WCHA Final Five Tournament

Loved it! It was an intense game, with my team coming back for the big win!

Was alot of fun getting to watch some great college hockey. I can't wait to go again! WCHA Final Five is great college hockey at a great price.

We are so fortunate to have a first class event like the WCHA Final Five come to West Michigan. First Class Venue with a First Class Event.

Fun atmosphere, loved the MC (who looks like Ryan Seacrest) and laughed so hard when he interviewed the little kid during intermission.

It was so fun, as always! The fans make hockey great!!!

Great Venue, Great Fans and Great Hockey! Good location to the local downtown and entertainment scene, before and after the games!

What a great crowd and what a great atmosphere. Very little booing and negative cheers. Who needs the Big Ten whiners, The WCHA has great hockey without them. I will return year after year.

The games we attended were awesome. What a fun couple of days. The talent of the young men playing is beyond believe. We went with my husband and son who is attending school in Bloomington.

The final Five tourney hosted by the Excel was awesome. The is not a bad seat in the house. The club section is my favorite. The Excel puts on a great show. But what else to you expect from the State of Hockey!

Fantastic venue and setting. Hockey was great and will be back next year.

I would recommend this event for anyone who enjoys watching great college hockey! I have been going to this event for five years now and I think my favorite part is how people will show up and cheer even when their own team isn't playing; you can strike up a conversation with a stranger and it's like you've been best friends for life because you both love hockey; and finally it brings rivals together for one last game of the season.

The games were great and the fans were great. The venue is perfect for this tournament.

It was a great tourney except that the X failed to realize that Thursday two games were on one ticket and people were not supposed to leave and re-enter thus it would have been nice to have more food prepared. Outside of section 103 the vendors seemed shocked that there was such a big rush after the first game! Really? What did you think?

Great College Hockey. You can not beat it when you get two games with Overtime, including the Championship game.

I've attended the Wcha final five two years in a row now. The atmosphere is just incredible. This one went into double OT!

excellent college hockey game. penalty shot goal to win the game for ferris 2-1 over minnesota state. Action all game up and down the ice. Venue seats were ok. Closer to the ice in less traffic area would have been better

Great matchup during the WCHA Final Five Tournament Semifinals, where the Ferris State Bulldogs won in a hard-fought victory.

Friendly staff. Entertainment between periods. Need to have WCHA reps tell the Michigan Tech band to have some respect and not play instruments the entire game. Distracted greatly from the enjoyment of the game.

Some really great hockey games and they were lots of fun to watch. It would be great if the WCHA Tournament was held at the Xcel every year.

Excel center is an awesome arena to view hockey whether it's the wild or college hockey. Definitely a bucket list item

First, the teams that were suppose to win did!!! Congrats to them. Second, this must be the new math -- because it used to be 5 teams, 5 games -- hence Final Five. This idea of 4 teams 3 games is a slap to the history of the event. I won't even mention the poor attendance. Will I be going next year that it is at the XCEL..............probably not.

Great hockey weekend for the State of Hockey! Hotel shuttle was great. People sitting around us were great. Liked that the championship game was a little earlier.

I enjoyed the event very much. I would definitely attend this event in the future. The outcome was not what I hoped for, but I enjoyed the event overall.

Watching a hockey game at the Van Andel Arena should be a great experience. The games were great and I will definitely go again to the WCHA tourney in 2 years. I bought my tickets early and let ticket master pick the best available seats. Paid the premium price and got tickets right behind the bench row C. When the players stood up I couldn't see the Ice. The glass was dirty and scuffed up and it's not fun to look through. I really think Van Andel Arena should take those seats out.

My boys and I enjoyed all 3 games, a great time watching hockey. All of the games way undersold. I have no idea why they sold the upper level when for each game I would be surprised if half of the lower level was full. I thought the ticket prices were okay if you bought the upper level package, for the lower level, way overpriced, just too much money.

It is nice to know that the last WCHA Broadmoor Trophy belongs to Wisconsin. With all of the other hockey fans in attendance, mostly cheering against UW, they witnessed an excellent game between two strong teams.

This was the worst we have ever seen the Gophers play in over 30 years - what a huge disappointment and waste of our time and money. So excited for the game and a big bummer!

The FF was great but now with the new leagues forming it will not be the same. This might be a great event in the future and I might catch a game or two but it will not be the same. My alliance will be with the new NCHC!

The WCHA championship game between Wisconsin & Colorado College was very entertaining. The Excel Energy Center and surrounding bars and restaurant's is a great destination for hockey fan's.

We had a great time and had nice seats in club level. our usher Howie was amazing and did an awesome job.

Tourney was great! Wish there was a little more room in concourse and hockey lodge.

Great hockey, loved every game. Can't recommend an event that will never be seen again. So sad. Been going for many years, enjoyed ND, Minn, & Wisconsin compete. Unfortunately the Big 10 tourney will be fewer teams (4), fewer games (4), and chance to not have a "local" team in the event. Going will be last minute decision. With all my favorite teams leaving the WCHA, it will never be the same.

Great College Tournament in St Paul. Good College Fans and Teams!

I bought a five game session pass and was only able to attend one game. I was bullied by a fan that made me uncomfortable to return for the other games. I realize I could have changed seats but this person was so rude and confrontational that I decided not return. So glad I wasted a lot of money.

The WCHA tournament is incredible! The Xcel Center is the perfect place for this event.

When I bought the tickets it said end of ice that home team shot at twice. That was wrong and I would have looked for other tickets. Get this right

As always, there is truly no other college hockey conference tournament or championship so well attended and enjoyed by all fans at such an excellent facility as the WCHA FInal 5. Why someone's donation to Penn State had to ruin such a fun event in the future is beyond me but it certainly provides insight into all that is wrong with the NCAA and college sports. It's ALL about the almighty dollar with little regard for the fan experience....the people by the way who ACTUALLY SUPPORT the sport itself. Full credit to the WCHA and the Xcel Energy Center! It's been a wonderful event, with mostly passionate and knowledgeable fans who are respectful but entertaining as well. As a Rodent Nation fan, I'll be at the WCHA next year as well...Big Ten Hockey is laughable as a conference! 8)

Sorry to see the Big Ten get greedy and form their own conference. All the hockey fans will lose in the end. The Xcel is a great venue but here are few suggestions: 1) get an organ player 2) make the food and drinks affordable. Gripe....I can get a better beer and pizza outside the X for half the cost. 3) and if one want to see real hockey...put in an olympic size sheet!

Everything was good except it was very cold! Had to sit with coat and gloves on. When sitting for several hours at a time watching hockey it was pretty miserable. Most of the people on our section were feeling the same way. We were in Section 203.

This is the best hockey tournament the midwest has to offer! Not to mention it's played in one of the best arenas in the nation. Absolutely one of the best times of the year for hockey fans, five games in three days of the best college teams in the midwest. Downtown St. Paul has a lot to offer, I suggest alarys bar on 7th street and jackson. Great memories I'll never forget!

It was the most spectacular weekend of hockey we have ever seen in our lives!

Generally, the WCHA Championship is a great event. We go most every year. However, this year's Championship (2012) was the worst collegiate hockey we've ever seen. Both Denver and the Sioux looked spent.They played like they didn't even want to be there! Maybe the Semi's took everything out of them and they had nothing left for the Championship Game. It was a pathetic display. We left at the end of the 2nd Period! Ugh!!!!!

The WCHA Final Five Tournament is always a lot of fun!!! The SIOUX had an AWESOME weekend and it was a great hockey game!!

The game was amazing - The staff was great - The facilities - bathrooms were a little bad and the price of beer was a little stiff. I would have consumed a few more at $7 than I did at $9 - in the end they would have gotten more money.

I was hoping one of the Mn teams would have made it to the final. Denver had nothing else in their tank, so they seemed outmatched by the Sioux. St Paul was crazy that night. Let's see how the Sioux does in the Western Regional Tourney this coming week-end against rested and non injured teams.

Heading into the tournament... I would have been happy to see St Cloud, UMD, or UMN... they all lost, so I was rewarded with a boring game between two teams I could have cared less about. Its the risk I took by buying seats in advance... oh well. The food was terrible. I guess Target Field has spoiled me with the idea that paying $10+ for food at a stadium can actually be worth it.

The Xcel Energy Center was again a GREAT venue to host the Final Five. The staff and vendors are the friendliest around! Just need the Gophers to win next time around!

The game should have ended with the best team winning. Seats were not as advertised. Home team was at a different end.

These guys play with such heart...nothing more fun to watch. The surprises are always fun, but The Bulldogs should have left St Paul with the Broadmoor!

Anyone that attends college hockey will attest to the quality of the game. Players seem to play with more passion and motivation than the pros. Although the skill level may not be as refined as professional teams the overall atmosphere on the ice is nothing short of fantastic and the fans are the most friendly and dedicated folks in all of sports. Especially noteworthy are the UND supporters. Through the first three goals by the Gophers the UND fans withstood our most rigorous joking. By the end of the game their chants of celebration echoed throughout the XCel. Congrats to the Sioux. The only reason I did not give this a 5 star rating is the venue. The XCel IS a great place to see hockey, we attend many Wild games there. During the WCHA tournament the replays on the big screen were sporadic at best. Also the staff didn't seem to be prepared as well as they a re for Wild games. Concessions were quite slow Thursday and policing tickets to ensure people were in their respective areas was virtually nonexistent.

Sioux vs. Gophers is always a great game. Tons of action and the fans are the best on both sides.

WCHA and Xcel have done it again...what a great tourney. Atmosphere is great, games were excellent. Best hockey in the country.

Everything about event was first class venue fans and great hockey. Met great people from Bemidji,Duluth,Colorado, and around the region.

The WCHA Final Five is amazing for college hockey fans. The championship game was a fabulous hockey game between two great rival schools (Denver University and University of North Dakota). Fortunately, UND won which made it that much greater!

The Final Five will now become an annual event! The games were awesome and we couldn't be more proud of the Fighting Sioux from North Dakota. Our tickets were waiting at Will Call as promised and you can't beat the Twin Cities in the Spring! Can't wait for the Frozen Four in April. Go Sioux! Denver you have a great team...we'll see you in Green Bay!

Venue, atmosphere and excitement make for college hockey at its best.

If you re a college hockey fan this is as good as it gets. Xcel center is great place for hockey and their staff do an excellent job providing a fun atmosphere for all. Thanks Xcel for another great year.

The Hockey Game was very entertaining and exciting. The only thing that was bad were the referrees not being consistent with the penalties.
