My almost three year old loves the octonauts so this was a real treat. She loved it and I must say the time (a little over an hour) is just enough cause the attention span for anything longer is not there. The show itself was cute, the costumes and stage were adorable, the story line good and the o oh reason I gave it a 4 vs 5 stars is cause they need to incorporate the "creature report" into the story, cause ultimately that's what the show is about. Overall great experience!

Our little girl loved the show! Every kid in the audience had a great time. The intermission snuck up on us causing many kids to freak out, because they thought it was over. Merchandise line could've been managed a little better and they could've had a wider range of shirt sizes to include adult-sized shirts. But that can be expected with a packed house. Only real criticism of the show is that they didn't do the "creature report."

Our son loved it and cried when it was over. I do wish they did creature report and had better sound. Not sure if it was just our theater or not, but parts were very difficult to understand to the point our sons interest\\ would fade. Also, in the trailer his helpers wear uniforms, but we had a guy in the same T-shirt they sold at merchandising and in jeans and it looked sloppy and king of messed with the theme.

My just-turned 6 year old was bored and couldn't sit still. The show could of been produced by a group of moms. The special effects were lacking in every way. The kids could clearly see the people holding the props. Thank goods we only bought the $39 tickets as I would of been very upset if we had done the behind the scenes extras. I was not impressed at all.

We liked the show, my two kids love The Octonauts so this was a surprise for our 4 year old, it was good but the organization was awful, we arrived a little earlier because we didn't know the theater so when we got to the building nobody was giving you any directions, we finally found our seats and after a few minutes someone came and asked us to move because the sitting was wrongly acomodated so even though we had tickets for seats D6-D8 and we sat accordingly to the numbers on the chairs they moved us. Of course we complained to one of the security guys (I guess) and he kept trying to figure out what to do with us, finally another guy came over and told us to seat again in our places, well guess what, someone else had took our seats already, than he apologized it because this was not his fault but the tour's organization, really? Finally we found other seats and the show began 20 min late by the way, like I said it was a good show, nothing espectacular and I don't think we would do it again, even though my kids love the Octonauts. And of course I wouldn't recommend it.

First the show venue added seats that had a terrible view. We pointed this out to local ushers and they were able to move our seats to a better view. The show itself was just average. Single story line, similar to the show. No creature report. Limited sets. Show ran about 1 hour and 15 minutes including a 15 minute intermission. Expected better production value, but my daughter still enjoyed the Octonauts Live!

The stage area was smaller than it seemed on the map so our tickets were too far off to the side and we could barely see. It seemed like they didn't really have the rights to be doing the show. They didn't sing the opening song or creature report. The voices weren't done by the same people as the show. I wouldn't go see it again and my kids (4 and 6) were not impressed.

So disappointed with Octonauts Live. Very little production value, audio timing did not match the character movements, and "creature alert" song was missing. Poor story held together by multiple fart jokes. Definitely not the TV show. Save your money!

Firstly, the venue was filthy. The seats were sticky and gross, like it was always used for concerts witha ton of drinking. Secondly, this was a show targeted for the "under 5" crowd and it started at 5 pm on a Sunday evening. Why was this not a matinee? Likely so that they could charge exorbitant prices for the tickets, which leads me to my last point. The production was on par with a high school version of "Annie." They must not own the rights to the Octonauts music from the show, because the fan favorite tunes that my child wo would have known were absent from the event. The actors were not even performing the songs or lines live, but rather the sound guy was cueing and playing the dialogue. I only know this because we sat directly behind the sound board, in front of the light booth which had the overhead light left on for the better part of 30 minutes until I said something to an usher. Disappointing all around, luckily my toddler loved it but parents beware!

This show was like a low budget or "B Movie". For the price of the ticket I expected a lot more out of the production. The stage and sets were poorly done, there was not enough adherence to the normal show. The story line could have been better. Certainly expected more when asked to pony up >$100 per ticket.

The Octonaut's Volcano Adventure was a great surprise for our kids. We are big fans of the Octonauts so hearing they were in town was a big treat. The live stage show was a perfect alternative to the typical video performance - interactive, entertaining and lots of fun. Two friends came with us who didn't know about the Octonauts and had a blast. Learning about sea life, the dangers of underwater volcanoes and how a team can work together - makes for a great learning experience and fun evening. I'd recommend the Octonauts for adventurous fan big and small.

If you haven't seen it, it's a must! This is one of the best children's show I've seen. The show is interactive and gets the children engaged from the get go. It was clear that Captain Barnacles and his crew were engaging and loved by all. There is a lot of visual appeal as well. Lots of video visuals, as well as beautiful puppeteering. Absolutely loved Captain Barnacles, the sea creatures (especially the jelly fish) and use of black lighting. It's clear that there was a great deal of thought and preparation put into the show. We saw the show in Santa Barbara and loved it and the venue. Absolutely recommend taking the kids to see it!

We took our almost 4 year old and our 1 year old. We were nervous about baby's first show and about 4yo ability to focus with all the kids around (it was our first kids' show). They were both totally engaged the ENTIRE time!! Baby never took his eyes off the stage and applauded and cheered at all the right moments!! Big brother was TOTALLY into it, too! The cast were a pleasure to listen to and to watch! The were entertaining for the whole family. We are seriously considering trying to catch another show before the tour is thru!

My son enjoys Octonauts a lot when he watches it on tv, so when my wife and I heard Octonauts Live was coming to a theatre near enough to us, we jumped at the chance to go. We had the VIP experience where he could meet some characters after the show, which was fun. But most importantly, the show was GREAT! The theatre was packed and kids seemed really into what was going on on stage. The actors were lively, they sounded like the characters from the show, it was just a really fun time and my son was shouting at the stage much of the time. If you've got children who love Octonauts or even those who don't know it but want to have a good time, go see this show!

Loved the show .. Well put on and very cute set and costumes .. Only bad thing was the sound .. It was almost like they had a young crew who were just learning hadn't bothered with a sound check .. The background noise was so distracting that at times you couldn't hear the characters . Because of the terrible sound I think a lot of young kids lost focus which was a shame as it really could have been an excellent show .. Hope the producers actually read this as its meant to be constructive !

The show was cute, the kids enjoyed. It did not start on time nor resume on time after intermission, the whole audience full of kids was getting restless. However, the "EXPLORER PARTY" was a complete WASTE of money. There were NO games for the kids as was promised, even in the confirmation email, the two activities were coloring pages and origami sailor hats, self-directed. And a handful of balloons for the kids to chase around. There were NO snacks as promised, the only snacks were in our "gift" a plastic bucket with the "Octonauts Live" logo, each bucket had one small pack of goldfish and one other small snack pack. Certainly nothing of any substance, certainly not worth the money. The photo op was fine but not worth it either.

Loved the show. My kid is a huge fan of the Octonauts, and he loved seeing his favorite characters on stage. I was pleased with the show, I was disappointed that while the show had a lot of songs, the ONLY song in the show (Creature report, sang at the end of each episode) was not included in the stage show. I would have preferred that to the original songs in the live show. Overall my son and I enjoyed ourselves, and would consider attending another Octonauts Live show.

We love the Octonauts and we're thrilled to see them live. After reading reviews From previous other shows I have to say I was disappointed in today's show. We rarely saw Pro Inkling who in the books and show is the old wise man whom the pups look up To. At the show he was the discarded old man.. and prepare to buy a small plush toy for 30.00. However I think this show would be a perfect fit for a 4D type of show All in all I do not think I would go again

Please take a minute to read the negative reviews. It will keep your expectations low and the show will be really fun. The most important thing is my son loved it. The production and crowd interaction were perfect. My son stayed engaged the entire show. There were some negative aspects. Peso was lame, no energy, and the cost of the Octonauts souvenirs were crazy. 30 for a t-shirt, 20 for a cup and straw, 25 for a glow in the dark pin wheel. We went with the 10 dollar poster.

I bought seats first row above a walk way figuring there was no way my 4 year old's view would be blocked. Well, they had about 6 computers set up right in front of us on the next level, with people working them. It was EXTREMELY distracting with them working in front of us. I'd consider these seats "Obstructed View" at the very least. My Grand Daughter had to lean side to side to see some of the show. Sure wish they'd show where the operations section was when displaying tickets. Other venue's do. She was happy to be there, but I think it could have been a whole lot better. Between the T being down and having to go in by bus, the cold weather and the crappy view, it wasn't the fun day I had planned. I won't go to the Orpheum again.

This was our 2nd kids show this year. The costumes and sets were very realistic and high quality. My daughter is afraid of mascots, so it took her a few minutes to overcome that fear. I would have given 5 stars, but I thought the acoustics were somewhat muffled and it was difficult to understand the cast, especially with audience participation. Otherwise a very production.

This show had potential to be great, but it seemed like they just couldn't be bothered to put in any effort. I wouldn't waste your money. They didn't even include a creature report, which occurs at the end of every episode. I paid over $100 per ticket for the show and "explorer party". This consisted of a few small tables that had self serve activities like color a page, fold your own origami hat (paper too small for child to wear hat), and magnet fishing game. The snacks provided were a handful of small bags of chips and fruit snacks. The included merchandise was a plastic pail with a certificate in it. The photo booth doesn't print pictures, they will email them to you. Really we paid a ton of money to stand in line to get pictures taken with only two Octonauts and be rushed out. I can't express my disappointment more in this event.

The show was obviously geared toward the smallest people in the audience. The kids enjoyed it (my four year old son included). The parents in the auditorium played along, but, from my vantage point, every adult was just there for their kids. The writing, such as it was, was poor, the "actors" in the suits were not particularly engaging - and the prerecorded voices were also pretty bad. That said, the DPAC is a nice venue, the staff were always bright, cheery, and helpful. The snacks and drinks were good and reasonably priced (the beer was a little more expensive, but for what I had to witness for my child, nearly any price for alcohol was worth paying).

this was pretty disappointing for our 4 year old. They didn't sing any of the songs from the show - our 4 year old kept asking if it would get better, but it never did. Luckily he's pretty even-tempered, so he was happy we went to the show together even though it was a bust. As we were leaving, he said that it would have been better if they had just showed the cartoon on a screen for an hour. I felt the same way.

This was my son's first show. He's 3 1/2. We sat relatively close so he could see well and had no issues. All of the props and characters were large enough to be seen from all over the concert hall. The show did a great job of keeping things "busy" to keep the little ones occupied on the stage and what was happening next. Even the little "breaks" for them to change backgrounds were entertaining with the different sea animals that came out in front of the curtain to pass the time. Overall, we both really enjoyed the show!

Very poor show. I have taken my kids Disney Live shows and Sesame Street Live and this show is not close in quality to those shows. This show could not keep my kids (5 and 2) entertained. And to top it off, it is only an hour long and has an intermission...we left at intermission. WASTE of money. The characters are not very animated and the set is lacking in detail. The show was well choreographed with fun new songs. All the favorite characters were there. I was disappointed that the Octo-alert was simply replaced by a "volcano alert" to the Creature Report tune. The real human leading the show was a great way to get the audience involved. Super bummed at the voices, though. Characters were in full masks the entire time - were the fancy British voice actors from the real show just too busy to be bothered with recording voices for this stage show when it's such a treat for their dedicated fans? Wish something more would have been done. My five year old noticed the difference, but luckily I was able to keep their poor planning from ruining the magic by attracting her attention to the fun instead. Great idea to show so many past "guest" species from the midnight zone in the show. Puppeteering was fantastic. Very well written show. My kids can now say that they are official Octonauts, and they will surely never forget this.

My son loves Octonauts. I watch the show with him on occassion. I bought these tickets as a birthday present for him. The show was poorly staged - no real creativity there. It looked and felt cheap. It didn't really do anything special. They had a guy on stage giving directions to the kids - presumably to make the kids feel like a part of the show, but it just felt tacked on and cheap. Also... WORST THING... the ONE thing I was looking forward to in the show was for them to do the Octonaut theme and the Creature Report song... and they didn't do it! What were they thinking?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

You could tell within the first 15 minutes, they put some real money into this and just like any Octonaut episode - it was very educational. With any kid, keeping them in their seats for 1:30h show, it's going to be difficult. They work on engaging the kids (fly left, fly up), and doing well rehearsed songs, along with laughs along the way. Then the curtains drop and they enact underwater sea creatures swimming and glowing even in the deep dark midnight zone. While at the midnight zone, they reinforce actual creatures shown within the Octonauts episodes! I gotta say, my four year old went from minute 30 asking when it would be over, to not wanting it to be over after 90 minutes. To the cast, you did a great job in Detroit. We did the meet and greet and it was fairly professionally done - we got to meet Barnacles and Tweak for a picture which she was so happy for.

It's hard to reconcile the cost of the tickets with the overall mediocre production quality. The sets might have looked better from further back, but up close, they were just embarrassing -- and even worse when they were turned the wrong way so that bare plywood and 2x4's were facing the audience. Very sloppy work. Overall, the production crew probably did the best with a limited budget, but the result was that my son has pretty much lost all interest in the Octonauts now, rather than having it increase.

I've been to a few kid centered shows so I think I can give a decent, objective opinion. First, I was put off by the price of these tickets. Over $400 for three seats. I was expecting something spectacular at that price. This show was only mildly entertaining. My son, who LOVES the Octonauts was a bit bored with this show. They deviated from their educational concept about sea animals, and had an actual human as part of the crew. That seemed way off and odd. My son was expecting to learn about a new animal and was disappointed that there wasn't one. He was also confused as to why there was a man on the stage with the characters. I thought the quality was low for the amount paid. The VIP party was part of the package and that was quite lame. Snacks included Goldfish crackers, Annies fruit chews and water from a water cooler. You had a chance to take a picture with two of the characters which was the highlight of the entire experience. The "activities" were aimed at toddlers and seemed to be an afterthought. Overall, I'm unhappy with what I got at that price point. If I were to do this again, I would skip the VIP package entirely and get balcony seats. If the tickets were half price, I would feel better about it but at the top tier price you expect a top tier show and this was just not in that category. The fact that an avid Octonauts fan was bored with the show says a lot.

OurJr. high school puts on better productions. $50.00 a ticket was way over priced for this lack luster show. Concessions and Souvenirs followed suite unfortunately.

My 3 and 4 year olds are huge fans of Octonauts and couldn't wait to see it. I was not expecting much and was still horribly disappointed- not for my sake but for theirs. The show was poorly written and horribly produced. They cut every corner possible. I have seen high school performances that were better thought out. My 4 year old down right hated it and my 3 year old declared it boring.

My son loved Octonauts Live! He loves the TV series but was even more enthralled by the live action. The characters involved the audience in their adventure and my son responded enthusiastically. I spent more time watching him and the expressions on his face then the show. Highly recommend this show if your little one loves the Octonauts.

My grandkids loved this show! Good music as well as educational. The only negative is scanning a 3 and 5 year old for weapons upon entry! :(

Did not keep audience interested. Hard to understand some characters. My 4 year old was disappointed. Ticket prices were extravagant for such a short show.

The show was fun, energetic...kept the kids attention; however, it was way overpriced at 43.50 per person for orchestra seats ...probably the reason why the theatre was half full ...I paid $168 for two adults and 1child for 1 hr of performance

The show was outstanding. Very engaging for the kids. The VIP ticket experience was a waste of money.

My son is 3-1/2 and has enjoyed watching Octonauts on Disney Jr. He absolutely loved seeing them live and singing along to old songs and hearing new ones. The characters were very engaging, and he was so enthralled that he didn't want to leave his seat during the 15 intermission. We also took his 10 month old sister, and she clapped and watching all the bright colors the entire time. We were a few rows up from the stage, and I think being close helped keep his attention as well. A really amazing family night!

Very well done! The storyline was a compliation of tv show stories that my daughter enjoyed and had a great line-up of creatures introduced on the show. Great energy. I also appreciated the fact that I was not bombarded by merchandise. One table, subtly set-up was it!

The show is basically. a play, which I didn't expect. The far exceeded my expectations. My husband and I took our four year old who is obsessed with the octonauts. He has had 2 octonaut birthdays and wants his fifth to be octonauts as well. I would go again in a heartbeat.

I thought the show was kind of cute. Honestly I was bored so I didn't expect much less from my kids. My boys who are 4 and 6 attended and they didn't "dislike" it, but it hasn't been exciting enough to mention again, especially for the price. I wish we could take photos with characters or add something special to make it worth our time.

My 5 year old granddaughter smiled through the entire show. However, couldn't figure out why their mouths didn't move. What a way to expose children to live theater! Will be attending Paw Patrol soon.

Great show for kids, my almost 5 year old liked it and it wasn't too long. great songs and characters were quite true to the animation, lots of glow in the dark action and they got the crowd involved. As for the venue, Revention Music Centre, it was ok but the Usher I asked for assistance to find my seats, lead us one way, then another, and then kind of just said my seat was somewhere in that direction, then walked off to assist some other people, i ended up just sitting in some empty seats that I found, terrible customer service by people not paid enough to care I figure.

My 3 and 6 year old completely loved the show! All their favorite characters were there. It was just like the episodes my kids love, but with even more adventures. I was shocked that they paid attention the whole time. It's insane that the actors are able to sing live in those costumes, but I could tell they were actually singing and talking. Very cool. My kids asked if we could come back tomorrow! I personally love theater and this was a great first live show for them.

My 4 year old Octonaut fan loved the show! We loved how the actors got the children involved in the show and the stage work was great. Great show for any young fan.

The performance had potential and the kids really enjoyed it. I will state this. There seemed to be only 2 of the performers that cared about the quality of the show. The movements when dancing were sluggish and sub par compared to the children's theater that I have been to previously. As VIP ticket holders with passes to the after party, I was again disappointed. The performers that came to the after party came in, posed for a single photo with each group and immediately left. There was virtually zero interaction of the Octonauts with the kids. Was the show OK? Yes. Was it good. No. Children will be happy with it, but it was obvious that the performers would rather have been elsewhere. Going to the show is OK, but not the VIP and after party. It was a waste of money.

One of the best live shows I've ever seen! It's an epic adventure for the whole family. The songs are catchy, the sets are amazing, and the whole cast is so talented. The entire audience, parents and kids, were dancing and singing along at some parts. I'm definitely taking my family again next time it comes into town.

I hadn't heard of the Octonauts before this show. I came to see the LA show with my niece. She was blown away, which was the whole point, but I was moved by the intelligence and heart in the script and the dedicated performances. I've recommended the show to all of my friends, and I imagine they'll be in attendance at subsequent stops. Great stuff, keep it up : )
