Childish Gambino

This was honestly the best concert I've ever been to. Gambino was amazingly energetic and and he did an awesome job pumping the crowd up. I would go to this concert a million more times and would not be bored. He is an amazing entertainer. Badu was stunning. She didn't have to put as much effort into her preformance as gambino and it was equally amazing. If you can go to this concert GO!

Awesome show. They have a DJ opener so Childish didn't come on till about 9:30.. Gambino killed it as usual. The floor on that room feels Like a trampoline and bounces everyone when everyone starts jumping.

I saw gambino at a popup show in hawaii two weeks prior to me seeing him at the shrine. he was off the hook at a venue that only holds 400 people at most. but to see the production value for his tour and how different it was and how much was brought simply from a different set dress was awesome. I'm glad I got to see him twice because it made me appreciate both shows: the simplicity and intimacy of the first show and the production and craziness of his deep Webb show. in both cases he brought the passion and energy that pumped up both sold out crowds.

Show was amazing. Gambino is crazy good and really put on a show. venue was too crowded though

AMAZING......there are no other words, best concert I've ever been to.

This was seriously a life-changing experience for me. I have never been to a concert before, but as a diehard Cheezy fan, I knew I had to go to this concert. I got to the venue about 2.5 hours before the start time, and ended up getting a good spot for general admission (about 5th row of people). Dj SoSuperSam came out as the opening act, which was received with mixed feelings. At the end, some people thought she was amazing while others were "put to sleep" by her. I personally thought she was mediocre; some of the songs were great, some were so old that I felt like it's been 5+ years since I first heard them. When Gambino came out, the entire crowd erupted in excitement, and he definitely did not disappoint. He opened with Hero, and the amount of energy he put into the entire performance was mind-boggling. After an hour, he left the stage but came back for a 15-minute encore after everyone was chanting "Gambino! Gambino!". I believe he performed 16 songs (at least), 6 of which are off his still unreleased album Camp. Overall, I had the time of my life, and I believe fellow Cheezy fans would unanimously agree.

The Camp tour should not be confused with Donald's previous tour. With a full length album (that garnered 4 mics from the source!) on the horizon, Donald drops a lot of the multimedia stuff and jokes for a serious concert. Swooping in with tracks from Camp like Heartbeats, Bonfire, and You See Me (UCLA) you almost forget this was the same guy on your tv every thursday night. This high energy bundle of puns was a crowd pleaser through and through. At times he even found himself just at the edge of the crowd. The crowd who chanted along with him to mixtape nuggets like hero, my shine, and rolling in the deep kept the show flowing.

The show was amazing from the start to the finish. If your a gambino fan than this was the place to be in NYC was here. The only thing that was a bummer was the sound quality it wasn't as crisp and that's okay the overall show was amazing

Childish was amazing. I had such a great time! Me & my friend were on the floor, pretty damn close. He can rap so fast and so accurately. You could tell that he loved his music and his fans. He went back on Caldesac, and all of his other EPs to play some dope songs. He also played a few new tracks from CAMP, which is amazing! I think his album is gonna crush Drake's (if people find out in time about childish). I had a great time. THANKS DONALD GLOVER!

This was my second Childish Gambino concert and I think I'll go whenever he's in town. If you want an original artist with great music, go see him. Donald Glover is a beast, can't wait for Camp to come out November 15th!

I guess I am too accustomed to shows that say 8:30 on the ticket and don't start until 10, because I got to the Commodore at 9 when the ticket said 8:30 (I understand the flaw in that logic) and if there was any Donald Glover opening for himself it was completely over and he was well in to the Childish Gambino set. Bummed. However, the Gambino band and performance was outstanding. That guy did his thing and bounced with enough energy to keep the whole house filled with "endless dopeness"

Simply an amazing performance! Childish Gambino/Donald Glover is a great comedian and rapper.

So this is a two part show, first half Donald Glover does some stand up, second half, Childish Gambino comes out and raps. Not a terrible idea, Donald Glover has some great stand up and I personally love his music. However combining the two, for my taste, terrible. I wasn't comfortable having to stand and try and watch his stand up, and when the music started, people didn't seem comfortable dancing, as if they were just there to see jokes. Also, the music was far too quiet.

What a great show. Donald is super funny and such a talented guy. I don't watch Community, and I've never heard his music, but I REALLY liked his sound and loved his comedy routine. The El Rey was the perfect place for a show like that, too, because you get to be so close to the artists performing. This show reminded me why I like the El Rey so much and made me want to go out and grab Donald's CDs!

Like a lot of comedians before him, Donald Glover is culturally relevant and does an excellent job of getting across his funny, sometimes scathing points. I was completely caught off guard by the amount of music that was in the show. I was expecting more comedy since I heard about him through his part in the show Community. After first warming up to the fact of comedian/rapper, Donald actually laid down some pretty good rhymes. His opening song might not have been his best but he definitely showed he can hang as the night went on. By far one of my favorite moments when he showed he had some depth and did a pretty good job singing on a very personal song. The live band definitely helped the music on a whole and Donald's stage presence is amongst the best i've seen live. He reminds me of lesser rapper than Lupe Fiasco, but still good. All together the guy is a Rock Star on the rise.

I love Donald's stand-up, but he takes himself way too seriously on the hip-hop tip. I mean, he's a great lyricist, and has pretty good punchlines. But dude needs to learn how to move the crowd. A teeming mass of hipsters bobbing for an hour a hip-hop show does not make.

This was one of the most fun shows I've ever been to. The evening combined stand-up comedy with hip-hip for an awesome and unique show. Donald Glover rocked the El Rey.

Great transition from Donald to Childish Gambino. Loved the bit about other rappers trying to do comedy.

That was the single most impressive performance I've ever seen. Overflowing with passion and intensity, I'm still raving about it.

This show was really great and lively. The first opening act was really good, but the second one was not too great. My boyfriend and I could barely understand what he was saying. Childish Gambino did a splendid performance. There were times where the instruments were a little too loud to understand what Gambino was saying, but overall a great performance! I would see him again.

he's gonna be the next big thing. amazing. i didn't know some of the songs, but i didn't need to. it was awesome.

By far one of the best concerts I've ever been to. The bartenders and event staff were friendly and attentive and the venue wasn't at all overcrowded. Although the multistory venue (Terminal 5) is a pain to navigate (upstairs, then downstairs, then upstairs, then downstairs...) it was worth it for the unforgettable show put on by Childish Gambino and the whole band. DJ SoSuperSam played an amazing opening set to get the crowd hyped, after which CG came out and played a great mix of crowd pleasers, deep cuts, and new tracks off his upcoming album 'CAMP'. He performed every track with unbridled intensity and wasn't afraid to jump into the crowd every now and then to please his fans. Amazing show; can't wait until he's back in town!

I still have to write in this part? I guess so. Ok. Well the show was pretty awesome. Jokes, sits and music. You'll definitely like at least part of the show. I gave it 5 stars so obviously liked all the parts.

He's the future! One of the most talented individuals in the industry period. 30 Rock suffered a loss and SNL missed out.

Donald Glover puts on a hip hop show like no other person out there. He uses a live band, sings and raps every word, and gets the crowd involved. Glover puts so much emotion into each and every one of his lyrics live that there is no doubt in your mind and feels and believes every word he says.

I was surprised that I was even able to get these tickets, but alas I did, and make the trek down to NYC from Rochester. Show starts at 8:30om?? Nope. Doors at 8:30. Show not until around 9:30. But we got in, and it was a little tiny club. Such a cool little place for a big name like Bino. Very intimate setting to say the least. And despite the size, the sound quality all around was incredible. He played for a little over an hour and half, mostly tracks from Awaken My Love, which what I wanted to see. I saw him in 2012 in Buffalo and it was more hip hop based, but overall, this show was way better. Played most of AML, except a couple tracks (would have loved to see Zombies). Crowd was pleasant, not unruly, and very concerned of everyone around them. Just fantastic all around.

The energy of the old bino shows is gone. AML not at all engaging live except Me and Your Mama. Different creative space for donald - i respect it. Just wish I had known it would be all new material before paying $150 for it.

Opening act was really good, forgot their names tho. Bino put on one hell of a show performing all the bangers from BTI and his new mixtape. Erykah Badu brought the crowd to their metaphorical knees with her beautiful crooning. 10/10

This was the first time to this venue. Seating is great, acoustic are amazing. Erykah killed it.

Childish Gambino killed it: He had a full band(including a 15 piece string set with a Harpist). I was throughly impressed and left as a fan. Erykah Badu: What can I say....Phenomenal and Incomparable. The perfect blend of soul and hip hop.

I went mostly for Childish Gambino, but also fell in love with Erykah Badu! These two have so much energy and they put on an AMAZING show! Gambino is so fun on stage and so poetic. He played a little bit of everything from his work, and it was great to hear some things from CAMP. Erykah blew me away! She has an amazing voice and just knows how to engage a crowd! I went home and listened to her work, but it was so great to see it live.

Even though I am not necessarily a hip hop fan, I enjoyed Childish Gambino's performance. Of course, Erykah Badu was simply fabulous.

This was sooo amazing! Childish can definitely work a crowd. There was sooo much energy! The crowd was almost like a mosh pit people were so hype! I would definitely go again. He sounds exactly the same in concert as the album. I'm so glad I got to experience him in concert.

Gambino put on an awesome performance. I love his music and it was totally cool to see him perform Telegraph on Telegraph! He has a lot of love for the bay and it shows in his music. Erykah was perfect. All of her beats were hard and she rocked every song. This show was worth all 5,000 pennies I paid for the ticket!

Words cannot express how much fun my friends and I had that night.. Erykah and Childish Gambino were exceptional.. They both were accompanied by a live band which only made their performances come ALIVE.. Also lets not forget Overdose who rocked the stage as the opening act.. I do wish Erykah performed longer and the food prices weren't so high..

I love Childish Gambino! I was mad when I missed him when he came to Oakland, but it was so worth the wait. He was so hyped, he danced all night! I loved how he did new and old songs! I wish he would have done some comedy because he is hilarious, but he did amazing and showed The Bay so much love! Erykah Badu is a legend! She sounds exactly the same, which was not a surprise. I heard she was boo'd at her last concert, there were definitely none of that going on ... shouldn't have ever happened in the 1st place! She was awesome, everything I expected and beyond! I loved the whole concert, great lineup, great venue, great time hands down!

Erykah Badu was incredible. the sound was sooo good at the Greek theatre. I could even hear Childish Gambino's lyrics easily, which is rarely the case for a hip hop show.

Overall the concert was AMAZING! The only thing I wish happened was for it to be longer. Both artist preformed for a little over an hour which is not a lot of time considering they are both headliners. Childish started the show off right and got the crowd pumped as his cute little self pranced around the stage. Then Ms.Badu appealed to everyone's soul as she serenaded the audience with her lyrics and creativity. I grew up listening to her so seeing her live almost brought me to tears. Crazy right? I wish I could relive that experience!

Incredible duo. Would have loved to see them both on stage together but let's face it, Erykah Badu throws down in the bay. I was pleasantly surprised with Childish Gambino, he has great stage presence and is really good live. It attracted a pretty young crowd considering it was a Badu concert but everyone was vibing off the good music so no complaints here :)

All performers had the crowd live and active, it was awesome. The first group i dont recall their names but i believe they are from L.A. had the crowd feeling the music. Childish Gambino was really good, that was my first time really listening to his music and i enjoyed it. The main person i came to see was Erykah Badu and all i can say is killed it!!! My mind was restored and i was in music heaven.... i will be at every show she has when she comes to the bay area!! That was also my first time at the Greek theatre and i was skeptikal when we got there because im used to a different age crowd but i loved the diversity, i loved how everyone was truly there to see a performance and bond with one another and make memeories. I would go here again to see a live concert and recommend it to others.

Although I didn't stay for Erykah Badu's piece, Childish Gambino was off the hook!

i went to the concert mainly for childish gambino. i knew of erykah badu and her music but i wasnt into her as much as CB. that all changed that night. first gambino absolutely killed his set. i thought he mixed up his set very well by integrating BTI music and old favorites like LES from Camp. he had a lot of energy and it flowed into his performance. when he left i wasnt sure what to expect from ms badu but she blew me away. every song was on point and she commanded the stage and your attention the entire time. she was funny and calming and was relaxed and it ended up being one of the best experiences ive ever had. all in all im sure there are ppl that didnt like it as much as me but i loved it. both performers had energy and it led to one of the best concerts ive been to.

One of the best concerts I've been to in a while. Gambino's a natural performer. The app worked well. The only downside was the opening DJ wasn't good at all. All in all it was an amazing concert and I'll be waiting for his next tour.

The venue was great! He is a great performer! The effect and graphics used were brilliant! No wonder it was a sold out show! I really liked and I'm looking forward to his next visit to Las Vegas!

THIS WAS THE MOST AMAZING THING EVER!! I loved this concert, Donald was so great and energetic and I still can't believe he did three encores. I'm still reliving this in my mind. He should totally come back soon. WE LOVE YOU BINO!!

This was an unforgettable experience! One of the best concerts I have been too. The energy from Childish Gambino and the crowd was phenomenal. Seeing all 4000 people jumping up and down and dancing and singing along was spectacular. The one thing I suggest because there is limited parking is to have someone drop you off, carpool, or use public transportation. The venue also offered shuttle buses to pick people up and take them to where there car is parked. Overall, it was a truly enjoyable experience.

Although it was a rainy day it was worth it!!, Stayed on line and went in on time (hammerstein could have warned patrons their umbrellas would be thrown away). I found my place to stand, music was playing then the deep web app came on everyone was having a blast kind of "trolling" like the character "the boy" from the because the internet screenplay. Then, Dj Stefan Ponce arrived kept the crowd hyped up with everything from Ruff Ryders Anthem , New Gambino and even Aretha Franklin's "Respect". After we heard a dial up internet sound that had the crowd confused but it made sense to me for the internet theme. Eventually the "dial up" successful, a loading bar comes across the screen and we hear the voice of Gabrielle union (which Gambino indicated this was the mother from the script) then a blueprint of the like this house appears and comes in to color displaying the stage as if it the character "the boy" house , Crowd gets crazy and bino appears, the energy throughout was POWERFUL, bino danced, jumped and indeed made the crowd scream and sweat :). He did some songs off of Culdesac ,EP and Camp (everyone was hysterical over it lol). His brother Steve G Lover came out as well and they closed out the show with a 10 minute freestyle AWESOME!!!! which was a 3rd Encore for NY!!!! show ended I bought merchandise. I was blown away this world that Childish Gambino built was right in front us from script to live experience WIDE EYED EMJOI indeed. I am glad this was my first Childish Gambino!!

A radiant performance. Theatrical, multi-media, performance art, computer coding, ass-kicking badass music...and that DANCING. You ever see the joy in a performer caught in the moment of doing everything they were born to do, all at once? So beautiful. Transcendent.

Started with Stefon Ponce as a DJ mixing songs to create a pumped up vibe in the crowd and it surely worked! He was able to put together a playlist where Childish's fan base could sing every song with crazy high energy. When CG came out the laser light show was impressive and the stage setting was great. His live band was incredible and were the perfect compliment to CG's high energy performance. CG rocked the stage in a way that few rappers can do. He owned the crowd and was able to make them sing, listen, and dance whenever he wanted. His set list was extensive and included songs from Culdesac to BTI. ABSOLUTELY AMAZING.

Been a huge fan if childish gambino for a long time now and never had the chance to see him live until last Saturday. Let's just say, the years I waited was well worth it. Bino travels with a live band and puts on a great show. The different sets, the different moods, the three encores, everything was great. The crowd was hyped, and if you are considering seeing a show... Go see gambino. Best lyricist in the game. Is and always will be.

Of course seeing Childish Gambino perform was dope. Love him, he's a great performer with amazing visuals. The concert was supposed to start at 8, it started at 9.15 and ended before 10.30 so don't expect a long concert. Opening Dj was very weak but gambino played songs from BTI and Camp and maybe 1 song from Culdesac. Overall the concert was too short but worth the $35. Couldn't meet him afterwards tho

Best concert ever. His performance way beyond amazing and the set list was perfection! I wish I could watch all over again. Not only is he my favorite artist but he is well deesering because he's so humble and sweet. Got the chance to meet him afterwards.

This was one of the best concerts I've ever been too and I've been to a lot of concerts, I really liked how no one opened up for him it was just his concert, you didn't have to wait for someone you don't know to play for an hour then the main show, it was just his concert. The production was great it was like you were watching a play and your favorite rapper was the main character, and Donald Glover/Childish Gambino is a great performer he knows how to get the crowd moving, I am deffinitly going to his concert again when he's back in town.

That concert was dope plain and simple. Childish is that dude that will keep the atmosphere hype the whole concert. I would definitely pay to see him again, but next time I want front row. It was too late to purchase front row last time, but other than that my husband and I had a great time. I want to meet him at some point!

Although my night was almost ruined by SDSU security, Gambino was amazingly entertaining and I really enjoy the visuals. He encouraged audience participation from the very beginning of the show which immediately felt inviting, i had a great seat, and I was even let into the pit (only after Gambino did an encore and the security couldn't stop everyone from stampeding to the front). It was an overall good performance.

I absoutly love this concert. He really knew how to work the croud and got us so hype. also chill moody who opend for him killed it. After this concert I looked up all his songs and havent stoped listening.if i could change one this I do wish Childish talked to us more and interracted with the fans more, but besides that it was great

Best concert I have ever been to! Les Professionnels, DJ Ricochet & Chill Moody were great! They really got the energy up! When Gambino stepped on stage, it got even crazier! It was more than a concert; it was a workout. He really gives 110% & when he said to "bounce", you better believe everyone in the venue did just that. He is an amazing performer! As soon as the show finished, I wanted to do it all over again. If you ever get a chance to see him, DO IT! Also, stop by the merch table if you get a chance. Softest shirts ever!

I am a die hard Gambino girl and seeing gambino live was truly amazing. There was so much energy. If you have a chance to see him DO IT!! I am definitely going to try to go to another one of his concerts. He also had an awesome opener Chance the Rapper, seriously good young talent.

Went just on a whim excited but not expecting too much and ended up LOVING IT! The opening acts where kind of strange with Schoolboy Q being better than Danny Brown and actually pumping the crowd up before Childish Gambino come on and when he did it was explosive! He really knew how to entertain the crowd and was jumping around the stage with an energy that was contagious. I will DEFINITELY be going to another one of his concerts and my friends who went with me agree. Gambino is a mastermind,

The venue was great. Childish Gambino aka Donald Glover puts on an amazing show, and even though it stop raining when we came on we still would have enjoyed him in a down pour. His opening acts were interesting, but Childish set was amazing.He is full of energy, the songs were put together nicely they flowed and everyone had a great time. Go see him live it is so worth it.

Gambino was just sick! He's so talented, and his band is KICK ASS! I loved that he had a live band backing him rather than just a DJ. The opener Danny Brown was terrible in my opinion, but everyone else seemed to be in to his set.

Armed with a live band, jumbo screen, and enough energy to power the city, Donald Glover, aka Childish Gambino, brought the heat of a bonfire to Cleveland. For an hour and half, CG kept the crowd on their feet and jumping. In a sea of people, it still felt as intimate as a private show. So far, it's my show of the summer, and I don't see that changing.

Childish Gambino is such a great performer! He got the crowd ROARING the entire time. His energy was to the max the entire time he was performing and he definitely gets the crowd involved. I want to see him again! Best birthday present I've ever given myself!

I got to the venue while the group before was finishing up, and thank god...because what I heard was terrible. CG came on around 9, and from then on it was electric. The man knows how to put on a show! His live band is exceptional: They were just as much into the music as he was, and the synergy between them was amazing. I got to hear my favorite songs from the Camp album, so I can die happy now. If he comes back to Starland Ballroom I will definitely be going to that concert.

The entire theater was hella turnt. Gambino didn't start till like 9 but it's okay since his opening dj played really good songs. What I loved about his concert was he used the screen as part of his show. Each song had a different background that gambino kind of interacted with. My favorite part was when it look like gambino was singing in the ran when he played urn. And then I poured my heart out when he sang bonfire in his encore. I really wish I could experience it again. Even though I had balcony seats in the Oakland fox theater it was a decent view. Amazing venue and amazing show.

The Fox Theater was awesome! The sound was incredible and Childish really rocked the house.

This was my first concert, and I was really excited it would be Childish Gambino as my first one I attend. My friend told me that since I got the balcony seats, it wouldn't be as enjoyable, granted, he's never gone to a concert before, and we were slightly bummed we couldn't get to the floor. BUT. We had a great view, despite being so far from the artist! The effects were amazing! And Gambino brought so much energy to the whole event that I couldn't keep myself from jumping around and shouting out the lyrics. It was mesmerizing, and it felt so surreal. I made my decision to hit up every tour/concert that Gambino has from now on.

Childish Gambino's show was MEDIOCRE at best. Weak!

The immersion was incredible, the effects were amazing, and Bino was great as always. Showed his love for Oakland by giving us a throwback after the main show and a little freestyle at the very end. WORLDSTAR!

Childish Gambino's performance was amazing, but KYLE opened with only one song. More live performances would have been better. Venue was okay- the balcony was a bit of an awkward view and the pit was tiny.

I've seen Gambino once before over at the Hollywood Palladium. HE IS THE BEST LIVE! So much energy and pumps up the crowd. Literally died when he brought out a special guest! He really raps his parts and sings as well which definitely pulled my heartstrings a bit. If you haven't seen him and are a fan, YOU NEED TO ASAP!

Donald's concert was beyond crazy! The crowd of people that go is so hype, people get too turnt. Awesome concert, I would totally pay to go another hundred times.
