Simply not just another Christmas show, but an incredible experience that you don t want to end. Amy Grant is spectacular alone as an artist, writer and performer, yet she shares the stage with family and friends. Vince Gill, both family and friend, tries hard not to upstage his co-host but his voice and guitar solos are worth the money alone. Not only does Mr. Nashville rock the Mother Church, he personifies what a gifted musician he truly is by making every song better. I can t wait to buy tickets for next year and live the true Tennessee Christmas.

The show was amazing. It was even better than last year and that was an amazing show. Amy is beautiful and has a beautiful voice. Vince I m just going to say stole the stage. He sang many songs, ripped that guitar, and had the crowd laughing with his quick comebacks and stories. You can see the love and admiration they have for each other. The show gets you in the Christmas spirit!!

Our family has been to many Christmas events in and around Nashville. The Amy Grant and Vince Gill Christmas show is the one which remains on our calendar each year. They are both amazing artist in their own. Put them together and it becomes a special treat. It s always a little different but when you leave you leave with the spirit of what Christmas is all about. The Ryman adds to the special glow of the season .. try to never miss it as long as they share their time with us .

Amy and Vince never disappoint when putting together their annual Christmas show at the Beautiful, historic Ryman Auditorium. This year, the show opened with singer-songwriter Natalie Hamby who showcase her talent with songs from her new album as well as some Christmas tunes. Amy and Vince took the stage and sang songs from her extensive Christmas recordings as well as other standards, some classic, non- Christmas tunes and their unique storytelling. The show is 3+ hours of spectacular entertainment guaranteed to soften even the grumpiest grinch and meanest Scrooge.

Arguably one of the best Christmas shows that I have ever seen. I have been to the Ryman Auditorium before so this was not a new experience. Amy and Vince open the show describing a living room setting where we all were family and that's exactly what it felt like during the show. I look forward to hopefully seeing the show again next year...if they have it.

All of these women were just out of this world! I was so incredibly blessed and every song they sang was a specific word from God about so many things I had been praying about and for. Truly, these woman of God have been and continue to be such an inspiration and light in this dark world and I am SO grateful to have driven from Abilene to San Antonio to be a part of this night of worship and reflection and redemption and praise. <3 I had the blessing of talking to Amy after the concert and thanking her for being such a huge part of my faith journey for the past 35 years! Amy can connect with an audience like no one else. Great set list of favorites from her amazing music career. Nicole Nordeman and Ellie Holcomb were excellent as well, and all three shared the stage, taking turns singing their own songs. Nicole Nordeman shared several really hilarious stories, which added to the fun atmosphere of the evening. Amy Grant is a class act. After living in Nashville for over ten years and wanting to see Christmas at the Ryman with Amy Grant and Vince Gill for just about as long, my wife and I finally got to do just that this past month. It was worth the wait, although now I really wish we'd gone sooner...and now, I can't wait to go again in 2016! Not only the star-power quality of the headliner's musicianship, stage presence and story-telling (Vince is a master at that), but the stellar musicians supporting them on stage (Pat Buchanan, Gene Miller, Greg Morrow; Jenny Gill and Kim Keyes on background vocals) made for an excellent evening of entertainment, all while getting to "celebrate the Reason for the Season".

We are blessed to have 12 wonderful children. Our oldest daughter who serves our country in the US Navy has our only grandchild and is currently stationed in Germany. With our large family alone time and resources are limited especially at Christmas time. When I read about the concert online I knew that my husband and I should choose this concert as our gift to get other. After sharing with him I purchased the tickets. After much planning for a babysitter our gift was planned. This concert is the best gift we have shared. There was laughter, musical talent and just a heart felt presence by Amy and Vince that is unforgettable. If they return to do a Christmas concert next year we will do our best to join them!

Vince Gill is a TERRIFIC guitarist. ..As GREAT a voice as he has, he is also a VERY talented and SOULFUL Guitarist. ..Amy Grant still sings BEAUTIFULLY, and looks GREAT! This show was somewhat a little different from earlier CHRISTMAS shows I have seen them perform in the past...Not all songs done were CHRISTMAS songs, and the show did deviate into some pop songs that the duo had recorded...In any event, a TERRIFIC EVENING of FIRST CLASS ENTERTAINMENT, at a GREAT VENUE..

Amy Grant is my all-time favorite solo performer. This show was not a disappointment. Seeing her so many times I can't count them since 1985 she is as good now as she was then. Her shows are not the full stage Arena a Performances they used to be, but her sound holds together better. The intimate setting of The Birchmere showed Amy at the most relaxed I think I have ever seen her, making the show magical. Her interactions with Ellie her opening act and daughter of longtime producer Brown Bannister were priceless. My only negative of the night is The Birchmeres General Admission policy of giving everyone a ticket with a number to enter the arena, makes it mandatory that you are there over 2 hours before the opening of the doors in order to get a decent seat which is crazy! Otherwise a nice venue to wath great performances!

To have both recording artists entertaining on the same stage was a real pleasure! From old favorites to new recordings, my wife and I both appreciated the fellowship and Christian music. The Rochester Auditorium Theater is a small venue that allows for good seating in all directions. We have followed both artists careers and were very happy to have them come to Western New York. They both still look amazing! The Band and backup singers were very good. We were all surprised to see that one singer was Amy's step-daughter. She is very good!

Michael and Amy were amazing. I've been a fan for many years. The two of them together on stage was just wonderful. The sound was a little loud from my seat (right in front of the speakers), but it was awesome. Was able to have a great Meet and Greet before the show with both Amy and Michael. Amy was so cordial and sweet. She looked each person right in the eyes when she spoke to you, and was so beautiful. Michael was just incredible. His son and daughter in law were in the hospital at the time having his granddaughter, and she was born during the concert. It was great to share that moment! Live from the Front Row. What a night, 3 hours of pretty much non-stop music to stir the soul. Being a fan of both of these artists for 20+ years it was such fun to see them share the stage - and in their home town to top it off! It was great to hear them reminisce together about writing some of their hit songs and then hear them sing the song. Everyone was on their "A" game. Did I mention the bands? They were amazing musicians I could have listened to for a long time. This concert was full of nostalgia and if you've ever been a fan of either Amy or Michael's music then I'm sure you would enjoy it. If it comes to another town near me I will probably go see it again! It's that good! :)

Expectations were high for the 2 Friends Concert in Jacksonville Florida. The opportunity to see two musical artists of such high caliber perform together in the wonderful ambiance and history of the Florida Theatre was something to look forward to. The Florida Theatre, originally opened in 1927 and renovated in 1983, is abundant in famous acts it has hosted over the years. Elvis Presley headlined one of his first concert appearances on an indoor stage at the Florida Theatre in 1956. The history of the venue brings perspective to the past-to-present evolution of Michael W. Smith and Amy Grant. Both Amy and Michael have a rich history touring together in their early career years and as individual artists going their separate ways. Now, after twenty-plus years they will be performing together again in a concert both reminiscent of times past and times present. The concert began shortly after 8PM with both Michael and Amy singing a few songs together including Amy's 1986 hit song Stay for Awhile from her Collection album. The next song set was all Amy and her band. Baby, Baby and El Shaddai stood out as favorites although Amy was on her game with every song. Amy's sidelights and commentary between songs added to the personalization of her music. She is a natural for connecting with her audience. After Amy's solo set, Michael came back on stage to accompany her with Emmanuel and Lead Me On. There is a musical magic present when Michael and Amy perform together. It seems automatic and genuine and it works. Before intermission, Michael Olson spoke on behalf of Compassion International about sponsoring children in need throughout the world. Because of the passion both Michael Olson and Michael W. Smith have for this cause, over 100,000 children have been sponsored from their concert efforts. Following an intermission of about 15 minutes and a change of band equipment, both Michael and Amy take the stage once again. Several classic songs were mixed with some current favorites. A highlight was How to Say Goodbye from Michael's Stand album which was an emotional journey for Amy as she sang along. As a sidenote, Amy co-wrote How to Say Goodbye with Michael. It was obvious that both had an emotional connection with this song, along with most of us in the audience. After Somewhere, Somehow from Michael's Change Your World album, Amy departed the stage and it was Michael's turn to take the audience down memory lane once again. Secret Ambition from the 1988 I 2 (eye) album was as powerful as ever. It is that enduring type of song that makes it a classic. The blast from past continued with Rocketown from the 1986 Big Picture album. Michael, like Amy, is a natural at creating an audience relationship that goes beyond the music. Between songs Michael connects with the audience by telling stories and offering tidbits of information about life and career related events. One story particularly funny was about a 12-year-old girl who recognized him in public one day and came up to him \u2026 I won't finish the story here until after the tour is over so I don't spoil it for those who will be going to one of the 2 Friends concerts. Sprinkled in with past classics were current favorites including Wonder, the title track from Michael's latest album and a new favorite of mine. Another song from the Wonder album that I believe is destined to become one of those timeless classics is Welcome Home. This is an amazing song that I see as the sequel to another of Michael's unforgettable mainstay songs Friends. Welcome Home was an obvious emotional experience for Michael as he performed it. Welcome Home is a necessary and meaningful story set to music that so many people will connect to. Following Michael's solo set, Amy returned to the stage. Michael did an abbreviated version of Healing Rain, the title track from the 2004 album, and a favorite from recent years. My only complaint is that Michael did not perform the full version of Healing Rain, which can have a wonderful extraordinary presence, especially when experienced live. A special surprise was announced toward the end of the concert. Michael had a new granddaughter. Esther Ayana Smith was born to son Tyler and Sarah Smith about 9PM this night during the concert. Agnus Dei followed to wrap up the concert. Of course, the audience knew what to expect for the encore. Might it be Friends? Well, yes. A true moment in history as Michael and Amy sang the song that will never end, Friends. The past and present had come full circle as does the circle of life. The concert ended shortly after 11PM, making it three hours long (including the intermission). It was essentially two concerts with two great bands and two headliners. Add to that the magic and performance chemistry on stage and you get an extraordinary evening. The combination of Michael W. Smith, Amy Grant, and the Florida Theatre came together to create the perfect storm of a wonderful and amazing five-star concert. *****

Their voices were angelic and the band was awesome!! The traditional Christmas songs were mostly done in an upbeat and jazzy way. Loved the way Amy & Vince became very personable with the audience and how Vince showed his humorous side... didn't realize he was so funny! We also liked that they included their 2 daughters in their performance. Definitely a show for the entire family and a perfect way to start Christmas week. And of course, it was the perfect venue for this show... The Fox!! The only disappointment were our seats. The huge speaker stage right blocked our view of the keyboard player, drummer, vocal singers, and at times Amy Grant whenever she sat down. I probably would not have purchased the seats had I known about the speakers.

No matter how many concerts I go to of Amy's, she never fails to deliver the most entertaining performances. I do believe that every concert or event has a special feel to it. Does not matter if your sitting in last row or 2 feet from the stage, she manages to make you feel as if she is speaking to you. Thanks again Amy for the years of music and the many more you have to share with us.

Amy does a great show! The venues may be smaller these days but the shows are always top notch. She always manages to assemble a great band that can put a fresh spin on her classic tunes. This group of musicians manages to add a little new flavor which compliments her great songs. She performs for a solid 2 hours with no break giving her audience their money's worth and then some. I've followed Amy's career from the beginning and can honestly say I became a huge fan from day one and remain so to this day. She has great taste in music and writes awesome lyrics and melodies. The styles have varied from pop to rock to country over the years but always great music that never disappoints. She is in a class by herself and it's easy to see why she rose to the top of the list of Christian musicians of our day.

I had seen Amy in concert three previous times and thoroughly enjoyed this concert and considered it one of her best. She intermixed some old songs (Mountaintop, El Shaddai), slightly old songs (Big Yellow Taxi, Lucky One, Baby Baby, Saved By Love, House of Love, the Kye Fleming-Janis Ian penned "What About The Love", Jimmy Webb's "If These Walls Could Speak" ) with some new songs (though I'm not sure of some of the new titles. The newest songs stood up well against some of her classics and were very introspective and soul searching. Her songwriting and choice of songs has definitely matured and seasoned over the years along with her stage command. She has a very easy going yet professional presence on stage that very few artists have and her set lists change continuously which make her an easy artist to see again and again. She ended the set with "I Will Remember You" and the Byrds classic "Turn Turn Turn. She is an artist that I would highly recommend seeing in concert.

Amy Grant's acoustic performance in Malibu, CA was memorable and full of healing. She sang her heart out. A testament to healed heartbreak. A perfect love song set that combined 90's hits with some original love songs to Jesus wrapped up with songs to be released on her upcoming album. Great show!!

Seeing Amy is always a treat. She and her band are all truly very experienced musicians and that comes through in performance. Amy was in good voice and sounded great and in tune. The audience was in an excited and energetic mood and both Amy and her band really fed off of that and were obviously having a good time themselves up on that stage. The show comprised a smaller band than other shows I have seen. The most notable missing person was her backup singer of many years, Kim Keyes, who happened to be on vacation. However, the band did a great job covering her parts with only the male singers. A definite recommendation for anyone!

OVER PRICED FOR THE TIME AND QUALITY OF THE CONCERT. THE INSTRUMENTS WERE LOUDER THAN AMY, YOU COULD NOT HERE HER SINGING. IT WAS SUPPOSE TO BE A CHRISTIAN CONCERT, BUT DID NOT APPEAR THAT WAY. I WAS DISAPPOINTED, AND WILL NOT ATTEND ANOTHER ONE OF AMY'S CONCERTS.

I have seen these two before and it is great each time. Best show yet at the Ryman. Amy was fantastic as no one can sing like her... and Vince is an amazing performer. Great chemistry, a show you shouldn't miss!

Amy Grant and Vince Gill present a festive show full of great songs and musical performances. The band is stellar, and Vince alternates between sweet and soulful singing, burning guitar, and funny banter in the moments between. Amy keeps Vince in line, and pulls from her large catalog of classic Christmas offerings. There is a reason they have been doing this for years at the Ryman.

I've seen more than my share of concerts over my lifetime. I've probably seen Vince Gill 25 times. Last night was our 6th time seeing him and Amy Grant for Christmas at the Ryman. I go on often about music and Nashville. I'm biased and a music snob, I admit it. I'm going to try and give you an honest review of the night, I'm always honest!! Christmas at the Ryman has become a Nashville tradition organically. It actually started 24 years ago as a fund raiser for the Nashville Symphony at the Schermerhorn with just Amy. Over the years it has grown as it moved to the Ryman. It's up to ten nights a season now. All sell out. All are weeknight shows. It's not a cheap ticket. All compete with everything Christmas throws at everyones schedule. So why do over 22,000 people buy a ticket, A YEAR IN ADVANCE, to see two artists, admittedly past the prime years of their careers, sing Christmas songs and tell stories? First off, it's the Ryman. Anyone that's ever sung there will attest, there is no better place to play in the world. Acoustically perfect. Small and intimate. Historically cool. Second the artists. Arguably the two most loved and appreciated "hometown" singers in town. Vince eats breakfast at the same diner almost every morning on the west side. He's a Member of the Grand Ole Opry, the Country Music Hall of Fame, he's a multi Grammy and CMA award winner, he's a the guitar player for the Time Jumpers every Monday night at a corner bar downtown, he's a part of the Eagles, and if you show up at Noshville deli on West end most mornings, he's there eating his usual breakfast and talking to the folks. Amy has actually sold more records than Vince. She's in the Gospel Music Hall of Fame. She's a Mom, a step mom, a Grandma, a fund raising machine for several local charities, and she often stops by to sing with Vince on Monday nights at the corner bar. Third it's the songs. Sure it's Christmas so the first half is filled with some Jingle Bells and the like, but it's just fun. I catch myself doing something at these nights I rarely do, I smile. It just feels good. When they duet on " Baby it's Cold Outside" I have no doubt that they had this exact discussion on a date way back when. Amy explaining she has to go or people will talk and Vince nudging her she just needs to stay a bit longer. Vince's guitar is showcased several times, best in "Santa Claus is coming in a Boogie Woogie Choo Choo Train". Vince hasn't lost any of his voice in his now 60th year as he displays on "O Holy Night". Amy has never been a vocalist. More of a stylist. Somehow however when the lights dim and the piano starts the intro to "Breath of Heaven" she sings better than she ever has. Like it was written just for her. The string quartet then plays "Silent Night" not from the stage but from the middle of the floor. No microphones. No lights. Just music. You can do that at the Ryman, doesn't work anywhere else. The closing "til next year" and the soulful encore of " Do you Hear what I Hear" conclude as strong as the beginning over three hours prior. Additionally, snowballs fly thru the air. Playfully tossed around by the crowd and all on stage. This year Jenny Van Valkenburg (Gill) Vince's daughter is but days from delivering her second child. She's on stage singing background vocals, which include a mention at one point of " Water breaking". Rumor is if it's a boy he's going to be named Ryman!! Vince's stories of his Dad I've heard many times, yet still I laugh. It's likely the only Christmas show featuring multiple mentions of " my old man kicked my ass". You see it's not a show, at least it sure feels real. I find lots of comparisons in Vince and Amy's relationship and Davina Marie Holbrook and mine. Certainly not the singing of course... So I choose to believe the stage is just a family room and we are in the living room sharing Christmas with our friends. Davina has accepted so many of my oddities. She's grown to love this town and the music as much as I do. She really has, she proved it last night....she bought the t shirt!!!

Their annual Christmas show is a Nashville tradition. There is no Christmas show out there better than this one!! They change it up every year so you can attend annually and never be bored. Amy and Vince are amazing as individual performers. But put them together for a Christmas show and it is pure magic!! They are so down to earth and they are great story tellers. You will feel like you are at at a favorite Aunt and Uncles s house for a Christmas get together. You will laugh, you might tear up with emotion and you will sing!! They make everyone sing!! It is the PERFECT event for families or groups!!

We saw our first Amy Grant / Vince Gill Christmas in 2016 and nothing would stop us from attending again in 2017. We were not disappointed. Don't let any naysayers sway you - the show has amazing musicianship and most importantly, it has heart. Honestly, anyone that doesn't like the show should check their hearts - likely 3 sizes too small. My wife and I highly recommend this show and the only reservation I have for saying this is that now I will be battling more people trying to get into it!

Very Disappointed in the performance of this show. They acted like they were having a rehearsal instead of performing a show that we paid for. The attire was horrible. one is jeans and the other in a dress at the end. We had seats on the side and you could not see them at all. They do not come out from the back of the stage so they can not be seen from the side view. We had taken our mom to Nashville for her 80th birthday and she was disappointed as well. This show is not worth the money that we spent.

My husband and I have enjoyed Amy Grant's Christmas shows for at least 20 years. We love her and her music, but her show this year with Vince was one of the best ever. She is happy, graceful, beautiful, caring, and puts such meaning and passion into her songs. Her tribute to veterans on December 7th was so thoughtful and heartwarming. Vince shared so many songs and stories and was so funny. May God continue to bless them as they brings joy to so many of us.

I was so excited I was able to get tickets to Vince & Amy. But, a bit disappointed in the concert. I guess maybe I was expecting more of a Christian based concert than was given, so that was some of my disappointment. I thought Amy just acted "ho-hum" and not thrilled to be doing concert. Again, this is just my opinion.

My wife and I share Dec 8th birthday and we spent the night of the 7th in absolute bliss at the Ryman with Amy Grant and Vince Gill. Set included some of their classics with them sharing some of the inspirations behind the songs. So much talent and grace that I cannot help but want to see them again. Vince Gill possesses that true gift of genuine brilliance with his voice and emotional guitar playing. Their love for their music and each other was on obvious display for all to see. Thank you for a wonderful and unforgettable evening.

Great variety of their Christmas music! Been attending every year they have a show since arrival in Nashville! We are members of their fan club! Started purchasing tickets the minute they went on sale! We purchased tickets for two different nights! Our tickets were on the main floor but near the back! How is that possible? Shame! Shame!

Just an amazing show from start to finish. Opening act was great and the right amount of time. This was our third time to see the Christmas show and this one was the best. A little less production but the right amount for the mother church. Where it is important "Sound" it really could not have been any better.

We had a great time and very much enjoyed Vince Gill and Amy Grant again this year. They have a way of including the audience with snowball fights, singing and telling some really funny jokes, along with some great picking from Vince and wonderful songs from both of them. This is the third year we have been and it's always a great show and we love the Ryman.
