Lord Huron

Unburdened by contractual obligations and working at their studio and informal clubhouse Whispering Pines in Los Angeles, Lord Huron found the freedom and comfort to pursue their vision without compromise. The result is Vide Noir: a sonically bold, bravely-executed saga that pushes the band’s sound in ambitious new directions.Singer, songwriter and producer Ben Schneider found inspiration wandering restlessly through his adopted home of Los Angeles at night. His aimless nocturnal journeys ranged all over the city – across the twinkling grid of the valley; into the creeping shadows of the foothills; through downtown’s neon canyons; way out to the darksome ocean.

What a beautiful show! It was one of the best concerts I ve ever seen. Lord Huron always puts on a great show - mixing their newest album Vide Noir with older songs from Strange Trails . It was ethereal.

Seriously the best thing to ever come from a random Tuesday night in Pheonix with nothing to do. That's how my strange trail led me to Lord Huron. I love their sound and every one of their shows which I have attended has been fantastic!!

Lupo's in Providence RI probably hasn't seen many headliners leave the stage after playing only three songs. I had certainly never seen that done before, but Lord Huron excused themselves after 3 short boring songs off their new album. They left the stage. It was almost 11pm when Lord Huron returned to the stage to continue mid-set... Good grief. Was that really the best they could do? That's asking a lot of an audience to just do nothing and keep their energy up to give them a second chance later. I would hope that musicians could do a little better and come up with something entertaining to do on stage while they reboot their computers. It took a few more songs before it seemed Lord Huron re-gained a re-engaged audience. As for me, they'd given me too much time to notice all their songs sounded alike and not enough explanation of why they would abandon us! As I watched them flit their hair around I thought that must be it.- They just needed new hair-dos, right?

I could not stay for Lord Huron as my parking spot was going to expire and I did not want a ticket or to be towed. I went to this show to see The Wilderness of Manitoba and they did not disappoint me. The Wilderness of Manitoba has such a beautiful, rich sound and they are truly professionals. If you like Fleet Foxes, or not, you will love this band. The harmonies are stunning and effortless. Do NOT miss The Wilderness of Manitoba if you can help it. Amazing.

what a great show. the atmospheric quality of the music gave the show a cinematic feel. starting with the jazz band entrance to the speaker reading the macabre poem to the stage scenery, it was all dramatic. Add the great music and you had a magical event

I was worried that the atmospheric element of Lord Huron's music would be lost when translated into a live performance but I wasn't disappointed. Although their sound is a little different live, it's still amazingly similar to recorded versions of their albums. Everything from the theremin to the full fledged percussion performance was so great. Highly enjoyed their energy and love for music. Great band, great performance.

Lord Huron provides visual and audio stimulation from beginning to end. They're great musicians who love what they do and are incredibly talented. Multiple members of the band play several instruments during the show, so the bassist switches from bass, to piano, to the thermini, and the lead singer plays the harmonica and guitar simultaneously. It's a lively show the real Lord Huron fans make it a fun crowd to be a part of.

Lord Huron has a great vibe with a sort of Western / North Western theme on their albums, and they bring that experience to the stage in a very dynamic way. The band has evolved musically over the past few years, and have obviously played a lot of live shows together. Although this was only the third week of the new tour, the band was really in sync. Though the stage set is relatively simple, it succeeds in promoting a old-time western feel. The band pours a lot of energy into the music, and eschews the use of pre-recorded tracks for some of the instruments from the albums, preferring to make up the difference with three guitars, percussion and base on most of the songs, with the bass player filling in on keyboards occasionally, and memorably on the Theremin for one song. The Theremin is very difficult to play, and Miguel Briseño was concentrating very hard while playing it.

Not only is everyone in Lord Huron extremely good looking, they also know how to play some amazing jams. I was so impressed by their sound and their energy. Even though A&R bar is an awful place to watch shows (because the sound is crap), Lord Huron pulled it off.

Lord Huron gave an amazing performance start to finish. The venue was small, which is awesome, so we were very close (I m not a kid so standing the whole time gets tiresome but that s just me and it was totally worth it). I should have been aware of the concert goer headed into the show as 88.1 was giving out free tickets at the door (slap in the face). The crowd never settled and was filled wit hipsters who could care less about the band and just wanted a reason to drink. The band caught on quickly and payed to the crowd delivering a brief and uninspired but clean sounding concert. The energy was low and the sound was muffled. Maybe next time Lord Huron.

Never heard of Lucy, but she was well suited with her music style to be the opener and I definitely plan on looking up her music. As for Lord Huron, this was my first time seeing them and they did not disappoint! I can't think of a single song they didn't sing and they even included one I had never heard of! Only regret is that I wasn't on the floor, closer to the band. We were at the top bar, there were people seated in front of us but because the bar stools were so tall and the people were too, it was hard to get any decent pix without peoples heads. Thank goodness for the monitors so you could see everything!

Love this band. Wish their tour bus had not broken down. Show seemed very short. Did enjoy the mix of Lonesome Dreams and Strange Trails. Sound mix was off. Not sure if they were just rushed due to the late start. Would love to see them at the Taft Theater. Acoustics are much better, and there is actual seating. I saw them in Milwaukee at the Pabst Theater, and at the House of Blues in Cleveland before Strange Trails was released. Cleveland was the ultimate show. Can hardly wait until the next CD is released. Can't get enough of this band.

I went to the show mostly because of the opening act Jose Gonzales who I have loved for almost ten years now and rarely get the opportunity to see him live. When LH came on stage they brought the high heat right off the bat. Great energy and a sound that took me back to the days of Springsteen and John Cougar. They have a ton of talent from the vocals to the blended trio of guitars. Hard driving songs to mystical ventures into the woods brought a variety to the show that only a tight unit could pull off.

Thursday October 8th, 2015 went down as on of the best concerts I have ever been to. Lord Huron was headlined with Jose Gonzalez as the ethereal opener. I have been a Lord Huron fan for a few years now, from the first time I randomly attended a show at Pittsburgh's Stage AE back in 2013. I was very excited for the new album and can honestly say I loved every song! I decided to look into seeing them again and found that they would be playing in Columbus, which is only about 2-3 hours drive from Pittsburgh, so I met a friend there for the Monday night show at the Newport Music Hall. The space was super intimate keeping everyone in great view of the stage and the awesome performance. Lord Huron has definitely come into their own even in the last two years that I have followed them. Their music has always been amazing, but their stage presence is getting better and better. I can't wait for the next opportunity to see them live. Great job guys, you rocked the place! P.S. Your opener was great too! Lord Huron was terrific. Their first album, LONESOME DREAMS, is one of my favorite albums ever. It flows like a river, and the songs feel less like they were written, and more like they were discovered . . . unearthed chunks of magic hidden by time. Their second album, STRANGE TRAILS, feels like a lost transmission from an alternative radio past, where every day was Halloween, and American Bandstand still broadcast in black and white. Lord Huron not only MAKES great music, they perform the hell out of it live. This is an extremely talented bunch, and they absolutely brought their magic with them on this night.

Opening up with Cardinal Sons, a local band here in New Orleans, and then diving into the magic of Lord Huron, it was truly an incredible show. The opening act was great, and made me feel ashamed that I hadn't heard of them sooner. And once Lord Huron hit the stage, the entire room's energy changed. Was really looking forward to some new sounds from Lord Huron. Have seen them three times before and each time their stage presence improves. Tonight was the fourth time and it was no exception. Using an old radio as a prop, some new lighting, and the Strange Trails backdrop the band kicked it off with three tunes from their new CD, then interspersed some Lonesome Trail tracks into the new material. I can only describe some of the new tracks as David Lynch meets Spaghetti Western. Twangy western guitar and mysterious Twin Peaks like background music work so well together. Lord Huron plays the ultimate head bobbing tunes - very addictive and now with a stage show to match. Catch them if you can!

I have been going to concerts for some time now, and I must say, Lord Huron exceeded all expectations. I really liked both their albums before, but seeing them live made me fall in love. The amount of energy they exerted on stage was awesome and everyone danced around the whole show with huge smiles; I know mine stretched from ear to ear. I cannot get enough of this band now!!!!

Lord Huron has been one of my favorite bands for a long time and seeing them live for the first time was everything I wanted and more. They were energetic and sounded amazing. They played old and new songs (which I love). I cannot wait to see them again!

First time seeing Lord Huron and the guys didn't disappoint. Most of "Lonesome Dreams" album played with a few additional songs. Band was rocking throughout the set. Not much between song chatter. Opening act, James Apollo Band wasn't all that good. Only real complaint was the State Theatre - overbearingly hot. No ventilation at all.

Lord Huron is an excellent live band. While I love the nuances of their album, seeing their energy live really adds another element to their music. They deviate from their songs ever so slightly so everything they play is still recognizable but also fresh and exciting. The lead singer is so captivating (and adorable). I could watch them play all night.

According to my ipod, in less than a year I have listened to "Time to Run" 158 times and thats not including the times I've listed to it via CD in my car. I had to see Lord Huron perform this and the "Ends of the Earth" and "Brother" live. I had NO idea that they would be beyond amazing! The energy and dedication they displayed was what I expected from Mumford and other big name artists. Lord Huron provided an incredibly energetic performance that felt big and powerful but also remained intimate and connected- truly unreal!!! As soon as it ended, I was wishing that there was another show to soon look forward to. I will hold on to that wish until next time. Recommend that fans see them asap as I can't imagine that they will continue to play at smaller venues for much longer.

Lord Huron has an energy that makes the crowd come alive. I have seen people at shows who are listening for the first time and they instantly take to the music and start dancing around, having fun. They perform wonderfully live and I wouldn't ever hesitate to see them. THEY ARE A MUST SEE.

Not sure what to say: I'm sure these guys are great, but nobody in the theatre that night was going to hear it. The sound was so out of balance that after the second song, the entire floor of fans starting chanting "TURN. UP. the VOCALS!". The lead guitar was also completely dead, as it was for the opening band. Really a sad scenario that nobody had the guts to just stop the thing, and crack a technical difficulties joke while they took 5 minutes to fix it. I actually suspect that the junction box to the left of the lead singer was somehow disconnected, because nothing from his position, guitar, mini drums, or vocals, ever hit the speakers. The lead singer obviously knew something was wrong and kept looking/yelling at the sound guys, but nothing changed. What a waste.

I saw Lord Huron with Alt-J a couple months ago at the House of Blues and they were amazing, which was why I had to see them again. So full of energy and their attention to detail is impeccable. I absolutely recommend this show!

I was unable to take Lord Huron's album off repeat prior to the show....and after the show it remained the same way! They were much better than I expected, great musically and had a good amount of stage presence too. I was actually surprised. Would definitely recommend seeing the band again. Terminal 5 is far from my favorite venue in NYC; its setup is not ideal, but this time I was able to position myself so that I enjoyed myself. Thumbs up!
