Company of Thieves never disappoints. I was intrigued by the pared down Pealed and Revealed tour which was just Genivive and Mark. I loved their previous full band show at the Foundry and worried that this show wouldn't have the same COT energy. But the two band founders just absolutely won me over. Gen's wonderful voice and lyrics are mezmerizing and her TOTAL love for her fans is obvious. She talks before each song to set it up and speaks right to each person with sometimes fun, sad, funny stories of how the song came about. On guitar and bass drum (his guitar case) Mark makes every song special with his amazing mastery of the instrument. I was in the front row and still can not figure out how he gets such beautiful and interesting sounds out of his two guitars. He is a true 6 string virtuoso equal to the greats of the past. Thank you COT and please come back to Philly soon! And thank you 104.5 for bringing them here!

Wow, what can I say? First time I've had a chance to see my favorite band live- brought my 14 year old daughter and now she's a big fan too! Got a set list from Mark and a handshake from Genevieve to boot... great night! next time, I would like to hear more from the first album, which they pretty much omitted except for Oscar Wilde.

I have never been to a concert so captivating. This band is absolutely invested in every single song they play. I've loved their music for several years now but never got the chance to see them until this show. I wish they had played for longer (not that their show was short, but they were beyond amazing and I could have watched them play all night). Definitely worth seeing them, no matter how well you know their music. They play music because they love it, and that's so apparent.

Best concert I've been to in a long time! The local openers were a good warm up to the energy and pure joyful sound that Company of Thieves displayed! The show was their largest as a headline band and it showed with the excitement from both the band and the crowd singing together most of the night.

Unreal show. This band is getting very popular in Columbus. The Newport was full and the show was the best I have seen. I hope COT comes back to the Newport and sells it out later this year.

Great lineup from start to finish.I have never seen Nick Tolford an Co.I was amazingly impressed with them.Jackie and the stabbs, although local and fairly new to large stage crowds was a nice 2nd act. COT took the stage just before 9.Great opening song.Got the crowd into the show from the start.Genevieve's energy, and spunk really comes through in her stage set.She is so thankful, and positive towards her fans, and those promoting the bands goods. She kept re-iterating this throughout the show.Overall a GREAT concert.I would see them again 10 times. And I recommend seeing them to anyone, especially any fan who has never had the oppurtunity to hear them live. Thanks E

Talented high energy performers with a unique and original sound. This was my second COT show in the last yr and their perfomance keeps getting better and better. Gen's vocals and personal style are both amazing! Additionally,I was fortunate enough to meet and talk with the band on both occasions and they are down to earth, genuine, gracious, kind and welcoming to their fans! Appreciated the reasonable ticket prices and loved the South Street venue as well! My words of wisdom? Make it a priority to go see this band, you won't regret it and will walk away an even bigger fan then u were to start, thanks to their outstanding sound and fun performance.

Doors opened later than advertised and had to stand and wait in an ally around the corner (haven't been to a TLA show in a while, so I assume this is their standard crowd control protocol). First band didn't take the stage for well over an hour past the scheduled start time, but I guess they were waiting for the place to fill-up a bit. First band, My Name is Andrew (I think?), were ok musically, but there was room to improve, hence the opening slot. They had a lot of energy and got the crowd going somewhat, but were trying a bit too hard with their stage craft, e.g., crowd surfing, jumping on amps, etc. The second band, Girl in a Coma, rocked the house! Albeit unfairly, I saw they were an all-girl band so I was bit dubious about their musicianship. My bad! This trio is a talented, no- BS rock band from Texas. Simple, yet effective drum and bass lines coupled with great guitar work with bluesy overtones by the talented lead singer made a believer out of me. These chicks are definitely on their way up. Company of Thieves (COT), the headline act, also did not disappoint. Gracious, unpretentious and music-focused, COT delivered a delightfully satisfying set list. New songs were predominant , but an unexpected cover song or two were thrown in the mix and they made sure to include their signature Oscar Wilde number. Overall, one of the better small venue performances I've seen lately. I rate it four toe taps out of five!

So Wednesday was the 3rd time I've seen Company of Thieves and they are getting better and better. I was happy to see a new drummer instead of their bassist, guy with the long hair, try his best to play the drums. I would argue that Philly is one of their fan's biggest strongholds.

We haven't been to the TLA in years, apparently no one else has either. Dirty, rundown, and tired. Could use a serious facelift and upgrade. And I'm a huge fan of Philadelphians, but wow this crowd was a mixed bag of folks that didn't exactly get asked to the prom. CoT was good, they might be one of the best 90s rock band that never existed. Geniveve is a superstar, but I think this project has run its course. BTW, CoT, Girls in a Coma, and My Name is Drew was the lineup.Wow, 3 of the worst band names ever in one evening.

I recently attended the Company of Thieves show at the Bowery Ballroom in NYC. It was my first time at the venue and my experience was great. Both opening bands, espeically Hank & Cupcakes, were outstanding and the perfect complementing acts for Company of Thieves. I would likely see any of the bands again.

We attended the Aladdin Theater show in Portland with some friends of ours that flew in from Kentucky to see them (they have seen them numerous times). I have heard their music before and was happy to attend, but I was not expecting the outstanding live performance they gave. It was an amazing show and I'm a new fan of their music and of them... they were heartfelt, humble and gracious. I'll attend a live show of theirs anytime I can now! :)

Company of Thieves was incredible live! So much energy and enthusiasm and they sounded flawless. The only slight turn-off was that I bought tickets for a 7:00 show and there were 3! opening acts, so CoT didn't go on til 10. It was a Monday night, so the next day of work was a bit rough. However, had I known, I may not have bought tickets, and it was totally worth it. They rocked.

Company of Thieves is the future of rock. I started going to live rock in 1967, I was at Woodstock, and this show was like Rock BEFORE it filled arenas. Genevieve Schatz is angry, taking names and calling out the offenders like Dylan with pipes like Candy Givens or Grace Slick, except on key like Pat Benatar. It felt like a Rock Opera because the songs flowed together in long trajectories and had such vivid images. Marc is a scholar of guitar history, absorbing Catfish Collins funk, Jeff Beck Scream and the range of Jimi Hendrix from clean hammer-ons to wall of noise. He danced across the boards both fret and pedal like a ballet star. This time through New York he pushed the edge, wilding on solos for the hard core audience. Don't know who is responsible for the arrangements but they ROCK. Every story makes me think, makes me feel, makes me move, makes me want to scream and shout. The bass and drum lock made me realize what was missing in the backup bands - in the Baroque era it was called "Continuo" - support for the lead through rhythm and counterpoint. The keys where also supportive, filling in the colors of the second guitar tracks from the recordings so organically it was more vibrant live. Only criticism: the mixer kept vocals out front by making them shrill. Female voice should have full body, which means mixing down everything else. May have been due to acoustics problem. In summary, as a perfectionist I found this concert to be nearly perfect. Catch them while they are still in clubs. My $15 seat will be $200 in the near future.

Saw them at Larkfest in Albany, NY in '09 and have become slightly obsessed with the band and their phenomenal music. Lead singer, Genevieve Schatz, is petite but don't let her size fool you! She's the real deal, with a long positive career ahead of her. Songwriting is her and the guitarist's strong suit, along with their live performances. This upcoming show on June 14th at Northern Lights in Clifton Park, NY, should be no exception.

I'm so glad that I finally got to see this band. So engaging and great music. I wish they would've played more songs from the Ordinary Riches CD. The venue was great, in that is was small and intimate. I'm surprised there weren't more people at the show, but better for us to have an up-close experience without a mass crowd. Company of Thieves presented an evening that was unforgettable. This was a once in a lifetime experience. To be in an intimate setting and hear the stories behind the lyrics and the music. To see them on stage just being themselves and having FUN, not there for the limelight or the fame, was the best part of the show. Not to mention the performance of Windows and Tallulah. The cover songs were also brilliant. Such great energy and such great people!

First time ever I have been to this venue. Asked an old friend to come along, both totally enjoyed the venue. I won two tickets to this show on Global Citzen. Was not familar with the performers. The young man beside me was, sang along with every song that they performed, which was fine.. Both of the performers wer very good, totally enjoyed the show and how close the performers were to our seat, how close the crowd was and how interactive the performers were with the audience. Will for sure return to the FOUNDRY.

Saw Company of Thieves open for Walk the Moon and I am amazed that they are not way, way, WAY more popular. Live At Audio Tree is an exceptional record. The interplay between Genevieve Schatz and Marc Walloch is amazing and a thing of beauty. I would much rather hear Oscar Wilde, Pressure or any of their recorded efforts on the radio rather than the one-size-fits-all schmaltz that passes for popular music today. The Thursday night House of Blues crowd gave the appropriate and heartfelt response saved for the very best of openers. I shake my head in dismay at live music "fans" that skip the undercard. I've seen bands like Sir Sly, Joywave, Strange Talk, Bad Suns and now Company of Thieves (to name a few) go toe-to-toe with excellent headliners so show them the respect they deserve by showing up and buying the shirt...and the cd...and the vinyl. We always do and never regret it! I hope you all come back to San Diego and play for us every chance you get. You give me hope in the future of music as meaningful art!

COT was absolutely the most electrifying show I have seen in years. Genevieve has a charisma that can make a man cry and a woman scream with joy and her bluesy full throated vocal range is amazing. Their well crafted songs full of emotion and are apparently gleaned from a hard life with little money. Mark and the band are hard playing, talented and extremely polished. His guitar an excellent counterpoint to her Genevieve's. Why this band is not featured on the rock and Alt radio all the time is beyond me. Thank you 104.5 for brining them to Philly! Bring tham back soon!

You HAVE to go to the next COMPANY of THIEVES performance, wherever it is! This group is the most high-energy hard-driving group I've seen in years. Genevieve's performance is spectacular, all night long she gives 1000% and the other musicians are phenomenal as well.. their energy and musical chemistry are outstanding.. they, too, never let up, the entire set. Marc Walloch and Chris Faller, (the other original CofT musicians) groove endlessly, supported by a fine pianist (didn't catch his name) and an AMAZING drummer, Brendan McCusker, a new addition to CofT.... he slays on the drums all night long. Catch them ASAP!! They deserve to be musical guests on SNL!! LOVED the venue (Foundry in Philly). Great club!

This was the most fun I've ever had at a concert, and I've been to a lot of them. The leader singer Gen is genuinely thankful for the crowds that come to see them. The whole band plays with a lot of enthusiasm and passion. After the show, they hang out with the fans in the merchandise selling area.. They actually enjoy being mobbed by the fans, they were smiling the entire time. I wish they would get more radio time nationally, they would be huge. Sadly, corporate radio prevents acts like this from getting exposure. I was on the fence about going to this show, but I was so glad I went. Bought both their CDs after the show, and have been listening a lot. I can't wait for them to come back!

You know you're going to enjoy yourself at a Company of Thieves show (each member's respective talent level is off the charts, they really connect with the audience) and their acoustic performance doesn't disappoint. Loved it. I was pleasantly surprised by their opening act, von Grey, who consists of four of the most talented young people their age I've ever witnessed perform, as well as the local opening acts They're Coming, They're Coming and Sunglass. Great show, and I am excited to see what Company of Thieves brings back to Columbus in the future.

I absolutely love Company of Thieves, and this is the second time I've gotten to see them live. This venue was perfect for them, and I was able to get right up to the stage. My only complaint was that their set seemed fairly short- they played for less than an hour and a half. The two openers seemed to go on a little long, which was a little unfortunate. Root and Stem was pretty cool as a local opener, but The Beautiful Bodies were not really my style. Way too loud and the microphone didn't seem loud enough. All in all it was a good experience, though, and I look forward to seeing CoT return to the KC area!
