Sam Moore, Garth and Trisha, Vince, Stonewall Jackson, Larry Gatlin, Eric Church, Charlie Daniels, George and Martina, Lorrie Morgan, and Blake and Miranda capped off with Alan Jackson. To have Ralph Emery emcee a portion of the evening was a delight. (The Jones Boys were in strong support of every performer.) Singing directly to Nancy Jones was so moving. Nancy is such a wonderful person to push for such an evening shared with George's many fans. Thanks to all performers and Nancy Jones for a wonderful evening.

Ill be the first to admit, im probably the biggest George Jones fan around. Ive seen him over 40 times thru the years since the late 1980's. Although he has battled health issues this year,he still walked out on that stage and put on one hell of a show. His backup band is one of the best ive seen,The fiddle player is awesome. and Brittney Allen singing backup is great. The total show ran ill say about hour 15 min. Georges band did 3 songs and then was time for the legend to take the stage. he was onstage for bout hour. Doing some of the greatest songs in country music history. He gave us 100 %. And the crowd was great, singing along it seemed with every song. Although some people ive noticed posting reviews lately have really not been to kind to George, keep in mind, we all dont sound like we did 30 to 40 years ago. His voice will go down in history as one of the best. Next year, George will be touring for the last time. '' The Grand Tour'' for 2013 is billed his farewell tour. If George is in your area, dont miss him..Hes worth every penny. He Trully is Country Musics '' LAST GREAT COUNTRY SINGER''

The first thing to remember is that the Possum is nearly 81 years old. Most of the concert he did well, but he did struggle to find words on a couple of songs. Too bad, he was such a good talent. But his "He Stopped Loving Her Today" still brought tears to my eyes. I saw him two years ago and he was much better. His days as a touring singer are unfortunately numbered. His band, the Jones Boys (with a 25-year-old fiddler named Billy Contreras) was terrific. His female vocalist, Brittany Allyn) was also a standout and did a couple of solos and one with George.

We did not stay the entire concert due to the weather conditions..but..we enjoyed seeing George Jones for the time we were there. It was my first time ever seeing him. It was windy, raining and cold. We were by an opening in the tent. The staff would not close the flaps. We tried to go stand on the side away from the opening and were told twice we had to go back to our seats. This may have been my first George Jones concert but it definitely won't be the last. To see him rockin' the stage to a sold out house at the "young" age of 79 years old was nothing short of AWESOME! He was on stage for close to 2 hours singing many of his hits plus several others. He was also quite comical at times.....like when he was talking about some of his fast songs he said, "The older I get, the faster these songs seem to go!" However, when he sang the first few words of "He Stopped Loving Her Today" the crowd immediately stood to their feet in applause. I can only hope when I'm 79 years old to be half as full of life as George Jones is now. He's a LIVING LEGEND and has earned the right to be recognized as such. Not calling any names but Nashville, I'm talking to YOU.

This was THEE best country music concert that I have been to in MANY years. I've attended 20 plus shows this year. Toby, Keith, Trace, Brad... AC/DC and more. But I have NOT felt the electricity of a True Legend walking onto the stage. George had me and my date awestruck!!!!! The band was personable during and after the show. I work for a classic rock station, so I've met many performers. I was privileged to meet the bass player who then introduced me to Mrs. George Jones. Concert shirts were only $10 and $25 dollars. Be sure to purchase the Live CD!!! I did and the quality is top-notch. The band and crew make you feel like family. I highly recommend attending a show. I purchased tickets online the moment they went on sale, and was fortunate enough to obtain PITT seats! 20 feet away from George!!!!!! WOW! GO SEE GEORGE!

It was an honor to see a true Country Legend for the first time! George Jones put on a very good performance for a 78 year old man. I don't think he will be able to perform too much longer.....I'm not sure if he was sick or if he is just worn out, but it seemed like it took everything he had to hit some of those notes, but he sang his heart out! . I have always been and always will be a big fan! Who is gonna fill his shoes????

A fantastic show, one of the fastest 90 minutes or so of music ever experienced. It was fast paced and the nearly totally full house provided feedback to the artists performing to encourage them to provide an even better show. I have seen George perform from the early 70s many times, both locally and in Nashville and this was one of the best ever. My only problem with the show is the Ferguson Center policy of prohibiting photographs. The main reason I dont attend more shows there. The submitted photo is from my archives from a show in Nashville I took in 2003

there comes a time for everyone to hang their hat up and call it quits. George Jones may be a legend but im sorry he just doesnt have it anymore. His voice was staggered, raspy, even downright absent at times. A few times he literally told the crowd "i cant sing that". He had to take water breaks every couple minutes, kept talking to some tech guy about his earpiece, and just basic complaints youd expect your grandfather to start fussing about in his old age. i love George and have seen him in concert before but i think its a final curtain call for the Possum's tour career and even singing career. Hate to say it, but George, you need a rocking chair.

The artists were simply amazing. Their performances were so inspiring; it was like we knew George was there with us in spirit. Eric Church's rendition of "Choices" was a perfect choice, and he is one of my favorite artists. Sam Moore though, he literally moved me to tears with his "Blues Man." He was truly amazing, and we are all lucky to have been able to witness that performance. All of those great artists were simply amazing. It was wonderful to see artists it hadn't heard since I was a little girl singing to the radio with my mother. George will be remembered an was memorialized well that night.

My wife and I had mixed feelings when we found out the show's name. George spent many years trying to live down his old reputation and In our opinion he more than paid his dues for his errors. However, the title grew on us and by the time of the show we figured that George himself might have even liked it. We have been serious fans of George since 2007 when we first started going to his concerts. We saw about 20 of his shows over the last six years. And we were fortunate enough to actually be at the concert in Knoxville. We are not wealthy and could not travel as often as we would have liked or we might have seen more. But we got to know George a little. We spoke with him a couple of times, once at a show (backstage) and once at a fan club party in Franklin, Tennessee. We have also spoken on several occasions with his wife Nancy. Both Nancy and George were very friendly and gracious. The Tribute Show was awesome and we enjoyed the performances. We were especially impressed by the performance of Wild Irish Rose by Megadeth. While we are not fans of Megadeth, we were actually pleased with their rendition of George's song. I think even George himself would have been impressed. As exciting as the tribute show was, however, we would have rather seen George himself. He will be missed by just about everyone I know and certainly by anyone who actually knew George personally. He was a great man and we take comfort in knowing that he is with God and the Angels tonight.

Country music artists came together wonderfully to pay tribute to America's best country artist and performer ever..George Jones..His music was beautifully interpreted by a variety of artists and the show went quickly considering there was over 100 performers. My only complaint was that memoriablia was overpriced and some of it was dated 2012!!

My husband and I have been George Jones fans for many, many years and the tribute concert was a testimonial to how much he was loved by so many people. One of the best parts of the entire show was the fact that a different song was sung by each artist, nothing was repeated. The concert was very organized and the MC's also did a great job with the introductions.

Music was great. MCs were just okay - especially the lady from Fox who "was the last person to interview George Jones" Saying it once was enough - 6-8 times was overkill.
