We thoroughly enjoyed Audra McDonald at Cobb Energy Center. Our seats up front and the pre-show reception and the meet and greet afterwards made for a thrilling experience. The Arts Bridge folks did a fine job with their hospitality.

In concert at the Gaillard Auditorium in Charleston, SC, Audra McDonald was radiant in every way possible! During this 90-minute show with no intermission, she was charming and funny in between songs from stage, screen, and The Great American Songbook. My husband thoroughly enjoyed the performance, and he only attended because I asked him to. I'd buy 2 more tickets in a skinny minute!

I was disappointed that she did not sing more of Porgy and Bess-I also did not like the fact that she used a microphone-with that range she doesn't need it-the audio system was flawed-in the mezzanine her comments were almost inaudible.

Audra was divine! She's always been a picture of grace and elegance - this concert was no exception. Her talent flew off the stage, her timing and humor were moving - - what do you say about a lady who seemed to open up and show us her inner beauty along with all of the package we wanted to see, including showcasing new works, embracing humanity, and exquisite taste.

For 90 minutes, Ms. McDonald took control of the stage and dominated. Her voice is pure and beautiful, the stories she told were all enjoyable. Ms. McDonald is as beautiful as her voice and she is wonderfully personable. Not only a strong advocate for Marriage Equality, Audra is the definition of a true Broadway star.

I expected a mighty voice from a 4-time Tony Award-winning performer. What I got was an exciting & deeply enriching experience with the hilarious, moving, insightful, powerful & generous talents of Audra McDonald. Had she performed a second night I would have seen her again. One of my all-time fave concerts!

Jason Alexander introduced her as "the finest voice in theater today." I have seen Audra McDonald in concert several times, and she never ceases to amaze me. While she is a beautiful singer, it is her dramatic interpretation of songs that makes her unbelievable.

Returning to the concert stage to raise money for "Reprise!", Audra McDonald performed before an enthusiastic sold out audience at the Freud Playhouse last night. Currently starring on the ABC show, "Private Practice" McDonald has been sadly missed from the concert scene for the last three years. In an evening of songs she billed as some of her favorites, many of which she has performed frequently, she proved yet again that she is one of the most consummate vocalists of her generation. Accompanied by longtime Musical director, accompanist and friend, the incomparable Ted Sperling, she breathed new life into songs she has performed numerous times. She brought a new introspection to the lyrics and a new simplicity to her vocal technique that ultimately achieved more with less. Sadly, a lesson that many vocalists completely ignore nowadays who seem to think singing is about big sound with little meaning and thought behind it. Always a champion of new songwriters, Audra welcomed composer Gabriel Kahane to the stage to accompany her for a new song that he had written and which she is planning to record for her new long overdue album, "Flight".

I ve watched Ms McDonald on several tv shows but did not have the opportunity to see her performance on stage. At the time in March when she was first expected I had another engagement so I m glad it was postponed as I had a real treat. She is awesome, amazing, unforgettable and very personable. I texted my family immediately in the NY area to check her out if she hasn t done a performance yet. Wishful thinking.

What can one say about Audra McDonald? After seeing, crying, cheering and wildly applauding her recent concert performance at the Broward Center for the Performing Arts, one wonders how much talent a single person can retain. Her selection of songs, her intimate patter with the audience and the general highest level of talent all came through in a non-stop, almost two hour concert. She had her audience laughing, crying, and cheering after each of her numbers, and her talent exuded in every moment. From jazz to blues to Broadway to Porgy and Bess, her phrasing, her vocal strength and adaptability to each song was incredible. I had seen her last year in her "Lady Day" show in London, where we thought that nothing could top that reincarnation of Billie Holiday. Wrong!! This Florida concert shows this star at the pinnacle of her form, and let's hope she stays there for many more years and concerts!

Someone yelled out Audra is a national treasure. It is so true. Her melodic voice soothes the soul and enriches the spirit. She is fantastic. Sadly, NJPAC was not at the same level. I've seen Audra McDonald perform before so I was expecting it to be wonderful. The reality is this performance blew me away- and the sentiment was echoed by my friends and family who I brought to the concert with me. Audra hits all the right notes, stellar repertoire, exquisite voice. She tells a story that is so much more than just the lyrics and the notes. And I love hearing all the tidbits about the composers, and her personal stories of her family. She makes audience members feel like we are part of her inner circle of friends. She's "REAL!." We were fortunate to have excellent seats- center rear orchestra with perfect sight line and acoustics. The band was outstanding as well. Truly a wonderful afternoon capped off by a nice relaxing meal at Niccos afterwards.

We caught Audra in concert some 4-5 years ago and she certainly made wonderful music. Her Lady Day performance was also amazing. But something happened in the meantime, some combination, I surmise, of a happy second marriage, a young child, her energy and values, and the reality of hatred of all kinds becoming more common and more acceptable in our society. She was absolutely inspiring and inspired this past Saturday, easily providing me with one of my top five music experiences ever. She was incredible. All songs picked made a statement, as "You've Got to Be Carefully Taught" intermixed with some relevant Sondheim lyrics. And she shared a lot of unknown songs that were loaded with meaning and tear-jerking lyrics. She herself teared up after a song about 9-11 (we were 2nd row center and could see the tears running down!). Then at the end -- with a deep and awesomely strong mezzo voice that you seldom hear from her -- she belted out Climb Every Mountain like she was talking to all struggling immigrants and minorities and all of us overwhelmed with the racism and binary-thinking prejudice that is rampant.. As one audience member shouted after one song: Audra, you rock!!!

Audra's voice is amazing, her song choice perfect, and she has a great rapport with her audience. Just a pleasure to see and hear. In terms of the venue, I had not been to the NJPAC in many years, and forgot what a great place it is. The venue is clean and inviting, the seats are comfortable and not crammed, and all employees were extremely helpful. On top of it, parking right across the street in NJPAC Lot C (you can reserve in advance) was super convenient and their event pricing was $20!!! Cant beat that.

Audra McDonald does more than just deliver. There's a reason she owns a record six Tony Awards. She defines the American musical theater art form. Audra is dead-on pitch perfect. And makes it look easy while doing it. So much so that she puts the audience at complete ease. That she offers the audience specific opportunities to sing along with her is beyond engaging. It shows how much she cares to make sure everyone fully enjoys themselves. At 47, Audra is a woman in full possession of her powers and identity. And yes, she is smoking hot too!

Ms. McDonald sang from the American theater songbook; many songs were from the early 20th century. All were delivered excellently. Her personality shined throughout. In each of her Broadway performances that I have seen, I felt that every gesture was spot-on. I felt the saw during this concert. She put so much significance in each motion (though she was standing at a poled microphone). She was witty and her voice is amazing. I have never seen her in concert before but would definitely try to do so again.

Audra McDonald has no equal in her vocal quality, in her nuanced attention to lyrics, in her musicality. This concert was an amazing display of what makes her peerless amongst singers of the American songbook--to which she continues to add new young composers, a testimony to her generosity. She gives older familiar songs new depth ("Make someone happy") and makes new songs seem almost like standards ("I'll be here"). The moment at the concert's end when she removed the microphone and sang "Summertime" showed her artistry and the subtle power of her voice.

This is my 3rd time seeing Audra McDonald perform. Audra McDonald is as personable as she is professional. I didn't know what to expect the 1st time that I saw her in 2011. Audra McDonald continues to be one of the most outstanding vocalists and song stylists in the U.S. Her song choices were a good sampling of songs she has recorded, and are also her favorites, The problem with the concert was that after every single song, she sat down to chat with the host of the evening and Ms. McDonald's accompanist, Seth Rudetsky. Each chat session lasted close to 10 minutes. Seth Rudetsky is self-absorbed and only cares about making himself look good. He talks extremely fast and is hard to understand. He also continually cut off Ms.McDonald when she tried to answer one of his questions in order to try to (unsuccessfully) make himself appear funny and charming. We paid a substantial amount of money to hear Audra McDonald sing, not to hear Seth Rudetsky talk nonsense for close to two hours. I don't believe Ms. McDonald sang more than eight or nine songs the entire evening. I understand that this format with Mr. Rudetsky is quite common at the Parker Playhouse in Fort Lauderdale. I would never purchase again a ticket for an event where he is the moderator. I would have given the concert a 5-star rating had Ms. McDonald been allowed to command the stage for the entire concert.

Unique set-up creates a unique experience. Her enthusiasm and engagement with the crowd produced a wonderful event. The inclusion of performances by her husband did not enhance the quality of the concert. But overall truly one of the best musical evenings for me and for my guests. Room is perfect: Nothing to impede sound or view, plenty of space between you and the row of seats in front of you, slope of floor means you are looking over the heads of the people in front of you

One takeaway - my wife and I both found her playlist below average. We were hoping to hear more Broadway songs that we fondly recalled. Felt like we heard what she fondly recalled. If you go, do so because of her voice, not because of the repertoire you'll hear, but "Climb Every Mountain" will blow you away at the end.

It was a great concert. There are a few things that would have made it "perfect" In my opinion. First, there should have been an intermission. Most people are used to an intermission when they go to the theater, plus most of the WONDERFUL songs she performed were not high tempo songs so it felt like the audience could have used a break to refresh. Second, while I agree with Audra's views on equality 100% , I think she should not stress or push the issue at her concerts. Mentioning it or even singing one song dedicated to it is fine BUT not make it akward for her audience. It felt akward and uneasy when she performed songs about Gay people. Again, I share her same views but it was obvious that it made the audience uncomfortable and bordered on slightly not necessary or the appropriate time. Okay with all that being said it was a great show Audra's voice and presence was wonderful. I am glad I was there. The theater is beautiful and makes you feel like royalty sitting there.

As usual, Lady Broadway was simply amazing!! Though she started the concert by saying she was sick and wasn't sure what would be coming out of her mouth, she was going to give us the best she had.Well, you could have fooled us, on the sick thing!! I believe she sang somewhat lower than normal, but she still nailed the high notes. She is, simply put, a stunning performer!! Her commitment to the Broadway genre is so strong... she always does older songs not heard in many years, and gives full credit to the Icons of Broadway who preceded her. Her notable outspoken commitment to charities such as Covenant House & LGBT rights make her such a forceful dynamo in her life, and in her performances! If you have an opportunity to see Audra, seize it! You will be so happy you did!!

This vocalist has a range that is so unique and beautiful. She said she'd been sick 2 days before and didn't know how she'd sound at this performance, but if she hadn't told us we would never have known. She has a wonderful repertoire and was mesmerizing

Audra McDonald put on the best concert I have ever attended. Her voice is spectacular, her three piece orchestra supported her without drowning her out, every word could be heard, the song selection was superb and her story telling and stage presence was fantastic. She said she was not feeling well and concerned how she would sound. I, as well as others around me, said I wonder what she would sound like if she felt well.

A truly talented, compasionate and audience driven performer she exceeded our expectations on so many levels. Her set list, coupled with a range of emotions let the audience look inside her and hear her love of Broadway. Her trio was a well oiled machine who played and executed brilliantly on her every song selection. I would recommend her highly to anyone looking for an evening of song that is entertaining and fun.

In addition to having a wonderful voice, Audra is very personable. She intermingles her songs with just the right amount of comments on its meaning, songwriter, and other background comments. She also has a wonderful sense of humor as well as a serious side. She is an all-around terrific entertainer!!

Audra was very relatable singing to a sold out crowd of mixed ages and backgrounds. She lives in NY City and knows the flavor of this tri-state area. She sang a rather "salty" song just for the New Jersey folks, and we love it, because we love the realness of Audra! I have recommended this show to many of my friends, but tickets must be purchased early, because they go really fast.

Audra McDonald sang music from the American theater. Most of the songs were obscure to me, but she closed with "Climb Every Mountain" & "Somewhere Over the Rainbow". Her vocal range is unbelievable. She is also very personable speaking between songs and telling stories about her life and the songs she was singing. It was a great sunday afternoon.
